This place was booked for the night on a Saturday but they went above and beyond to get our party of three a table. They had plenty of options to choose from for paint, ceramics, writing, stencils, sponges, and other items you need. You aren't rushed at all and the employees seem to love their job. This place is a must try and will be coming back for more read more

Very fun experience to do with a group of friends, family, or date. We booked reservations on a Saturday assuming it would be packed but not the case whatsoever. Check in and directions to begin painting was simple and quick. Many options on what to paint big and small. The pick up date once your pottery is done 3 days after 4pm we were told. Highly recommend this experience. read more

A friend and I were in the market for a pottery painting experience and anded up here. It's been about ten years since I last painted pottery, but the experience is relatively unchanged. This location had a large variety of products to choose from and just about every color you could think of to paint it. They also had inspiration books to help jog your creativity. The staff was fairly hands-off, but I'm certain they would have been willing to help with whatever we needed if we asked. read more

My visit to AS You Wish Westgate on Thursday was a wonderful experience. The place was just starting to come to life. Customers were greeted warmly by Elaina and Yasmine. The place was clean and well organized. All the customer's questions were answered satisfactorily. The staff rises to the challenge to meet everyone's needs. A great place to visit and relax. Will be returning soon. Bon Voyage to Yasmine on her trip to Hawaii. Looking forward to hearing all about her adventures. Happy Easter to all! Frank read more

Their mission is: As You Wish exists to bring people together to build lasting memories, with passionate people and creative product in a colorful fun-filled environment. We had a team building event here and it can be stressful in the beginning pick something to paint, then once you choose your colors and theme, the fun kicks in. Watching others, painting, chatting, and just enjoying your time with each other! I picked a cactus mug and decided to make it a blue ghost cactus (rare)! Since it was our first time, I wished the staff would have checked on us and guided us a little more. I would have left a bigger tip! read more

This place is great, lots to choose from, you can take your time painting, they even have the option if you want to swing in to buy the pottery and cups of paint to take home and complete your project and then drop it off at a later date to get fired. They are super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan on painting in store as it can tend to get busy. read more

Fun as a date night idea or with the family (toddlers). Would recommend as they have a variety of price options for all sorts of clay items.

Went in with my grandson to have an afternoon of fun - no problem with staff or location while painting. However, when I picked up our pieces and got them home my lights for the large Christmas cactus do not fit! Any slight bump & they fall out. I emailed the location with pictures several weeks ago & never got a response. Today I called & was told to just glue them in. However, I was also told when we were in that you can change the Christmas lights for flower lights. Well, how can I change the lights out if I have to glue them in! Not really happy with this $90 plus studio fees result or customer service! Pretty bummed!! read more

Loved it!!! Such a great experience and so much fun. Great place to celebrate a bday as well. Wonderful customer service. They have pottery for everyone and every occasion. I notice a few couples as well - getting into painting and they seemed to enjoyed themselves. I am definitely doing this again. I found it to be a therapeutic experience as well. read more

I love coming here. The workers are nice and ask if you need help or if you know what you're doing. If you make a reservation at a reasonable time before they close, you should have absolutely no problems. I love that they have huge windows so you can see outside. Westgate is always poppin so it's fun to people watch a little while you paint. Last time me and my friends went, they had bubbles being blown all over the entertain circle outside so that was pretty to watch. The choices of things you can paint is pretty vast. I painted a picture frame that perfectly fit a Polaroid. Highly recommend this activity/establishment for a bonding experience with anyone you'd like to bond with. (: read more

Had a great visit with my mom and the girls today. I didn't know they have a thing going on right now called Mania Monday. Buy one get one free! You still pay the $8 sitting fee. So 4 of us painted and we only paid for the two most expensive pieces. That's a deal for me. Overhead and the cost to run a kiln! Not to mention thr paint! Due to covid when you are done everything is left in the sink and employees will wash and disinfect everything. They are keeping it toasty warm in the winter months. They offered a refresher going over everything with us. Prices are on the bar code stickers on thr bottom. After you're done painting your piece will dry, they will coat it and fire it. We will pick our piece up in 3 days. For an extra $5 fee they will write on it for you if you like. My mom made something for her sister and didn't feel artistic enough to pen it herself in paint. So awesome! The gal even wrote the names on the bottom of the girl's pieces. They offer drinks and snacks for a fee. Pricing for that is by the register. We had an awesome time and thr gals working were great. Can't wait! read more

