We go in there and pay cash 3500.00 for a reclining sofa and loveseat, most of the experience was okay until the end when they were not suppose to charge me for delivery but they added it on and charged my debit card, the said now there was no way to change it. They took me up to the office manager Red and he promised it was pending so he was going to change it and it would post minus the delivery fees, he said it could take 5-6 days. It took 4 days to post and of course he did not do his job and my account was charged the total with delivery. I called up to the store and he had no empathy that he messed up and said that he was going to have to put another ticket in and someone would call me to process a refund in another week. I ask him why it would take so long for there error and all he could say is what do you want me to do, I ask for my money and he said there is nothing he can do about it and I just have to wait for another week or two until they decide to refund hopefully. Do not go to this store. The customer service is horrible. The manger Mr. Smith is dishonest. He first told me he cancelled my order per my request. But I said please give me some proof or number I can call to make sure the cancellation order has been processed correctly. I don't want furniture delivered claiming I have not cancelled. He said he didn't know a number for customers to call for cancellation. But he cancelled for me. And he can't give me any proof. I though he must be new to the store and shock he would say there is no number to call to cancel. So finally upon my repeat request, he wrote down his name to show that I have spoke to someone for cancellation . The next day I found the 1800 number and called and cancelled it one more time. The lady on the phone was nice and cancelled both of my orders. But a month later, after several in person store visit and calling customer service , still no refund. I found out some employee in the furniture store changed my phone number so no one could call me for refund. A lady on staff was nice and trying to change number for me during one of my In person visits. She said someone would call soon but 7 days later still no call. It seems like it's just a scan trying to rip off customers. I'm going to BBB to report this misconduct. It shouldn't take so much trouble for a consumer to get a refund. And I do not appreciate the manger lying to me right in front of my face saying he gave me the number to cancel wile he intentionally tried to tell me there was no way to call and cancel during my first in person visit. My wife and I just moved into our new home and had gotten rid of our old couch and loveseat. We had a budget in mind when the time came to start looking at new furniture. My wife went to the Redding store after work one night on a whim after hearing that they were having a 50% off sale in July on the radio. That was the first gimmick. After being followed around for an hour by a friendly but hovering salesmen whom my wife quickly dismissed so she could text me about a piece she found on sale, we both agreed to buy it that night. When my wife let me know that we couldn't get the couch delivered till next week sometime, I was a bit peeved, but willing to work around it so we could have something in our living room to sit on. They also don't deliver Friday or Saturday to our location (which is only a half hour from the Redding store), which also sucked. The salesmen informed my wife the delivery fee to Anderson is $70, which I found to be a bit high, but we were willing to let that slide at the moment. We were told we would receive a call to schedule our delivery the following week. Two days later, we receive said call informing us that our "delivery window" is on our chosen date but from 3-7 pm. Not only did the salesmen hide the fact that you cannot choose a delivery window of time, but that was not going to work with our work schedule that week, so we called to see if we could get an earlier time slot. We were told by corporate that because we live "in the boonies" and that our furniture is being delivered all the way from Stockton, our order at the soonest would arrive at 7 pm that night. After fighting with customer service at corporate and getting hung up on, I told them to cancel the order. I also contacted the Redding manager and let them know I wanted to cancel our order. A day later, my wife received an auto text from Ashley still confirming our delivery. She called on her lunch break and told corporate again we did not want the delivery due to our horrible customer service experience. She then asked for a refund. She was then mysteriously rerouted to the local store where she spoke to the store manager Katrina and was informed that we would have to wait 48-72 hours after our delivery date to receive a refund. I found that alone absolutely ridiculous considering every other corporation either gives in-person or remote refunds same day. Another 72 hours pass and Sunday afternoon rolls around where we are out and about. Then Ashley Furniture calls and leaves a voicemail regarding processing our refund. My wife attempted to call them back minutes later and had to leave 2 separate voicemails for them. I'm fuming at this point from the awful level of