After 3 cleanings, I can confidently recommend these folks. I don't say that lightly-- I've had some bad experiences and am very cautious who I invite in to do work. They made it so easy to schedule, for starters... and the prices are very reasonable. I've had the carpet steaming service (excellent!) as well as a move out cleaning and then a move-in service. Everyone was lovely-- and also very considerate in wearing masks as requested. All the work was thorough and efficient. Just as advertised! Extremely disappointed with this company's service. I have a condo that needed cleaning before move in. I asked for two full baths, one half bath, and the kitchen to be cleaned. Ash Maids had the best prices in the area so I decided to try them out. I'm glad I was there for the first part of it! They called me into the bathroom to ask my opinion of the work done on the first bath- the tiled baseboards were still covered with dust and the vanity drawers were filled with hairs from the previous tenants. They went over the bathroom again but I left before I could see the final product of all the requested rooms. I arrived the next day to find an extremely POOR job done in the kitchen. I only asked for 4 rooms to be done, not the entire property, and they didn't do their best work at all. There was still dust on surfaces, dirt on the floors, and grease on counter tops. I called and asked for a refund but they refused and instead offered for them to come back the next day and clean again at noon. Noon comes and goes and the cleaners are no where to be found. They arrive two hours late and re-clean the kitchen. The last thing I want to do is stand over someone (let alone wait for them for two hours prior) when they are doing their job but if you can't do it right the first time, what am I to expect of you from doing it the second time? We have been using Ash Maids for years, since they first started around 2006. They do a thorough cleaning job for our townhome and if I've had any issues I contact the manager Mo Adil and he'll address the issue or have the Team came back to my home to re-clean that area. Recently, we hired-on a new maid service due to several issues, but this new company charged more, cleaned less detailed areas of our home, had a rigid/inflexible cleaning schedule where you could never adjust your monthly cleaning day, didn't clean thoroughly, showed up late a lot, or never came with no call or text from the owner to explain why, in addition to constantly receiving texts from the owner asking "please send me proof of payment", in so many words! It was becoming Ridiculous! This company also had the exact same issues or worse than we had with Ash Maids, but charged more and the owner was overwhelmed with too many clients, could never fully address my issues and was greedy. So, why pay more to deal with the same problems?! We are ones who can't afford to pay a large monthly fee for cleaning services, a good service or one that's not bonded or insured may be cheaper, but others that have all the credentials are very pricey! After 6 months of this dealing with this other company, I fired them and called Ash Maids to bring them back-on as our maid service. Ash Maids can accommodate our monthly cleaning day and they're flexible to move the date if-needed and we've had no issues so far. There are hundreds of maid services in this area, but I needed a reliable and a good one that's reasonably priced, but I don't need perfect because the don't exist, well they do, but at a 'price', if you're able to pay that, more power to you! Plus, just a few weeks ago the company I fired called me to confirm my cleaning appt with them, I just had to laugh! They are friendly, do a nice job cleaning the house for a reasonable price, and they are dependable - they have never missed a scheduled appointment with us in 15 years. On the rare occasion when an item has been damaged, the manager has always been very gracious in offering to reimburse us for the replacement cost. I wish I could give zero stars, because I have never dealt with a more incompetent company in my life. They NEVER showed up on time. They ALWAYS missed things when cleaning. The representatives on the phone would quote one price, then they'd charge a different price to our credit card. We'd have to call them multiple times to make sure that they would actually perform the services requested, such as a deep clean, steam cleaning carpets, move out clean etc. The manager blamed us when they screwed up on numerous occasions. We interviewed several companies before choosing this one. They were professional when they came out, answered our questions thoroughly, and seemed to be the perfect fit for us. They arrived 15 minutes after the time slot we were given. They were very nice and personable. We kept out of their way to allow them to do their job. We were told it would take the two of them 2 hours to clean our house. They spend about an hour upstairs cleaning, which we thought was a bit excessive as half of the upstairs doesn't even get used. When they came to the main floor, we went upstairs to give them full run of the main floor and kitchen area to do their job. About an hour later (to clean the main living area and entry floor mind you) they said they were finished. We were quoted $225 for a deep, spring clean to include cleaning the windows. They weren't cleaned. My husband said that we would pay $180 because the windows were not cleaned. They dropped their gear, went back upstairs and cleaned the bottom part of the windows. We were not happy. Then we started looking at the "deep clean" that was completed. The bathroom floors were barely swept and mopped. There was hair in the corners and the difficult corner by the shower wasn't even touched. Then we went downstairs to the kitchen and main floor. The baseboards, which is a regular service, were sloppily cleaned or not even cleaned at all. The kitchen wasn't dusted. The dining room table was dusted but neither the chairs nor the stools were dusted. The area rug under the table wasn't vacuumed. That's when I realized the hardwood floors in the dining room and kitchen were not even swept or mopped. Then we went downstairs to the entry level. They didn't bother to clean under the entryway rugs. I have photos taken after the first cleaning. I honestly had to stop looking because I was just getting more and more upset. I know there was probably more that didn't get cleaned. I didn't even bother with the second one. At this point, we called to ask for a re-clean because we weren't happy and didn't feel we got our $225 worth in this "deep spring" clean. They sent the same two women back this weekend. And they had attitude and wanted to argue with us when we pointed all the things they didn't clean the first time around. We were told another deep clean would be performed. Nope. They were only in our house 40 minutes. I would not recommend this company. I've lost $225 and will now have to pay for another service to come in and do an initial deep clean. Don't let the price and the professional manner fool you. This company is just not worth the trouble. They didn't even offer a refund since we were so dissatisfied. Hopefully the next company we try perform a better "deep" clean than this one. I mean, didn't even clean the kitchen floor. I just can't get over that. read more

