Cool people, cool place, and even better cider…read more People's Cider Company is one of the few places, as a woman, that I feel 100% safe to leave my drink unattended. The owner, regulars, and bartenders are like surrogate brothers/sisters and watch out for everyone there - new acquaintances and old friends. Everyone is marvelously welcoming, and the place has a quirky local pub vibe. The place is small and intimate, so you don't walk in without walking out with new friend. I have brought my young daughter here for years (we grab a Fanta from next door at Chicago Style Gyro for her - that glorious place is a whole other 5 star review) and the people here treat her like their beloved niece. This will be the place she celebrates her 21st at. The cider here is unimaginably delicious. The seasonal selections and the staple flavors are all wins. Devout beer-only drinkers, hard cider experimenters, and cider connoisseurs will find something delicious to drink there. And every dollar stays local -with all local ingredients and local production. I highly recommend stopping by in summer to experience grabbing a cold mug of PCC cider, finding a seat in their patio, and watching the cars go by while the sun sets over Leonard. And the hot cider in winter is soul soothing especially while watching the snow blow outside.

Let me tell ya the cider at Peoples is not your 1990s cider at all--it was awesome!! I had the Ginger Adams--3x(still got that beer mentality where ya stick to the same beer all night) but my comrades tried a variety of ciders where each had their own unique tastiness: sweet for the Zema crowd and different levels of dry for the more traditional drinker-afficionado. The environment is fantastic as well--small, small Irish pub with some vinyl you can request to be played. The barkeep shook my hand and introduced himself with my first order. This place gives ya hope in the fact that others in the world still accept all types of people as PEOPLE. There was definitely a regulars group present but just like diehard Lions fans, we were welcomed aboard with enthusiasm. My new favorite pub in GR--in fact the only authentic genuine pub in the city. Love it!

The entire family came, the weather was perfect, the kids played board games, and the adults actually got to relax for a minute, which honestly felt like a small miracle. The staff were incredible. Genuinely some of the nicest people I've ever met. They were welcoming, helpful, and so much fun that before long we were singing along with them like we had known them forever. And the boy band playlist was absolutely fantastic. I'm talking the kind of playlist that has you suddenly questioning why you ever stopped listening to boy bands in the first place. When I Want It That Way came on, there was really only one appropriate response: tell me why. The ciders were crisp, refreshing, and really enjoyable. Between the food trucks, outdoor seating, fire pits, string lights, board games, music, and just the overall atmosphere, this is the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile. We kept saying we should probably head out soon, but then another song came on, somebody grabbed another drink, and suddenly we were approaching closing time. Great drinks, great people, great atmosphere, and a place where the whole family can actually have a good time. We'll definitely be back.

Their mix of ciders includes options for all pallets ranging from sweet to non sweet and some dry options. My favorite was the rhubarb lime (semi-sweet). There is an abundance of seating available and multiple fire pits with seating if you want something even cozier. You can bring your kids, your dog, your friends and family here. There is always a large range of visitors and everyone is always super friendly. A great spot for some nice outdoor pictures, as well. In the winter they do igloos. I can't wait to bring my friends to an igloo this winter! The staff here are so friendly and bathrooms are kept really clean. They also serve some baked goods, like donuts and they are really good! There is a fridge inside with canned coder if you want to take some home! Parking lot is big and if they are super busy, they sometimes have an employee helping direct where to park. As I was reading the Michigan BrewTrail magazine I ran across their advertisement page, and was confused that it had a Grand Rapids address so It prompted me to do a little research. After a deep dive I found out that they are a farm/farmers market and a restaurant, cider/winery. If you Yelp search you won't find their restaurant, cider/winery because it pops up as Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market. This new Pink Barrel Cellars page should help separate this from just a farmers market, and help highlight some of their amazing food and drink. I went on their last day of live music according to their online schedule. When I showed up the parking lot was full and there was well over 100 people there. If you go inside you will immediately notice that this place is so much more than a farmers market. In the back they have a bar serving some amazing ales, seltzers, stouts, ciders, and wine by the glass. In the middle they have fresh donuts, wine by the bottle, fresh fruits and vegetables for sale. Near the front they have a food stand. All the employees were spectacular and very informative. I had many questions, and they were all very Knowledgeable. Found out they have a few beers that have won national beer awards. For lunch I wound up ordering the pretzel with beer cheese, and ordered a honeycrisp ale. The shareable size of the menu isn't joking. It's very large and you're gonna want to share. I was so full after my pretzel that I couldn't even think about a second beer. The beer cheese was the BEST beer cheese I've ever eaten in my life. It was out of this world. The beer was also pretty spectacular. The beer was so good that I couldn't resist the urge to buy some wine by the bottle with the hopes it was just as good. I enjoyed everything at their outdoor seating while listening to live music. If I had gone with someone I definitely would of taken advantage of cornhole and drank wine by the glass. After eating I couldn't resist walking around the farm that had a ton of people running and smiling. In the back I observed the piggies, Eddie and Joe, napping. Also got to say hi to their pony's and goats . I walked through the orchard, and also the pick your own pumpkin patch. They have a huge slidefor the kids, and a playground. Highly recommend following this place on social media to stay up to date on menu changes, and event updates. Such an eventful Sunday afternoon. Definitely worth the visit.

