Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

I began shopping around for quotes, and was ignored or - in one case - told they wouldn't work on it "but good luck". We have an older manufactured home that we're trying to keep alive just long enough to build our forever home, but that still requires the occasional repair and all we seem to run into are people who tell us it cannot be done. Our house is too old. Our equipment is too old. Nothing can be repaired. Sometimes we can't even get people to show up and replace them. Then I met Alex. We discussed multiple options, and we decided to upgrade to a tankless given that the old water heater had apparently been leaking - a fact that the other plumber had apparently completely missed. Not only that, he was able to diagnose an issue with our furnace that will allow us to give it a much needed repair for far, far less than we were quoted. (Originally we were told we needed a full replacement as parts couldn't be ordered for it. He immediately found the part and it's cheap and easy to replace!) Alex treated us like people, listened to us, helped however he could, and even when parts didn't fit he worked tirelessly to get replacements immediately. He was always customer conscious. My water heater went out. The company that "diagnosed" the problem charged me $99 and said that…read morethis did not include the cost to replace it. The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland!
