Inconsistent pricing. Brought two pairs of jeans in- both needed 1/2 inch taken off the bottom. First pair I dropped off 2/9 and was charged $32 for original hem. Second pair I just picked up 3/5 and was charged $48 for original hem 1/2 inch. I said I was charged $32 my first time and immediately the man jumped down my throat that they never charge $32. Well, overall both prices are steep given... also here is proof you charged me $32 and then $48 However they did fit me in, and finished the work timely. Thank you so much to Joseph for his masterful handiwork. He is an old world guy who runs his business out of a small, house-style atelier and I really appreciated the personal feel. I dealt with him personally for every consultation and fitting. He will be honest with you about how you should wear the dress and the alterations to make. The price was a little less than I had been quoted at other places like Flares, it ended up being around $700 for the hemming on a double-layer train, cups, strap adjustments, bustling, and steaming, which I think is a great value for the work. I have been going to Joseph for alterations and cleaning for more than 10 years. He has taken clothes in, hemmed loads of items, reworked an expensive skirt that now fits, replaced leather inserts in a dress and altered several long dresses that didn't quite stay in place. He is kind, patient, tells the truth when he can't fix the item (I returned a few items) and is very creative when trying to make something fit. Ex: He took the shoulders up on a vest that I loved, but had huge armholes. Wonderful job on two dresses I had brought in for my sister's wedding. Both of my potential dresses needed to be hemmed in length and one of them needed minor strap re-adjustments. I had brought them in at two separate times which was not a problem for them. The second dress I had added on a steam which totaled to about $80 - it was more pricey b/c of the press n' steam add-on. Joseph is very professional and he and his team gets the job done well. There are two changing areas and one platform where you'll stand in front of the mirror in. I really liked seeing what the process was for altering hem lengths - he had this tool that would pump what I believe were chalk markings onto the garment and had you turn every direction until you had spun around back to where the markings began. Be sure to bring your own hanger and garment bag. I never had my own garment bag and was able to request one when I went to pick my dress back up (plastic). Joseph allows you to select your pick-up date and determines whether or not he'll be able to have it ready by then. I've never had a problem with the date / times provided and he's always so accommodating. I would recommend Creative Alterations to anyone in need of a tailor! read more

I was referred to Creative Alterations by a handful of people for wedding gown alterations. Originally the main appeal was how close they were to my home but soon after coming in for my first appointment I understood all the hype. I was a desperate bride lol. By gown was VERY late to arrive from the designer. By the time I got my gown I only had about 1 month for alterations and my dress had a lot of lace detailing and lots of layers to work with. Luckily it didn't need much as it fit pretty well but still needed a few nips and tucks. I called Joseph in a panic stating I didn't have my dress yet, I don't know for sure when I will have it and that I wasn't too confident on the ETA as it was already more than a month past the guaranteed arrival date.