customer service they have at the corporate office and the fact our hard earned money is being held hostage with this awful company for over 3 days. We plan to file a dispute with our bank and force a refund Monday after reading other bad reviews on this same issue from customers across the country. DO NOT SHOP HERE ITS A SMOKE IN MIRRORS GAME. Everything is routed to corporate where it goes to pot from there and they hold onto your hard earned money so you have to fight forever and a day before trying again somewhere else. To be honest, their prices are the same as the other game in town who have same day delivery and superior customer service. We will never step foot in this store ever again. The sales person who helped me(I will not name drop) completely ordered the wrong couches as well as left an item completely off the order! And as lied about how the furniture will look! On top of this we called the sales person back directly to ask why the order was missing our coffee table to which he replied we did not ask for it! This place is a SCAM! They have no integrity and are completely unprofessional. They advertise a sleep guarantee for their mattresses for up to 120 days. We have been trying to return our mattress for the past month, we call every day to speak to the manager, and they beat around the bush and are unable to tell us how to return. This is my second time buying from this very reputable company. This review will be for both experiences as they were both five star in all aspects. I bought a sofa and recliner on Their Presidents' Day sale and followed up with an adjustable base and mattress this Memorial Day which was also on sale. The staff is great there and not pushy at all but they don't ignore you by any means. Management had changed but both times they worked with me to get the best deal possible and believe me I did my research both times and they wound up matching any online deal I found and in both cases exceeded the savings I thought couldn't be beat. When buying a bed you can't really rely on online reviews because the product is to subjective and I don't have the time or desire to even think about dealing with returning these large item purchases if I can't find a showroom where I can try them out..That's why I chose Ashley for my purchase the second time around. Kyler C. was amazingly patient with us, while we shopped, even helped us rearrange the store, to try different styles of tables and rugs with the sectional! When we had questions he wasn't sure about, Chris R. stepped in to make sure we had the correct answers. We really felt they gave us the best deal we could get. Our delivery was scheduled, and was made on time, with a couple different confirmations, to make sure we were still good with that time. We ordered table and chairs. They delivered the table but the six chairs were put on back order for three weeks which we accepted. After two weeks we were told that it would not arrive for a couple more weeks. Then, just three days later, we were told it would not be available for at least one month longer. At this point, we wanted our money back and asked them to pick up the table for a full refund since it was a set. They refused saying that it was not their policy -- even though they should not have delivered the table without the chairs because it was one set. Then, after going to upper management, they told us if we repurchased from their store we can get a full refund (they must think we have some screws loosed!) We told them that we were not interested and then they said they will reinburse us for the undelivered chairs but not the table. Their only concern was themselves, and we will NEVER shop Ashley Home Store again. Their customer service is terrible -- and now we have a table without matching chairs! Not good, is an understatement! I have never shopped at an Ashley Furniture Store before, however recently saw potential pieces online, and as always, wanted to give my business to the local store in town first. I was greeted by a man who directed me to where I needed to go as I am in need of 10 bar stools (and more!). After seeing the selection I chose 2 different types that could possibly work in my kitchen. At that time I had two men, the greeter and a salesman join in to talk with me. I asked what their return policy was and they said they didn't have one- ALL SALES FINAL. I then asked if there was in-store credit to exchange any items that didn't work for me and was also told they did not. I was a bit flabbergasted to hear that as it didn't seem like that store would have that business model. The greeter mentioned they could potentially allow me to place a deposit on the two stools I was curious about so I could take them home and see which one worked for me. I thought, hmm, ok? At this time, the salesman told me that they had a deal which could potentially give me 10% off of the sale of my stools if I were to buy a TEMPURPEDIC mattress (I could care less). In short- I told him I do not like Tempurpedic mattresses as they hurt my body and I got rid of the last one I had. He looked at me like I was crazy and continued to try convincing me with his explanations so much as I felt like he was arguing! If someone says they don't like a product