I have used Arzet since June 2022 and have been very impressed with their business. Whenever I call either the owner, Walter, or his assistant, Victor, answer the phone and they always remember who I am and the services they've performed for me in the past. Both of them make me feel like a valued customer. Arzet's prices are fair and their service is quick. I have used them for AC maintenance, furnace maintenance, space heater maintenance, water heater maintenance, and a water heater replacement. Each time they have been on time and they communicate well. I have confidence that if I were to ever encounter any issues that I can call Walter and all issues will be quickly resolved. I highly recommend them for HVAC and water heater needs. read more

I am a Realtor at @properties and have used Arzet Heating & A/C for 15+ years. Walter & Luis are very dependable, honest, fairly priced, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Arzet HVAC. They are my go-to HVAC vendor. 5 star rating read more

Walter and his crew did an outstanding job on our home improvement projects. 1. We had to replace our water heater and he gave us a competitive quote for installing a 50 gallon Bradford White water heater. The installation was performed perfectly. 2. The bigger project was the installation of 2 exhaust/air intake vents through our roof for the installation of a portable A/C unit in our loft. He helped to describe the scope of the project to our HOA and management company to obtain prior approval. He was very flexible with the suggested solutions. At the day of the install he was very supportive, despite of the difficult weather conditions. The installation was executed very professionally. Overall, Walter and his team are very responsive, professional and they clearly and timely communicate any issues or concerns. read more

We had our long term hvac vendor come out but they gave a solution that was crazy sounding so we sought out a second opinion. Picking a vendor is hard you have to trust their work, rely on their opinions, and make choices about solutions. Arzet has quickly become a trusted advisor (we had Daniel!!!), not only explaining our issue in common language but to walk us through the fix. I've found a great vendor and they replaced just the broken pieces quickly, at a good price! We appreciate you all read more

I've used Arzet for ten years and could not recommend them more highly. They've done annual service on my furnace and AC. They've replaced a water heater and most recently replaced a boiler for our buildings snow melt system. They are consistently fair and honest, responsive and informative. Walter and his team have been fantastic with both annual maintenance and larger jobs. I have been using Arzet for 2.5 years. The prior servicing company I was using was one of the large Chicagoland companies and they would frequently send technicians out that didn't know what they were doing other than going through the motions of troubleshooting. I wasted a lot of money with my prior HVAC company before switching to Arzet. It's great to support a local company and more important their level of service and communication is top notch. . read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Arzet Heating and Cooling!!! 5 STARS Walter Arzet and his staff are EXCELLENT! They are a textbook example of excellent customer service. Walter and his tech showed up on-time and were very professional, very knowledgeable and very courteous. He explained everything in detail and in understandable terms. One of the best qualities about Walter is that he's extremely responsive. His texts are in real-time. And, his team was always pleasant and easy to work with. My AC unit stopped working on Aug 13, 2021. He came out the same day and re-charged the freon until he scheduled a data to replace the HVAC system. He replaced the AC unit and furnace and installed the Nest Learning Thermostat on Aug 31, 2021. Love this team here! Walter and crew are honest, transparent, and hard workers. I was using another company and just didn't Feel I was getting a fair deal, they told me I needed to cough up $5k for a new boiler. Nope. 2nd opinion. Called my realtor and asked him who he used, he said without a doubt, Arzet. Sure enough, Walter came and assessed and we came away spending $700 and our boiler is done. I mean, cmon. Ever since he's been our guy. Even had them put in a new gas line for my stove. Again, amazing team! Use em!!! You won't be sorry. read more

