This review is long overdue. I held off on writing this because I was still going there and didn't want them messing with my things if they stumbled up on this. The quality and service and customer service all went downhill with the new management. One event that I remember was I called them on a Saturday to complain about white stains on my items that I just picked up. It only shows up on the black clothing of course. The lady who answered the phone was rude and put me on hold. I waited on the phone at first for 10 min then it last up to close to an hour!! I hung up, and called back again an hour later. This lady kept the phone off the hook. lol I called all day until before closing and phone was still off the hook. I told myself I wouldn't go back. However, I did go back. Yet again, when I picked up my items, white mark or whatever it is on my black clothes. I told the lady who was there one day and she took it and idk what she tried to do but it was there or she prayed and wiped with water which is what I do myself. Why are there white marks on my clothing after getting dry cleaned?? This never happened before with the previous owners. Next incident was when I came in the afternoon to bring in a paper of pants to get hemmed. Mind you, I come from Vallejo just to come all the way here cause it's the only place I know. I get there and the lady at the front attempts to take the measurements and she had no idea what she was doing. From the way she was folding the pants, to it being an uneven fold. It was a frustrating experience. I told her I'll come back a different day. She said she was just helping out because the person that normally does it, wasn't in. Ummm, maybe have someone there all the time who does this? People go out of their way to come here or put a sign when hemming person will be in! That was the last straw and never again. This place lost my dress on the day of my birthday. The owners were out of town and they had someone else in charge. The owners never called to apologize or anything. I was tempted on filing a suit against this place due to the emotional stress I went through on my birthday due to them. DO NOT GO THIS PLACE. Avoid this place at all costs. I dropped off nine couch cushions for deep cleaning and dry cleaning. I was quoted $12 for each smaller cushion and $20 for the larger ones. This should have been a straightforward job. When I went to pick them up, the cushions still had visible stains, the fabric was pilling--some even worse than before--and they smelled awful, like they had been left wet in a washing machine for days. The odor was similar to a musty, wet mop. To make matters worse, the owner tried to wrap the cushions in plastic before I could inspect them. Thankfully, I checked before leaving. I refused to pay and took the cushions with me. Despite having my items for a full week and delivering poor results, they still asked for payment and only offered a 50% discount to redo the job. Why would I agree to that after the damage and the smell, not to mention the original job wasn't even done properly? Do not take your items here. read more

My husband comes here to get his suits dry cleaned and pressed, so we were familiar with some of their services. I needed to have my wedding dress cleaned and preserved, so when we found out they did the service, it was an easy decision to come here. For context, my dress had a short train, lace, floral appliqués. My wedding was outdoor so there was probably some dirt in the train. I left my dress with them and a couple weeks later, I call to check on it. They said it was ready but I didn't get any notification. When I went to pick it up, they showed me the dress in the box with the window and it looked fine from first glance. They wrapped it up for me. When I got home, I took out the box to look at the dress again and noticed a black wire in the lace of my dress. I slipped my hand inside the box and plucked out the wire. That was the only thing I noticed, but I didn't take the entire dress out to see if it had been cleaned well, so I'm kind of nervous that it isn't. I've used these folks a few times. I like them because they're relatively quick, faster than the other places in the area. Honestly, cleaning should not take more than 2 days. Some of the other places around are 5, which I do not understand. Sadly, I won't be going back. They're convenient for people living downtown, and they do a good job, but I've always felt they tend to overcharge. Today I picked up 5 shirts, 4 of which were meant to be laundered only, which I expressly noted when I dropped them off. Instead they dry-cleaned 4 of the 5, including an 20 yr old cotton corduroy shirt and 3 other cotton shirts that only needed laundering. Dry cleaning is a lot more expensive, so I was overcharged almost $16! I was late for a meeting and did not have time to argue with the man behind the counter who wanted to argue, but I'll just have to take my business elsewhere. read more

