Antonio and Luis were the two techs who came out to give my AC system a "once over". Boy did they! Luis was very meticulous in his disassembly, cleaning, inspecting and re-assembling the condenser. Both gentlemen were professional and knew their craft. Luis took a great deal of time to explain their processes. Great value as well. Highly recommend....family business too! read more

After getting a referral from my friend Wes I contacted and set up a quote with Kats. Giovanni came right out and was the only one out of the 3 companies that listened to our needs and gave me a quote on what I wanted but also a couple of other options in our price range, the service tech Isai did the installation and was very professional and was able to help me understand our new system and helped set up the cell phone app. All in all a great experience and very happy with the service and experience with Giovanni and his crew. read more

Kats Heating & Cooling is the best HVAC company you'll ever come across. I've had them repair as well as replace HVAC systems and every interaction I've had with them has been a positive one. They are extremely responsive, offer very competitive pricing and are top-notch professionals. I always feel comfortable with them in our home and will continue to recommend them to everyone. I wish all businesses operated the way Kats does, you won't be disappointed. read more

came the same day! Angel the tech was very nice and carefully explained what needed to be done and gave many price options!

Friendly, responsive, quick, and informative. Our a/c was refilled by a family friend a year ago and is not working again so we assumed we had a leak. We called Kats, left a message and they got back within a couple hours to set up a time 2 days later. Paid for a refrigerant refill and a sealant that should patch it if it is a smaller leak. They said to reach back out if it is not working again in a couple months and may be a larger issue. Paid $99 for service fee, $285 for 3 lb of refrigerant, and $165 for the UV sealant dye. read more

We had Giovanni as our tech. He was extremely professional, made sure he cleaned up after his work and saved us a bunch of money because he found a small issue after other companies said we need a new furnace. read more

Giovanni and his team are awesome. replaced two furnaces with them after moving into a 20 year old home. Honest quoting process in super timely manner, fair pricing and great communication. The team did excellent work in terms of pulling / disposing old units, installing new systems and ancillary equipment and cleaning up. appreciate how careful they were with walls, floors, etc. will definitely use them for future projects. read more

Giovanni was incredibly helpful in diagnosing air flow troubles we have in our new home. He offered many solutions starting with a low cost Plan A and then back up Plan B and C. Will absolutely use them again for any HVAC needs going forward. read more

Our A/C died last summer for our third floor, and the place was starting to feel like a furnace on hot days. We contacted three companies to come out and give a quote. They were great when they arrived: masked appropriately, bringing their own booties, they took a look, made some measurements, and sent out quotes for a variety of options. Giovanni was thoroughly professional, very informative, and honestly just came across as a genuinely nice guy.(One of the other companies didn't even bother to send a quote...) Life got busy, and fixing the A/C got pushed to the back burner. When I contacted Giovanni again, he came right back out (even though it is nearly July and they are MUCH busier,) let the previous quote stand, didn't argue with our choosing just to do the A/C instead of also doing the furnace, and got us scheduled for two days later on the weekend (as they were booked up during the week until the middle of July.) So, as a Father's Day present, I got a new A/C installed. Nice! They showed up early, put down tarp on the stairs, were overall quiet enough that the baby sleeping in the room below where they were working didn't wake up, and finished right on schedule. I will definitely be using them for our heating/cooling needs in the future. Honestly, you probably should, too! read more

Submitted a request for an AC/Furnace replacement estimate at 4 p.m. and Giovanni called me and was able to come out in 2 hours after finishing up another job. Walked me through the situation and helped tailor multiple packages following a "good/better/best" pricing structure. Extremely professional, courteous, timely, helpful, great experience! read more

Giovanni was on time, polite, and very quick with his work. He knew what was wrong right away and had the replacement in his truck. I HIGHLY recommend using Kats! read more

We called Giovanni (Kats Heating and Cooling) at 3:05pm because our furnace was making a weird noise and there was some water near the base. He was there within 20 min!! He assessed the issue and was able to remedy the problem quickly with the part he had with him. He double checked the entire unit, changed the filter and was extremely down to earth, polite and professional. Great experience, overall! Finding good, quality service has been impossible these days. It's a relief to have one area of homeownership covered! He's our go-to for all HVAC work from now on. Katsheating. read more

This company is fantastic. I called to get a second opinion on whether or not my furnace needed to be replaced, and Giovanni made time to come and check out the furnace the same day. He was on time, professional, and honest about what I needed to do to keep my furnace running. I was very grateful for the superb service after another much less reputable company tried to scam me into buying a furnace from them through one of their salesperson "technicians." read more

