Overall: Dependable, comfortable, and professional. Been going here for a couple of years now and I haven't had a bad experience. Services: Thorough cleanings so far. I also get extra cleanings because my gums were inflamed from not flossing well in the back and around my permanent retainer in the front. In my experiences, both hygienists and dentists are professional and personable (or comforting if you're in pain). Space: Place looks well used and could do with a refresh or renovation in some rooms. Patient chairs could be replaced. Otherwise, clean. Location: Plenty of parking and in a prime location. Cost: Transparent with costs - gives opportunity to ask questions. Average cost with insurance. My insurance covers regular cleanings and has reasonable co-pay for the extra cleanings before reaching deductible. read more

This dental office is a scam. They press down hardlet than any other dentist I have gone to. For example on my gum test the said have 7+ mm all they around. When I went to another dental office the same test came out half of what these guys said. They said I needed crowns and root canal. none of the other 3 dental office even said anything about needing a crown. So bottom line if you want to be scammed Andover charged This the office for you. I was charged for a root canal which was covered by insurance with zero copay for me. There was an excessive amount of X-rays and photos taken of the tooth. They charged a procedure for isolating of the tooth with a rubber dam which is not necessary. They even charged as oral hygiene instructions just to tell me the endodontist would perform the root canal. After the root canal and before submitting their claim to insurance Arvada Smiles had me setup payments even though my insurance covers root canals at zero copay. I have been struggling to get reimbursement for the payments I've made. The office staff person is uncooperative when insurance calls. They won't answer the phone when they see the insurance phone number. I do recommend Arvada Smiles dental office. read more

I needed to find a dentist that was closer to me. This one fit the bill in that regard. Didn't go in with any great expectations, other than having a dental office that was close. The dental x-rays that I had just gotten about 6 months ago didn't come over from my previous office, which didn't surprise me all that much. What did surprise me was this office letting me know that they rather take their own x-rays and other pics themselves anyway, and that it was included in the cleaning. About 5 years ago I had the back of a molar break off. At the time, I didn't have the money to get a crown for this tooth, so my current dentist said he could do a filling on the tooth, and that it should be fine for quite a while, but at some point it would probably need a crown. No one really checked on this tooth, I guess, and this last x-ray of the tooth clearly showed a shadow, indicating that the cavity from the broken tooth had spread, and was getting very near the root. I set up the appointment to get the crown, and possibly a root canal if the cavity had infiltrated the root. I also set up an appointment to talk to the new periodontist that would start working at the office that day (two weeks after the cleaning appt). Thankfully, the tooth only needed a crown. Met with the periodontist in the waiting room, spoke with her briefly while she waited for her assistants to come back from lunch. She quickly looked at the area that was in dire need of a gum graft (I have paper thin gums that have gone through quite a bit in my lifetime), and told me she could do the surgery right then and there, and even give me a deal if I were willing to do so. The surgery was painful (needles in the roof of your mouth, not pleasant at all) but actually went rather quickly. The periodontist told me this was her favorite procedure, so I was pretty sure of her expertise. It was a long day of unpleasant mouth pain, but I got a lot done in one day, and for far less than it would've been anywhere else. It was a lucky day all in all. If I do find that there are any bumps in the financial road in the near future with Arvada Smiles, I'll definitely be back to comment on them, but so far, I've actually had an EXCELLENT experience with all aspects of this dental office! read more

Anissa the hygienist said I had deep gum pockets & puss at the gums by my implant. She said she wouldn't do my cleaning or give me antibiotics. Instead I'd need to have 2 separate appointments for full scale & root cleanings, PLUS a visit to the specialist (someone in the office but of course insurance doesn't cover that). The dentist comes in and tells me he wants to replace an old crown- never looked in my mouth even though I was very concerned about infection with the puss. Went for a 2nd opinion - there's no infection & my gum pockets are not bad - also said they could do a deep clean on specific teeth if they WERE bad, no need to do the full set of teeth. This place is a scam with high turnover. read more

Similar to what others have said, I felt like I got scammed out of my money for no reason. I had a chipped tooth that was not causing any problems, but the dentist said I should have it fixed anyway. I found out after I was charged like $800 because they took too many X-rays. I also found out after that I was charged $500 for fixing the chip tooth because it was "Cosmetic". I didn't feel like I had a choice in getting this tooth fixed, but my insurance wouldn't cover it. I would not recommend coming here, they will find ways to over charge you. read more

Always read reviews. Always take them to heart. Learned the hard way. It was like an episode of the Twilight Zone or a Bizarro universe that echoed other reviews. Awful customer service. Offered an expensive deep clean via a nice hard copy printed document detailing everything from mouth wash charges to other add-ons for which my dental insurance didn't pay. Turning the deep clean down caused the customer service jets to go off.  Thought the wrong box was marked when filling out the form for the appointment as they wouldn't clean my teeth, saying it would not matter. They removed the bib and protective goggles from me and ushered me out the door, not answering my shocked quizzical questions as to what had just transpired. Such a bizarre experience. Very put off. And a waste of my time.  I called them upon leaving asking what the heck just happened.  Yikes. Just yikes. read more

