Absolutely the worst. They Could not figure out the problem on multiple trips. Charged me a lot of money anddddddd Still broken. No problem it's 30 degrees out. Should be cited and closed by the BBB. These guys respond quick. I used them a few times but the last time I felt comfortable reaching out the tech came out said my furnace motor was bad and that he would have to check in his truck if he had a replacement. He took my old motor out and then came back with seamingly the same part and said, "you are in luck because I had one in the truck". I am generally a trusting person but after thinking over what happened I feel like I may have been scammed and the same motor was used. I was charged almost $1k for "replacement of the motor". I know for next time to ask for the defective part as a rule of thumb EVERY time. I think at a minumum the tech should have provided it to me so that I would not even have a doubt that the part was in fact replaced. Lesson learned. read more

A second update. We've recently found out that the furnace Ferraro installed for us is twice the size needed for our house. We also found out that they did not install it up to code and the particular issue they botched leaves us with a high probability of a serious issue should the gas line ever leak--such as an explosion. We're having to pay almost $600 to get the four-year-old furnace up to code and prevent serious damage. Avoid this company. read more

I had Ferraro come out for a pre-winter service inspection on my furnace. When I called, I mentioned I've noticed an unfamiliar sound coming from the draft inducer motor and that the furnace would only start some of the times when it called for heat. During the service call they quickly concluded a draft inducer motor replacement was required and was the underlying issue. He obtained a quote on the spot at $823 for the replacement. The motor was not in stock, and we agreed I would let them know ASAP if I wanted to go ahead with the replacement. Since it was an unexpected costly repair decided to get a second opinion from another recommended local HVAC company. They were able to stop by the following day and within 10 mins they disconnected the hose attached to the draft inducer motor and found parts of leaves stuck in the moisture trap. They cleaned it out, reattached it and the motor and entire furnace now works without any issues. The service call was $85. I must admit I rarely write reviews, but this was such neglectful job done by Ferraro which would've cost me $823 instead of a $95 service call fee. This was either a shameful way of scamming a customer or an ignorant approach trying to identify the issue. Needless to say, this is a 1-star review. read more

Woke up Sunday morning no heat. Called Ferraro HVAC and talked to Anthony the owner. John a tech arrived within an hour and thirty minutes later our 35 year furnace was running like new. John had enough time to answer all our questions about a new furnace A/C and heat pump. I'll be calling them back this spring. read more

I've called this company three times for service for our furnace or AC. Twice, they didn't come out or charge us because Anthony explained how to fix the issue myself over the phone, which was amazing. When I finally did need help, on a Sunday, they were there within 20 to 30 minutes to get our furnace going. We live in a tri-level townhouse so the roof where our AC unit is located isn't easily accessible. Several of the companies I called wouldn't come out or didn't have tall enough ladders. I called Ferraro HVAC and Anthony was super helpful with his "let's figure it out" attitude. Our technician showed up (John) and Anthony had another tech nearby just in case John needed help getting up on our roof. No need. John figured it out, found the problem, fixed what needed to be fixed (nothing more, nothing less) and explained quite a few other things to me about our AC unit. John recognized our address from previous visits to our townhome community, stopped at the shop beforehand and came equipped with the right ladder. To make room for the ladder, John had to move patio furniture around. He took a photo of the furniture so he was able to replace the furniture to the same spots. A few of our neighbors recently had their AC units replaced ($4k-$5k ish) so I was prepared for the worst news possible. I know our day is coming, but it wasn't today. We went with Ferraro at the recommendation of a neighbor and we are glad we did. Was having difficulty with our AC this spring. Only our second summer in this house and we know the compressor outside is over 20 years old. Was this going to be the year we'd have to replace? We hoped not. I had a couple of other companies come out and assess and the prognosis was not great. But Ferraro identified a very simple source to the problem. Thank you for responding to our call in the middle of the night during the coldest day of the year in December. The motor on our furnace needed to be replaced and we realized it was failing at the worst possible time. With a sleeping infant, we needed a solution fast. Thank goodness for the fast response of Ferraro and a few space heaters. The gentleman arrived to our home at 7am and measured our living room in the 30 degree range. He realized our motor was an atypical size, but so happened to have the correct motor on his truck for another home he was supposed to install later in the week. Because we are in an emergency situation, he was able to use that motor for our home. I almost cried in relief. We had a really awesome experience with Ferraro. Our Furnace stopped working in the middle of the night. I called the next morning and they had someone out to the house within about 3 hours. The person on the phone was extremely friendly, let us know up front the initial diagnostic costs and gave us an ETA update when our guy was on the way to the house. Anthony was great - he identified the problem quickly, was very knowledgeable and also gave us some recommendations for long term preventive maintenance for our system. He also let us know what the final cost would be before we agreed to the service. The overall cost was very reasonable. Now our house is toasty and warm! Will 100% use Ferraro HVAC again! read more

