Worst experience of my life. Started out as a $4000 move. Had 2 conversations with Asata in 2 weeks. First conversation started well with the price being set at about $4000, and I paid a deposit of $1700. Second conversation they raised the price to around $6000, and they wanted a second down payment of $1100. Which I was unable to pay due to their credit card system being down and I don't use cash apps. It was agreed that I would pay the entire balance on pick up day with a credit card. On pick up day Swift Moving Services showed up 1.5 hours late and then raised the price again. Only 1 mover showed up with no help. In all I was charged just under $8200 for the move and I can not get a delivery date to my new home. I was told I would receive a call 24 hours prior to delivery. This company is a SCAM! They prey on people needing help and then take their money. They did not show up when promised, and told me the earliest they could be there was the next day, at which time I requested my deposit back because I had to leave town and at that point had no reason to trust this company with my belongings anyway. I never received a call beforehand that the truck was behind schedule and delayed possibly a full day. They refused to give the deposit back, saying they could have a truck there by 7pm, however, I never got a call that the truck arrived. They tried multiple times to get me to say that I was canceling their service, which I denied as they had not made good on the service they had led me to believe would be given, and I simply wanted my deposit back. I think this is how the company wanted this to go. They made $1000 for doing absolutely nothing. I hope that none of them can sleep at night. None of their 5 star reviews are real. As a former manager of a moving company, I was very disappointed in the customer service coming from Asata. The day before my move across the country, I got a call from Asata saying they needed to charge me $1000 more to keep my movers for the following day, saying my inventory list put me in the next bracket of cubic feet even though I signed a contract MONTHS prior to the move. When I tried reasoning with the lady on the phone she said I agreed to these price changes and that if I refused to pay I wouldn't have any movers come and I might not get a refund on my $800 deposit. The movers were unprofessional, asking to tip them generously because I moved around Christmas. There was NO communication when my items were being delivered across country, I eventually called to question what the status was on my delivery and they said "oh he will be there in the morning." And if I had work??? There was NO heads up. When I got my items delivered I was missing parts of my bed frame so I had to throw it away. I feel that I was totally price gouged by this company. I was on a time limit because I had already purchased a house out of state. Asata called me. They got my number from another site. The person on the phone quoted $4000 for our move. We would get the white glove treatment. Door to door and 30 days of free storage if we needed it. That was amazing so I went with it. He had me put down a large deposit and told me we would have someone else check to approve that. When we got the call it was a FaceTime call where we walked around the house and garage and showed all of our things. The guy said there was no way they could get all of our things in that size truck and he would have to request a larger truck that could take everything and the cost would be almost $15,000. I thought that was a lot but decided it was fair because my husband has a lot of heavy items in the garage. He told me that this truck would take everything and had me put down another large deposit. We were already into them around $6000 in deposits. On the day of the move two guys showed up in a small moving truck the size that you can rent from Home Depot for around $100 a day. They walked around and told me that we would need another truck and a half and that would be another $22,500. Now I'm scared. I needed to get everything out because we were having new floors installed in two days. I called Asata and told them what was going on and I needed to speak to the guy that quoted the $15,000. I got a hold of him and found him no longer helpful. He was talking to his uber driver so it was hard to hold a conversation. When I told him that the movers wanted that much more money he told me that they were the best and they were right. Due to the urgency of needing everything out I paid the extra $15,000 to get another truck hoping to get the majority done. I hoped that the company would make it right by me. They brought the second truck the next day and started filling it up from the garage. After a few hours they announced that the truck was full and they could not take any more. We ended up having to rent another truck and move it ourselves. It was a lot of lifting for two 65 year olds and one recovering from a triple bypass. I called the company several times to try and get them to honor their quote and finally someone understood what I was saying and said she would move my situation up to her managers. It has been over a month and my experience has been ignored. I am out in total around $37,000 to move a 2300 sq house 800 miles. I am also out a lot more in taxes and payments due to not being able to sell my house sooner. I see From other reviews that this has happened to others. I hope it helps them knowing that I am going to issue complaints to the BBB, the state attorney general, the federal motor carrier safety administration, and the department of transportation office of the inspector general. The only reason