Bought suit from Nordstrom. Nordstrom did initial alterations, but I still wasn't happy with the fit. I went to Express Tailor and Hanif took quite a bit of time with me. His prices aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. He's a tailor, not someone that works in a dry cleaners doing alterations. If you have a quality garment that needs alterations, he's your guy. Hanif is a good honest guy. I am always skeptical visiting a business for the first time. But I just found my guy. He did the job well and QUICKER than I have ever seen and I am 50 years old. Hanif, you have a great thing going and for anyone who doesn't go there, think again. No strawberries and champagne for those entitled folks but if you want an honest to goodness job by a good small business, the owner is the one who does the job which was a big thing for me. Most businesses where the owner actually works does well. Pass it off to employees, they want their pay and don't care as long as it passes. Horrible in every way! I have had my 2 sport coats there for 3 months and 2 weeks and they are still not done. The initial tayloring was not done properly and then they told me they would have it done in 2 weeks. That was 6 weeks ago. The cost was over 3x as much as a Taylor in Dublin and the Dublin taylor is always accurate in their adjustments. The only reason I tried this taylor is due to my living in Walnut Creek. I hope others research this taylor and look at others. It was a huge waste of money and more importantly my time. No thanks to my love of food and Yelping all over the world, I gained a lot of weight (and, may I add, had a wonderful time doing it). Well, things changed with a lot of new priorities, and I have lost 33+ pounds, and plan to keep it off. I went to Macy's Walnut Creek choice for tailoring, their recommendation. Hanif, 3rd generation owner, was a gentlemen and pro. One by one, I tried on my XXL stuff, he measured, and quoted each. Very satisfied with the service provided by Mr. Hanif here at Express Tailor. Called over the phone and spoke to him about getting 2 epaulets and buttons sewn on my CHP BDU uniform by tomorrow morning (9/30). He told me to swing by and he'd take a look at it. Parking is super hard unfortunately in this lot. Took me a while, but was able to eventually find parking in the back lot. Walked in around 3pm, and sure enough, Mr. Hanif was able to accommodate me, for a rush fee of course, which I had no problem paying. I also found out he had done several uniforms in the past too, including for WCPD, which I was happy to hear. First time Mr. Hanif has done a CHP uniform though, and I'm happy to be his first. The epaulets came with sewing instructions luckily and Mr. Hanif did an excellent job explaining to me how he would go about sewing them on. After all was said and done, he told me to come back in about 2 hours and then pay as well. You have lots of trust in your customers for sure to have them pay after. End result was exactly what I was hoping for, and out of all of the 5 places around here that I called, Express Tailor was the only one willing to accommodate me on my tight deadline. Was out of there by 5pm. Thank you for your amazing work and customer service.
