Asbestos Project Management (APM) recently tested for the presence of asbestos in a residential property of interest to me. I chose APM because it is a fully licensed, well-established family owned and operated business that has all five-star consumer ratings with Yelp and Google. Also, in researching potential companies I determined that APM's cost for their service was very reasonable. I dealt directly with the owner Brett Keller who was extremely accommodating with regard to setting up an appointment date for the test that would work for me. At the scheduled time and day (Friday) Brett met me at the property driving his work truck. It was in pristine condition and when Brett retrieved his equipment from the enclosed truck bed, I noticed that everything was clean, well-organized, and properly secured. Brett then sampled the suspect material and explained to me that the sample would be submitted to an independent lab for analysis, which was standard procedure done to ensure the integrity of the results. He said that because the lab wasn't operational over the weekend, I would not get the results of the analysis until approximately 4:00 p.m. the following Monday. Brett then unhurriedly detailed to me what the abatement process would entail should asbestos be present and I elected to have APM handle the work. The following Monday at approximately 1:00 p.m. I received from Brett an email containing a complete chain of custody document tracking the acquisition of the sample and its submission to the lab as well as the results of the analysis. Fortunately, the analysis was negative for the presence of asbestos. I was completely satisfied with APM's high-quality service and give it my strongest recommendation. read more

Great company. Contacted them via their website and got a reply quickly with a quote for a PLM test. Unfortunately, our test came back positive but they handled the removal quickly and efficiently as well. They secured our permits for us too which was awesome and a huge help. Arrived early the day of removal and were done far sooner than originally thought. Thank you! read more

Wanted to confirm that our kitchen tiles were non-asbestos, worked with Brett, nice guy, to get a sample. Extremely fast and efficient collection with equally fast results. Luckily no asbestos! Highly recommended, great service with fair price for the piece of mind! read more

Brett and the team did a great job. All of my asbestos floor tile was removed in a day and I received my clean air certificate on the next business day. I would recommend this service to any of my family or personal friends. read more

This was one of the more expensive quotes we received but we ultimately proceeded because of the great reviews and we liked that both the lead and asbestos testing we were looking for could be done by the same company. We tested a home we're under contract to purchase, so this made it easier only having to coordinate one visit to the home with our realtor. James and Brett were super efficient; the whole process took about 20 minutes. The lead testing was done with an XRF gun so we got instant reads. The asbestos results came back from the lab within 24 hours, so we quickly got verbal confirmation on that as well. Both reports came the following day via email and were very thorough including details about the samples, locations, descriptions and outlining the standards followed for the tests. Given the age of the home we're really glad we did the tests through a reputable company. With such a big purchase, some immediate renovations in mind and a baby on the way, we have such peace of mind knowing our future home is clear of these potential hazards. Now we can focus on making it feel like home without wondering about safety. Hopefully we won't be moving for a very long time but, would certainly recommend using this company! read more

We had asbestos. They came. They saw. They tested. They removed. Now, we don't have asbestos. Jim was the absolute best. Reliable and trustworthy. Thanks Jim! read more

From the beginning APM was transparent, easy to work with, and communicative. When we first suspected asbestos tape in our vents, Brett could not make it out to us that week to test the tape. As such, he recommended another company to conduct the testing so that we could have the results in a timely way. We were so impressed by this and ended up hiring APM to conduct the asbestos abatement. Another reason for our decision is that APM includes a third-party air quality test within their scope of work, something that other companies wanted to charge us another $400 for. On the day of our appointment, Manny came and conducted the work with care. He was sure to keep us updated at every point in the appointment and was honest when he needed to call Brett to answer a question. We are so glad to have found APM. read more

It was a pleasure working with Brett. I didn't know what to expect when I learned on a home inspection that I may have asbestos. I got mixed messages on how to proceed from various companies. Brett said just do the test first and he was so right. The test came back negative. He saved me a lot of money. He was professional and prompt. Thanks Brett! read more

When we were looking for an asbestos removal company, we received a few quotes and Asbestos Project Management had the best price. Besides the price, the customer service was fantastic with all our questions being answered. When it was time, the team showed up early and on time. They were both very courteous and explained what they did after the job was done. Within a week of completion, we received an email from the company with our air test results. I appreciated all the good communication with this company as asbestos removal is a very serious job and there are many questions and concerns! Thank you again and we would recommend them to anyone. read more

These guys are fantastic. I was in the middle of buying a house when the inspection revealed there might be vermiculite in the attic which is known to carry asbestos. Brett and his father gave me a great price to test the vermiculite and were available within 24 hours to provide the test and 48 hours to get back the test results. Due to the time sensitive nature, I had to get things done quickly. Brett came out the next day and he went in the attic to get the samples of the vermiculite and came down and told me that the insulation did not need to be tested and my inspector was wrong in determining that vermiculite was in the attic. He could have charged me $500+ for the test but he didn't. He was honest and sincere and said that that there was no asbestos containing materials in the attic. He didn't charge us anything for even coming out! These are honest guys and you should feel comfortable doing business with them. Brett did the right thing and he will for you to. read more