I gave them 1 star is that I could not give them zero. It started out as an estimate. I should have known when they wanted me to open a Zelle account. I made the deposit. A few hours later (same day) my family had made other arrangements and no longer needed the movers. I emailed and called asking for a formal request of a canceling it. I then continued to attempt to follow up to ensure that I did not get charged. Well they charged me anyway, when I called to dispute it, they assured me that they were going to process the refund and would send me a confirmation email with details, and that if I did not recieve it that I needed to let them know. I have not recieved an email or the refund as of yet. I also have know had the ruddest encounter with a representive there that to me confirms that it is a SCAM! He was rude, cut me off, said the transaction has not processed on thier end, (it was deducted from my bank a week ago). Then proceeded to demand I use Zelle to get the refund right then and there. Don't trust these guys. The worst experience I have EVER had with any business! These guys are very shady. I got scammed by the company and one of their disgruntled x-employees. The actual company name is Asata Van Lines and their site https://asatavanlines.com/. We paid an $860 deposit for their services in late Nov, several weeks before our upcoming move. About one week prior to our move, my wife received a call from a man who identified himself as "David" and claimed to work for Asata Van Lines. He was very professional, nice, and had ALL the detailed information about our moving order, down to the confirmation number, itemized list of our belongings, and even offered service upgrades. The call lasted nearly an hour, and everything appeared very legitimate. How could we not trust him? He had all our info for our move! Toward the end of the call, he said we needed to pay the second installment fee of $1005, which was expected, as the payments were to be made in three installments. Trusting him due to the detailed information he provided, we followed his instructions to send the payment via Zelle. He directed us to send the payment to a specific phone number, under the name' Joseph Scarlett'. I asked who that person was, and he explained that it was my assigned truck driver, and that's how it works. Later in the day, the actual Asata Van Lines business contacted us from their official number (888-462-5117) to request the second installment payment. Our stomachs dropped when we heard that. When we informed them that we had already paid, they said they had no record of receiving it. After hearing what had happened, they confirmed we had been scammed. During further discussions with Asata, they suggested that the scammer was likely a former employee of theirs, Joseph Sullivan, who had been recently terminated for theft. According to the Asata manager Daniel, this Sullivan guy accessed our file on November 26th, just days before his termination on November 28th. Daniel also told me that he had Sullivan's phone number in his contacts and called him directly, during which Daniel told Sullivan to stop scamming people and return my stolen money. David said that Sullivan just hung up on him. I even have a recording of that call I had with David. I was actually surprised that he divulged all of that information to me, but I was so glad he did--and so glad I recorded the call. I reported the scam to my credit union, who also filed two affidavits. I reported it to Zelle who likely won't be able to do anything. And I submitted a case with the FTC (Federal Trade Commision), but we all know how long the government can take to investigate claims like this. Chances are, I won't get my money back. Asata says they have reported this matter to the police who are investigating, but they have no update about that. Due to a serious breach of trust with these guys, I decided to cancel my contract with Asata (which they initially resisted!) and instead secured a U-Haul truck for our move. They got approval from "the owners" that I could get a refund and assured me that I would get my $860 deposit back on the 13th of December. It's now Dec 23 and I still haven't gotten my refund back. So I've basically lost $1800+ to this company who didn't even help me move at all. The company refused to own up to their disgruntled employee who scammed me out of $1000, and put all the blame back on me. To make matters even shadier, every time I call to try and talk with the manager 'Daniel', a Sabrina answers the phone and he is somehow conveniently 'unavailable', in a meeting, or has 'left for the day'. Classy. My wife and I have called in about our $860 at least 10 times now. Pretty lousy business with no backbone if you ask me. These guys have lost ALL of my trust. They could restore a lot of it by refunding me my deposit like they had promised me, but seems possible that I may never see that money again either. Until they show some good faith, I will tell my story on every review site for them, Google Reviews, Angi, Facebook, and here on Yelp. And a report to the BBB about this is next. First of all- the manager Amy has the worst customer service skills I have ever encountered in my life! She is rude, abrasive, condescending, unpleasant and just not a kind person. She just does not listen to the customers needs and does not let you get a word in edgewise. Her people skills are nonexistent . She should not be managing anyone! And this is me trying to be objective. So if you are planning an out of state move DO NOT contract with this company -they are awful! The articles they list on the the initial contract do not quite match what you