When we walk through the door, Catalina (I believe that's her name) already knows the routine. She gets us settled at our usual table, has our iced teas coming, and often gets our appetizers started before we've even had a chance to look at the menus. Every now and then, she'll even ask if we want what we had the week before! Now, some folks might think that's just a small thing, but let me tell you, it's the little things that make all the difference. Being remembered, feeling welcomed, and having someone take the time to make you feel like a regular instead of just another customer goes a long way. That's good old-fashioned hospitality, Texas style! Catalina makes us feel right at home, and that kind of service is something you just can't put a price on. It's such a fun combination, and that consommé takes the bao to another level. I also really enjoyed that they make their salsas in-house. They served both a verde and a roasted red salsa with the buns, and both were delicious. The chile relleno was another standout. That melted, cheesy goodness inside was everything you want from a chile relleno! The crispy beef taco was an unexpected winner. It was served with what seemed to be the same delicious birria-style beef, so it was instantly a favorite. The crispy shell paired perfectly with the tender, flavorful meat. The camarones with soft tortillas were also really good. The shrimp were well seasoned, and the soft tortillas made them perfect for building little tacos.

I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were fire. The sauce was flavorful, the chicken was juicy, and the rice and beans on the side hit the spot. Everything tasted super fresh and homemade. The place was also really clean, which made the whole experience even better. The portions were generous--I cleaned my plate and still wanted more. Even the drinks were on point.