This review is being written minutes after Giovanni leaving. Which should tell you how happy I am with the service they provided. So, a week ago, the AC went out in my house (fan in outside unit). Being that it was 90+ outside, I called and whatever company was the first to say they could arrive, I went with. The company that came out got it working and I was told I should replace the whole system. For the last week, my AC has been on nonstop. I researched online and found that American Standard was rated the best by Consumer Reports. I found multiple companies to come out and give me estimates. Knowing enough about AC to get by, one by one the companies came out. They all ranged from replacing the whole system, to a valve inside the furnace (which was from the original company who fixed the AC, which was a little weird) and then Giovanni came out. After moving some appointments around because of my work schedule, he came promptly on time. As another review said, he wore booties in the house. He checked the furnace and AC. When I told him it wasn't cooling the house, he put his gages on the AC (he was the ONLY one to have digital gages) and said, I needed refrigerant, which all the other companies said was either correct or too high. He showed me the gages and explained everything in detail. He recharged the system and within a matter for 10 minutes, you could tell the difference in the performance and temp of the air coming out of the registers. I have no clue why there are only three reviews on this company, but I can tell you one thing. I rarely ever write reviews and I took the time to write one as soon as they left. I will say, that I didn't end up getting a quote for a new system from them so I don't know how they compare, but I can tell you, even if it is more money, I would go with them 100% of the time because customer service is just as important as price. As for the price of the repair he completed... I saw the bill and said "wow". Giovanni thought I was unhappy with the cost, but it was the total opposite. I went from being told I had to fork over $7,000 for a new unit, to $400 for a repair and then my final bill with Giovanni was $155. Please use them, you will be sorry if you don't. read more

While searching for a new HVAC system we called 4-5 different companies looking for bids. For all of them we waited 3-5 days for a call back. That is until we heard about Kat's! Giovanni called and stopped by the same day. We had a quote with our OK, good, better, & best option the next day. His attention to detail and front end customer service told me this was our guy. The install went great as he was professional, clean, & patient with our 3 kids & dog running around the house. You really need to look no further. Excellent service, high quality products (American Standard), & local. read more

Kats heating did a great job replacing my AC unit and installing a dehumidifier. The owner is Giovanni, he personally showed up with his team to install the equipment which was great. He showed up on time and like the previous reviews stated he even wore booties when he was in the house! They cleaned up everything and left no mess behind. I am recommending Kats heating to everyone I know. read more

Kats Heating and Cooling - Sheet metal work looks beautiful! - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Downers Grove, Illinois

My husband and I are pretty clueless when it comes to shopping for an air conditioner and furnace. I tried researching online but had no idea what a BTU was or how many I needed. My husband called Kats Heating because they are local and there were positive reviews online. No one answered and he didn't want to leave a message so he hung up. A representative still called him back even without receiving a message! I can't get people who I leave urgent messages for to call back.. After speaking with my husband they came out the same day for a consultation. We met with Giovanni in the evening. We was very professional, even wore foot covers every time he was in our house. He looked over our aging units and explained why we're having the issues and high bills that we were having. He was patient and explained everything throughly to us. He even told us what to research so we could compare with other companies. We had him come out the following week to review pricing. Three days after that they did the installation. During the installation they again were professional and very nice. We feel there pricing was very fair and do not feel that we were over charged in any way. I would gladly recommend them and do business with them again. My husband and I still can't believe that in less than 2 weeks of "thinking" about getting new units that we actually have them! read more

I was in search of a second opinion as to the problem we've been having with our HVAC system: no heating/AC coming out of our bedroom vents. (The first company that provided an estimate said I was in need of a new furnace/AC, even though my AC unit was only a year old, so I wanted a second opinion before committing to such a large expense.) I came across Kat's Heating and Cooling on Yelp and decided to give them a call. Giovanni responded immediately to my message, and I scheduled an appointment for him to come out to see if I was in need of a new system. Giovanni said my system was indeed fine and didn't try to sell me on a new one. He believed it was the house's old duct work, which is what I originally assumed was the problem, that was limiting airflow. He adjusted my DC motor and suggested I close off some vents to see if that helped. He said the alternative was tearing through our finished basement's drywall to redo the duct work, which I think is something both of us wanted to avoid doing. I truly appreciated Giovanni's honest solution to my problem. I now trust him with all my HVAC needs, and whenever I do need a new furnace/AC, I will definitely be calling Kat's Heating and Cooling. Thank you! read more