We hired ARZET Hvac to replace our AC unit. Two days later, our furnace started leaking.  We called them, they came and fixed. Few days later same issue happened, we called again, they came again and fixed. It happened for the 3rd time again, we called again, now they came, run some tests, and informed us that our system has a leak and that we need to replace our copper line system and that will cost us additional 1300-1800$ depending on if we want them to cut the wall and place lines inside the wall or to be exposed. I tried contacting their manager, but he would not return my call. Hence, I took uber and went to 3271 W Armitage (address listed on their documents) hoping I would be able to talk to someone. That address exists but their office does not. I called them, asked them to confirm address, which they did and when I said I was there, but office is not there, I was told they can't tell me address and that I can't go to their office. Finally, next day manager called me to explain about the leak and additional expenses. In this industry, standard procedure is to remove old AC, perform pressurized nitrogen test to see if there was a leak in the system, clean and install a new one. I asked manager if they followed all steps, he said yes. I asked, if so, how come we did not discover the leak immediately and you are telling me now after 3 weeks there was a leak, and we need to pay almost 2k extra. His response was: "well, you wanted us to give you a better price at the beginning so we had to cut corners, we could not perform all steps, so we did not do this test" On the top of this, they reduced copper line from 3/8" to 1/8" which was against Chicago code. I told them they need to come and fix this but that I am not going to pay for this since they skipped the test and did not inform me on time about additional cost. At the end, we met at $450 but they insisted me to pay upfront. Next, they came to install exposed copper lines. Once installation was done, we realized that they messed up something again because new system was vibrating and making noises while AC was on. While installing this, they also burnt our bedding and mattress. Worst part is that they drilled a new hole in the exterior wall in 45 stories high rise which is against every rule and common sense. After I tried to have them come over again to fix new issues, I was told by their manager that they are scared I am going to sue them, so they offered to give us 100% refund and take their equipment back. read more

I am out of town traveling and I get a call from my wife (home with our newborn baby) letting me know that our air conditioner has stopped working. I take her through all my usual tricks of unplugging and restart ... nothing. I then call around to a few places who let me know it might be a few days before someone can on out.... but then I find Walter! He is amazing he was out the very next day! On-time! was a quick and thorough job, he replaced a burnt-out piece and even gave us pointers on how to maintain the units for a better/longer life out of our units! If that was not enough he also cleared out and hosed down both units!! Walter and his team - Luis as the head tech - were amazing. I contacted them Wednesday and they installed a whole house humidifier Thursday! They even bumped me earlier in the schedule when someone else canceled. The techs were professional, nice, and explained everything on what they did very well, and were done in less than 1.5 hours. Fantastic service - could not ask for more. read more

Absolute scam. Luis came out to my condo Saturday night (1/19) to diagnose the issue, charged me $250, after I was told earlier that day it would be $185 for a service call, but whatever, Luis told me it'd be applied to my future bill when they came back to repair the unit. Monday (1/21) I contacted them for a status update, was told no update to provide, they were waiting on the supplier. That's fine; I am patient. Tuesday, silence. Wednesday I contacted at 8A, spoke to a girl who said the technician would contact me. 12P I called again and Walter (the owner) told me he did not have an answer for me. I told him this was absolutely unacceptable and to find a solution, he asked for 3 hours and would return my call. 4:30PM I called again, spoke to another girl who said she would ensure Walt called me. At 6:30 my male friend called and spoke to Walt who, within 6 minutes, broke down to my friend saying he did not know how to find the part for the solution. My friend asked for the necessary repair part ID number so he could send out a mass message via Yelp to other technicians. He received messages back inquiring for more info; people saying they do not operate on my unit; and my personal favorite Walt himself, without having realized this was my friends posting, saying he does not operate on these units. I'M SORRY??????? Did you not just take my $250, claiming you could repair the heater, leave me without heat for days??? Only to come to the conclusion you, in fact, cannot operate on my unit? Fast forward, somehow Walt does in fact get the part I needed ordered, NINETEEN days later (2/5) he comes to install the part (mind you the polar vortex happened in here and my pipes burst - no wonder) and turns out two coils were broken while they only identified one broken at the service call. Walter told me it would be another 30 days for the second coil. (2/13) My friend ordered a second coil off the internet for $30 and got another HVAC technician to come out to look at my heater and within 2 hours the heat was working. Turns out Walter's coil was not properly installed in the heater. So he took my money and was completely incapable of operating on my unit. He should not have accepted the work. Walter is running an absolute scam here, he is not qualified to operate on electric heaters yet falsely misrepresented to me he could. Walter's team member was blatantly negligent as he did not identify a second coil was broken (the two broken coils were next to each other). This con-man left me without heat for TWENTY. SEVEN. DAYS. In Chicago. In winter. read more