describe to them and then are told that is what the system allows them to fill in... then when you have your "quality call" with Asata you get this gem Amy on the call who try's to strong arm you into paying 3 times what you were originally quoted because everything you originally identified as articles for the move are now add ons. When you try to explain that is not what originally discussed she bad mouths her coworkers saying they don't know what their doing and they will be reprimanded- and then she tries to tell you she is trying to help you and is giving you a deal and she knows exactly what you need...So how does quoting someone 400 cubic ft of articles at $2.1k ad then adding approximately an additional 350 cubic ft of articles for $6.5k help me. The math doesn't even add up -- that more than 3 times what I was originally quoted for not even double the amount of cubic ft! And at this point it's too late - you can't run for the hills! The 72 hrs to cancel your contract has passed and you loss your deposit money! I think that's their scam... so please RUN AS FAST as you can... save yourself the heart ache. Biggest scam artist ever!!!! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Not only is Asata Van Lines deceptive, they have no remorse and no care for your livelihood. How is it that I moved cross country from San Diego to FL my home of residence after retiring from the Navy. And my things were picked up Dec 9th! I was told because it was picked up in the beginning of the month I didn't have to worry about the holidays because my things would be deliver when arriving to FL. I was told not once not twice but three times that my household good would get to me on the 18th and the 19th the latest. Didn't hear from anyone the 18th and 19th was told well maybe in four business days but to be safe end of the month. And of course because everything has been word of mouth they get away with it. I've been harassing customer service and finally today I was told after New years because the driver is in Georgia spending the holidays with his family but hey forced to live in a empty home waiting for the h rest of my things to arrive. Asata Van Lines made this move the most stressful situation I have ever experienced. The estimate didn't include every item and I notified them of this. They assured me that I would only pay for the space that I used on the truck and I can add items the week before the move when they finalize all the details. Well I tried to add approximately 40% more space so that I would have more than enough room. Apparently this was their opportunity to double my moving costs. I argued that there is no way that adding 40% more space should cost me twice the original estimate. I declined their new estimate and decided to stick with the original estimate and move the remainder of the items myself. The company that picked up my items showed up at the very end of the pickup window. I didn't enjoy waiting around for them. I was told that they would contact me with an estimated date for delivery after I gave them my available dates. They didn't call on Monday with the delivery window. I didn't stick around and wait so I left town. Well they then called me the next day to say that they were 3 hours away and I had to accept delivery. I argued that was in violation of the contract and I was to be given fair notice. They claimed that the delivery driver called me 24 hours prior. I demanded they show the call logs as proof. They stated they would do that but them called back an hour later saying that they wouldn't request call logs because it would mean they would have to pull the driver off the road for an investigation and that would delay the delivery, etc. Well I called their bluff and told them they and the driver were lying. They threatened to charge me for redelivery, storage, etc. I stated I could be available the next day but they wanted to delivery on New Years morning at 9 am. Well I wasn't going to drive all night on New Years Eve just to have them not show up until the end of the window as seems to be their protocol. I demanded a noon dropoff and they acted as though they were doing me a huge favor. Horrible. I changed my moving estimate by removing a dining table and chairs, dresser, TV, and several other items, and replacing it with stackable storage containers. They wanted to charge $700 more, for less stuff. Come moving day, they wanted to charge $400 more. They added $75 for a flight of stairs, and $75 for additional distance. They charge $75 for distances of 75' or more from door to truck. The distance was right around 75'. I measured all my containers and 3 other items that weren't in containers (2 full beds and box springs, and a 55" flat screen TV in its original box). The measurements were more than 50 cu ft' LESS than the original estimate, but they charged me for more than 100 cu ft more than I actually had. They also were going deliver one bed and box spring to my temporary residence and put everything else in storage. I called about a week after they picked up my move, to see when my bed would be delivered. They said they don't take anything out of storage and they'll deliver it with the rest of the stuff when I have them move it to my final residence. The whole reason I even moved the bed, was to have a bed to sleep on at my temporary residence. I wouldn't have even shipped it if they weren't going delivery it to my temporary residence. Joshua was full of promises to get the sale, but Asata and their moving company fell very short in accomplishing those promises. They seem like shady operators. I'm going to be as objective as possible here...pause before choosing