We WERE very loyal customers to the prior owners, using this dry cleaners for over ten years without a hitch. BUT, NO LONGER. New owners took over and we stayed; however, it has not been the same since. We've had things altered, then not ready on time. They get busy, we understood. But today I walk in and wait my turn. They lost the customer's clothing in front of me all together. He was told to come back later. Uh oh...not sounding good. My two tops were supposed to be done yesterday. I went in to pick them up one day later and she informs me they are not ready (checked her computer screen) but she'll look anyway. I am keeping fingers crossed as I need them tomorrow for a trip. She brings me someone else's top with my top. I said that piece is NOT mine and MY top is obviously still dirty. And where is my other top? Again another hunt. She finally finds it and it too is not clean. Infuriating. To top it off she says they were on the "ready to be pressed bar". Great. So I took them back dirty. This is the most convenient dry cleaner /laundry near me. I've used them for years bc they claim to be eco-friendly & they always did good cleaning & tailoring work. Recent reviews confirm my suspicions that there are new owners. I'll be shopping around for better service & prices. I brought in a freshly laundered duvet cover for ironing only. Sadly, my property was not treated with care or respect. In order to inspect it for pricing the attendant allowed it to repeatedly swipe the floor & when I mentioned it they made no offer to correct their mistake & launder it, so I reluctantly accepted the additional $9 laundering fee (on top of the $39! ironing fee). I should have just left the store. My mistake. Well, weeks later, I remove it from the bag & it reeks of whatever scented laundry soap they use. I have been to Walnut Creek Cleaners a handful of times for alterations, as well as dry cleaning services, and I have to say I always leave satisfied. Mimi is so sweet and I always feel reassured that my clothes are in great hands! So, when it came to altering my wedding dress, I knew I had to go to Mimi. In an ideal situation, you would want to go get your wedding dress altered at least 8 weeks, but preferably 12 weeks or more before the wedding date. That way you're able to schedule 2-3 dress fittings. However, I was so busy with life that I ended up going to Mimi about a month before my wedding and was so lucky and grateful that she was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule. Despite the limited time, Mimi was able to alter my dress with one dress fitting. A week before my wedding, my dress was ready for pick up and honestly, I didn't even get to try it on until my wedding day. I was a little worried that the dress wouldn't fit, but my dress came out beautifully and hugged me in all the right places! I went to pick up hemmed jeans two days after the pickup date on the ticket, and they couldn't find them in their alterations organization system. I waited there 15 minutes for them to locate the lost jeans, which were at a seamstress's house. I had to return another day to pick them up, and they did not honor my request for a discount for the inconvenience. I will not return to this business because of the risk of wasted time and lost clothing. I couldn't find an alterations/seamstress for the LIFE of me for my wedding dress. I called all over and started to panic BIG TIME because unfortunately I waited till the last minute to get my dress fitted. Yes, my fault... I thought 2 weeks was enough time to get it done, but apparently October is the busiest time of year for this necessity. I was referred to Walnut Creek Cleaners by someone who couldn't help me and I'm so thankful for that referral! The owner (Mimi?) helped me with my dress! She did an amazing job and my dress fit perfectly! She took in the areas underneath my arms, added padded cups, and hemmed it. I have scoliosis and had breast cancer so anything I buy tends to fit me oddly. This dress was handmade in the Ukraine and so beautiful but delicate and she took really great care of it! Update 10/24/22: I brought my jacket back to Supna and Mimi after work to show them what happened. Both were concerned and attentive, which is great as I was half-expecting a blasé attitude. I explained the issue, showed them the seam rips, and the now, improper fit. Both looked over the jacket intently, trying to understand why it would have shrunk, but both agreed that the fit was no longer right. One thing that did irk me was that Mimi still claims it is faux-suede and that if it was real, it wouldn't have shrunk. A quick Google search on drycleaning leather/suede is that if it's drycleaned, it WILL shrink. Either case, I plan to take it to my leather people for confirmation once I get the jacket back. After a few minutes of review, Mimi asked if they can keep it for about a week and try to stretch it out as well as fix the seams. She finished by saying if it still doesn't work out, we can discuss it further from there. I will provide a final update once I receive my jacket back. Original Review: My girlfriend and I have been bringing our drycleaning to Walnut Creek Cleaners for a few years, but that's all changing today. Prices are outrageous ($11 to fix an inch-long seam rip!?), but usually they do a good job with the cleaning. Last week I took a beautiful brown bomber jacket to them to get cleaned. There is no identifying tag to say what kind of material it is made out of. When I dropped it off, Supna said she'd check with Mimi on the material as she was unclear herself. I called the next day and Mimi said it is faux suede and they can clean it for $19. I didn't have any other option so I said go for it (It was part of a larger order of clothes to be cleaned). A few days after receiving the nicely cleaned jacket, I try it on only to have the inner linings of the sleeves rip! The jacket is too small now! I was confused why it didn't fit me anymore as it was a perfect fit before I took it to the cleaners, but then it hit me. The only way for faux suede to shrink in the dry cleaners IS IF IT IS REAL SUEDE. These so-called "experts" told me my suede jacket is fake, dry cleaned it, and shrunk it!! I haven't even worn it yet and now it doesn't fit me AND the inner lining is ripped! I called this morning and the older gentleman seemed flustered by my claim. He hurriedly told me to call back and talk to Supna since I originally dropped it off with her. I'll provide an update once that happens and I'll also be stopping by after work and taking the garment with me. At the very least they need to reimburse me for the dry cleaning, though they truly owe me a new jacket. read more