Really incredible, sweet staff running such a cute establishment! Definitely come paint some pottery and enjoy the AC, they show you all their paints and have helpful tips for beginners. Luckily for me, I already had a vision in mind before coming here. But for people who don't have anything specific, you're free to use their reference book and copy anything you see! The turn around time for the items was pretty fast and the end result is spectacular! read more

This is such a great place to come to once in a while when you want to be creative. My boyfriend and I came on our anniversary, and it was honestly so much fun. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as i did. When going in they direct you to a table, and tell you where the paint is and to pick your item. I really want to give this place a higher rating, especially since there are not many places that offer Girl Scout Workshops that result in your girls earning a badge. The activities were okay and the girls had fun. We had 7 girls attend the Brownie Pottery Badge Workshop on a Sunday. We had it scheduled several weeks in advance. The place seemed to have issues with answering their phone whenever I tried to call about anything prior. They claimed electrical issues, not sure if that was true or not. Because there were issues on several days. Also, they never once mentioned anything about there being a cost to park at the Westgate Shopping area if that was a "game" day. Each parent brought their own kids so we had parents freaking out about having to pay to park. At least they do reimburse or take off your total fee the cost to park, BUT ONLY if you park in a "yellow" lot that charges you $15. If you find a cheaper spot you are pretty much screwed and they wont even consider reimbursement. (I have an email into the store manager, who responded and can't do anything for those of us that parked outside of the yellow in terms of reimbursement, but he did offer a $5 off coupon.) As for the activities, it seemed the girl running it could have used some help and provided more guidance to the girls. Although our girls had fun, half the time some of the girls were off talking and waiting on others. We Leaders had to step in often to keep things moving along and keep the girls together and engaged. The tour of the kiln room and the fact the girls were able to dip their painted tiles in the glaze themselves was cool. One drawback that I did not know going into this was I would have to go back to this location and pick all their items up later this week. I wish they would have shared this before I booked. Also, being told exactly what was going to be done and how long it would take would have helped also for planning purposes. So in the spirit of helping future Troop leaders. This is what they did. Talked about pottery, Painted a Tile, Talked about clay, used the clay to make a small item (they take these home same day), they then got a look at the kiln room and they got to dip their painted tiles in the glaze themselves. This all in all took a little less than 2 hours. My advice try to avoid going on a game day (we had no idea one was this past Sunday). Lastly, unless you have 9 or more girls you plan to book for an event, they will not take a reservation over the phone. Every time I called prior to booking I was told to do it online and that is where all the info was. If I was calling the store I obliviously wanted to talk to someone to get more info. Might suggest they work on that a bit more at this location. read more

I prefer the location in tempe. They have the same items here but the service was terrible. The two girls working there did not help us with anything. We had to ask for each item, aprons, bowls, sponges, etc.. they set nothing up for us. The concept and pottery are the same, but if you are located between the two, please choose Tempe location, as the staff, there is much more helpful. The concept allows you to pay a painting fee, then choose a ceramic from a selection ranging in price from 5.00 to 30.00 approx. My niece and nephew really enjoy doing this and it is a great way to get out of the sun and be creative. Just not at this location. read more

I want to give them 5 stars so bad. This place is great, the employees are wonderful. My group painted 5 items. They were done in the right amount of time and they look awesome! The drawback is that it smells terrible (which could just be the products) but also, it is HOT in here. It doesn't feel so hot at first but then you just slowly roast and melt. Pleaseeee fix your AC. read more

We have been going to As You Wish for over 10 years! I love to see all the items we have made around my house and put out for the holidays! We went yesterday as a break from quarantine and followed the rules for social distancing and mask wearing. While the tables are set up for social distancing, unfortunately, the mask wearing was not enforced. There were several tables where people were not wearing masks at all. The staff was friendly and helpful with painting and cleaning but did not request that others wear masks. I was very disappointed with that. We will wait to go back again! read more

Went here a couple of times and had a so much fun! When my mom went to pick up the 4 pieces we painted, there happened to be a Coyotes' game. Parking was $15! The attendant told my mom to get her receipt validated so parking would be free. At AYW, the clerk said that my mom couldn't get validation because she had already paid for the merchandise. Well, I paid almost $100 for our outing. She couldn't get a validation stamp? Really?! That's crappy customer service. We won't be back. read more

