Exceptionally, friendly service. I came here on a whim recently, when looking for a place to get my nice Hudson shorts altered at (waist area was too big). The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly from upon entering. He ended up suggesting not to cut the the shorts to fit, but rather to put a elastic sort of strap within the stomach area, preventing if to stretch any more. I went to pick up the shorts not realizing it was cash only, I freaked for a second; when he told me not to worry, and just to pay him the next day or when I'm in again - WHO TRUST'S PEOPLE LIKE THAT ANYMORE THESE DAYS!! I thought that was awesome and immediately drove to an atm and paid him! Now the shorts are still a tad big still, though they are better. Overall, I believe I have found my new tailor. read more

I found this alteration shop on Yelp, and I decided to give it a try. I trusted the owner with my wedding gown and my sister's bridesmaid dress--and they both turned out great! He shortened my dress and created 3 bustles for my very full wedding gown train. For my sister, he took in her bridesmaid dress and made it fit her perfectly! My family tailor suffered some medical complications recently and I was in need of some professional tailoring prior to starting my new job. I searched through Yelp and found Arya, which has great reviews and is close by. I dropped off 3 pairs of brand new trousers and slacks to have them hemmed and picked them up a week later. When I drop them off I was able to try on each pair with flats and heels to get the proper length suitable for both. Found Arya through yelp, with 5 stars I felt comfortable taking my wedding dress to him for alterations. I bought my dress to fit my hips(biggest part of my body), 6 months and 15lbs later the dress was too big everywhere!Arya did such an amazing job taking my dress in, adjusting the straps and even going above and beyond my expectations of putting in a bustle using the extra beads that came with my dress. I would refer him to anyone and everyone and will be going back for any alterations I may need in the future. This is my second review for Arya Alteration. Nabi worked on my mother's wedding dress for me and altered the sleeves to make it look less 80's. ;) He did such a good job we decided to take it back this week to get it steamed before my wedding day. Even with a broken hand he still got the dress done on time and even fixed some tearing on the lace on the bottom of the dress. I've had all my new suits tailored there (instead of waiting months for more expensive alterations at Men's Warehouse) and he did a bang-up job. My arm length is right in between a 32/33 and 34/35 so he was able to alter five of my shirts as well (also did a great job). I'll only go to Arya from here on out. WARNING: combination of very poor work and even worse customer service. We trusted Arya with a dress alteration before an out of town wedding. We came here because of the great reviews and had hoped for the same level of service but we were instead robbed of $50. The entire back of the dress was left unaltered leaving my wife in no better situation than when we arrived. When we took the dress in we made sure we had the shoes that she would be wearing so that the alteration would be appropriate. Only half the alteration was done. Now we are leaving town and have to take the dress somewhere else in the locale of the wedding to have it corrected. We did contact Arya in regards to this issue, but the only option we were given was to bring it in now, before our flight, to have him try to rush the job and fix it. We asked for a refund since we have to pay someone else to correct the job, and he became very argumentative and rude. We are new to the area and were looking for our go-to tailor, but Arya is DEFINITELY not it. I'll be telling this story of poor service and even more atrocious service to others while I keep looking for someone who is honest and does good work. read more

I've been coming to this spot for several years now. I bring in everything from tops, pants, and vintage dresses. He has a great eye for knowing exactly what to do to make whatever I bring to him fit. He is very reasonable on prices and is a complete gentleman. I have a short torso so 95% of my alterations are related to strap issues. It can sometimes feel awkward trying on clothes that are too low cut before they are altered but I have always felt very comfortable here. There has been a couple times where the alteration was not perfect but he was very quick to fix any issue I have had with any alteration I've had from him. Great tailor!!! read more

Been going to him for a few years with my school uniforms to make them fit better and too long of pants. Recently I took in a black all sequin dress with big sleeves. I stopped wearing this dress because of the sleeves. Took it to him saying I wanted the sleeve to be gone, the dress taken in and it made shorter. He started working on had me come in a few days later to pick up another dress he fixed, he had me try on the black dress. Re- fit it after he had already made changes and then went to work again. When I got the dress back it was a totally different dress and it was perfect!! Just what I wanted! And for the alterations to both dresses it was only $70. Amazing!!!! read more

Arya Alteration Tailoring did an amazing job on my wedding dress. My dress was very long for me and they were able to shortener the from without touching the tail end. They also fix my straps which were a little long. The only thing I would suggest is to improve is the way the dress tail was set up to be grab to make it short because my dress didn't last up and I had to carry it during the dance. So I've had the fortunate opportunity to visit Arya Alteration and am pleased to say that I now have a place that I wouldn't hesitate to employ over and over again! It's not often that you find yourself a place, in any respect, that is as accommodating, but Arya came through for me in a pinch with not only turnaround time, but on price, and quality of work. Because of my unfortunate luck, I found a pair of slacks only two days before my friend's wedding and, needless to say regarding most items purchased off the rack from any retail store, didn't fit as well as it should. As soon as I purchased the pants, I made haste to Arya's little, unassuming shop and asked if it would be possible to shorten the length and have it returned in less than 24 hours. (I know and I apologize for being THAT guy.) Well, as you may have already guessed we had everything measured up and by the following day the pants were hemmed and I was on my way. Frankly, I couldn't be happier with how everything worked out with this shop. Now I just need to find some time to take some of my other dress slacks/shirts over. My go to place for my clothing that needs to be altered. He does amazing work with everything I have taken here. His prices are very inexpensive and had it all done within a timely matter. I took my sister in law here to have her wedding dress altered and the cost to have it altered left her feeling super happy, since wedding dress alterations can be very expensive! He also fixed her veil since it was passed down from our Grandma (who got married in the 80's) It needed a few things cut off and he did a great job at making it look more like this generation cathedral veil! He also fixed my Bridesmaid dress that need so much work done to it. He really gave some good ideas on how it should be altered based on the way the dress fabric flowed. Since then i've brought in pants, dresses, shirts, etc. He also sews patches for those of us who are too lazy to do it ourselves. I just had two dresses and a pair of slacks altered. (I paid $120) I'm really disappointed because the dresses were for my engagement photos I'm taking this Friday in Hawaii. My dresses came back a lot shorter than what I thought it would be. I even brought the heels I was planning on wearing and watched him pin the dress. Mind you he only pinned the front. Maybe I should have told him to pin it longer. The back of my dress is noticeably shorter than the front. Is this normal?? My slacks also came back shorter than what he pinned as well. I was considering having my wedding dress altered here due to all of the great reviews, but sadly I don't think I'll be back. The owner was very nice. Definitely a man of few words. My recommendation is to be VERY clear in how long you want the length to be in the front and back. read more

Arya was recommended to me by my neighbors on Nextdoor. This place is amazing! I had a bridesmaid dress that needed a couple alterations in a short turnaround time. Dress delivered to me on a Friday, taken to Arya on a Tuesday to be ready by Thursday morning of the next week. I was able to come in, without an appointment, get fitted, and leave within minutes. The dress needed to be hemmed and detailed straps on the back needed to be adjusted. Then, changes in our travel schedule meant I needed to pick up the dress a day early. I called ready to beg and plead for a rush and was told the adjustments had been made and it was already ready to pick up! Excellent service, even better tailoring, and reasonably priced. I went in here after seeing it was super near my house to have them fix some work pants on which I'd broken the zipper. I was expecting to need to have the zipper replaced but the gentleman somehow just zipped it right up as if it had never been broken. He then put some thread into the zipper so it would not come off again and that was it. He did not even charge me. What wonderful customer service is all I can say. read more