I had been going here for years when it was owned by Mimi and John. They retired. I have continued to go back, but I stopped when I noticed the quality was lacking. The place is disorganized. It takes a lot longer to pick up and drop off your stuff. The last time I was there I decided it was my last: 1. They charged me 3x more than what the cost should have been. I paid $462. I went back another 3x to try to get a refund for the overcharge, and no one knew how to refund me. 2. When I was waiting, another customer was upset and waiting because they could not find the rest of her order. 3. Also, when I was waiting, a customer who brought alterations the week prior and was picking up was told that the items did not make it to the seamstress. This customer was also upset because the alterations were for a wedding that weekend and it was now nearly impossible to get the dress altered in time. The new management says that they have a "new system," and that is why there are a significant amount of problems. I disagree. Avoid being disappointed, and skip this place! read more

New ownership is not good, not reliable, and not responsive. They claim to offer pick up and delivery...yet it's impossible to rely on them. I called on Monday, for pick up on Tuesday, as they request. Tuesday came around, I left my bag outside, no one picked it up. I thought maybe they will pick up on Wednesday. Nope. This is the second time. And the first time, they delivered a week later then promised. Supposedly my credit card needed to be updated and they say they called and left a voicemail. I had never had my leather motorcycle jacket cleaned in the 3 or 4 years I'd owned it, and it was kind of hard to find a cleaner that could do leather and had decent ratings. My jacket came out great, looking almost new, and for a reasonable price. They have an automated system that texts you when the job is finished, including a description of the piece, which came in handy when I inevitably lost the paper ticket. If you are a current or prospective customer who cares at all about the items you are getting cleaned, altered, or repaired, then go somewhere else. Note that ownership has changed, this place was wonderful under the previous owners, but the new ownership & staff DOES NOT handle items with any care or care at all about their customers. Read the recent reviews from the last few months & you'll see exactly that! The new owners & staff are happy to take your money while destroying your items in the process & then will place the blame on you to take zero responsibility. I dropped of 3 items, including a fairly pricey pair of FRAME jeans on 10/31. When I showed up to pick up my items, one of the items was not done, so they asked me to return the next day for it. I took my other items that were ready (one of which was the jeans) home, where I went to unbag them & hang them. Now, the jeans were dropped off with a light stain from food on the left front side. I informed them when dropping them off to be cleaned & they marked the area to flag it for the person cleaning it. When hanging them, in that exact area, there was now a hole in the material & the entire area was now much lighter than the rest of the material. I went back the next day to pick up the last items & brought the jeans back to show them. The individual at the front looked at the jeans & said I would need to leave them for the owner to look at & said she would call me. I asked when the owner would be in & what the timeline for a resolution would be & she could not give me that info. Apparently the owner is not in very often according to staff. I told her I wasn't comfortable leaving them without knowing those details so she took pictures of the item & said she would speak to the owner who would call me & then I could bring them back a time she would be in. I also let the staff know I was going out of town & that it would be a week or so until I could come back in. Well, that didn't matter because the owner never bothered to call. After getting back in town, I went back in on 11/17 to speak to someone & see if the owner was there. The woman at the front said she didn't know why she hadn't called & again asked for me to leave them & gave me her word she would make sure she saw them & called me, so I left the items. They asked me to give them until 11/27 for a resolution & entered them in their system as a "redo/no charge". The 27th rolled around & again, no call from anyone. I went in to pick them up on 12/2 & the original individual who helped me was there, as well as someone new. She gave the same rehearsed info as the other staff member & said the owner wasn't there. The other staff member who originally helped me said the owner had seen them but that she wasn't sure what the owner had decided to do & didn't know why no one had called me yet. At this point, I'd been dealing with these people for a month, with zero follow through or resolution. I questioned why this was taking so long & why they kept having me come back to pickup if the owner hadn't addressed it yet, & it