Arzet Heating & Air Conditioning - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Fantastic service. Quick response time, friendly staff and incredibly helpful over the phone. Arzet came out to tune our HVAC system. No issues. While there I asked for a quote to install a common wire for a Nest thermostat I purchased. They gave me the quote, but then suggested I install myself since it's relatively easy and would be expensive for them to do it. They walked me through how to do it over the phone at no cost. That's amazing. Victor and Walter are awesome! Will be using them again. read more

The best! Walter and his team are responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and honest. We always recommend them to our clients, but I have used them twice now on my personal residence and I couldn't be happier. My furnace was recently making some loud noises, Walter was able to give advice over the phone, send someone to inspect same day, and fully replace my furnace for new the very next day. Not to mention they did not pressure us or upsell, they gave 3 options at different price points to repair or replace. With my new tenants scheduled to move in 2 days later, I couldn't appreciate the prompt service more! read more

Excellent service. The techs always showed up on time and were very professional. We had our AC replaced last month and due to the size of the new condenser coil, they had to reposition our furnace. Because of that the existing humidifier unit would no longer fit. They replaced our humidifier a couple weeks later at no cost. Highly recommended crew ... Walter and his team were always pleasant and easy to work with on the phone and on the job. Thank you! read more

Beware Arzet Heating & Air, they will rip you off when your air conditioning breaks down in the summer heat. The a/c at my condo went out and I called Arzet to come take a look. They told me I needed a new run capacitor and the total charge would be $625. Pretty pricey, but worth it to get the air running again! Then a few hours later the air was not cold at all so I called and they scheduled a visit for tomorrow. The next visit they told me I had a freon leak which needed to be fixed and I had three options: 1) Recharge the freon and add leak stopper for $1100 2) Do a leak test and repair the leak and add freon for $1700 3) Replace the whole system for $5200 I chose option two because the unit is 11 years old and it should last for a few more years at least. They did the leak test for maybe 2 hours and told me they could not find the leak and it must be in the wall so there is nothing they can do. Also they will add leak stopper to the freon recharge which will be an additional $275. So I had to pay them $1975 because I chose option two instead of option 1, which would have saved me $875. I called them about this obvious discrepancy in my invoice and they said a manager would get back to me by the end of the day. No one ever called me back. So I paid $2600, half the cost of a new system for them to not solve my problem. Call anyone else if you want to save yourself thousands of dollars for a normal service call. read more

Great experience. They were able to come the same day. The technician arrived on time, was very thorough, and explained everything to me along the way; it was clear that he wanted to really understand my entire system before diagnosing the problem. It turns out that the problem is not really solvable just given how my hvac was installed (not up to code) but I feel much better informed as a result of the visit. I will definitely call them for future needs. read more

We had a great experience working with Arzet. Walter was communicative, flexible and always prompt, friendly and professional. We have a unique, decades-old HVAC system that baffled literally every other company service person that came to work on it. And, in fact, the company we spoke with before finding Arzet on Yelp flat out refused to work on it after seeing it. In contrast, Walter was able to figure out how the system was set up in his first few minutes of examining it. He was also able to diagnose the problem and even come up with a temporary patch that would give us air conditioning again while we waited for the custom parts to come in for a replacement. We definitely recommend Walter and his team. Also, when he visited he always wore a mask and covered his shoes when in the house. Something that was important to us. read more

Walter did an amazing job for us replacing our AC, thermostat, whole house humidifier, and vents. He also did a number of handyman fixes for things that were breaking down. My rental company uses Arzet for the outdoor AC unit on our house. Walter was easy to work with -- I knew when he'd be coming by to diagnose and then when he'd be by again to replace the unit, which ultimately only took a few hours. With COVID on everyone's minds, Walter and his team wore masks and helped me identify parts inside our house that allowed him to purchase the correct parts and do all the work outside. When we purchase a house, we'll consider Arzet for HVAC work. read more

Superb HVAC company who knows their business well. Walter and his team are quick to respond and will let you know if something is not in their wheel-house. Arzet could not be better. They are quick to respond, provide efficient service, and they also explain everything they are doing in so much detail that I completely understood everything they needed to do to test and replace my water heater. The whole team is also very friendly and service oriented. One example: we had a miscommunication (my fault) about whether a certain part also needed to be replaced. On the day they replaced my water heater, one team member went out to local stores to find the part so that the whole job could be completed on time on the same day. They didn't push back or try to lay blame, but just did the job perfectly with an amazing attitude and customer service. I have used Arzet services in the past and my experience is always 100% positive. I highly recommend. read more

