They are very careful about reading the wash care labels and will treat your clothes accordingly. I greatly appreciated how they wrapped the vintage buttons on one of my jackets with some foil to prevent any kind of damage during the cleaning. This attention to detail is something I sincerely appreciate. Their prices are reasonable too compared to other cleaners I've tried in the city. I came in and requested help with 2 sweaters from the seamstress. I paid for half in cash and was provided a date they'd be completed. I came in about 2 weeks past the date they were expected to be completed and was told they weren't even started. I was told to come back in a few days. Frustrating, but I understand things happen. I came back and was told again that they weren't completed and other orders were prioritized ahead of mine for rush delivery/repeat customers. I was told they'd be ready tomorrow morning. Now I feel like my kindness is being taken advantage of. Update to add: I was able to pick up on 4/25, finally. That's 4 weeks after I originally brought it in, and over 2 weeks past the date I was told they'd be ready. read more

The pricing and quality of my dry cleaning was great but the seamstress was a bit peculiar. She insisted I try the dress on and then asked me how much I was willing to pay to have my dress hemmed because the stitching was difficult. She chalked up my dress and said she didn't want me to leave since she already did that work. I just asked that she give me her price since I needed a quick turn around. The dress was not pressed afterwards either and had to go somewhere else to do that. I'd recommend Oak Park for dry cleaning but not necessarily for alterations. Responding to your comment: Yes I usually check my clothes thoroughly but last time I was there the worker rushed me to pay because other customers were behind me. I told her to let them go first but she said she needs to do mine first since it was already typed on the register. I guess she didnt want to pull it up again? So I just finishing paying and left because I did not want others to wait. And you mentioned that you never said anything about not being able to remove old stains, you just said some garments its better not to if its not that visible. Anyways I understand that some stains you cant remove. Its just that I dont know why I have to pay for shirts with stains left. Also this is not the first time. Everytime I come here I have to come back one or two more times because they missed a spot. Even today, when I went to pick up my final item from here, my dress still had dirt on the bottom. I actually didn't use the service but had a very pleasant experience. I brought in a thick winter Northface jacket that was fluffy on the outside. It was an expensive jacket so I wanted to be safe and wash it at the shop, terrified of messing up the fluffy exterior if I wash it myself. The lady was extremely kind and read the washing instructions line by line with me, and at the end recommended me to wash it myself to save money. She even suggested me to zip all the zippers and put it in a mesh bag to safely wash it. Even though I didn't use their service this time, it is so refreshing to see honest and kind people like her. What an awesome local dry cleaner. I stopped by right before my interview the same day and just needed my blazer steamed. (Ellen I think her name was) was really nice and offered to do it same day for me. I think it came to around $20 which for the same day wasn't bad. I knew that Robin and the Oak Park staff would take the best care of us. Prices are somewhat high relative to other places I've been for dry cleaning, but I guess there's nothing you can do during times of inflation. Welp. I gave them another shot because of the owner's response - and because I really like the lady that does the alterations - they are always perfect. But they just can't get the cleaning part right. After stressing over and over "no starch" - and pointing it out in my previous review - I just put on a shirt that feels like it's made of plastic...they not only starched it, but heavily so. I have a newborn and I don't want her exposed to the starch when I hold her, so now I'm going to have to wash this shirt several times. And find a new cleaners. Just too many screw ups. read more

Pricing seems reasonable for the items that we needed cleaned and we were happy with the turn around time (4 days for our 9 or 10 items). Pick up was easy and again, great customer service. I took my daughter to this cleaners because I had such a great experience before. I took my dress there to be altered. I would think there was new ownership or management this last time. My daughter brought her prom dress to be altered. There was so much back & fourth from the seamstress. She kept canceling & rescheduling appointments with my daughter. Not only that she was extremely rude. So i called the store and asked the manager to call me (which she never did). Once my daughter got to the shop the seamstress immediately began questioning her on who called for the manager & why not knowing I was on a facetime call & could hear everything. Once my daughter expressed her frustration the seamstress and i quote "Remember this you need me, I don't need you." She was super rude & aggressive with my daughter so I immediately intervened. Long story short we got into a yelling match over FaceTime so i paid for my daughters unfinished dress and she left. The service was outstanding, every woman that I talked to was friendly, polite and professional. This cleaners is close to my work, so I decided to give it a try for a dress that I wanted dry cleaned before wearing to our friends' wedding. Both times I popped in I was able to grab a parking spot right out front (10 minute parking) no problem. Both visits, dropping off and picking up, were quick and my dress was ready to go when they said it would be. I don't have a "regular" dry cleaner, nor do I have a lot that I need to have dry cleaned, but I will definitely be back when the occasion arises.
