I looked on Yelp because I needed a pair of pants hemmed today to take on a trip tomorrow. I called Hanif and he said he could help so I hustled down with my pants. Express is right! From measuring to finishing, I was there tops 30 minutes. Hanif was polite, efficient and professional. Best of all, I have my pants to take on my trip! Highly recommend! read more

Excellent work on 3 pairs of pants! And the work was completed early! I'm definitely a return customer. Thank you so much Hanif!

Wonderful service and friendly attitude. I had to be at a funeral on a Tuesday morning, and Hanif helped me out with a rush job late on a Saturday hemming my new suit pants. He did the work while I waited and I was very happy and lucky to have found him. read more

Turnaround for a tux fitted was a bit over a week. Paid for the quick turn service but looked great!

I was looking for a tailor that I could trust would do a great job. My son's favorite (and expensive) backpack zipper broke. I tried to see if I could repair it myself but the way it was positioned required an expert. When I read through the reviews, one in particular caught my eye. The reviewer described the owner as a gentlemen. Character and manners are big for me. I could tell from the reviews that he took great care with his craft and service. I walked into the shop and was greeted politely by Hanif. I showed him the backpack and he recommended replacing the zipper with a better, sturdier one. He also described how he would repair it. I was pleased so I decided to have him do it, plus my husband's nice jacket that also had a broken zipper. My gut feeling told me that he'd do a great job. When the items were ready it was time to pick them up. Gas prices had already sky-rocketed by then so I was hesitant to drive all the way to WC. He offered to deliver them to me! He didn't want me to waste gas and he lived nearby so assured me that it was no trouble. Talk about customer service! He showed up at the door with a pin in his mouth (like a true tailor), glasses down to his nose, and handed over the backpack and jacket. They were beautifully repaired. My son was so excited that he came to the door with a huge smile, thanked Hanif, then started filling it up with his schoolbooks right away. I will definitely reach out to him whenever I need something repaired or tailored. He cares and it shows in his work. If you want quality work done by a nice person, this is your guy. read more

I lost 30+ pounds and my beloved charcoal wool suit looked like a garbage bag. Hanif broke down the shoulders, redid the sleeves, tailored the back, and fixed the pants...looks like a new suit for a fraction of the cost. Recommended! read more

Express tailor is my absolute go to when I need something tailored. Hanif really knows what he's doing and I have tailored my suits here and have even turned a men's jacket into a women's jacket size wise. I have had crazy requests but Hanif has always been able to execute the job. I have never been disappointed in anything he has tailored for me and I highly recommend anyone to check this place out! read more

To begin with I would like to say that the gentleman running this shop is a right on man - an expert tailor and a life saver. I had a situation where I purchased two very expensive MLB authentic jerseys. Long story short what I received was a size larger than what was intended. I needed them right away and returning them was not an option so I had to have them altered. Who does that?! I was already upset with my situation but things got better once I found I had a solution after finding Express Tailor in Walnut Creek. Express Tailor was not only the only business open on Labor Day (awesome infinity), I was able to come in right away, sized perfectly, and he agreed to rush the project so I would have my shirts by the weekend. 100% A++ The price to alter the jerseys was very reasonable and the modest fee to rush the project was a deal at twice the price. Super! I was kind of nervous whether the material or my expectations would hold up, but when I picked up the fixed shirts all was good! Everything was clean, straight, even, and delicious! I appreciate the service I received and enjoyed, and would like to recommend this business to anybody and everybody who may need tailoring help; whether it be an alteration large or small - a suit, slacks, shirt, dress, or in my case something different like a baseball jersey. I'm super satisfied and will bring my future tailoring needs here knowing I'm in good hands read more

I purchased beautiful Spanx jeans that needed to be hemmed a couple inches and wanted a trustworthy, excellent tailor close to my work in Walnut Creek. Read Yelp reviews and went with Express Tailor. Thankful they were open until 6pm. Met Hanif who was personable, professional, and informed me the jeans may lose the original hem stitch. He would see what he could do. Ten days later I received a text message (which is my preferred mode of communication!) stating my pants were ready. The original hem stitch was kept and I can't even tell they were ever tailored. BEAUTIFUL JOB. Highly recommend Express Tailor. Thank you so much Hanif! read more