I called to ask about service telling them I was looking for someone to do the things I don't have time to do including the baseboards, ceiling fans, wiping down walls, and windows. I was told this is included in first time cleaning. None of these items were addressed. I also had a item broken that they did not tell me about. I called the office and was told the manager would call me back as soon as the ladies got back into the office and she talked with them. She never called so I called her Monday morning. Nothing offered for the broken item but did send them out to wipe "half" the baseboards and sides of ceiling fan blades. They never moved anything out to get all the baseboards. Hi, I feel my house was not cleaned properly as expected. For example the oven, fridge and kitchen appliances were not cleaned. I expected the windows and floors to be better cleaned. The workers just cleaned around furnishers and did not even bother to even move the mats or small carpets. To say the least, I am really displeased on the basement cleaning as well. The manager was very nice they sent me 2 cleaning ladies that only spoke spanish. One of them was on her phone, shouting loudly in spanish in front of me while she was cleaning. She didn't even care to look at me when I was trying to talk to her how they preferred payment. They were so in a hurry they didn't finish cleaning my house and trash in bathroom was all over the floor . The lady was on the phone complaining to the manager she had to be somewhere else. Really bad job. Would never ever use this company again. Disappointed is an understatement. We have had Ash Maids for several years now and will continue to use them. Using this service is much more convenient over the individual we used for 30 odd years as they are flexible if we want a change (and the individual wasn't able to be as she worked alone); they come in 2 or 3s which makes the whole thing go faster; and I don't feel as if I have to pay them when we go on vacation as I did with the individual. And all the taxes are taken care of as they are not my employees. So that is why I like a service! But in particular I like Ash Maids as they are well trained and work very methodically and conscientiously. I think their charges are very reasonable. As to them doing things like baseboards and ceiling fans they will if you want to pay for the extra hours to do a deep clean but you cannot expect that kind of cleaning on a regular basis. Never get on yelp or leave reviews for good, bad or indifferent, but this particular experience warranted some action... My wife and I had used Ash Maids for almost a year and were preparing to move out of our townhouse in Manassas. Up until that point, service had been spotty at best with "miscommunications" scattered everywhere in between. The crew was almost never at the house at the designated times, the info in the email confirmations I received prior to service was NEVER correct, and the house was never nearly as clean as we expected often times leading us to clean after. All that said, we remained with Ash Maids simply because we were moving soon and didn't want to go through the trouble of finding another maid service. Fast forward to 2 days ago, when we had scheduled a "Move out" cleaning along with a "carpet steam cleaning" for a total price of $275. I was sure I was getting a great deal! We had painters in the home so I had scheduled Ash Maids to come between 2-4 PM, plenty of time for the paint to dry and the maids to clean w/o interruption. I received a phone call at 1 PM saying that my credit card had been declined, they had already run the card PRIOR to cleaning my home. I informed the young lady, Janet, that I would give them my credit card once the cleaning had been done to my satisfaction, and to please make sure the cleaning ladies weren't in the home before 2 PM. She agreed and there was no issue. 15 mins later I got a phone call from a manager, Mo, who informed me that if I did not give them my new credit card info, then they would not come out and service the home, that running the card prior to a service was "standard practice" and that they do it all the time. We went back and forth for a moment, but my back was against the wall as this was my last day in the house before a new resident took over, so begrudgingly, I gave my credit card. I arrived at my townhouse to check on my painters at 1:30 PM, sure enough Ash Maids had been there for 15 mins already... of course this caused my painters to stop what they were doing and make way. I called Ash Maids and let them know that their crew was early despite my asking Janet to keep them out. I was irritated, but it wasn't until I checked my bank account to see that they had charged me $505 for the service, not the $275 agreed upon price. I went ballistic. I called back, for the 4th or 5th time that day, and proceeded to let Janet know that she would be refunding the $230. I was rude to her, dropping several F bombs in between. She said she would take care of it and apologized profusely, then asked if I would like to speak to a manager. I absolutely wanted to, however, a manager wasn't available so they were to call me back asap. 20 mins later, I got Mo again. After Janet had been so apologetic over the phone truly handled the situation, refunding me the excess monies owed back to me, Mo proceeded to tell me that it was "IMPOSSIBLE" for a member of HIS crew to make that kind of a blunder and that he would refund me NOTHING if the "move out" clean and "carpet