I rarely write reviews but was so happy with my service that I felt compelled to. I had another local HVAC tech come out; he couldn't solve the problem. Giovanni came out and told me within 15 minutes what it was. He was honest and knowledgeable; something that is unfortunately hard to find in a business. We talked through the different solutions (fixing, replacing, considered the age of current system); he was not pushy nor "salesy". Kats for sure has all my future business! read more

Johnny was a great person to hire for what I thought would be a decent sized job of three furnaces. It turned out that only one of them needed servicing and the other two could go another season. He could have simply serviced all three and I would have been none the wiser. Instead my bill was $89 and knock on wood I'll be seeing Johnny next yr. Along with being a skilled technician, and extremely professional he's honest. I'll be recommending him to anyone I know in need. read more

Third experience with Kats Heating & Cooling, an outstanding operation. Last month, my brother's rental that I manage needed servicing. I called at 9am in the morning. They were out by 11am. Accessibility is excellent, particularly during the peak of cold winter weather. After inspection, the verdict was the boiler (which they did not install), was not powerful enough for the dwelling size. In addition, they went above and beyond checking the storm windows discovering one was not properly in tact. Early this morning, during sub zero temps, I had an issue with my heat not blowing air out while the unit was running. A call was put through at 7:30am, Micah was out by 9:30am. He was polite, professional, wore booties and very informative. Blower motor was replaced, and by 10:30am I had heat again! The integrity of this company cannot be beat. Integrity is golden in my opinion. Their response time is excellent. Their attention to detail is terrific. Their knowledge is extensive. By far, the best experience I've had with hvac service now two years in a row! A++ read more

When our hot water heater started to leak we reached out for multiple quotes because we intended to replace both units we have. When Giovanni came out to give us a quote, he told us that we could put in 1 higher capacity unit that would more than fullfil our needs...saving us money. He and a colleague did the installation flawlessly, even with the interruption of my dog. We had a great experience with Kats and would recommend to anyone! read more

Very professional, informative company. Explained everything so I would understand exactly what I needed and what service was needed and being done. They even wore boot covers and put down tarpes to keep my floor clean. Very happy with the outcome and happy with the service! I highly recommend this company! In my mind there is no other choice! I used Kats services for the first time to get my furnace tuned up before this current winter. I got a response within 24 hrs of contacting them and we scheduled service a little over a week afterward. This timeliness was not my experience with two other highly rated companies I contacted. I was satisfied with the quality and cost of service (Thanks Giovanni!) and Kats Heating and Cooling will definitely be top on our list to contact for our HVAC system maintenance. read more

Ditto to the other five star reviewers! We needed to replace an ancient wall-mounted space heater and, since those are not in much use today, we needed advice on availability and installation. We contacted the local supplier for the units and they were adamant in their praise for Giovanni and Kats Heating! They were correct! Giovanni's price was extremely good and the installation was superb! They fit the new unit in the same opening as the old one and we were back in business in a couple of hours! Five Stars! Giovanni came to my condo in the city to repair my heating system. He was super honest and before he came out he told me he didn't want to charge me for a service call if it was something I could fix myself. He walked me through three different things before it was decided there was something needing to be fixed. Once he got here he explained everything that he would do. He answered all my questions in a professional manner. I highly recommend Kats. read more

As previous reviews state, very professional and overall just excellent customer service. Giovanni returned my 3am call right away and said he could even come out right then. I told him not to worry about coming right away but first thing in the morning would be great. He came when promised, wore booties, had to crawl around in our attic, found the problem, explained it thoroughly...even took a video of it so I didn't have to go up into the attic (so smart of him) and he even offered to go to the store to grab a new filter for us. No extra charge. He is courteous and professional and we will definitely be calling Kats for future issues. He even gave me the $25 off discount because they had a coupon in The Clipper right now for that much. read more

Last week had our first experience with Kats and could not be more pleased. Our air conditioning unit went out during the first spring heat wave (in the 90s) and when I called Kats and left a message in the morning I received a call back within 20 minutes. When Giovanni returned my call he spent time with me on the phone to understand what the issue was. As we live in a multi-story townhouse, our air conditioning units are located on the roof of the third story of our home and unlike a condo building, are not accessible by a window or direct access door. Despite this issues, Giovanni came out that same day to see what he could do. He arrived exactly within the window of time that was scheduled and he went above and beyond to access our AC unit, despite the heat and the unusually complicated access. Giovanni stuck to it until the AC was fixed (something that turned out to be a minor rather than major issue, which demonstrated to me the honesty/integrity of the company) and was very professional as well as knowledgeable. If we need service for our home again, we will def. cal Kats. read more