Express Tailor - Hemmed up over two inches with original stitch kept - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

I previously had my wedding suit tailored at "House of Couture" by Sharifa and it came out ridiculous! Really baggy pants and suit jacket that looked like it came out of the 90's and wouldn't listen to me when I addressed this issue. So I tried my luck with Express Tailor. I met Hanif and we discussed how I wanted the suit jacket and pants to be tailored, (more of a modern slim fit) and he was right on board with me! He immediately addressed the issues that i saw and fixed them immediately! Came back a few weeks later to pick up and try on the suit and it came out perfect!!! I Was very happy with him and was truly worth every penny! And he even had my suit ready a few days early because I was so stressed out. So if you're looking to have your suit fit EXACTLY how you want I 100% suggest coming to Express Tailor. read more

I had been looking for a tailor in my area and so glad I decided on Hanif's shop! I've already had a few items tailored including dresses, pants and tops, and he has done amazing with everything! He explains how each item will turn out based on the fabric, fit etc, so there is no miscommunication. I recently had to get a dress rushed to take on vacay, and although it was a bit complicated to get done, he got done in a week! (white dress picture attached) He does charge an express fee if needed, but totally worth it. Quality is still 10/10. I appreciate his transparency from the beginning! Also attaching a pair of trousers he hemmed as I always receive so many compliments when I wear them! read more

Reliable & good quality! I recommend! I had a very last minute need and he came through. Thank you!

Unfortunately not sure how to give him any stars. My husband had a sport jacket altered. Not only did he over charge . I could have purchased a brand new sports coat for the cost of the minor alterations. But he didn't check the button to make sure it fit me properly and has the audacity to want to charge me another $30 to move it. And asked for a tip on top of it. Here's your tip BYE BYE NEVER AGAIN! read more

I went to Express Tailor this morning for a last-minute zipper repair. I called several alterations places near me, and this place was the only one willing to take a look! I explained how I leave tonight for my birthday trip and desperately needed the skirt to one of my outfits fixed today. Hanif was great! He replaced the difficult zipper AND added clips on the inside of the skirt to make sure I will be able to close the skirt. I will be coming back here! I appreciate this business sooooo much! Called this morning and asked if they could adjust my baggy slacks same day since I need them for work tomorrow. It was done in a few hours. Received a called when it was ready. This review is long overdue. I like reviewing places that display exemplary service and Express Tailor is one of them. Hanif is a master tailor and is very honest about what work can be done and what cannot. His prices are fair and his work is outstanding! A moth had it's way with one of my sweaters and he was able to fix it like it never happened. Additionally, he is communicative - received messages when the work was done. On top of that, he is wonderful to talk with about life. I absolutely recommend Express Tailor - Five Stars all around. read more

It's a very busy shop but good work especially on occasion dresses. Original hem jeans just like Nordstrom.

Uniform shorts alterations were prompt. I even got a text telling me when they were ready! Nice work also, hemmed the shorts exactly as I had requested. Would recommend for alterations. It's hard to find a good tailor that pays attention detail, especially for "small" jobs. Will try them again next time I need alterations done. read more

First and last time using this place's services. I have no idea how they're rated so highly. I brought in a pair of jeans and a pair of sweats. The jeans needed the pockets repaired and the sweats needed a new drawstring. They ran stitches across the pockets and threaded the cheapest piece of cotton cord they could find through the waste, and it doesn't even pull through smoothly. Any competent professional would have used a flat synthetic cord, not a round grippy cotton cord. And the price?--$50...for a job that took around $1.50 in materials and less than 10 minutes of "labor". On top of that, they didn't even bother to repair the holes where the drawstring enters and exits (photo attached). But the best part is that it took them THREE weeks to complete the repairs. Shoddy work and exorbitant pricing are not great business models. read more
