Our moving experience with Asata was about as good as it gets. Working with Deb to coordinate the move was a breeze. She was always upbeat and personable in her communication with us and displayed a lot of patience as we updated the moving inventory and schedule leading up to our move. We couldn't have asked for better responsiveness and customer care! Moving day was a long affair, but Alex and his crew gave it their all until the bitter (and very late) end. They arrived early and were polite and professional throughout the day, even when they faced a two-hour drive back to the city after finishing the move-in at 9:00 pm! We ordered a pizza for them before they left, and they couldn't have been more appreciative. All in all, we are pleased with our choice to use Asata for our move. I canceled within 48 hours and it took reports to the BBB, DoT, and NYS Attorney General to receive a refund. I was bullied and threatened when I called to inquire. I was laughed at by management. After 4-5 months, I received a written apology and my refund. AND: the BBB reviews seem fake. They were rated 1-2 in July and then were sudden lung flooded with 5 star reviews and have a 3. Jason Evans Quoted us $1758 for door to door move. Long story short the day before moving Andrea called finally called at 445 pm the eve before our move and they added $2k to our bill. We canceled. They said we won't get our $718 deposit back. Associated bank fraud dept is now involved and the fed ADA and Ma AG and BBB will all be notified this week. Avoid at all costs. Asata Van Lines is not a moving company--they're a broker. They sold our move to Good Move, and from there it became a nightmare of dishonesty, delays, and price gouging. We submitted a highly detailed inventory--box sizes, counts, and furniture. Asata quoted us $3,600. Then came their "Quality Assurance" call, where they started questioning our list, clearly trying to lay the groundwork for a price increase. They said we could pay by credit card--but only through a "different parent company" with a 5% fee. Otherwise, they strongly pushed bank transfer, which offers no protection. Once you pay, you're locked in. When Good Move showed up, the driver was from the company, but the movers were local hires he'd just met that day. Ironically, those laborers were the only professional part of the experience. Before anything was loaded, the driver claimed the move was double the quoted volume and increased the price to over $6,000. I told him don't load anything, that I'd get other quotes or do it myself. Only then did he "drop" the price--still $1,000 higher than our quote. We were promised delivery by Saturday (pickup was Tuesday). Now it's well over a week later, and our belongings haven't even left the origin. Today they said it will finally begin transit in three more days--for a move that's over 2,000 miles away. This process has been nothing but pressure tactics, bait-and-switch pricing, false timelines, and zero accountability. Once they have your money, you're stuck waiting, with no control and no resolution. Do not use Asata Van Lines. Do not trust Good Move. I strongly advise against using Asata Van Lines or Good View Moving based on my recent experience. Despite signing a contract with Asata Van Lines and receiving a quote after multiple video surveys, the day of the move was a nightmare. Only one person showed up--no team as promised--and immediately began demanding more money, attempting to extort us under pressure. This single mover caused damage to our home and belongings, including broken stairs and damaged furniture, all while forcing us to assist with loading due to a lack of manpower. The truck was about three-quarters full, yet the price was arbitrarily raised per item. To make matters worse, the company that actually performed the move was Good View, a company we never contracted with, and they have since sent us a contract with fewer items listed than were actually packed--an apparent attempt to withhold or steal our possessions. We have repeatedly tried to contact both companies, with no response for months. They demanded payment in cash or Money order, refused credit card payments, and have since disappeared. This experience has caused us significant stress, financial loss, and uncertainty about the whereabouts of our belongings. If you value your time, money, and possessions, avoid these companies at all costs. I am currently pursuing complaints with the Department of Transportation and considering legal action. If I could give zero stars, I would. Please do not use this company. What we experienced was misleading, unprofessional, and financially damaging from start to finish. We were originally quoted $2,454.28 for our long-distance move. When the movers arrived, it was not the promised 18-wheeler but a small box truck, and we were pressured to sign a new contract on the spot--doubling our cost to over $5,400. We only discovered later that our shipment had been sub-contracted to Goodview Moving & Storage without our consent or knowledge. Delivery