I've been shopping at Ash Way Pet Supply since they opened about four years ago. They have great products, information/knowledge and the atmosphere in the store is really fun - including the shop's orange tabbies, Mac and Cheese. Their prices are competitive and fair. The variety of foods for dogs and cats is outstanding and include shelf lives. My dogs have NEVER experienced any problems with their frozen foods. In addition to providing excellent food and information, AWPS try their best to support "Made in USA" products. In fact - I think I'm going to go buy some new dog/cat beds - right now!! Quality pet food I don't have to drive 30 billion miles to buy! If you haven't noticed a trend in my reviews, I was more than a tad worried when we first moved up to SnohoCo. Fortunately, I was wrong- I can find great stores and services up north, with the bonus of lots of parking! Ash Way Pet Supply is another great find, they carry the brands my picky pets demand, and the owners are friendly and knowledgeable. The store cats, Mac and Cheese, are equally friendly and more than happy to show you how the kitty toys work. I even got my dogs' picture taken with Santa there, a fundraiser for a local shelter, and they house cats available for adoption from Purrfect Pals. They're open 7 days a week and are fabulously located near I-5, plus nice and smart owners, competitively priced food and toys, and those Mac and Cheese critters. What's not to love? read more

I hesitate to even give this company 1 star. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with in my entire 50+ years on this planet. Nasty, rude, demeaning, you name it, that's them. They will go 10 rounds in the ring with you over the smallest item, even when you are the one who's right and they are wrong. Their policy is, 'the customer is always wrong and we are always right'. I have never dealt with such horrible people and such horrific customer service as this company. I love this place. When my ferret was sick, he needed soft canned food that was pure chicken, or beef. I went to all of the pet stores looking for a canned food that was pure meat, and was unsuccessful in finding anything until I went to Ash Way Pet Supply. Their animal foods are good for your pet, I mean, if you really love your animals.. which I sure hope you do, then why would you feed them crap? When my ferret got better, I was looking to purchase some EVO ferret food and no store carried it, so I went back and the guy ordered it for me and had it the next day, he said if I wanted, he would add EVo to his shipment and would keep it stocked just for me. Stopped in to see the selection and check prices as I was feeding a diet that doubles for my cat and ferrets. The owner was more than helpful saying they decided not to carry it due to it being owned by a larger company who do animal testing and although it was a big money maker, it didn't sit well with his morals but he would order it if it was what worked for my cat. We talked about foods and he was very open with us when we asked but not pushy and we decided out ferrets can continue their other foods without the food in question and we left with a bag of food our cat has done well on in the past. read more

Thought it was a very clean and convenient location when we first walked in. Then I made the error of making a phone call. They treated me as if I had nothing important to say or that my questions were unimportant, she even put me on hold and hung up on me. Incredibly rude staff....Could not believe how awful these folks were over the phone when in person it was night and day. I had some questions for the groomer and was treated very disrespectfully on the phone. The cashier was undoubtedly one of the most cruel, rude and unprofessional people I have ever encountered on the phone, she even hung up on me. The cashier didn't seem to want to take any time to help me with any questions about products that I had...I even tried to make an appt to get my dog groomed, and they would not help me. She hung up on me after claiming that I had not answered her question fast enough and saying that there was another call coming in. I called back after about 10 minutes and the groomer then answered the phone, she was rude and just wanted to get off the phone. When I was in the store they were very kind, Amy and Nicole were so kind and helpful. I was mesmerized by the selection and how nice Amy and Nicole were, I even asked if I could bring in my dog so the groomer could meet him and let me know if he would be compatible with her, she told me that they would love to groom my dog and call at some point and give them some information. When I called Amy on the phone in order to give the information she requested, she told me that they were just being "polite" and do not want my grooming business. Which, after having read the negative reviews is a great thing, saved my dog from a terrible experience. So, Amy, THANK YOU for being so rude and turning us away, you saved my dog a terrible experience like the other 10 complaints I have read about on Yelp about your grooming. Knowing how nasty they were , I can only imagine how terribly they would have been to my dog, like they have done to the other poor people that have left negative reviews. I am so glad you were so rude and offensive, telling me in store that she would love to help me with grooming my dog and that she would be happy to have us as a client...then being disrespectful on the phone and telling me that you don't want to take on another pet to groom, telling us that you were just being "polite" in the store. That is extremely unprofessional and rude to lead someone on like that, you even gave us your business card, you should have just told us right then and there you don't have room, there was NO need to be so nasty on the phone. She even told us negative stories about her previous employer, telling us that they would take very good care of our dog. There is no politeness in lying to someone, if we had known this before hand we would never have wasted our time calling and we would still be shopping for our food and treats for our animals there, now, I will never go back to this store. It was absolutely shocking how rude they were on the phone...they made us feel TERRIBLE about just wanting more information. You want my advice, stay away, they are very rude people and you are better off going elsewhere, especially if you read the past reviews on Yelp...people finding their dogs chained to the wall, with no water. I cannot imagine how horrified I would be to find my dog in that condition. Our animals are members of our family, it is anathema as to how they have treated past dogs, so thank you for being so horrendous on the phone to us, you really saved us a grooming nightmare. You can reply to this all you want to try and make us look like the bad guy here, like you have in past negative reviews, but as far as we are concerned the girl who answered the phone took out her frustrations on us, as did the groomer. Blaming your client is no way to run a business. There is no reason for any of this to have happened, ANY OF IT. We were new customers! Naturally we had questions for the groomer, I am shocked that this is the way they treat new clients. We were patient, kind, respectful and even asked the groomer to call back when she has time, that we understand she is busy. She then called us as she was "on the way out the door" and was very rude and hurtful. She left no time for questions, which in hindsight is clear that she just didn't want our business, especially since you could tell she did not want to call us back. If you didn't want our business, the respectful, and proper thing is to tell us when we ask, not give us all your information and prices and tell us to call later, then when we call, be rude and tell us that you have no time for another pet. You wasted our time, and made our day terrible with how rude you were on the phone. We were excited that we found a groomer that was nice and wanted to help, glad and happy to keep looking after having read the grooming reviews and how nasty she is to clients and pets. read more