Started out as a good interaction, Arzet had been recommended to me by another condo in my building. My A/C failed in the middle of a heat wave. They responded quickly, found that my freon was low, and recommended recharging. The bill was high, $600, but it was over a weekend, and I figured it was premium rates. 1 week later, the A/C failed again, and they came out and found the freon had leaked again. I told them my condo unit would be paying for repairs, and I needed a quote to locate the leak. After several attempts to get a response, they quoted me $1600 just to locate the problem. I ended up hiring a different company. The new company charged $300 to diagnose, and found the leak within 15 minutes. And they saw the initial bill from Arzet, and commented that it was way higher than industry standard for simple pressure check and recharge. read more

Knowledgeable, professional, and fairly priced. Had another company come out without doing my research and they said I needed a circuit board and gas valve replaced on my furnace, then quoted me an outrageous price. Arzet came out and said the gas valve is completely fine and didn't need to be replaced. They were less than half the price of the first company, and did all the repairs/replacements in the same day. I can't recommend Arzet enough! read more

We had a very positive experience with Arzet, not only are they very responsive to inquiries but they are also sincere, ethical and very reasonably priced. This was the first time we needed to hire someone to take a look at our furnace and so we called around a few places for estimates. Arzet by far was the most economical in terms of what was needed (simple winter maintenance). I know people that work in the industry but live quite far and they gave me a ballpark figure of what is a reasonable price to charge (nothing over $80) which was what Arzet charged($75). Other places quoted me as high as $125 and another one $80 for the 1st hr and then $35 thereafter. I do not like these type of "surprises" and conditional pricing because it is very easy to overcharge to benefit themselves. I want a set price and a reasonable at that and Arzet provided that. But aside from their prices, we never felt they were trying to lure us in getting/buying unnecessary things. They were efficient and knowledgeable in their craft and provided an honest assessment. We will definitely continue to use them for any AC/heating needs. read more

I've used Arzet Heating & Air Conditioning 3 times over the past few years. Once to fix an issue another HVAC company caused, once to check my heat and diagnose a humidifier issue, and finally to replace my aging HVAC unit. This team is great to work with! They are all very responsive, friendly and show up on time. They provide helpful information but aren't pushy about forcing you to fix things that aren't needed. They gave me estimates, explained the cost and the price was exactly the same at the end. As a woman knowing nothing about HVAC systems, it is so nice to know you're not being taken advantage of. This is the only company I will call moving forward should any issues arise but with my brand new system I'm sure I'm set for awhile!! read more

Arzet just replaced 2 HVAC units in our loft--both in the ceiling and not easily accessible. Chose Arzet not only because price was slightly lower than one of the bigger companies, but, more importantly, because its a smaller, independently owned company and Walter seemed to be both knowledgeable and a man of his word--got the feeling if anything goes wrong with the units he'll sort them out. They did a great job and took no longer than Walter's estimate--would highly recommend them. And left no mess.. read more

Walter and his team are THE best! They're the nicest guys, always responsive, and super knowledgeable. We had a couple of things done in our new home in Des Plaines including a new water heater. Walter is a genius. He came recommended to me from another agent that often uses him. After talking to dozens of HVAC companies, Walter was the only one who devised a creative plan to solve an issue with a very difficult to heat space (25 ft ceilings in concrete loft). His ideas made perfect sense but we were still a bit afraid that it wouldn't work. We decided to proceed with the job because he made us feel very comfortable with his follow up and "plan B" solutions, just in case. Wow are we glad that we went ahead and hired him. We can finally live comfortably in this space where we use to freeze in all winter. His price was very fair and his service/follow up were stellar. He's our guy now. So lucky to have found him. read more

Wow!!! Walter and his staff deserve more than five stars - we had the BEST experience from bid to installation. I can't recommend them more highly. We had unexpected building structural issues come up during the installation (improper joist support under the mechanical closet) - Walter stepped up and addressed it thoroughly, taking pictures and videos for me as I was away for most of it, and in the end I have such peace of mind that it was done the right way. I simply can't thank him and his staff enough! You won't regret working with them! read more