was at this point that the staff member decided to start placing the blame on me for the item. She said that she needed to speak to their "denim specialist" who cleans the items as "these holes don't just happen on their own". She then asked me to leave them & come back AGAIN. Extremely frustrated & upset at this point, I questioned what the point of that would be given they had promised a resolution so many times before without following through & she promised me that she would make sure it was addressed this time. She asked me to come back on 12/6 but assured me that this time, the owner would call me before then. The owner didn't call me, the staff member did. She left me a voicemail on 12/4 to tell me she spoke to their denim specialist & he said there was no way this could happen during cleaning & told me I could come pickup my items. Now, OF COURSE, the person who cleaned the item is going to take zero responsibility for damaging it. It just took them over a month to come to the resolution that they were all going to lie about damaging the item. I immediately went in to get my item back & the same staff member was there, along with the "denim specialist". Now this part was comical, he said he had worked there for over 4 years & this wasn't from him because "if it is dropped off with a hole, he wouldn't touch it". So if they "didn't touch it", then why was I charged to come in to pickup a "redo" item? Long story short, they damaged my item, said they would come to a resolution & that "resolution" was to blame it on me, claim they never cleaned it in the first place, all while wasting my time in the process. However, if I can discourage one person from taking their items here, this review & my experience with this awful & completely careless business was worth it. This place was very good under Mimi's ownership. A new owner took over about a month after I started bringing my laundry here. I've seen them take responsibility for their errors but this last time was different. I brought in 4 bags of laundry and got 3 back. All but one of my pants were missing. I called and told her they still have at least 2 or more pairs of pants. She blamed me and took no responsibility. My pants are now stolen plus the payment I made to get them washed on top of that. I have been going here periodically for several years without any issues... up until earlier this year. They lost my pants not once, but twice. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt since I eventually got my pants back. The second time was a long and drawn out process which eventually led to them offering me credit... After playing phone tag with management they eventually agreed to compensate me for the value of my pants, only after deducting for services rendered. Don't be like me. I should have read the recent reviews before I went. Ownership has changed. They damaged my wool skirt both front and back, putting holes in the skirt material so I can't wear it anymore. I don't know how they managed to scrape off the fabric of the skirt both front and back, but I will have to buy a new skirt and will not take anything else there ever. read more

My review is for customer experience. I went in looking to get a dress shortened while keeping the original hem. I was told they aren't able to keep the original hem and that every tailor is the same -- which is not true because the tailor I go to in LA is able to keep the original hem. Moving on, I accepted that they wouldn't be able to keep the original hem and we started the process of measuring out how much to shorten my dress by. I kept being told to turn around in circles while also being told I was moving too much (like what?). I should have read the 1 star reviews on this business before bringing my clothes to this cleaner. They have a sister branch in San Ramon called Imperial Cleaners. Both are equally bad in terms of service and lack of accountability. They lost 2 of my suits and did not bother telling me about it. I have wasted so many phone calls and trips to the store, to follow up on my missing suits. Each time, they give me the run around, and delay resolution. To this day, I do not have any resolution for the suits that they lost. On top of that, they waste my time, giving me one excuse after another and cannot produce the suits or a remedy to the problem. The branch in San Ramon blames the Walnut Creek branch. The excuses are endless. I would like to see some accountability and some resolution to all of these customer complaints. read more

They brought my 2 wedding dresses back to life. I had an outdoor ceremony on a hiking trail with lots of dirt and a photo shoot in grass. I had makeup stains, lipstick, dirt and grass stains on 2 white dresses. I dropped them off right after the photos and they said they would do their best to remove the stains but couldn't promise. This was the best dry cleaners in the area. But, the owners recently sold of which very few new. The new owners are off to a bad start. They had broken a button on my button down shirt. This was a first for me at this location. I took the shirt back. Since I had worn it once, it needed a cleaning and I showed them the button. I went to pick up the shirt today. It had been cleaned but the button not repaired. It was obvious and had an alternation tag on it. Also, people at the front desk are somewhat confused at this point. I have noticed that on both visits. I will not be returning. I would suggest seeking out a new cleaners. A real bummer. I miss the previous owners but I guess they retired. Good for them. read more