I used to love this office. However, after going here for years, was told I needed a "deep cleaning" and had 2 cavities. Disappointed, I went to another dentist and he had no problem with cleaning my teeth, and said I have no cavities. After he personally cleaned and polished my teeth, I asked whether or not I need the deep cleaning previously prescribed. He said, "no, but I'd be happy to charge you the $900 if you like and do it!" Needless to say, hard to have faith in a practice after that. I do, however, have serious gum disease, which was never discussed during any of my appointments, and now have to go to a specialist for gum grafting. I had a bad experience here. I went in for pain, they took x-rays and determined a crown would likely fix it. Over the next couple days, the pain got worse. I went back and Dr. Brent did a partial root canal and said I would have to come back for the endo to do a full root canal. During the full root canal done by a 3rd party contractor, the assistant was odd and rude. When I asked to have pooling spit sucked out she said to grab the thing to my left, press the button and suck. Later during the surgery, I asked again and she said to swallow because it's not anything other than my normal spit. The taste of medicine and root canal debris said otherwise. The icing on the cake was during the first visit when I asked to smooth a rough spot on a very visible front tooth. The dentist removed an unrelated part of the tooth leaving a cosmetic gap to go along with the rough tooth. When I mentioned this on my 2nd visit, he said he can't see where my tongue is pointing to. An apology and offer to fix would have been appreciated. Although it may not be possible to fix as he thought bonding would just fall off. read more

This place used to be awesome with the original Dentist who since he's moved away Had a root canal because they told me they knew how to do it a couple days later I ended up having to go to a specialist because they didn't do it correctly They also charge me to use an electric tools to do a deep cleaning that was very overpriced compared to other Dentists and some Dentists actually use this tool in part of their cleaning practice and don't charge extra The original Dentist that was There since moved and the people that took over seem to be less competent and more money hungry driven The original staff that worked the front desk are no longer there which also tells me something about the new Dentist that took over. this place i went once just for 6 month cleaning. they tried rolling it into a $1975 bill.which i refused then lowered it to $900 some dollars my share $183 for some specialized procedure. Other was for Some laser tretment that i found others just charge $71 for. also tried to get to come in fr a $50 treatment every 3 months. I have 3 insurances that cover dental. one just dental medicare and a supplement insurance. they sent 2 bills of different amounts to supplement insurance none to regular dental insurance or medicare.all of which they said they take..that was last year now i keep getting a bill for $385 although i contacted about it but no reply why.rip off place greedy too.plus bad billing to insurance read more

