He took off 4 inches from the back and tapered the fit seemlessly. Now it fits like a glove. Definitely an EXPERT tailor!! I speak from experience because my father was an outstanding tailor for the elite in San Francisco. I needed to have the sleeves shorten on my blazer. It was more complicated than usual since the sleeves have 4 bottom holes with the buttons (see picture) and of course it is lined. The only way to tailor this would be to remove the sleeves and cut the armholes to fit. I already knew this from decades of watching my father do it, and making sure the sleeves hung correctly afterward. The tailor, Mr. Hanif Mones, shorten the sleeves and did am EXPERT job. OMG I was so impressed that when I got in the car I shed a tear of appreciation. Although my father is now deceased, Mr. Hanif Mones did exactly what was needed in the right way! I highly recommend EXPRESS TAILOR they certainly, "TAILOR TO TASTE", that was my father's motto and it is still alive with EXPRESS TAILOR. Bought suit from Nordstrom. Nordstrom did initial alterations, but I still wasn't happy with the fit. I went to Express Tailor and Hanif took quite a bit of time with me. His prices aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. He's a tailor, not someone that works in a dry cleaners doing alterations. If you have a quality garment that needs alterations, he's your guy. I got a suit jacket tailored here, the sleeves were too long and one sleeve had fabric hanging out. It was several months after tailoring that I had a chance to wear the jacket and discover the flaws (yes, I should have taken more time to check when I picked it up). No thanks to my love of food and Yelping all over the world, I gained a lot of weight (and, may I add, had a wonderful time doing it). Well, things changed with a lot of new priorities, and I have lost 33+ pounds, and plan to keep it off. This is where Express Tailor steps in: ================================= * My suits were humongous, 5 sizes too big. * Jackets, HUGE. * Other dress pants, ridiculous! I went to Macy's Walnut Creek choice for tailoring, their recommendation. Hanif, 3rd generation owner, was a gentlemen and pro. One by one, I tried on my XXL stuff, he measured, and quoted each. Horrible in every way! I have had my 2 sport coats there for 3 months and 2 weeks and they are still not done. The initial tayloring was not done properly and then they told me they would have it done in 2 weeks. That was 6 weeks ago. The cost was over 3x as much as a Taylor in Dublin and the Dublin taylor is always accurate in their adjustments. The only reason I tried this taylor is due to my living in Walnut Creek. I hope others research this taylor and look at others. It was a huge waste of money and more importantly my time. I rarely write reviews and this is due to the terrible experience I had continued to have at Express Tailor. Just horrible.!!! read more

Very satisfied with the service provided by Mr. Hanif here at Express Tailor. Called over the phone and spoke to him about getting 2 epaulets and buttons sewn on my CHP BDU uniform by tomorrow morning (9/30). He told me to swing by and he'd take a look at it. Parking is super hard unfortunately in this lot. Took me a while, but was able to eventually find parking in the back lot. Walked in around 3pm, and sure enough, Mr. Hanif was able to accommodate me, for a rush fee of course, which I had no problem paying. I also found out he had done several uniforms in the past too, including for WCPD, which I was happy to hear. First time Mr. Hanif has done a CHP uniform though, and I'm happy to be his first. The epaulets came with sewing instructions luckily and Mr. Hanif did an excellent job explaining to me how he would go about sewing them on. After all was said and done, he told me to come back in about 2 hours and then pay as well. You have lots of trust in your customers for sure to have them pay after. End result was exactly what I was hoping for, and out of all of the 5 places around here that I called, Express Tailor was the only one willing to accommodate me on my tight deadline. Was out of there by 5pm. Thank you for your amazing work and customer service.