was supposed to take 3-5 days, but our items didn't arrive for 21 business days. During that time, we received false updates and no accountability, only to later find out our load had been subcontracted without our knowledge to another carrier using a pickup truck and trailer. When our belongings finally arrived, many items were damaged, and no protective materials (blankets, wrapping, or padding) were used. The handling was completely unacceptable. Because of the delay, we were left without furniture or beds and had to stay with friends for a week--spending hundreds of dollars more and enduring extreme stress. To make things worse, we later discovered that Goodview Moving & Storage is not currently authorized by the FMCSA to transport or arrange household goods, which raises serious legal and consumer protection concerns. We have filed formal complaints with the FMCSA and BBB and are pursuing compensation for the additional charges, damages, and the hardship this caused. This experience caused significant financial loss, stress, and even health issues from the ordeal. Other than paying more than 3 times the original estimate amount, waiting 32 days for delivery and not having my belongings unpacked or reassembled upon delivery...oh, and making payment to someone other than the brokered movers shown on the Bill of Lading. When you end up paying more than 3 times the amount of the original estimate, and that is after removing many of the items mentioned originally, it leaves little doubt of the being honest. The pickup movers made an immediate judgment that 50 percent more space was needed than had been determined by Asata's "Quality Assurance" group less than one week before. Space translates into cost and that was their determinant. Only to find that upon delivery over one month later that the sum on my belongings and that of another move combined took up less space in the same Penske-sized truck. Phone calls during the long waiting period were either never returned or reached a line no longer in service. Very bad decision of my part in trusting Asata. Beware! Do not hire this company. Quoted one amount, was charged extra by the movers. They are only the broker who sub contracted the moving company "Good View moving and storage." Our furniture had damage. The top of our washing machine is dented in and scratched all over, the drawer wont close where you add detergent. They did not secure the bolts for the drum of the washer, hoses were not there. Dryer is also scratched. These were brand new front loaders we got last year. They did not assemble our beds, I had to call back and complain. They made the driver turn around. They only completed one bed and left without saying anything to us while we were taking off the wrapping from. They also did not bring in boxes in the house they piled it in the garage. Apparently the movers are only allowed to go up 12 steps for moving in furniture and any extra steps we had to pay for. They did not put together my nook or fire pit table they took part. I also watched the fire-pit table drop because they did not place it at a secure spot. My brand new mattress has grease and black marks on it. Every-time we asked them to do something they said it's not in the contract. They did not pick up their unpacked papers. They left without saying anything to us, while they were supposed to be putting one of the beds together (they never did) while my husband and I cleaned up there packing paper mess. Beware! Do not believe the quote you will end up paying more. I was initially quoted one price and paid a 50% deposit as agreed. I was then instructed to prepare two cashier's checks for the remaining balance--one to be provided at pickup and the other upon delivery. However, when the driver arrived to collect my belongings, they claimed the contents did not match my original description of which I gave a thorough description of to the broker and what the broker wrote did not match at all the contents of my storage locker. They then demanded an additional $800 to proceed with the shipment. This experience was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The bill of lading was for $2500 to ship a 5X10 storage unit that was only 3/4 full from LA to Nashville. The total bill was almost $3200. read more

It never even occurred to me they would be. We live in another state from were the furniture was delivered. We were told it would be delivered by ASATA May 1st. It was picked up April 29th. Multiple times I was told it would be delivered May 1st. We waited, called, nothing. Only then did we find out ASATA was NOT a moving company, they outsourced it. After almost a month, the actual movers delivered today. I had to arrange someone to be there since we are in another state. Jeffrey Kepler from ASATA told me they would take everything out of the packaging and put it together as it was brand new furniture being picked up from the warehouse. Of course that was a lie. They left it all in the boxes and left. Coffee table is confirmed missing; I can't tell what else since