Asata if you are moving out of state. Based on our horrible experience I would have caution using them locally - which seem to be the bulk of the positive reviews. We allowed Alex into our home to show him literally everything in our home to give the most accurate quote. We received boxes, bubble wrap, paper, and tape hand delivered weeks prior. So far Asata was STELLAR in service and value! The day of our move, all of that went completely out the window...the mover came in and immediately stated we had more than what was on his list, and that it would cost us an extra $1,300 for these things. We opted to leave the extra items and try and sell them on eBay with the 3 days we had left in the city. We still ended up paying $600+ more than the contracted amount the day of. The mover had the gall to tell us he "saved us money, because they were going to charge us +$ more". I was utterly appalled. This is where it got worse. The head mover insisted we pay him 20% tip of $600. I know it is the recommended percentage, but extremely unprofessional to demand it. Keep in mind we just forked over an additional $600 for our stuff. And my girlfriend was left nervously distraught with this situation happening the day of our move. We were literally powerless, given we had flights in the next few days and this is our stuff they have in thier possession. I immediately asked if they work for Asata or are contractors, they said "yes". Then I called the business on the spot quite livid (and I'm a overly nice guy), but logically calm. We settled on 10% increase of the "new total quote" (+$600), and paid the guys a $300 tip for our 1 bedroom apt. So we signed an agreement, budgeted, prepared, and the day of they gouge us for an additional $1K. Because they did such a good job making it right for us on the drop off, giving us a far more professional and respectful staff, and a discount on the return balance, we gave them a one star bonus. My advice to avoid this experience to a future customer, is do a more thorough job on your quotes, be more transparent, and have higher professional expectations of your staff. read more

I got a quote of $2500 from ASATA VAN Line to move one bedroom apartment furniture. I told them that the total price of the furniture is lower than the quote I got from them to move it. I told them that my budget was about $1500. Then after couple of days I got a call from them saying that they have new deal since they need to fill in the last space in the moving truck and they agreed to work within my budget. I did not realize that this was the "bait", and the "switch" would come later. All the furniture were listed with them and gave them exact dimensions. I signed the contract on 4/15/2025 based on their total moving estimate of $1500 and they also estimated the space size of 321cf. I was asked to pay 1/3rd ($500) of the total moving estimate as a deposit and 1/3rd on the day of pickup and the last 1/3rd upon delivery. when you sign the contract then you have agreed that this company is just a broker. Which means that you must accept any moving company that they use for moving your furniture. They have assigned Swift Moving Services LLC for this job and bill of Lading was signed on 05/02/2025 with the same exact total moving estimate and the size of 321cf according to their size estimate based on the list of all furniture and dimensions. The day of pickup was assigned between 05/06/2025 to 05/08/2025. The apartment had to be cleared out by end of 05/09/2025. So timing was very important to me. Driver showed up on 05/06/2025 about 3:00pm and they asked me to show them the furniture. I did show them the furniture and the driver said he would come back with contract to sign for new estimate. I asked why new contract when I already signed one. I called the ASATA VAN Line, and they told me the new contract may be more or less than original estimate based on the driver new moving estimate. So waited for the driver to show me the new contract but meanwhile he had his assistant started wrapping the furniture already. The driver came back with the new contract and total estimate of $1981. I was mad and tried to call ASATA Van Line again but this time no one answer and left a voice message. I told the driver and his assistance to stop wrapping the furniture and the drive told me that I would lose the deposit if I refused the pickup. I was mad that this "bait and switch" could happen to me, and I was under timing pressure to move out of the apartment. After several call to ASATA VAN Line but with no one answer I decided to sign the new contract because I though the total new estimate of $1981 is about the same value of the furniture I bought 2 years ago. After loading the furniture in the truck then driver asked me to pay half of the remaining balance, and it was more than I thought. The new total estimate he showed me already in the new contract was including the deposit that I paid originally. The total new estimate without the deposit was not showing in the contract but was later added by the drive handwriting on the contract after I signed. This another deception that I did not catch. So, the total new estimate is $2481. I was furious and asked the driver to unload furniture even if I lose the deposit because the total moving cost would be more than buying new furniture. The driver said that he would charge me $800 to unload the furniture. I tried to call Police but because it was not an emergency and late afternoon no one answered from the police department. Finally, I told the driver that I have limited cash to pay because I did not expect to pay more than 1/3 of the original moving estimate. The driver