He was literally tied up to the wall about 4 feet high with MAYBE a 6 ft leash. He was barely able to move around. I had to run to release him immediately as soon as I saw what was going on. I regret not taking a screenshot of your original reply because it was truly shocking to read such an awful response from a business. People would have seen that you only see dogs as money but not a companion family member to their owners. HOWEVER, if you are thinking about dropping your dog while you are doing your own business like you would with other grooming place, go somewhere else. This is a very important information should've given to a customer up front. Not only I was not informed, I was preached about how great the way they run business like that at the same time while I was complaining about how it was so inconvenienced and I had to pay cancellation fee for my schedule yet I paid full price for grooming and not offered about comp service. We were literally told that we have to come pick him up right then while we were driving to my doctors appointment. It is not about the money I paid them for a service, but more about a horrible experience my dog had to go through. I have been going to Ashway for my dog's grooming for several years now, but during my last visit they mentioned I had no showed/no called two appointments. This is not like me and I apologized profusely. I booked another appointment and requested a reminder call just in case. The appointment went smoothly so I called to book another several month later. The women who tried to schedule the appointment stated I had a "warning" on my account, no show/no call. Again, I apologized but this time I was very put off. I do not need to be berated everytime I make an appointment. This is not good costumer service and since they don't value me as a costumer, I will find somewhere else for my pup!! read more

UPDATE- I came back in and had another gal (sheri?????) do my pups. She did a fantastic job! Ash way pets really showed that they wanted to make things right and I really appreciate that. My pups both came out looking gorgeous and im very pleased. I will be coming back for grooming as long as its not the original gal (susette). Thank you ash way pets!!!! I really want to like this place but.... Im just not impressed or happy! I took my yorkie and tiny teacup Maltese( 3lbs) in a few months ago for full service grooming. I was so excited that this place was so close to me and i really like that they do one dog at a time and use hand dryers. A few things I noticed the first time - a sweet dog on the table, the groomer walked away from the table over to the grooming computer area leaving the pup alone, and joining in the conversation and answering some questions I had. I felt a little uncomfortable and kept looking at the pup on the table. The pup started getting restless and almost got choked out as it was falling off the table. She ran over and said "he is just acting up" that definitely was a red flag to me. First for leaving the dog their second for saying the dog was acting up. Im sorry but no dog should be expected to sit their as your talking and instead of showing some love to the pup you make comments like that. Its stressful enough for most dogs to be at the groomers they don't need to be treated that way. I got my dogs groomed and was not overly impressed as they both were uneven and choppy and she didn't listen to how I said i wanted their faces but cut. Despite all of that I made another apt for this last Wednesday. This time just for a face, feet and fanny. She asked me how I wanted their faces done and I told her I like their faces fuller and round ( last time she made both their faces very narrow) I told her no need to clip Much around the face just round it as im trying to grow it back out. She asked me how I wanted my yorkie's ear done etc. I told her im trying to grow out their hair to make better top knots so she didn't need to really do much their but I do want their eye and nose area done well. First thing I noticed When I picked up my dogs was that my Maltese's face didn't look like it was done at all. I got in the car and saw Her ears weren't clipped or rounded she looked shabby still. I went back in the shop and saw her sitting on her phone texting while a poor little dog was sitting in the tub drenched shivering to death. I felt so bad for the pup. I asked her if she could please trim up the ears. She made a comment saying she normally doesn't do the ears but that she would do it for me (I thought that was weird since I assumed that's part of the package and considering she asked how I wanted my yorkies ears done) She clipped her ears fast. ( she did a horrible job as they were all choppy and uneven) i got home and was so disappointed! The bow thing she put on both my dogs hair was all tangled in both their pony tails both were matted around it. I couldn't believe it it took so long trying to get those out of both their hair. It was horrible. Not to mention my Maltese had nothing trimmed or shaved on her face eye and nose area was not done at all And her face was narrowed AGAIN I told her I wanted it rounded and was trying to grow it back out! After examining her it didn't look like she got trimmed at all. Her "fanny " area was not done at all either! Same with my yorkie narrowed face. She did attempt to do a little on her face but it looked really bad and choppy. And she clipped her bangs really short even though I told her not to that I was trying to grow it out! She just didn't listen to anything I asked. I am so disappointed and even regret tipping. I feel so ripped off!!!!! read more