While in town, I wanted to take my two older kids (3 & 5) out to do something different. We had seen this place at the Tempe marketplace and thought it was a good idea to take my daughter (5yo) since she loves arts and crafts. I checked online and they had a wacky Wednesday deal where the studio fees were free which is an $8 fee per guest. I was able to schedule a reservation for that same day at the Westgate location, so convenient. As soon as we got there they were very helpful and explained everything to us in detail and even made suggestions. They have big ceramics to paint, medium size and even have smaller ones which can be turned in to magnets. My daughter got a mermaid, my son got a dinosaur and I got a peacock. They're a good size and each was around $15. When we finished painting we went to the front desk to drop them off to be placed in the Kiln. They let me know our stuff would be ready by Saturday. I freaked out for a bit because we were planning to leave AZ Friday morning. Krystal I believe is her name (beautiful curly hair) said she would do her best to have them ready by Friday morning after they open @10:00am. I honestly was already planning on having a relative pick them up and ship them to us. Thankfully, Friday morning around 0900, I got a phone call from Sklyar letting me know that our things were ready! As soon as I got there they immediately recognized me and said they would wrap our stuff for us. Such a great experience! I will definitely be stopping by again when we're in town and letting my family/friends know about it as well! :) read more

Customer service is very important. The people that they have working out front aren't approachable. They don't greet people as they are walking in. We had such a great first time experience here! My son and I have never been so we had no reservations it was busy and chaotic. Cameron, she helped up though very thoroughly. She was pleasant even when a rude costumer was being nasty. She even helped us get a table between the reservations that were already placed. She helped us pick the right pottery piece to paint my son flipped when she pulled out an atv! The place was well organized and I was helped immediately, just had to be patient to find the table that wasn't reserved. Super friendly staff and so helpful. I'm so excited to go back for a class. I like how if you run out of time before closing and you are not finished, you can return at another time with a slip they give at no additional cost.(only good at location you started the item at) You get your item back in like 3days after you are finished painting. Neat experience for a kids art-themed birthday party My six year-old and I were in As You Wish for her friend's birthday party. It worked out very well. The group picked out the pieces they wanted to do, painted and chatted away for about an hour, cleaned up together, and then finished with gifts and a rendition of "Happy Birthday to You". It was superb to have kids and parents playing + working together for an activity for once. Service staff was pretty good, as well. Not as structured as I would have hoped, but still helpful. You may have to approach them if you need something. Most of the crew seemed quite shy. My wife, kids, and I may visit on our own to do some of their glass-work options. It looks like you can do some beautiful stuff with it. read more

Fun for Kids and Adults My nephew and I were looking for something to do on a Sunday and we found ourselves at "As You Wish Pottery Painting Place ". I have to admit my nephew had a lot of fun and so did I. "As You Wish" is a great place for children and adults to explore their creativity and have some fun while doing it. "As You Wish" provides the paints, brushes, pottery, and assistance by their staff to help you create your very own pottery masterpiece. The process is a lot of fun, you select a piece of pottery, design &decorate, come back in a few days, and your pieces will be glazed, and ready to pick up. The staff at "As You Wish" are helpful and informative, it really seems like they enjoy their job. I would recommed "As You Wish" to anyone who wants to spend quality time together, sit and talk, and explore your creativity. read more

We love As You Wish!!! We had my daughter party there and it was top notch! Crystal was amazing. She was on top of everything, she helped the girls, she kept us on time, and I didn't have to do much at all. It was a great party. Thank you. This is my favorite place to paint pottery. They have great materials and a wonderful staff. I'm giving this one star review because it was so HOT in the studio. So far loving the open floorplan. The other two locations I've been to are a bit tight. The customer service is lacking. Instead of greeting us I had to seek them out for assistance since we had reservation. The second worker ignored us & continued to assist new employees. Dirty tables everywhere. So many things went wrong with my visit here. Before deciding on actually painting a piece I made sure to ask all of the right questions such as when I would be able to pick up my finished product as I was leaving Phoenix for the summer. I was assured that they would be ready right on time. So my family and I picked out our pieces and got to painting. It was fun, but unfortunately not only was our pottery not ready on time, as promised, but they didn't put all of them in the oven at the same time!! Thus delaying the process even further. Unbelievable. Also, even though they tell you your pottery will be ready by a certain day/time they do not call you. You have to call in and check on the status where they will have a difficult time locating it as they do not have a tracking system to know which items belong to the customer(s) It's just so disappointing to have had such a horrible experience all around with this establishment. I hope they can get more organized and improve their customer service. read more