they wouldn't open the boxes. Called the actual moving company and was told we have 90 days to report missing items. Let's see, JEFFREY KEPLER... great sales pitch. Actually, believed he was legitimately a good guy. What he actually is, is A VERY good liar. Got me, buddy. We have a giant collection of old comic bools, each in plastic sleeves and arranged in alphabetical order. I was nervous about mixing them up. These guys respected the system, they kept each box labeled by decade and made sure no to stack anything too heavy on top. They asked if the boxes were humidity-sensitive so they could place them in a part of the truck that wouldn't get too warm. They Ended up costing 3 times what was originally quoted. They also tell you their company employees and trucks handle the entire move. Asata van lines is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They had horrible customer service, were rude and very unorganized. Every step of the way, they did not do the right thing. They added on several extra thousands of dollars to our estimate, charging way more per square foot than they originally quoted. They contracted with several moving companies and neither of them were able to let us know where our things were for about a week. It took weeks longer than the estimated time before our things were delivered. When they were delivered over half of our most valuable things were damaged and some were stolen. It was then a huge hassle to start the claims process; they implied that we were being dramatic saying "what did you expect?" My brother accidentally asked them to load a piece of furniture that we had sold to the subsequent owners, and they even brought it back to our old house after moving us. They will quote you a lowball number for your move, then 2 days before the agreed-upon move date, their "QA department" will re-estimate your move with a final inventory list. Even though we had REMOVED 2 large furniture items from our original quote (for a small 750 sq ft apartment), they more than doubled our estimate and would not give us an explanation as to how they arrived at this new estimate. We were forced to cancel our move (at great inconvenience) but then to make matters worse they would not return our deposit and to date, will not respond to repeated emails and phone calls to get our deposit back. A representative of Asata Van Lines scammed $1,000 off of me on September 4, 2025. His name is Theodore Green, and he lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Granted Asata Van Lines had fired him, before he scammed me. But, Asata should have known that this person was a con artist before hiring him. Obviously, they have poor pre-employment screening techniques. Also, how dare Asata not prevent Green from taking private customer data home with him. That's how he scammed me and others, according to those that I spoke with at Asata!!! Green was the first representative at Asata that I had spoken with upon first looking for a moving company in April of this year. Well, he underquoted me, causing my family and me to spend too much money on our move. And, four months later, he scammed money off of me. By the way, Asata will not give me any information on any police report that may (or may not) have been filed by Asata. Do I not at least deserve that? Asata themselves are con artists for underquoting me and, in the end, charging me too much money for this move. Too, they ate food from our pantry when packing our stuff without our permission. And, they threw the trash into the boxes that they used to pack our stuff. The sister company that they work with (for whatever reason) only sent one person to help us move our stuff in, yesterday. I've had my share of nightmare moving stories, so I can be pretty skeptical when hiring a new company. But Asata Moving erased all my worries from the get-go. Booking a move with them was refreshingly simple; their coordinator, gave me a detailed rundown of the estimated costs, supplies they'd provide, and how many workers would be involved. He never tried to upsell me on unnecessary extras, which was a big plus in my book! Come moving day, two super-friendly guys showed up and immediately scouted out my townhouse to see the best way to maneuver my bulky sectional and treadmill. I was impressed by how they meticulously covered the banisters and doorframes with protective sleeves. They also used these nifty corner guards to keep my walls from getting dinged. As an added bonus, they had a variety of moving gadgets like a harness for carrying large cabinets, making it look almost effortless. Once we got to the new place, they systematically unloaded everything, placing items exactly where I asked. Even after the job was officially done, they took a few minutes to help me reassemble my bed frame, just because they knew it would help me settle in faster. I told her the AVERAGE measurements because not every boxes aren't the exact same size but she kept talking over me. They should have done that at the estimate phone call instead but they didn't specify