said he would only accept cash, but it is fine to pay cash 1/3 of the original estimate and pay the rest upon delivery. He wrote this on the new contract showing remaining balance of $1481 to be paid upon delivery and assigned 05/12/2025 as a delivery date. He also told me that I would get a phone call 48hrs before delivery and I though it is strange not saying 24hrs before delivery. The contract also shows the delivery date is no later than 05/14/2025. I waited for the furniture to be delivered but no calls before or after that date from anyone about furniture. I called ASATA VAN line many times asking about the furniture and was told that they would call dispatcher and call me back. I did not get any phone call back or email. I waited for a week after that but no delivery of the furniture until this present day. My case is a clear cut of "bait and switch" scheme. I would have never chosen ASATA Van Line if the BBB had not rated them as B+ when I checked them out. If Better Business Bureau does not change this rating, their credibility is going to be on the line. read more

I scheduled a move from New York to Ohio. When I spoke with the customer service rep, they asked me for all of the items that I would be moving. I gave a very specific list of what I wanted to move, and I planned to sell my bedroom outfit instead of moving it. The customer service rep repeatedly told me I had almost 200 ft.³ of space left for my order that I could actually add more if I wanted to. I then said would it be OK to add the items from the bedroom, listed them off, and he said yes, I was still under the amount. Then I got the verification phone call today and was told that I needed twice the amount of space and they were going to charge me double the amount which I was not prepared to pay. They refuse to give me my down payment back, even though this was their fault, and they proceeded to be condescending on the phone, very specifically the quality assurance manager. He was absolutely awful, didn't help at all, and even when he was trying to act like he was helping me, he was condescending and rude. I hate to do this because of how helpful the delivery mover was but this company is a HOT MESS. First, they informed me over the phone that they would deliver my items within two days of picking up my things. But once everything was solidified they called to push my established date and time back for pick up. Once they arrived, they nickel and dimed me on every single item I had while also leaving a bunch of scrap duck tape scattered everywhere upon their departure. Secondly, when it came to the delivery process, I PAID for two people to deliver and only ONE man showed up THREE DAYS AFTER they were scheduled to arrive. So I had to help him unload my things. My husband and I had a really unfortunate experience with Asata moving. Forced to move cross country at the height of the pandemic earlier this year, we really regret our decision to trust Asata with this move. We moved from Brooklyn NY to Atlanta Ga. our experience was extremely positive due to Deb's customer service UNTILLLL: PRESSURE TO CHANGE MOVE IN DATE: Alex who moved us out called us while our furniture was in transit to say it would be delivered a day before our contracted move in date and we needed to make accommodation. We explained our lease for the new apartment was not even started yet and there's no way we could move in. He threatened to call our new apt building to make it happen. We received several calls telling us our stuff would be delivered early and we needed to figure it out. We had to send a screenshot of the contract saying the exact date showing a major lack of comms btwn the movers and the logistics team. MOVE IN (TRAILER NOT TRUCK): our furniture showed up - not on a truck like the one they moved us out in - but in a TRAILER that was attached to a pick up truck. Everything was being moved out of a small side trailer door. It was strange but we were just thankful our move in date was honored. EXTRA CHARGES: They charged an extra $250 since our door was a bit of a walk from the elevator. We had to trust his "estimate from personal steps" taken. BROKEN PROPERTY: they broke our entry table, a large flat screen TV that they insisted they packed, our lamp and our bookshelf was missing screws I haven't been able to find. MISSING PROPERTY: they lost a huge suitcase that was tagged and numbered in the move that contained my husbands winter wardrobe and sentimental clothing!!! It's been 3 months and it's still missing HOW DID THEY RECTIFY? Alex was absolutely terrible and unprofessional. He was annoyed by our follow ups, told us not to contact management, told us he was management at one point and there was no decision makers above him. He told us he would fix things and order new furniture for us. It was a nightmare. Once we reached back out to Deb weeks later, she expressed horror and put us in contact with the owner immediately. They offered us $300 for all broken furniture and the missing suitcase with thousands of dollars in clothes and things that can't be replaced. It was insulting but we felt it best to take what we were offered than to lose money fighting this further. We trusted this company bc of the glowing reviews so felt we had an obligation to share this terrible experience so others can have balanced expectations trusting this company with their entire life. This place is a complete joke, hidden fees, hidden secrets and when i called them out on the contract because they werent abiding it i asked show me where on the contract does kt say this and ONLY THEN they dont want to talk about the contract and have to escalte it but for all