But the second time was very disappointing -- they were unprepared and they did not know how to address the problem and consequently really messed things up. I called at about 11am and spoke to a very nice gentleman by the name of Udi. He promised me someone will be at my office to check the bathroom between 1-3 and they arrived at 2pm just as promised. To save me money, he told me which parts to order in advance. Setting up the service appointment was easy. Upon receiving the parts, Toni came to fix the toilet. This review is overdue. While we did not end up hiring ASAP Solutions for the final job, Udi was so helpful when we needed assistance back in Feb 2016 that I have to spread the good word. We had a gas pipe leak to the main line and ConEd shut off the service to the entire building without giving us any notice or any information as to what kind of work was required. ConEd returned 2 days later (again without much notice). They informed us that that we needed to hire a licensed plumber to do repair work and to run a pipe integrity test before gas service could be restored. We frantically searched for plumbers who could come on site immediately. Udi showed up in 10 minutes to talk to ConEd and to get a scope of the work needed. Compared to other plumbers we interacted with, Udi was very easy-going, friendly and straight to the point. He did not try to blow us off or quote us extremely high fees. I am glad I found ASAP Solutions on Yelp. My building requires contractors to provide insurance coverage. I initially contacted Amerikhomes Heating & AC (also found from yelp). After being told the insurance would be ready in one week, I got a reply at the end of one week waiting that the insurance cannot be done with no explanation. EXCELLENT AND HONEST. For the second time in a week, ASAP Solutions delivered perfectly. I needed a small piece of followup work from a few days ago. ASAP showed up right on time and fixed two small problems. One had to do with a valve that ASAP previously adjusted, rather than replaced, trying to save me money (after asking my permission for the first attempted fix). Two days later it was clear the the part had to be replaced. Even though I had approved the first repair, ASAP discounted the replacement on the second day. I would have understood if they didn't offer a discount, but they're really that honest and ethical. Second, the plumber, Tony, offered me advice on a minor thing that I could safely adjust myself, rather than calling him back in. He and his boss, Udi, are absolutely great. Responsive, 2 workers arrived on time. Job: faucet replacement. Naturally, it was more difficult than expected & cost more than original estimate. Estimates, especially without a prior visit to assess, are blue sky every-thing-will work-fine. I knew the faucet to be replaced was old (warned them when I called) & deteriorating. Our Super wouldn't touch it! There was an additional issue with the sink placement, which meant they could not get behind the sink to replace the stopper without moving the sink off the wall it was attached to. I said they could just leave the old stopper, but they replaced everything, even sending one guy out to get caulking to reinstall the sink. It looks great! They were competent, hardworking & did a good job. The office was professional & responsive. For anyone that has actually done repairs, it is almost always more difficult & complicated & costly (time, equipment) than expected.