I have to provide measurements of every single boxes. She was sorry for the frustration and suggested me to upgrade for another 200 cf which is $1300 more to avoid surprising charge later on which would be tripled. She doesn't even know how much stuff I have and just makes up a number. She was very pushy, talked over me the entire time and argued with my husband. When he asked for her name, she said she was Amy Seller, but she spelled it out as Freller, lol. She said she would end this conversation and will transfer the call to somebody else to handle it. Ok, about 20 seconds later, somebody picked up the phone, said she was sorry from the bottom of her heart for the experience we've had. We recognized it was the same person, Amy, we called her out for that and she admitted it was her. Sounds fishy? She pushed me to upgrade right now, pay more for deposit. I said I had to think about it because it's a big jump. Also, I asked how if she overestimated, do I get the refund. She didn't answer directly to that question even though I asked 2 more times. I told her I will call her later. She said that she can wait for a few minutes because she had to go to the airport out of town in 5 mins. At this point I know I've been scammed. Before she hang up, she said she will be out of town now one more time. Two mins later, I called back but nobody answered the phone. Tried multiple numbers but no lucks. At this point I decided to not go any further with them even though they finally called me back. Who knows if they will hold my belongings ransom, ask for tips or ask for more money like they did with other people. I already filed a claim with DOT. If you haven't report with DOT then you should do it so there will be records of them with DOT. I'm surprise they're still in business. They have different business names: Asata Moving and Asata Van Lines are one. If you paid with checking account then change it and report to the bank. I had zero clue how to move my 200-gallon saltwater aquarium. The fish and corals needed separate containers, and the glass was unbelievably heavy. To my relief, this crew had experience with big tanks. They helped me drain it halfway, carefully transferring my fish into aerated tubs. The glass was wrapped in thick bubble wrap layers, then padded with foam boards. I was so impressed they also labeled the box with This side up--Fragile--Aquarium Glass. Once at my new place, they assisted in reassembling it and ensuring the stand was level. My fishy friends and corals are now thriving, and I owe it all to their careful approach. read more

As someone who hates the physical part of moving, I was thrilled that these movers handled all the heavy lifting. But beyond that, they were just plain nice! They never complained about the steep stairs in my old place, and they managed to maneuver my oversized couch around a tight corner without making a big deal of it. A "not to exceed" price of 2300 and change with a 1/29/25 pick up and a 2/1/ delivery "guaranteed", turned into delivery on 2/9/25 with no communication as to when they would show up, more headaches than I can count and a final charge of 3200+. Then the driver shows up and tries to gouge us for another 500 once he arrived. They will lie, push you into signing a contract "immediately" which isn't worth the paper its printed on and make a wire transfer while on the phone with them to get you on the hook. that's when the up charging will start. My family and I used this company for a move, and they nailed it from start to finish. They arrived right on time with multiple crew members, so everything went quickly. They shrink wrapped my leather sofa and double checked that nothing rubbed against its delicate surface. One mover helped me pack last minute stuff in the kitchen when he noticed I was behind schedule. Asata Van Lines itself isn't as bad with communication as the people they subcontracted to move my belongings. they work with Moving Logistics LLC ( they have terrible reviews online) only reason I wouldn't recommend Asata Van Lines is because you don't know who they will subcontract, and the original estimate will not be what you end up paying. I ended up paying 3k above the 2k that Asata Van Lines quoted me for. Asata charges a deposit which is their broker fee then the movers come and charge you the first half along with all the materials they use and square feet to move the belongings into the truck and when dropped off . I'd say find someone who owns and moves your belongings and doesn't subcontract. read more

Our hobby is collecting vintage arcade machines heavy, bulky and prone to monitor damage. We had three machines to haul, plus all our usual household stuff. These professionals first measured the doorways and used a swivel dolly to remove the machines without hitting the door frames. In the truck, each arcade cabinet got strapped to the side with protective padding in between. Nothing shifted an inch during the drive. It was such a relief seeing them treat our arcade machines like priceless treasures. read more