my other reasons they were throwing in ny face "its in the contract" wish i seen these reviews before hand oh well lesson learned. Then they pick up your stuff take it to a warehouse where itll wait there to be trasported which im guessing is why alot of people stuff get broken. They load it up then unload at a warehouse then load it AGAIN and who knows how many other times. If you're planning to move out of state, find another company. We moved from Brooklyn to Austin and choosing this company honestly made this experience so stressful. When I first spoke to Deb she was really kind and helpful. She broke down the logistics of the moving process which involved the movers picking up our stuff and then it sitting in a warehouse until a specific date where a bulk of other moves would be moved together. We were flying out of NYC on April 15th and she informed us to have our stuff picked up on the 8th because the trucks were leaving on the 9th and that it would arrive sometime between the 15-16th. When we got to Texas we were informed that all of our stuff was still in Brooklyn despite it being picked up a week prior. That's especially when my disappointment came. Deb was constantly texting us, answered are calls and was super helpful. She didn't answer or return our calls. My boyfriend even texted her and she didn't respond. It wasn't until the next day she emailed us with a soulless robotic response that lacked all empathy. Mo explanation as to why our stuff wasn't moved or anything. We just felt scammed. We didn't receive our things until Monday the 26th and the movers told us according to the contract they were allowed to do that. Our 2 weeks started on the 15th instead of the 8th and honestly it was all sketchy. The movers who had our stuff were horrible with communication. They would ask our availability and if it wasn't good for them they would give an available date days away. They should've just started with "these are our days, what works best for you." The lack of transparency was frustrating. On top of that, the main guy in charge was Incredibly rude and cold. Only speaking nice to me when he needed to borrow a charger. A few of our furniture was badly wrapped like our mattress. It was only covered in film and when I pointed it out another mover said "oh it came like that." Also the movers will LIE TO YOU about a 10% tip. How do I know this is a lie? Because our second movers didn't even ask, they just left. But because the first movers have your stuff you feel obligated to give it to them otherwise they'll probably kick some of your boxes and say it's an accident. Deb never told us about the 10% tip, and even said everything was covered in the initial cost. TRUST THE OTHER LOW REVIEWS. Find another company, you'll get a better deal and hopefully they don't just ghost you when things get difficult. read more

We had a very poor experience with Asata. We read reviews that said to trust the reviews...that they mistreat your stuff but we were assured that those reviews were one offs. They are NOT. The packing went great. They were quick, thorough and professional...except when we tipped them. We researched at length to make sure we tipped the right amount and then paid OVER that because they did do a nice job. After my husband walked out of the room, the lead mover came over to me and asked for more money. They said it was a big move and they should get more. It made us very uncomfortable as they drove away with our stuff clearly mad. When we got to our new house a few weeks later and they opened the truck with all of our belongings, we could already see the damages. Boxes were spilling open with contents hanging out like the boxes had been thrown off a bridge. I do not have room to detail the damages that were made to very nice furniture, antiques, beautiful pottery and kitchen ware. It was devastating opening box after box and finding things that were wrapped in bubble wrap totally shattered. We have made many cross country moves and know how to pack and have never had anything broken like this before. We also received multiple boxes and two furniture items that were not ours. Very unprofessional and disturbing. We reached out once a week via email and text with photos and detailed lists of what was lost. The owner has never responded and we kept being put off by Deb telling us someone would reach out...it is now over 4 months later and we have not heard a word. We are out THOUSANDS of dollars in furniture and kitchen supplies and are now just being ghosted until we go away I guess. PLEASE trust this review. Very, very disappointing. read more

I have used Asata Moving twice now and both times the service they provided more than exceeded my expectations From the initial contact requesting a quote I was greeted with helpful, friendly professionalism...and a very competitive quote, which was considerably lower than many other removal firms.   