steam cleaning" were performed. All this with his maids currently in my house and a steam cleaner on the way. After roughly 10 mins of yelling back and forth over the phone, highly professional on his part, I told him that if he is going to agree to one price ($275) and then charge people several hundred dollars more than agreed upon, he is a CROOK. I informed him that I would be going onto yelp and other review sites online and he threatened me, letting me know that "YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT GOES ONLINE, YOU DON'T THINK I KNOW WHAT YOU DO AND WHERE YOU WORK TOO" insinuating that apparently he's done his homework on me and he would be tracking me down in my personal life as well. Unsettling to say the least. My back against the wall, the townhouse needing to be cleaned and with Mo threatening to pull the ladies out, I kept him on the phone long enough to strike a deal, $330 for everything and that I might consider using Ash Maids in my new home. Whatever it took to get this terrible crew, this obviously delusional manager, and this endless saga of miscommunications and poor service out of my hair. To conclude, and to hopefully leave some clarity for whomever from Ash Maids stumbles upon this... I will never, ever allow you in my home again. I'll also see to it that no family, friends or casual acquaintances dial your number as well. read more

RUN THE OTHER WAY!!! this is a terrible service. I called them because our normal lady was unable to come this week who comes on a monthly basis. Prior to them arriving(3 days prior), I had vacuumed our entire apartment, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, and we had already dusted. I called them and they sad their first cleaning for my size apartment was $165 and then it would go down to $120/month if we decided to move forward. I thought it was very expensive but I really wanted to get someone in before the weekend and I think they may have taken advantage of that. I really should have read their yelp reviews. They came as a 2-woman team and started cleaning. They lacked attention to detail from the beginning. One started on the master bath while the other started on the guest bath. When they were done with those, I peeked into the bathroom and saw that our rugs were not properly placed, items in the shower were all knocked around, and the toiletries were in disarray. I thought, no biggie, it will get fixed prior to them leaving but it didn't. I continued to stay out of their way, moving from room to room so that I was not in the room they cleaned. While sitting in the master bedroom, I heard big thuds and things crashing(glass objects) from our family room area, so of course I got up and ran over. One of the ladies who was vacuuming had knocked over a bunch of candles, a picture frame, and a crystal glass award. Now nothing broke and she quickly said that out loud too which I am glad but if you are cleaning around certain fragile items, wouldn't you think you want to be a little more gentle. Oh and by the way, they were not dusting, she was actually vacuuming so she must have hit the bookcase/entertainment center pretty hard to have knocked these things off balance. Since they didn't break, I went back to my bedroom as they continued to clean. Then after about 1.5-1.75 hours of cleaning, the lady comes to me and says can you inspect the apartment. I looked around, the bathrooms were still not good, so I had them fix a few things, then I looked at our windows which were not cleaned(windexed) at all! I asked them if they cleaned the windows and they said "no", I asked if that was included in the cleaning, and they said "yes", so as confused as I was, I asked them to clean it because it should have been done and it clearly wasn't. Again, lack of attention to detail. I don't want to babysit a cleaning company especially paying $165. I want to open the door for you to come in so you can come in to clean my place, then open the door as you leave my place leaving my place spotless, and not the way it was when you walked in. If you read this far, I encourage you not to use them, feel free to get a hold of me if you want more details. I did speak to the supervisor who let me know that I can have them come back out for free within 24 hours but I work and I took off yesterday so I could be home, I cant take off again to be home for you. And then she offered a $25 credit on my next cleaning, there is NO WAY, I will be using you again. And then she offered a $25 refund so that I would remain their customer and not write a review but that isn't fair to my readers. We had Ash Maids clean our home in preparation for a gathering. The cleaning was effective at best. They were instructed to clean inside the coat closet due to its anticipated use during the gathering. However, the accordion door to our coat closet was damaged upon their departure. More specifically, the track for the accordion door was bent, probably due to improperly closing or opening the door. When we called the company and asked for them to refund us the estimated repair cost or to fix the issue, the opted to fix the issue. It just so happens that our contractor, the one who installed the door earlier that week, stopped by for payment. He took a look at the door and jury-rigged it for temporarily. However, he explained that since the track is now damaged, it has to be replaced to prevent the doors from falling off and hurting someone or causing further damage. The technician came and looked at the door, then said everything was fine. Completely ignoring the fact that the door track was damaged. I spoke with a manager who says the ladies claim they didn't touch the accordion doors. My question was, how was that possible if they were supposed to clean in the coat closet. Instead of going back and forth over the phone or text I explained that if the company refuses to take responsibility for the damage then we will have to escalate things higher to reach a solution. Ash Maid had a good reputation with us until this incident. The cleaning ladies denied cleaning a section of the house we asked them to clean and the Techs didn't seem very helpful at all. They seemed more interested in quickly glazing over the issue and doing as little work as possible. My advice is have a camera in your house when these people clean because if they damage something they will not own up to it and they will not repair it. read more
