I mentioned to Shawn about not leaving the doors open to keep the cat from running out and he incorporated my concerns into his kick off huddle with his team before they started. It's worth noting that I previously had a Lowes contractor give me a price for a generator install. Not only did the local Lowes contractor tell some fibs about what was required because of the Michigan Building Code (which I rebutted because I know the code and I offered a copy for him to show me the section right on the spot ) I was offered a lesser quality Generac generator (even after I told him I wanted Kohler) and a small limited circuit manual transfer switch. Nevertheless I sent him on his way and called Shawn. I have never looked back. Not only was Shawn's price reasonable he was lower than the other contractor and I got what I wanted to which was a Koehler generator and whole house automatic transfer switch so I didn't have to pick and choose what I wanted on the panel I am a contractor so I know the system.