A $50 deposit secured the services of Asata and valid insurance documents were quickly produced at the request of my building. On the day of the move, the guys arrived on time and quickly loaded the van with the boxes I had already packed. Furniture was dismantled as necessary, then wrapped in heavy duty cloth for protection and hard-flooring laid to protect the flooring and carpets of the building. In fact, the second time I moved, they called to ask if I would like them to come an hour early to help with any last minute packing (and of course I did) even lending me a few extra boxes and parcel tape to make things easier. Upon arriving at my new abode the guys then worked tirelessly to carry all the boxes and furniture up the 5 flights of stairs (I almost felt guilty for enjoying a cold beer while they slaved away). The bed and larger items were then re-assembled and placed exactly where I wanted them, with great care not to scratch the newly painted floors or walls. Then even hoped clean the place up a little bit before leaving In summary, the whole process was very easy from the initial quote onwards. The guys were super friendly, efficient, professional & not a single item was broken, chipped, scratched nor damaged during the move (which is first) and the whole move was very reasonably priced. I'm amazed. We found Asata as a referral from a friend at work. We were moving from Jersey City to North Bergen. Upon calling, Alex scheduled to come over that very same day. He was friendly and professional. He gave us a flat rate that had beat all the other quotes we were getting and then emailed the estimate within an hour. Alex called the day before our move to reconfirm and then came over with his buddies on time. (Amazing right?) These guys have obviously worked with each other before since they immediately looked over everything and planned their strategy in terms of how they would get everything loaded. They were efficient and worked at a steady pace to get everything loaded in a timely manner. They were also very conscious of padding our furniture to ensure nothing would get dented or broken. (Didn't even need to ask!) At our destination they were able to quickly move everything in an amazingly short period of time. On top of everything else, these were nice yet hard working guys. I was 200% satisfied with their hard work. Moving has never been something I looked forward to, but these guys made it something I didn't worry about at all. I don't think that I can describe how amazed I am. ASATA is the non-stop moving machine. For the whole love the moving crew didn't stop at all. Those three movers were really unstoppable. Everything was done EXTREMELY FAST. All of my furniture was well secured, loaded, transported, and delivered. Also the price I received included the reassembling of all beds and furnitures. We moved a 1 bedroom from Brooklyn to Jersey city. The service was great! Debra the business manager was really responsive and helpful communicating all our needs. The 4 movers were fast and careful. They arrived by 9am, finished reassembling and unloading before 2pm. That included a king size bed, a tall glass door bookcase and other furniture. They are Alex, Guramor, Rizhentus, Dzanga. The price was in the middle among all the companies I quoted. But i like flat price because i don't have to worry about traffic or other unexpected issues. Highly recommended! read more

Alex and Zahar did a super job on my move from Chelsea all the way to Ulster County, moving a lot of furniture and boxes. They actually re-taped all the boxes to ensure they were secure and used their own boxes for larger items I had neglected to package at no charge. Everything was bubble wrapped and blanketed in a very professional manner all at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend Asata! One of the best things about working with Asata is Deb - she's like talking to a ray of sunshine. She answered a million questions over email, text, and on the phone. She kept me up to date, was always quick to respond and I can't say this enough - a ray of sunshine always! Alex and his team Lasha, Vladimir, and Emir were fast, efficient, and amazingly tireless. There was a glass table that got chipped in the process and it took a little longer than I would have liked to fix but it was worth the wait. They have an incredible glass company who made the table look brand new - I figured they would never be able to replace the black beveled glass but they did! Today, I had to move from my one bedroom apartment in the upper east side to Jersey City. I got quotes from a couple of dozen different vendors with a huge range of prices (one offer was only slightly more than it would cost me to rent a truck, but it was scant on details). I was pleasantly surprised when one of the cheapest places I found also offered me full packing services (everything boxes and moved from place to place) for about the same price as many other moving companies were giving for a boxes-only move. After talking to Alex on the phone and looking at other reviews here, I decided to give Asata a try. The movers arrived pretty much spot on time , confirmed the details of the move (where I was moving from and too), and got started packing right away. I've had other professional moves done before, but I was very pleased with both how easy it was to setup the move, and how much effort they put into the move itself. I think lots of people have stories of things getting broken during a move, but in this case they actually noticed a problem in one of my bookcases (some of the non-slip feet had fallen off while sitting in my apartment) before packing, so my possessions were actually in better shape after they arrived. I was also quite impressed with just how full service the move was. I've had a lot of movers that will pack up possessions and furniture, but Asata went beyond what I expected. They had no problem taking down my flat screen TV from its wall mount (although understandably, they didn't put it back up in the new apartment). They also actually helped with the unpacking experience -- I've never had movers leave me not only with a working bed, but also with my clothes in the closet. All in all, I think this was a fantastic experience moving, and an incredible value for the money. My only concern is that if moving is this painless, I might start shopping for better housing deals more often. read more
