    honey butter toast

This was the only bakery I visited in London that had an Asian twist, so I was very excited to try it out -- and was not disappointed! My family ordered the honey butter toast, the sausage & cheese croissant, the pistachio chocolate escargot, and the apple miso danish. I'm really glad we got a wide variety of pastries to try because they were all soo good in their own way that it's hard to pick a stand out! My dad who is more of a savory guy really liked the sausage & cheese croissant. It had japanese bbq sauce that made it really umami and savory and kind of reminded me of those hot dog buns at asian bakeries. My boyfriend who is a sucker for sugared bread devoured the honey toast . The pistachio chocolate escargot was really well thought out and was maybe my favorite (it was sweet and nutty and buttery and flaky -- I'm always a sucker for nut chocolate combos). My brother really likes fruit desserts and was impressed with the apple miso danish (the miso is subtle but definitely makes it more interesting than your average danish) There's really something for everyone here. If I had more time i definitely would've come back to try everything else out!

The best bakery ever. Please go. It's so cute and well maintained. The staff is super nice and the food is delicious. We got honey toast and pain au chocolat and they were amazing. I wanted to get so much more food but it was too early in the morning to eat more than that. But i will definitely come back next time I am in London. In fact, can't wait to return

Cute little spot conveniently located. We asked for the most popular pasty, which unfortunately when we went at around 1-2 PM was not ready yet. Opted for a simple chocolate pastry and egg tart. These were both fairly good. Huge in size, so come hungry! Not a huge amount of options otherwise and seating is rather limited.

Lovely bakery, we stop in almost every time we are in London. Wide variety of sweet and savory pastries. The honey butter toast is fab.

Innovative bakery with delicious pastries in the Covent Garden area! We ordered their almond pain au chocolat and apple miso danish; both had good flavor and flake. There's limited seating and the bakery is popular so it can get busy, leading to a wait time, but service itself is quick.

OMG the honey butter toast was out of this world. It looks so simple but wow, sooo good. The queue was well worth it. Plenty of tables and benches immediately outside, but takeaway was an option too.

Arome is a delicious bakery with a creative selection of baked goods and drinks! The miso escargot was one of my favorite savory baked goods. It was super crispy and fluffy! I tried the egg tart, honey butter toast, and some of the other savory pastries as well. Arome is definitely a go to spot! Would recommend!

not sure I get the hype of the honey butter toast... it was ok and not worth the price in my opinion. the other pastries look better

Arôme is amazingggg! They have the best Asian-French fusion of baked goods! We can never restrain ourselves to just getting one or two. They have seasonal items that rotate, so be sure to come here often so you don't miss out on special pastries!

Whenever you see a post/reel on London's best bakeries, Arôme which offers French pastries with an Asian twist is always on the list. Located in the centre of Covent Garden, it can be very busy at weekends. We were there on a Sunday and almost everything was sold out at 13:30! Arôme Honey Butter Toast (£5.1) A thick slice of white toast with a caramelised crust that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which lives up to the hype. Sausage and Cheese croissant with Japanese bbq Sauce (£4.9) It's a mix of hogdog and croissant with flavourful bbq sauce. The sesame on top added some sweetness and crispiness which elevate this croissant to near perfection. Egg Custard Tart (£5.1) Can't choose between Hong Kong style egg tarts and this buttery version filled with gooey egg yolk and custard that melts in my mouth. Pistachio & Cranberry Escargot (£4.9) Look at those beautiful swirls! Each layer is filled with chopped pistachio and cranberry. Amazingly delicate and buttery and even better if you reheat it. The chocolate brioche infused with silky custard on the table next to ours looks so good as well! Will definitely be back to try them all! Flat White with Oat Milk Latte

My husband and I tried the huge vanilla cream filled chocolate covered brioche (filling tastes like a cross between pastry cream and whipped cream and the brioche isn't sweet at all, the awesome egg custard tart (my favorite) and the honey toast. Flat white with oatmilk was pretty good too. I'd love to go back and try other offerings!

We came here to try the famous Honey Butter Toast, but it was unfortunately a 20 minute wait to get. Luckily, our backup did not disappoint! Our lattes and brioche were both such a treat. I will definitely come by again and recommend to others!

I have walked past…read moreSweet for at least a year and often admired the pastries, but just never had the time to go in. Today I made the time. When I entered Sweet I was greeted by the staff and quickly took in a few silver tables and several wooden tables with stools. I ordered a goat cheese pastry puff and cappuccino. I was a bit annoyed that rather than ring me up, allow me to sit down and bring me my cappuccino, I was made to stand and wait until my drink order was finished. As I sat down, there was a mini rush. I was glad to have a seat because Sweet wasn't meant to hold a large crowd. The goat cheese puff was good; with each bit I could taste the goat cheese, meaning there was lots of goat cheese, yummy. The puff also had large tomatoes and a bit of basil, which added a nice flavor. The crust was light and flaky and I am sure I would have enjoyed the puff even more if it had been served warm. The cappuccino was also very good, but had a bit too much foam and not enough liquid for my taste. I like just a bit of foam and lots of liquid, next time I will request it that way. Overall Sweet was not bad, I would visit again, but doubt that I'd make it my regular boulangerie.

My only regret…read moreis I wish I had more people with me or I wish I was hungrier cuz I really wanted to order ALLLL the pastries! My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!

According to their website, they deliver "European excellence with Asian flair" which is really a great way to describe their pastries and the experience! Definitely the quality that you would expect with some of those Asian flavors. Here is what we tried: Chocolate Pistachio Escargot (5/5): Shaped in a snail shell, in between the flaky layers of pastry were luscious chocolate sprinkled with pistachio for nutty texture. Really enjoyed this one! Honey Butter Toast (4/5): Touted as their signature, I had high expectations for this. It is exactly as described which that slightly sweetness from the honey in a perfectly toasted milk bread. I did enjoy this a lot but also felt like it would benefit by having something else for texture or contrast. Chicken Butter Croissant (4/5): The croissant had the nice flaky layer with chewy interior. I loved the savory chicken sausage with the slightly sweet soy glaze that provided nice contrast and that Asian twist. When we got there a little after opening, there was no line but all the seats were taken as the place is quite limited on seats. While we were asked to wait for a little a bit outside, we did not have to wait too long. However, the line did end up getting longer as we were leaving and some ended up eating outside. Overall, if you are interested in tasting some tasty pastries, I would recommend Arome!