because it hurts them- drop it! I couldn't believe the run-around I was getting and asked to speak to the manager. I got the "lower-level" manager and proceeded to tell him I was interested in a couple stools and not sure which one would work and asked about the deposit service available. He looked at me and said they didn't have such service and even asked the general manager and he confirmed the information I was presented with was, false. I asked if they had an exchange policy and he said no, then, said yes, because they want to service the customers right. With that. he admitted they in fact DID have an exchange policy!?! Which is it I asked? I then wished them a good day and left. I have never had such terrible service enough for me to write a negative review ever, but if this helps anyone looking to patron this Redding store, think twice. I left there wondering if I was discriminated against because no one understood I was truly interested in buying from them today and dropping $$$$ plus dollars, in their store today -and not on a Tempurpedic mattress! To the GM, I truly feel for you, good employees are hard to come buy, but if my employees made customers feel as they did to me today, they'd get the boot! I promised the manager a review on Yelp, I'm not sure he'll like this one. The store and sales person were fabulous. She helped us find exactly what we needed for a great deal. But...delivery was a problem. They came as stated the first time. Dresser was fine. Bed had manufacturer defects, so they took it back. No big deal, wasn't there fault. BUT...we were promised a call on Monday to set up a new time to bring a bed back out, no call. Waited...till the end of the week. I ended up calling customer service. Oh...hummmm...ok let's set something up. Can't do it for another week and I need to make sure we have it. I'll call you on Monday. No call on Monday. Again I called on Friday. Are we getting the bed on Sunday? Oh yes you're scheduled for Sunday. So two times they were supposed to call back, no calls. Then the bed is delivered. Drawers don't line up, strap under mattress is broke. Several drawers don't slide well because the bed wasn't put together correctly. Am I calling them back...NO! I'll fix the bed myself! My wife and I are not happy with this store at all. After shopping around we decided to purchase a Tempur-Pedic from there. Because the bed was expensive and they advertise 90 day sleep warranty or something like that . I was told by the salesman that we were not happy with it that we would get a refund but would cost a little over 200.00 . We were fine with that . Well..... we are not happy with the bed and now they offer only store credit or a different Tempur-Pedic bed . Will be contacting better business Bureau. They have done nothing but lied to us . Also with all this we ordered a bed frame which took awhile to get and the was told that it was discontinued shortly after that Friday came and received a text message saying or items we're on the way. As the delivery driver showed up he seemed irritated because they only had half of everything that they brought. He then told me that he called the salesman and the salesman said that he contacted us saying that that was OK. We never received a call about this. Luckily we were able to cancel all other orders and we will never be going back to Ashley's furniture again. The funny thing is I contacted Tempur-pedic and they actually offer a full refund after 30 days if we don't like the bed. Worst company ever . Last weekend we decided it was time for a new dinette set. Ashely's is where we finally decided to buy from. The price was awesome and they gave us $100 of the extended warranty and $50 off a rug for whatever reason I don't know. Delivery was great, we got a pre-call two days before and another call :30 before truck showed up. The guys assembled the furniture, set it up and took away all the trash in about :15 minutes. We've had no less than a dozen calls to store management and every single one of them gives us the run around. The manager pretends to be out of the store 10 seconds after he left us a message. Or he's "out at lunch" five minutes after a call. No one will tell us what's going on. We have company visiting for the holidays and - despite the fact that we ordered the furniture 3 weeks ago and it was promised to be delivered this past Sunday - it looks like our guests will not have a bed to sleep in. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS. They're nothing but master salespeople, willing to tell you anything you want to hear - even when it's patently obvious that they're lying. My original post is below (otherwise the night we stayed up until 12:30 because the store told us that if we didn't stay up to accept delivery, we wouldn't get it for weeks ... our window was 4-8pm and they just never showed and never called). OP: Do not consider their delivery "window" of 4 hours to be set in stone, or anywhere close to. We're sitting here at 11:30 pm, waiting on a delivery for a kid's room (that had a delivery window of 4-8pm). No one called us. No one texted us. We're having to keep the family awake with no idea of how late they will be. When I did finally call the store and pleaded (very politely) for at least an estimated time, the woman at the store was rude and said "I guess if you need to sleep you can just refuse delivery but then we won't be delivering it tomorrow." So with one sick kid and one sick adult who has to work at 6am tomorrow, we sit waiting for a delivery that is at least "2 deliveries out," and the driver and warehouse not answering any calls. This is terrible customer service. I get that people run late, sometimes for reasons outside of their control, but why not call and update us? It's the least you can do for a delivery that's not going to arrive until MIDNIGHT. You better set aside 10 hours for these guys. 4 hour window is a joke. read more