I used to take our pug who we no longer have, when we lived in the area. The folks in the store are wonderfully friendly and sweet. I adore the their cats, Mac N Cheese! I lean towards the canine kind, but I think this lil guy changed my mind, Cheese is too loveable and sweet for words! I had Cheese following me around last Friday all over the store. Their products are wonderful and I highly recommend them for all you cat and dog owners. They're all natural and you can tell they are made with all quality ingredients. Went here based on Yelp reviews. They were great! Our dog was taken in right away, no waiting in a cage. The groomer reviewed what I wanted and took her right to the bath. We have a large Golden and they handled her with care. She was done at the promised time and looked very good. Trimmed just as we asked and looked like a proper Golden Retriever. Other places we have taken her too chopped off way to much hair. We'll be coming back, great groomers. read more

I have been a customer of Ashway Pet Supply since practically day one when they opened up on Ashway, Tracy and Eddie have been my go to for most questions regarding the best way to keep my dogs healthy and happy. When my Golden Retriever was breaking out in hives and I was about to undergo expensive testing at the vet's office, they recommended to me that we eliminate chicken and egg from his diet, this cleared up his hives and I avoided the expense of testing. He is now 9 years old and after a emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage (he got in the trash) the vet said she has never seen such healthy insides of a retriever his age. :) And tonight I stopped in for advice on a barking collar for my mini dachshund who is bothering the neighbors with her nonstop barking when we aren't home. Tracy handed me a humane collar that uses vibration or high frequency sound to deter the barking instead of shock. After a test run, it seems it will do the trick; once again Ashway Pet Supply comes to my rescue. read more

This is mine and my dog's favorite pet store! I can't say enough nice things about this place. Everyone is so helpful and knowable, and they carry really neat and unique toys and treats that I can't find anywhere else. The owners really make sure that they only sell high quality food and pet supplies. I adore my golden retriever and feel good knowing that whatever I buy here will be good for my Penny girl. Amy the groomer is so awesome. She really knows her stuff and keeps Penny's ears (which are really hard for most groomers to be able to do correctly) looking like she is ready to go to a dog show. Terrific little spot to get friendly advice or help and to pick up the essentials for your little furry friends or four legged children. I have four cats and am always in need of some little goodies for them and even though there are some other local pet stores closer to my home this place always seems to be my destination for my family. The staff are always really helpful and provide suggestions for my little family of fur and allow me to play with their little guys Mac and Cheese (the two friendly cats at the store). We love this place! Our dog, Uma, is scared of other dogs and hates baths. What we love about this place is that not only do they do a great grooming job but there isn't a long line of dogs to be groomed. Uma gets a one on one special attention and is not freaked out by the sight of several dogs. For her it is like going to a spa versus a salon! They couldn't cure her hatred for baths but the ambience there certainly helps a lot! Plus they have a great selection of food and toys and the owners are truly pleasant to deal with. read more

Great selection of quality pet items for both dogs and cats. I love the location-- it's easy to get to from Lynnwood and Mill Creek, directly across from the Ash Way Park & Ride. There is plenty of parking in the back, and the guy who works there is knowledgeable and friendly. They are also very supportive of local pet adoption/ rescue organizations; there is literature near the checkout so that it is available but yet not proselytized. read more

