I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! We used Wallin Heating and Colling to install new heater and AC in our condo. During install the owner showed up with 2 additional techs that looked like they were hangover from alcohol. I cought them looking into my fridge without a permition. They damaged my walls while uninstalling the old heater. But the biggest disappointment came when I saw how they installed new unit. Very sloppy job. Missing parts, missing seals, equipment not installed properly. Water dripping from a pipe in a closet, water dripping inside the heater unit. Wiring exposed. I'm not even sure how can this type of service can survive nowadays. Stay away!!! I spent another 1000$ to fix all this mess read more

Wallin Heating and Cooling - This is how they left our unit - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

My AC went out while on vacation and came back to my upstairs at 91 degrees. I contacted Greg Wallin and he responded very quickly and scheduled my repair the next day. His customer service is stellar and is only shadowed by his technical expertise. He is FANTASTIC! I answered a few questions on the phone which prepped him for my call. His diagnosis was quick and the repair was speedy. He calls or texts to keep you advised of his ETA and it's spot on. He also educated me on how my unit works, which I always appreciate. No need to call anyone but Greg! simply.the.best. Thank you again Greg - see you at maintenance time! read more

Once again Greg came to the rescue when my air went out on the hottest days of the year!! if you want reliable, honest and good work he's your guy. I was so worried about my dog with it being almost 90 degrees in the house, but he came out and got me running before the worst heat of the day. A plus service. read more

Greg is amazing! Him and Chuy came out as soon as they could to check our thermostat on the coldest day in Chicago history! They got us up and running within an hour... very helpful and pleasant despite working non-stop since the wee hours this morning. SUPPORT THIS LOCAL BUSINESS! read more

TL;DR 10/5 will definitely use Wallin Heating and Cooling again if need be. Greg and his team came through when I was pretty frustrated with the whole HVAC industry in the city. He was thorough, professional, quick in the diagnosis and the fix. I wish I found him sooner, it would spare so much pain I had to go through while dealing with my situation. My furnace was broken (we got the place in April and discovered it's not operational when the last cold snap happened). The first company estimated me a very expensive part replacement or a new furnace install. They didn't exactly tell me what's wrong, just tried to upsell as much as possible. The other guy was assigned by a useless Home Warranty of America, didn't pick up the phone for 4 days then showed up practically unannounced, looked at a furnace claimed it's water damage and collected his Trade call fee and was on his way. Subsequently, HWA denied my claim. Greg, by contrast, responded 5 minutes later after I sent him a text and arrived in about an hour after that. He quickly diagnosed the issue (surprise, there was no water damage), went to the store to pick up the part and replaced it right away. He was upfront in his explanation of the issue, charged a very good rate, and gave me some solid advice on how to take care of the furnace to prolong its service life. He didn't try to take advantage of me being a first time home owner and clearly not having any experience in dealing with those kinds of situations. I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. read more

Greg was my lifesaver today! One of the coldest and most snowy days of the year. He came within a few hours! He drove through the snow and because our street wasn't plowed, walked down the street through the snow!! He diagnosed our furnace problem and fixed it within 15 minutes. I am so grateful and would recommend this company and Greg! read more

Greg was great. He was able to fix our AC in a pinch and made sure we got help even on a Sunday afternoon. He identified the issue quickly and had the parts with him to fix immediately. We are beyond pleased with his service and would happily call him again. read more

Excellent service! Greg is extremely professional, responsive and knowledgeable. We have used their services for a hot water replacement as well as HVAC services. He was willing to stop by on a Sunday to diagnose issues and present all the options, instead of just pushing his services or products. Great crew, highly recommend them for all heating and cooling needs!! read more

Greg provided awesome service in repairing our hvac machine which was making too much noise when started up. He ordered the necessary parts and came the next day to finish the work. He provided a free quote during his initial visit and didn't try to upsell me. I'll definitely be recommending him to friends in the area. read more

Came back from our honeymoon in Mexico to no heat... I had our landlord send our usual guy who is a "jack of all trades" type. Comes by, looks at it for 5 seconds and jets out. He doesn't speak much English but I do my best to inspect things while he's running to his car. "Thermocouple" is all I can make out. That wasn't it. It was replaced at the start of the season and I had just cleaned it to see if that was the issue. The thing is still blowing cold air so I get on the offense and find a service we can leverage who knows what they're doing. It's a holiday weekend and Greg answers. He calls back within 10 minutes and he can make it over the SAME DAY. He stops by and does an excellent job and explains how to prevent the issue from happening again. Fault of overuse and neglect with a cold winter of course. Needless to say Greg's card has been put on the fridge... CALL HIM! read more