Zero Stars! !! Chauvinistic Pigs!! Less Than Substandard Furniture! Lairs with Shitty Attitudes!!! Store looks nice they "seem" friendly; it's only skin deep!! Once you make the purchase they start not caring at all; when I say Not Caring I'm talking about Don't Give A Flying Shit About Anything Not Caring and Entitled Spoiled Rotten Brat Blaming it All on Your Incompetence! Not caring!! One of the absolute worst businesses ever!! When you call them you will never get the local store no matter how many times you press #2. Anybody you will get on the phone is extremely rude they will make every excuse in the book including lying to you! Your order will never arrive on time, it will never arrive all together, it will probably be broken, the quality is worse than IKEA! Don't worry about ever getting refunded you will never get your money back no matter what; it is absolutely ridiculous! We supposedly were to have one delivery which all items were suppose to be delivered at the same time it was a bundle set. After Ashley lied to us multiple times, changed the delivery date multiple times; we still did not get that furniture until almost 2 months later (delivery date they changed 5x's for the 1st shipment) at the wrong time, it came in multiple deliveries all deliveries came in at the wrong time, most of it was broken on delivery and had to be sent back which is a whole headache in and of itself, we are still waiting on the rest of the order which has yet to come in. There's been no apologies, no let me fix it, no compensation offered, plenty of excuses and blaming us. At one point I physically went into the store and while I was waiting for them to not accept responsibility and give me more excuses a professional business woman, a proper lady, came in because she couldn't get ahold of them on the phone either and had to take time off work to make contact! A male "floor representative" came up and started giving her a ration and treating her like an idiot, belittling her, as absolutely rude as a man-child could be. I had already had-it and proceeded to stick up for her, he had absolutely No right to treat her the way he did!! I did not let up on him and countered every excuse and B.S. remark he tried to make. I was very professional about it but stern! She like I was a business person who had paid good money for furnishings only to be treated like less than human, dog shit is treated better than we were!! Just to be clear we were not the only ones, upon speaking to individuals in the community we've learned this is Ashley's "M.O." I'm positive this happens all the time except for very very rare occasions. You would be better off building it yourself even if you have zero skills for doing so!! Go anywhere else!!! This review was written on behalf of myself and 4 other individuals and business persons who all experienced the exact same behaviors and chauvinistic experience. We are appalled!! I myself am still waiting on lamps and a rug. That's after couches were late and came in separate, coffee table and end tables separate and broken and had to be replaced with something different they arrived late and different from the chosen model. TV stand came broken as well. We've had no choice but to accept their chaos and wait, like I said no refunds!! The furnishings are going into a business and we had to redecorate several times and make a multitude of rescheduling events just to accommodate Ashley! Absolutely a terrible experience with this place, started out well with our salesman RON who let us look around for everything we planned to get and was available to answer all our questions and help us get everything we wanted. But then the trouble began, went back to order all our stuff and were double charged for over $5600 worth of furniture. So we were actually charged over $11,000 for our order. Upon discovering this error the next morning my wife went to the store and was told "oh no problem we will credit the adjustment right away", HA. So the next morning I checked our account and no credit had been posted, called the 800 number to try to get things straightened out. After 45 min or so on hold and waiting to talk to a supervisor was told would be 7 to 10 business day for credit to post. When told that local store said they would credit right away was but on hold for 20 more minutes before being hung up on and no call back. By this time redding store had opened so took trip there to try and figure out this situation. After being told would "probably" be credited amount of double charge by Monday at latest, so that makes almost a week from error to credit I found this unexceptable and had to cancel entire order as this is very bad business practice. We will never enter that store again for any purchase. read more