I have been a frequent shopper with Ash Way Pet Supply for a while now, but I will not be returning. I had made an appointment to have my dog groomed a couple of weeks ago for yesterday the 1st at 11AM. Upon my arrival yesterday the store was dark and I didn't see anyone inside the store. I called the store phone number to make sure that the store was opening yesterday to double check and the woman said she was running late. When she opened the store she said, "11:01, only a minute late." I didn't appreciate the annoyance the woman presented to me because of my call to make sure they were still opening. I walked to the counter and tried to make light of the awkwardness by saying, "I'm sorry, I just called to make sure I had the time right." As I stood there an older gentleman with a dog walked inside to the grooming register and was getting checked in. After a few minutes the woman looked at me and asked if I was there to purchase something or if I had an appointment. I told her that I had an appointment at 11AM. She looked at the groomer and asked if she had two appointments at 11AM and the groomer rudely said, "Nope! I have Bella right now." The woman then asked for my dogs name and then said my appointment was at 1PM and that she could put my dog in a kennel. The whole problem that I have with this situation is that the groomer and the woman working there were not apologetic AT ALL. They were both extremely rude and treated me as if it was my fault that they made a mistake with appointments and that it was rude of me to call to make sure they were opening. I'm sorry, but they didn't open at 11:01. I could have been just as rude since I rushed to Lynnwood from downtown Seattle just to make my appointment. It is highly inconvenient for me to come in when I was supposed to and then be treated as if I was the jerk. I know for sure that my appointment was at 11AM because I had called and changed it to 11AM. I'm surprised that the woman working there that day acted like that because I've seen here many times before. I won't be shopping there again. read more

Yea I'm a fan, been shopping there since just after they opened. Basically a pet food store with few other items. A little worried in the beginning that they wouldn't make it, kind in a low traffic area. Prices aren't a whole lot higher than the big pet stores, a lot better quality. Watch for specials they are big money savers. Nice people, Mac and Cheese are the best (if you don't know, go in and ask). They are moving soon to newer/bigger diggs, let's hope the prices don't move up as well. read more

We have been customers since shortly after they opened (about 4+ years now) and will continue to be customers as long as we live in this area. Eddie & Tracy are fantastic! When I do my routine cat food & supply shopping it's like talking to some good friends, you will never feel pressured to buy something. Sometimes I even just stop by when I'm in the area to say hi to Mac and Cheese (the store cats) and to meet the new cats they foster from Purrfect Pals and NOAH. Eddie helped us find the right food after our male cat suffered from urinary crystals. The vet tried selling us on Science Diet dry food, but Eddie knew that dry food was not the way to go and explained to us what the newest research found to be the cause of crystal buildup. Our kitty-boy has been happily munching on just the right kind of wet food and has been crystal free for 4 1/2 years (we were told that there was a very high chance of him getting crystals again within a year or 2 of his surgery), and our kitty-girl lost a few extra pounds in the process, so double good! Are the prices higher than at Petco & Petsmart? Sure, but the quality of the product is far superior, and my pets are worth the extra few dollars. I only buy quality food for me and my family, why should it be any different for my pets? And the people at Petsmart and Petco sure wouldn't know me and my family by name and know exactly what I came in to buy - that's something you will only get from a Ma & Pa shop. I wish Eddie & Tracy and their 3 cute kids only the best and hope they are very prosperous in their new location. read more

In the past we have taken our dogs here to be groomed and were very pleased with our service and the dogs were very happy! However the last time we went the groomer was someone different and we were VERY UNHAPPY. When we came to pick up the dogs they looked funny. The hair cut was awful on their face and ears. We also had an expensive Flea collar on one of our dogs that we had recently put on him and it was missing. The flea collar is so expensive because you only need to replace every 7 months. We have always taken our dog in with this Flea collar and it has always been on when we picked him up. We didnt realize it was missing until we were on our way out of town. The dogs were also acting very sad after we picked them up which is extremely out of character for them. It took a couple of days for them to be back to their happy selves. I won't be going back to Ash Way again. Something has drastically changed there. read more

Not only are they considerably more expensive than Mud Bay, but their quality is way worse. The bag of frozen food we had to return was so filled with frost bite you could barely see the food, and when I scraped away the ice you could clearly see how discolored it was. That is when I remembered the guy telling me months ago that his freezer was broken. You would think that after months of knowing about a faulty freezer that holds food they would have gotten a new one or had it fixed. I mean how cheap are these people?? It is a major risk to feed your animals food from this place. These people not only have had a broken freezer for months but they are actually still selling food out of it that has gone bad. Then, when we went in to talk to them about it, the husband was cool about it over the phone and again admitted to knowing about his faulty freezer and said we could have our money back, but the wife was unbelievably rude. I mean crazy crazy rude. This lady should not be allowed to deal with customers. EVER. I have a few choice words to describe her, believe me. If these people sell bad food, what other corners are they cutting to get an extra buck? I just might "get Jesse" on this one. Do yourself and your fuzzy friends a favor and go to Mud Bay or All The Best Pet Care or some place like that who is guaranteed to have working equipment, good service, and more reasonable prices. read more