Greg and Mike we're great-- I would highly recommend. Called and they were able to come out in less than an hour and work around my work schedule. They were friendly, helpful and took the time to explain the issue and how to properly take care of my furnace. I had been using filters that are not efficient and Greg gave me a new, better one free of charge. They were in and out quickly and solved my problem. Good price- cheaper than other quotes and companies I heard from and were able to come out much quicker. read more

Greg came out on a Sunday in an emergency situation and had my furnace working by Monday morning. He drove to/from the suburbs for a part, was prompt and professional. A nice guy who's passionate about keeping his neighbors' heating and cooling running. I would definitely hire him again and recommend his services. read more

Greg is amazing. I didn't know nice people like him still existed! My furnace wasn't working after I screwed up and blew a fuse. He didn't have anyone that could come today but he helped me troubleshoot it, and identify that the fuse needed replacing. We hung up and a minute later, he called back to let me know where to find the part, and to call him if I had trouble. I went and got the fuse, replaced it and the furnace works! Shortly after, Greg texted me to apologize for not being able to come out, and to confirm it was working. He went way above and beyond, got my furnace working, saved me money, and restored my faith that good people do exist! read more

We woke up to a furnace that wouldn't start on a 30 degree winter day. Greg and Carlos were able to get a service call to our home within 2 hours. Wallin Heating and Cooling - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Our furnace went out on an 8 degree evening and we were looking for someone in the neighborhood to help us out. We called Wallin. Greg was very helpful and competent-told us what he thought the issue was, and came over the next morning to help. 10 minutes and a good conversation later, we had heat and a guy we can call on in the future! Not only was he knowledgeable, but Greg is kind and easy-going, and will not take advantage! read more

I woke up to a sweltering 83* and my A/C blowing warm air while my Nest was reading 72*.... I called 3 places, a large company with over 1000 positive reviews, a well established local company that's known for good work, and Wallin. Greg got back to me first and was here the following morning. All three companies had the same assessment. The other two company's estimates came in far above Greg's and when I did my research to see how much the unit was, It was clear that he was honest and fair. He and his guys came the following day and got the job done. They were thorough and efficient and they left my place as clean as it was when they came in! Fantastic job, super pleased, highly recommend! read more

They came fixed my ac unit. Found the leak right away and fixed it. Found out the thermostat was another problem, came back right away and fixed that too. Very knowledgeable and didn't BS me with getting a new ac unit like the other company I called before them. I will for sure only call them for any future problems. read more

I had the homeowners nightmare happen where my water heater, AC, and furnace all needed to be replaced and it was on one of the hottest weeks of the summer. Mike and his crew were professional, to the point, and not pushy. He came in cheaper than the competition but didn't cut any corner... and they let our dog jump all over them and get a few licks in. I'd hire Mike and his guys over and over again and happy to give this recommendation. read more

NEVER use Choice Temp Heating and Cooling. I paid them $380 cash to replace my air conditioner condenser fan motor and to clean and check my air conditioner and furnace. My air conditioner, at that time, was not broken but it was time it was checked. Within three week my air conditioner was broken. I called Greg, the repair man, daily for 10 days . He has never gotten back to me. I had to hire another repair man and he showed me the fan blades were cracked and confirmed that the air conditioner and furnace had NEVER been cleaned. All Greg did was put in a new fan. The number on the card for this company is disconnected and the other number does not get answered. The business advertisement does have thee BBB symbol and it says accredited business. I am so disappointed with the service I received. Don't let it happen to you. I would give this business zero stars. read more

Greg and his company are great! I called at 9:00 AM on Monday morning because my condensing unit went out over the weekend and him and his assistant were out at my condo 20 mins later, diagnosed the issue, went to go get the faulty part and had the unit fixed and up and running by 10:00AM. Greg is honest, professional, knowledgeable, and is very reasonably priced. Thanks! read more

My furnace went out, the and I called one of the local companys, and the tech looked at my furnace and told me it is to old and not worth fixing, and that I should replace my furnace. That is not what I wanted to hear, especially when the furnace is only 9 years old. I called Choice temp and they sent out a tech named Greg, and he replaced the gas valve and a little clean and check, and my furnace was running like a champ. Thanks for saving me a lot of money and I didnt have to replace my furnace. read more