A flooring "professional" planted the seed that my old-school tile might have asbestos just by looking at them. I found APM on Yelp and loved their quick solution -- mail the company a sample of the tile and adhesive, then they will send you test results within days of receiving it. Amazing option and super economical. Luckily, the material tested negative for asbestos and no further action was necessary. I appreciated this business and their quick results. Highly recommended. read more

We were planning to install new flooring in our basement when the person doing our estimate told us that we would need to have the floor checked out for asbestos. I looked on Yelp and saw the great reviews for Asbestos Project Management and gave them a call. Brett was out here right after I called. He got the results back to us within a day that included a detailed report showing the asbestos in the flooring. We scheduled the removal for a couple of days later and the crew was great. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They were extremely polite, described what they were going to do, took the time to set up the room for cleaning, did the project and then left the basement in pristine condition. Overall, it was a great experience. They were timely, responsive, effective and professional. I would definitely recommend them. read more

We recently moved into a home and discovered a possible asbestos wrap around the cement chimney. I contacted Clyde after freaking out inside for days. He offered to look at pictures and was able to tell me right away that, yes, the chimney would have to eventually be removed but it will not harm our health if we leave it as is for now. Thank you so much for your expertise and putting my mind at ease. We will definitely be using this company due to Clyde's incredible level of professionalism, knowledge and honesty! read more

Brett was extremely nice and responsive to my concerns. He came out within two business days to test and we had the results within one business day. I was very concerned because we had a baby in the house and Brett was able to schedule my removal the next day. One of the few companies that does the testing, removal and air quality test. I sent Clyde a photo of my asbestos basement tile. He replied within the same day and was incredibly helpful. In this industry, when customers are worried about their health, Clyde could have taken advantage and tell me I needed an expensive consultation. Instead, he took the time to assess my situation, review my photos, and informed me that I was not in harms way. This man has integrity! read more

I thought I had asbestos in several areas in my 30s era home. There were nine inch tiles in the attic. The kitchen clearly had an older floor under the 90s era linoleum and then there was some old plaster that got me worried. The internet is a terrifying rabbit hole when it comes to asbestos. With a pregnant wife and a toddler in the house, my anxiety ramped up. I just decided to face the piper and called Asbestos Project Management based on their yelp reviews. I was assuming I was in for a world of trouble and a $5,000 to $10,000 bill. Clyde came out within 36 hours. He walked me through the house and investigated the areas I was concerned about - as well as suggesting other areas to investigate. He knew I was worried about safety and not just trying to check off a list. This guy has been working with asbestos for over 40 years. He knows what he is looking for. He took samples of everything he suspected was asbestos - "Each test is $25. You may as well test, even if it's almost certainly asbestos. Why spend the money remediating something that isn't asbestos?" I've heard of some inspectors who take advantage of the fact that you are likely anxious when you call them - they recommend remediation without testing. I'm glad I found Clyde. He called earlier today - 24 hours after he left my house. My results had come in and none of the things I was worried about contain asbestos. That was a really nice call. I can't promise that you're going to get similar test results. But, I would recommend calling Clyde if you have concerns about asbestos. read more

We are extremely happy with ABM! I found them originally to help us with some testing. Their process was super simple and they were able to get us results within 24 hours. Once we decided to proceed with remediation, Brett was prompt and professional in delivering a comprehensive quote with all of the details clearly outlined. He worked with us to get the scope of work determined in a way that will best suit our budget and needs. On 'demo day', Manny arrived right on time and ready to tackle the job. He was great to work with and got the job done quickly and cleanly. We will DEFINITELY recommend APM in the future and are proud to support a local family business! read more

Had Brett our to evaluate our home, specifically the utility room. (Which we knew had all asbestos wall covering) There is a boiler (radiant heat) water heater, washer/ dryer , circuit box, security system box, humidifier for house, to name a few items he would be dealing with/around. He was so informative, kind and honest! He gave us a verbal quote, but he recommended that we could do it for a fraction of the cost by painting or covering with drywall. Unexpected as his business is removal. We were very impressed with his ethics. I will definitely keep his info and recommend them whenever I can!! read more

We were having carpeting installed by Home Depot and come install day they identified what resembled adhesive containing asbestos and refused to perform the installation. Clyde was my super hero! I needed a fast and thorough evaluation of basement tiles for asbestos as part of preparation for sale of a house. The gentleman who is the owner operator answered the phone inquiry himself and proceeded to offer one of the quickest, smartest evaluation of the possible/probably issue and outcome I've ever gotten from the by now MANY contractors I've worked with over the last 7 years. Communication was prompt, courteous and efficient and the result return was well within the promised window. Much to my surprise I did not have asbestos but if I had I would have no hesitation in hiring this business. read more