Hate to break the string of great reviews but I received very bad customer service and the reason I called this place was because of all the good reviews. When I first called and explained my problem I was told someone would be out to meet me to check it out in person. He said I would get a call when he was on his way. Never got a call!! I proceeded to make 3 or 4 follow up calls until I finally got through again. I was given a song and dance as to why no one called me (insert eye roll) He told me he would come out 2 days later and after looking at my problem, told me he would check with his supplier for parts and get back to me. 4 days went by I heard nothing again!! I had to reach back out and was told he couldn't get the parts I needed. Turns out it was a pretty easy part to get from the next guy I called. So here's my issue. If you can't or don't want to do the job, or maybe you're so busy you don't have time?! Just tell people that and don't drag them along with hopes that you will get back to them. Stay away from this company! We used this company earlier this summer to diagnose coolant leakage from our AC unit. Came by to place a dye through the system to find the source of leak and refill the coolant in our AC unit. Never came back as follow up. Never returned our phone calls. I called Ferraro HVAC this morning as soon as they opened for business because my A/C went out last night. I expected to have to wait a long time for an appointment because of the hot weather we have had this month. Anthony answered the phone immediately and scheduled my service for today at 1:30pm! At 1:15pm they called to let me know that Don, the technician, was on his way. To my great satisfaction, he arrived 5 minutes early and wore a mask. He quickly diagnosed and explained the problem and the solution. Don fixed the faulty wiring and tested the rest of the system to ensure I wouldn't have any more problems. In total it took 30 min for him to get everything done. The price for their services is at the low end of the normal range, and I could not have been more pleased with the quality and speed of the service. read more

Also worth noting, their bid was much more reasonable than Four Seasons; here in Chicago Four Seasons is the company to beat in terms of HVAC. Another really important note, they sent an installer to complete the bid. Which means their is no disconnect between sales and installation. Another common problem with bigger companies. I cannot say enough about how appreciative we are to Anthony and his team who stepped in when another HVAC company failed us. First, two years ago another company convinced that buying a new 'energy efficient' AC would give us better cooling than our older non energy efficient AC. That was absolutely not the case, at all. Every day after the other company installed the AC, we were dying of heat in our home, ranging from the very high 70s to low 80s INSIDE. Out of frustration, we hired Ferraro HVAC and they were wonderful. They installed a new dedicated furnace and AC for the basement, allowing the main floor and upstairs to share the new 5 ton energy efficient unit. He completely solved our cooling problems. Issue #2: This week the zone heating that the other HVAC company installed in 2016 stopped working. After the other company blew my appointment off, and told me they could not come until late next week even though over night temps are expected to be in the 30s, I called Anthony, the owner of Ferraro HVAC, and his tech Don came the next day. Don found that a switch had gone bad in the furnace, and he had the furnace up and working in 30 minutes. I highly recommend the expertise and reliability of Ferraro HVAC, and would recommend them for future heating and cooling needs. They are also very reasonable in their pricing, and explain everything they will do and explain again after they have done the work, showing you exactly what was done. Ferraro will get the job done...if you can ever get them to show up. I had them come out in the spring because my furnace was kicking on and off too frequently. They were 45 minutes late, but did identify the problem and have the part that was needed available right then and there. Sadly, I can never seem to get them to come out to do a summer AC check. First time I tried to schedule, they were busy due to a holiday. No big deal. I scheduled a week later. After waiting an hour and a half, I called and there was a mix up with their scheduling book. Ok, it happens. Scheduled for the next week and received a call that they had to cancel because it was raining. Ummm...life is too short to wait for the rain to stop or for the AC guy. read more

When booking the appointment, they spent time on the phone upfront to help educate me on some questions I had and offer up alternative fixes to try before having them come out to save money. My central AC unit stopped working, and I was told by another company that it would need to be replaced completely for thousands of dollars. I asked Anthony to come give a second opinion on the issue and quote a new unit (based on great Yelp reviews) but he was able to repair my existing unit that day, and made adjustments to keep it running efficiently. He was very thorough with investigating the real cause of the problem as opposed to just trying to sell me an expensive service or unit (which he certainly could have because I called him specifically to quote a new unit). He even pointed out some big potential installation cost issues that we would have encountered if we had just replaced the unit that the other company didn't even mention or notice. I'm definitely going to use this company in the future as my go-to for hvac needs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any of my friends or family. read more

Honest, thorough and affordable. Anthony helped us out with our aging, less common furnace. Within a very short amount of time he was able to diagnose the problem and ordered a relatively hard to find part to be installed the next morning. We had our heat back on very quickly and he was able to even make some fine tuning adjustments to our furnace to help reduce wasted gas.