The worst customer service ever. We were told our bed set would be delivered on a set date we prepared for the delivery which included getting rid of our bed. The delivery people came they didn't have any of the pieces for the bed frame so we didn't receive it. As they were moving the other furniture up the stairs they dropped a piece which ended up damaging our wall. 2 weeks of sleeping on the floor, many phone calls and 6 open cases, we finally got the delivery of the bed which STILL had the wrong parts the bed wasn't the correct size we ordered a king and got a calking frame which means it was bigger than our mattress. After making ANOTHER case and never hearing anything back we had to modify the frame ourselves to properly fit the mattress. We were hung up one numerous times, cussed out, and getting treated like absolute SHIT. I finally got to talk to someone today after buying the furniture in February and they won't do anything about this. We were charged a $200 delivery fee which we were told we weren't getting charged and actually states on the website FREE DELIVERY, the fact that we had to go 2 weeks without a bed, the wall damage and the way we were treated. I spoke to the 'customer service manager' at this location today and he was very rude kept interrupting me and said they weren't going to do anything about it since we 'already got the stuff' when it says on our account that we have multiple open cases included the one about the delivery charge before we even got the furniture. I am extremely disappointed in the shipping section of Ashley Home Store. this time around. We bought a complete living room furniture set last year and were extremely impressed with them. This time we bought an entertainment center wall unit and have been trying to get it delivered. The day we had setup between 9 am and 1:30 am seemed to complicated for the warehouse. They called at ll:40 to tell us they were missing pieces of the shipment in the warehouse and could not deliver that day. They were supposed to call back the following day and after three days of lousy customer service I am frustrated. Worst experience ever. The sales people and the "office girls"as well as the managers will all seem friendly and helpful while you are in the store and they are taking your money. However, once you leave the store it is a different story. Not only is the furniture grossly overpriced, and not only do you have to spend hours haggling down prices to match what you can find somewhere else, but you also have to deal with the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. My wife and I ordered a couch, living room end tables and coffee table. Outdoor furniture for my wife's mom including table, chairs, plates, cups, and umbrella. We paid for their insurance/extended warranty for 5 years, what a joke. The delivery date was grossly under estimated and our furniture did not arrive for well over a month past the date that was promised. The outdoor furniture was missing bolts and screws which was not discovered until later. The living room couch was delivered with a bent frame which was called in less than 10 minutes after delivery. We took delivery in June and nothing was done to repair or replace the couch in spite of the over one dozen calls/in store visits, and it is already October. The couch still does not function correctly because the frame is bent so the recliner will not come out. Ashley furniture has made excuse after excuse and has neither sent out someone to fix the couch nor replaced it as promised. They have told us that they no longer make that couch, and that we needed to pick out another one. I was able to locate a newer version of the couch and after several weeks of negotiations they told us that the new couch was also no longer manufactured even though it lets me order one from their website. Ashley furniture wants us to pick out another couch and they want us to re-write the entire deal so that they can make more money. When I found another couch and I presented them with the competitors price they decided they did not want to attempt to match or even come close to the price this time (however they were willing to do it last time). Furthermore, the managers at the store have told me that they would be in contact with me after they had a chance to see how low they can get the price to go. This has happened multiple times in the past four months...we have never received a phone call from a manager. We always have to call-in and every time we are promised something Ashley furniture breaks their promise. I have had multiple women in the office tell me that something was done only to discover that when I went in person nothing was ever even recorded or noted. Ashley furniture management is a bunch of crooks and they have lost my business as well as the business of anybody that I know. I strongly recommend that you buy your furniture else where. We will be returning the furniture and I will update yelp and other social media with the names of the individuals involved in screwing us over. read more