They do have signs for it on the highway, however I would definitely suggest using your GPS as it is out in the country. Pulling into their parking lot, I was not expecting to see the large barns that we did but it looks pretty cool to me so I was excited. I was actually breaking one of Ben's and my rules and that is to not tour new breweries without the other one, but since ciders are mostly for me, he said it was okay for me to go with my family and he wouldn't hold it against me. LOL Inside was pretty cool looking obviously like an old barn revamped. You walk through the area where you can purchase things to go first and then the bar to order is directly in front of you. They do offer flights that are pre-arranged and you can order separate small glasses if you would like to try anything else. I do remember trying something that was not on the flight. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of it, but it was my favorite and of course because it was my favorite, they didn't have it to go. Story of my life. Looks like it could be really relaxing and fun to spend the afternoon at. I will definitely return as I have to show it to Ben so he can experience it as well and try anything new they have created.

They recently added some food to the menu which I think was a fun addition. It's bar food but well priced IMO. The staff have always been soooo incredibly kind and supportive of the local community. The problem is top down from the General Manger, Shift Manager, and very poorly trained server. Also very average bar food for fine dining prices. When we arrived it was busy so we expected things to take a minute. However after sitting for 15 minutes we flagged down a waitress. She wasn't ours but took our order which we appreciated. Our server finally showed up. Took 5 mins to get water and another 10 to get our drink order. Then 40 mins latter still no food. The people who sat behind us arrived after us had their food and by the time we got our food they were done. All the while our server never came to our table. I flagged a busboy asked him to find our server and asked to see a manager. By this time we had already been there over an hour. The shift manager show up before our food and rather than apologize for the poor service he proceeded to tell us the excuses for why our food has taken so long. I finally got tired of his excuses I said "stop making excuses and get us our food". A few minutes later the food showed up. No silverware, salt/pepper, ketchup or drink refills. Again asked a bus person to help. Waitress never came back. After a few minutes the General Manager came out accused us of being disrespectful to his server and shift manager and proceeded to start swearing at us. We never said anything to the server and the only thing I said to the shift manager was stop making excuses and get our food. The GM again never acknowledged the poor service and accused us of swearing and being disrespectful. Never listened to us and asked us to leave. He threatened to physically remove me rather than listen to how bad the service was ‍ Incompetence at all levels. Save your time and money.

Absolutely delicious but could have been hotter in temperature. We split a GF Goat Cheese and sausage pizza. Unfortunately the first one they brought out was raw in the middle so we waited for a second one which was better but not great. I'd been curious about how the space had been transformed, so Nate and I stopped in recently while in town. The main building now houses a fresh market, coffee shop, gift shop, cider bar, and a bespoke barbershop. There is another building on the premises that is a separate boutique store called Pink & Frillos, but that wasn't open when we stopped by. It's a little bit of a lot of things, but what we experienced was nice. They also rent some part of the place as an event venue. I'm not sure if they still do u-pick apples, hayrides, corn mazes etc. or not. We ordered a meat, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, a couple coffee drinks, and a doughnut. The employees were not overly friendly or even really smiling, so I agree that they could have been friendlier - they all seemed to be high school or college age. Our order was done quickly and we settled in to eat. The sandwich was hot and the croissant was buttery and soft. I really liked the crispy bacon on the sandwich. It was a good portion to split along with the cinnamon sugar doughnut, which was fresh and fluffy. My oat milk latte was decent but nothing special. They use Madcap coffee at Frugthaven. Overall we had a nice time and I'd come back to try the hard cider. There's some outdoor seating and the bar area looked spacious and airy. The old timey barbershop is cool, but feels a bit weird and out of place. Otherwise the other elements of the business seem to fit. They seem to be catering to an older/Millennial crowd that wants a good shot for Instagram, versus the more family-friendly farm that it used to be. Nothing wrong with that, just something to note, especially if you knew it before.