We had just bought a vintage home on the Northside of Chicago, and naively began some construction without too much foresight. During the process we were informed that the popcorn ceiling and walls might be asbestos containing. Immediately we were very nervous about the exposure we had with the materials. We emailed Asbestos Project Management at 8:00am, and received a call from Clyde at 8:20 to set up an appointment for that very morning at 11:00. He was very empathetic about our situation, very informative about our options, and supportive. When Clyde came out he was very efficient, and very nice. He checked and sampled the rooms we were concerned with, explained what he was looking for, and took the time to look at both our attic and basement as well. Before he left he gave us the options of removal if there was asbestos, and explained he would have the results by no later than 5:00 the next day. We were very nervous, and the speedy turn around time made us very happy. We got the results on time as he said. (it turned out there was no asbestos) We would highly recommend Asbestos Project Management if you have any concerns. read more

Very professional and explained what they were doing and why it was important. Clyde showed up on time to test the various materials in the kitchen floor and also explained what the possibilities were. He was also able to give me options and costs in a timely manner. When your kitchen is undergoing a renovation and everything is in shambles and the first floor removal was stopped, it was great to get a fast response (results in two days) and to be able to schedule the removal within two business days. The crew who did the removal were on time and kept the rest of the house clean while they were working. They also cleaned up after themselves so that the floor was ready for the next step. Clyde graciously helped us navigate through a messy DIY kitchen demolition and eased my pregnant mind. He called us on a Sunday morning after a night of fretting over having exposed our toddler girl, husband, and myself to asbestos from pulling up very old sheet linoleum flooring. Highly recommend him and his services to anyone in doubt over asbestos management. read more

Asbestos Project Management did a great job from start to finish. Clyde (the owner) talked to me twice on the phone, really taking time to answer questions, outline probabilities, and talk through their process. He came out the very same day to give me a firm estimate for the job, and was able to start the project a few days later. He knew the ins and outs of getting a rush permit, and didn't price gouge at all for the rush job. The crew climbed in and out of my tiny basement window to make sure the rest of the house stayed pristine, which I greatly appreciated. And they toiled away for 4 days on an incredibly hard project without ever once complaining, or even mentioning raising the price. Clyde was really responsive throughout, and my final air test came back clean. Great service all around, really responsive, easy to work with. Highly recommend. read more

Clyde is the owner I believe him to be extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He spent 20 minutes on the phone giving me a quote followed by a free consultation. It is clear he had my best interests at heart in regards to which tests were needed. Note: this firm provides test results in 1-2 days, while others quote you about a week! read more

We have had nothing but an amazing experience with APM. Clyde and his team have taken the time to explain every step of the process, gave very realistic recommendations, which we were concerned about having 2 small children in the house. I have not had services done by APM yet but had to write a review on the phone call alone. Found out this morning from carpet installers that the tiles under our current carpet have asbestos. As a mom of a 3 year old and with one on the way, my emotions were a wreck. After speaking to a very responsive Clyde my fears are lessened. Clyde is very knowledgeable (40 yrs in the business) and honest, the most important traits when dealing with such a situation. He took the time to answer all our questions and then some. read more

When I found out I had asbestos in our basement flooring and that it would have to be remediated before beginning a remodeling project I really did not know what I should do. I did a HomeAdvisor search and left a message with Asbestos Project Management. Within a few hours Brett contacted me and set up an appointment. The workers were extremely punctual and knowledgeable. The results were delivered promptly. Brett was flexible with when the work could begin, explained the entire process thoroughly and held true to the explanation. My basement was left spotless. Every question was answered honestly. Emails and phone calls were returned within hours if not minutes. They even were able to leave my washer and dryer hooked up so that I did not have to reattached. Having to do an asbestos abatement isn't fun. These guys made it a snap. I cannot think of an easier process. Thank you to Asbestos Project Management. read more

I think the natural reaction to discovering asbestos in your house is a terrifying sinking feeling. Don't spend a lot of time on that, though. You can just call these guys. They do email and on-site quotes. The business is family owned and operated and they are super well versed in their trade. They'll examine suspected asbestos and make recommendations about testing. They stick to their quote and make everything seem easy. I ended up scheduling with them on the spot after getting my quote (the third I had gotten), because I liked them the best and they were already scheduling 3 weeks out--good to know. About a week before we were supposed to have the removal completed, we ran into a conflict and were able to reschedule for a couple days later with no problem. Our appointment was for a Monday and it had totally slipped my mind to confirm the Friday before. No problem, though. Albert, who was leading the removal project called me on Sunday to confirm and answer all of my questions since they were due to arrive at 7am the next morning. He called when they completed the job and I received the results from the clearance testing via email the next day without any follow up needed on my end. I always think it's such a relief when companies do what they say they're going to and I don't have to micromanage. In all, our removal project was completely painless, which radically exceeded my expectations. read more