Simply OUTSTANDING. After almost 7 years of misdiagnosis and thousands spent on chasing tooth pain, Dr Burana was able to take care of all the issues with 2 crowns and a bridge all in just over a week. I have been to several dentists and specialists to take care of some tooth pain and have sat many hours in the chair. Ive had "the best" evaluate and recommend crowns, root canals, implants............... on and on. I really gave up mid last year. Upon being notified I was being laid off from my work, I wanted to have another dentist evaluate before loosing my insurance. I met with Dr Burana on a Tuesday, he correctly identified 2 problem areas and recommended 2 crowns. Typically, crowns take 2 appointments and several days to manufacture. Not here, they do it all in house and one of the few Denver offices offering full service crowns. I had 2 new crowns in the same 3 hr appointment AND the tooth pain is gone. I was so happy with the results that I ordered a bridge and paid out of pocket as the expiring insurance would not cover. So why am I writing all this. It simple. Dentistry like all health care is complicated and expensive. I have been to "the best" and the best was fluff, misdiagnosis and lots of time, energy and cost. I don't need expresso makers, muffins and a lotion stand, these are for offices that are distracted from their mission. I needed a dentist without an ego and willing to listen carefully to what I felt was going on with my teeth. Dr Burana and his staff correctly diagnosed my multi symptom issues, navigated my terminating insurance and built/modified/adjusted my crowns and bridge to perfection and all at a much lower cost than any office I have visited in the last 10 years. Ashley Dickinson literally swore up and down that if she checked to see if I would qualify for care credit that it would not do a credit pull. The reason I was wanting to know was because if the quote down below of an absurd about of money. I have a 757 credit score so I already knew I would qualify, but she kept saying it wouldn't do anything or pull so I said ok. Next I find a Care credit CREDIT CARD in my mail box!!! She not only pulled my credit which lowered my credit score, but she also signed me up for the care credit account with no joke a card with my name on it sent to my house, all against my consent. I am pissed. I went in and of course she was conveniently on lunch. The front desk guy claimed she would call me after I explained what happened-she never did. Even if it was a mistake, that is so unprofessional. On to the actual dentistry now. I spoke with their contracted periodontist who quoted me over $10,000 in gum graft work he claimed I needed. This is also ridiculous and I'll update with the final amount I pay for this with another dentist I'm meeting with. Beware of this place. Maybe the dentists do good work. I've only been to Arvada Smiles Dentistry once for an exam and cleaning which was handled professionally and staff were friendly. Communications were clear and I'm hopeful this relationship can continue as it has begun. As with any business relationship there is both risk and responsibility on both sides of the table; making communication a priority and taking time to carefully consider options before making a decision helps. Most unorganized, incompetent staff that don't know how to bill your insurance company and will leave you with bills for things you shouldn't owe. In October 2021 I scheduled just a routine cleaning. When I showed up they said my appointment had been canceled, but they offered to still do the cleaning even though no dentist could see me. They then told me how much it would cost and had added all these extra things I didn't need, but I stopped them and said I just wanted a routine cleaning and they assured me it would 100% be covered by my insurance. In November I received a bill and called them to ask why, Sonia who works at the front desk apologized and said she would fix it, said not to worry about it. In December I receive a statement with the money I owe. I call again and reach Sonia, who says insurance must have rejected it and said she'd call them back within the next day (which didn't make sense because my insurance covered it last time). Over the next several weeks I called back over 5 times, Sonia kept saying she was busy but going to take care of it. Finally I called my insurance company and confirmed nothing was ever sent to them. They reached out to Sonia and she literally told them she didn't know how to do it (even though every time I spoke with her she said she was taking care of it)...I was literally left speechless. I've spent so much time and energy trying to get this sorted out all for a routine cleaning because my husband and I are in the process of buying a house and can't have anything like this on our credit scores. The old (amazing) dentist sold the practice. It's really just not the same. I recently went in for my Perio Maintenance and I noticed that my bill was exponentially higher than the time before. I paid it, but asked for an itemized receipt to be sent to me. I compared what they charged me for VS what my insurance paid and they charged for items that were not covered by my insurance (knowingly) and were not necessary. I know these things were not necessary because I compared it with my old bills (the exact same procedure) and those items were not charged. Also, I miss the old hygenist. She got my teeth SOOOO clean. I didn't leave feeling like my teeth were very clean with the new hygienist. I'm kind of sad because I don't remember the old hygenist's name, otherwise I'd go find her. This is the friendliest most accommodating dental office you will find. Everyone here is so welcoming. No one REALLY likes going to the dentist but they REALLY succeed in making this as pleasant of an experience as possible. Very transparent with costs, quick when it comes to scheduling, and expeditious from the moment you walk through the door. All three hygienists I have encountered really seemed to know what they were doing while providing friendly service. Dr Gawlas is a very personable, down to earth guy as well - the kind of dentist you'd ask to go play a round of golf with after work or whatever. I had my first visit with Arvada Smiles yesterday morning, and I just can't say enough about the service. First off, their new patient exam, full x-rays and cleaning was only $59.00, so extremely affordable. And not only was the staff professional in every detail, they were also very warm and welcoming. There had been several times in the past where I had left the dentist with white knuckles because the hygienist was less than gentle, but this one was so gentle, I could've taken a nap! Because it had been several years since I'd had work done, I expected a huge estimate on future visits, but when they gave me the total, it was at least $2000.00 less that the quote I received from another dentist several years ago. I will definitely continue to see Dr. Gawlas for all my future dental needs. On a side note, I also appreciate the fact that they collect food and goods for local animal shelters, offering discounts to those who bring in a donation. read more

Had a new Appointment today. the Doc was friendly and personal. The Exam and X-rays went well All new Digital was nice. But No Cleaning! nothing! I was all prepared to leave a much more scathing review, but the team really went above and beyond to make things right! They were extremely responsive to the email survey I completed, addressed every issue, and more than made up for the initial components of my visit that were lacking. First off try calling when they are closed and tell me if that is a professional answering service. Second, the way they do x-rays is old school and painful. Front desk people were nice and friendly. The young guy that did the x-rays and cleaning was not very good. You can tell he has little experience. While cleaning/polishing my teeth, stuff (water, tooth paste etc) was flying out of my mouth on to my face. Now I know why they gave me safety glasses to wear lol. Hi all... I have been a patient at this office now for approximately a year and a half. I am an older (64) person and honestly I didn't take care of my teeth like I should have when young. I ended up with some large fillings which are failing. The folks at this office are truly professional. Let me start out by saying I am a grown man who hates going to the dentist and being poked and prodded. However with that said Arvada smiles was the one exception I've ever had in my entire life where I felt comfortable and at ease while in the dentist chair. All the staff was extremely professional and Dr. Gawlas did an outstanding job communicating what steps need to be taken during the process. I was also really impressed with the technology they had. I have only been to one other dentist as an adult, and I wish I would have gone to Arvada Smiles first. My visit was amazing. From the equipment to the atmosphere and the people, it was all around a good and comfortable experience.
