I really wish I had just gone to Ikea instead to purchase my furniture. I am trying to stay composed while writing this message, as I had just got off the phone with them for about the 10th time to try and get my furniture serviced.
I ordered furniture during the pandemic, and I understand that employees get sick and that could cause a delay in shipping. So my review isn't about timeliness (Although we did get our delivery delayed 4 times - I am not being dramatic, they called us 4 times to tell us it was going to be delayed) but the review is for customer service and being professional.
I'm assuming all the staff is working off commission so to start, they are trying to push you to buy as much as you can. We opted in to a full set of couches along with an end table and coffee table and even added the warranty. The person who helped us was happy, and in return, we had hoped that if anything goes wrong, they would be able to help us. We were completely wrong there.
I go back to the store to try and set up an appointment with the technician. Our tables came scratched and the recliner had been dropped by the delivery people so the arm was loose and dangling. We saw the person who had helped us prior and gave a friendly "hey! how's it going?" They acknowledged us and knew who we were, they said hi back and asked how the delivery was. We honestly said we weren't too happy and that was the reason why we came back...and they started to walk away. WALK, AWAY I kid you not. It was like from prior customer experiences that they knew it wasn't going to end well, so they walked away and hid in the back. 1st red flag. 2nd, I waited in the waiting area and the person at the table was free. Another salesperson came up to me asking if I needed help. Just when I thought things could turn around, when I mentioned that I needed help with a messed up delivery, he told me to just continue waiting where I was waiting and instead of grabbing someone to help me, like a shark, he went on to finding his next victim to make a sales pitch to. 2nd red flag. I can go on about how I got to my 3rd and 4th, 6th, maybe 9th red flag, but I just don't have the time and energy to really type out why I am so unhappy with Ashley Home Furniture. I SELDOM write reviews, let alone bad ones because I don't want to tarnish a business due to one bad experience. Give me 10 bad experiences back to back to back and I might as well type out a novel as to why you should not shop here. Oh, after waiting for a full hour on the phone to get the recliner fixed, they hung up on me, and another ordered the wrong part and forced me to call back again to get the part ordered and a technician scheduled to come back to fix the furniture. It's just not professional at all and very sloppy and unorganized.
One good thing about this location? The butt loads of free parking out front. That is how I justify that 1 star since yelp won't give me the option to put 0. read more
