I wish I could leave more than 5 stars for Ashburn Electric. I called them and got a response in less than 24 hours, got our problems fixed less than 24 hours after that. I am one to thoroughly research and vet EVERYONE before I let them into my house to do any work. I mean, I created a consumers report account to research baby products for my registry. So when I saw Ashburn Electric raved about on a Facebook group, I looked them up on Yelp and saw they were highly rated here as well. I can now see why! Craig and his son were awesome. They installed a new ceiling fan in our two story family room. They showed up on time, moved furniture to gain access to the fan, replaced the fan, vacuumed the area rug to ensure the area was cleaner than they found it and put the furniture back in place. We have had lots of work done at our home and we rate Craig and his son amongst the best ever because of the little things they did that distinguishes great from good. Called Craig on a Thursday and because I couldn't take off on the Friday to meet with him, we scheduled to meet Saturday morning. He was very prompt, greeted me, took off his shoes, etc. He offered some great advice on getting my basement 'up to code' after my knucklehead contractor's 'work' and gave me what I thought was a great price for some 'odd jobs' I needed done. Craig was extremely professional installing recessed lights and bringing my home into the 21st century with a more modern look than the aged bronze chandelier and various lighting. His pricing was very fair and market rates for the work performed. Unfortunately, at last contact, Ashburn Electric has told me they moved into the commercial market and does not appear to be accepting additional residential work at this time. I have used Craig for about 3 projects around the house: 1) basement room finish - he wired all the outlets and put in switches for lights 2) range cooktop - he changed from 240v to 110v 3) double oven - he moved a box up so the plug from the new double oven would reach it Craig's great for a few reasons, #1 being he wastes zero time. You have guys who come in and you wonder what is taking them so long, not Craig. He is on a mission when he comes in and wants to get the job done and leave. He is also thorough, takes great pride in his work and knows his stuff. Lastly, his rates are not what I refer to as NOVA rates. He charges a fair price for his labor and not some amount that makes you want to do an hourly rate calculation and go back to school to be an electrician. I went on Angies List, Home Advisors and various sources before I called any Contractors. I called several Electrical Contractors, spoke with various individuals regarding the issues I had with several outlets and their availability to come out to evaluate and Price the Job. Ashburn Electric (Craig) was one of the companies I had setup an appointment but was the only company that would come out the next day Saturday. One of the review comments that appealed to me was Craigs customer service example based on our initial conversation and walk thru of the not only the issue I originally called for but various other issues and concerns Craig was very conscientious of suggesting the most inexpensive solution to get the best results (Value) for his time and materials (exceptional). The team immediately started troubleshooting the correcting the issues by replaced 3 outlets installed 2 bubble weather protection boxes for the outside outlets with caulking and installed a new outlet for the garage refrigerator. Graig also gave an estimate for Kitchen Lighting which included everything except paint. which for me is fine. Craig Made suggestions on alleviating a long time issue that was there since we purchase the house. The price we paid by the end was very reasonable. I gave them a call for an estimate on changing lines from 15 to 20 amps. We booked an appointment for the next day, "late morning, like 11:30am, 12ish". No one ever showed up. I don't usually write reviews but this one is well deserved. Needed a new 240 volt outlet installed in my kitchen for my new stove that Sears deliver and left because the outlet was missing. I called Ashburn Electric and left a message. Craig called me back in less than 20 min. gave a me price and he was able to come and do the work the same day!! He showed up with his son Mathew, both were extremely nice and they were able to get the outlet installed, they even helped in getting the stoved installed!!! Can't say enough great things about them. They will be coming back to install a 240 V 20 amp outlet in my garage so I can install a heater for the winter.
