I recently became a patient at this Comfort Dental. I came here b/c Bright Now Dental (DO NOT GO TO BRIGHT NOW DENTAL) tried to rip me off and tell me I had over $1,000 of dental work! I called my dentist from my hometown and they were shocked. I came to Comfort Dental b/c a co-worker suggested it. They did find any issues with my teeth. They did a routine cleaning and I was in and out within an hour. I'm sure I will return. Good dentists are hard to find. I had my routine cleaning the other day and it went very well! I really like the staff and they are easy to talk to. I will be going back in September for the next round. read more

I have been to this dentistry at least 3 times for regular dental cleaning and each time it's been a total nightmare! The first time, Dr. Tindrell wanted to refill all of my fillings because they were "old." I did not have any problems with any of my fillings over the years! I didn't allow the x-ray to be taken and quickly hopped out of his dentist chair upon finding out that the procedure was going to cost thousands of dollars, despite having Comfort Dental's Gold Plan insurance. Three days later, I received an office bill of an evaluation for nearly $40, which the Gold Plan Insurance didn't cover, despite Dr. Tindrell not cleaning my teeth, which was my reason for the initial appointment. During the second visit, I was forced to wait for an hour for the lady dentist Dr. Ferguson, in her dental chair. X-rays and measurements were taken, but cleaning was not accomplished because they wanted me to spend thousands of dollars more for 2 visits of deep cleaning, including numbing painful injections which again were out-of-pocket and not covered by insurance. A simple cleaning is all I need! I still had to pay a $35 non-deductible fee upon leaving for the office visit, despite having absolutely no cleaning done! The insurance counted that as cleaning on a 6-month service plan, so I couldn't go back for another 6 months unless it was at my own expense. The third visit, this time again with Dr. Tindrell, was insane! He refused to use the scaler device for a simple annual cleaning because he wanted me to sign a disclaimer for not heeding his advice for deep root cleaning. All I received was a couple of manual scrapes on one tooth as he pretended to clean my teeth, reluctantly, because he wanted me to spend thousands of dollars for unnecessary treatment (root scaling). After the pandemic, Comfort Dental has become greedy by price-gouging its loyal patients! read more

I scheduled a visit for a checkup and cleaning. When I arrived, I was handed paperwork to fill out as expected. I Filled it out, with the excepting for the payment fee, because they had yet to verify my insurance. I wait 10 minutes for they lady to even come back to the front desk, and inform her I have filled out everything except for the payment stuff, asking: "Have you found my insurance. I came here to find out what you cover because you wouldn't tell me over the phone". Her nurse comes back 30 seconds later to inform me that I haven't filled out the payment form. Oh well, thought nothing of it. I get my X-rays. Everything looks good, but I need a filling. The DDS then comes in to ask if I can do a filling and a cleaning in a row, thinking they would be immediate, so I say yes. They then kick me out to get a cleaning at a later date! On my return trip (don't make your first), they literally gave me the most painful dental procedure of my life, by cleaning my teeth. A regular clean (not deep), shouldn't be that painful. When asked if I would prefer a regular clean, she showed me the manual tool as if to scare me, and I said yes use that. She made a couple of movements in my mouth for show, but stopped the cleaning well before it was complete. I said stop hurting me, not stop the cleaning! The 2 starts is because I had a fantastic hygienist. She even went out of her way to polish off a stain I had on a temporary. read more

So I told them on the phone I needed a root canal on a specific tooth, showed up 15 minutes early and sat around for 30 minutes before I actually got to speak with the main guy, after that he took an X-ray and said "Yes you need a root canal and we don't do that here" "find a specialist aka an endodontist". He didn't bother trying to give me a referral or any sort of help, I was there for close to an hour with nothing accomplished. If you know you don't have an endodontist that performs root canals and I need a root canal...why would you have me come in to tell me you don't offer that service here? Nice staff but I could tell nobody cared to help me find the provider I needed. read more

We took our daughter here and we were told she had 7 cavities. She has never been a child that's had a lot of cavities, and this was her first visit at comfort dental, so I took her in to her old dentist for another cleaning. I didn't tell the old dentist what had just happened at comfort dental with the seven cavity diagnosis and after her cleaning she came out, and I was told she had no cavities! I was also shown all of her x-rays and I just can't believe that they were going to feel fine charging us thousands of dollars, plus the fact that she would've been pulled out of school multiple times at the young age of 13 just to have these all taken care of. They were nonexistent and I was extremely disappointed and disgusted!!! Do not go here! read more

It makes me a little sad to write the review because I like the staff, but I had such a bad dental experience, that I feel the need to share. I would not recommend going to this dentist. I was told that I needed two crowns and three fillings. I was upset because even with insurance it cost me over $1000 out of pocket. The first issue I had was with the temporary crowns. The temporary crowns did not fit correctly, food impacted in my gums, and when I called for help they told me it was normal to have discomfort. Fast forward to the day my permanent crowns came in - I ended up having 4 hours of work done. Should've been a red flag when they accidentally dropped a temporary crown down my throat and I had to jump out of the chair to cough it up. However, I was already there and numbed up, so I decided to push on. When the temporary crowns were off they discovered that there was an issue with food impaction and that my gum tissue had grown over (which is why I was in pain with the temporary crowns). My gum tissue had to be cut away on both sides (my new dentist said he's never heard of this happening). There was also an issue putting on the crowns - they put too much cement on both teeth. The cement ended up getting stuck to my gums, so they had to use a scaler 4 times to remove the cement. At this point, my head was throbbing and my mouth had been open for 4 hours. I left in so much pain. Fast forward 3 weeks later and my teeth were still hurting when I chewed and cold liquids were causing pain. I called to get my medical records 3 times, but never received them. I went to another dentist because my anxiety was too high to go back into this office. It turns out that one of the crowns had a ledge and had to be completely redone, and one of the fillings had too large of a gap between the tooth and the crown so the filling also had to be redone. When the crown was redone there was an issue with bacteria underneath. I don't need a root canal now, but I may soon need one (especially since the dentist put a pin in super close to my tooth's root). Doctor Marina did acknowledge the incorrect work, and offered me a refund (which I'm thankful for), but my insurance probably won't cover the crown replacement, so I may be out another $1000 to fix the crown and the filling. I know accidents happen, but this was a series of very painful and costly accidents. I would recommend that you find another dentist if possible. read more

Made arrangements for my husband to get his teeth pulled today and start the process of getting dentures. Went 3 weeks ago for initial appointment and x-rays. Gave them his insurance which he pays extra for dental to be covered and Dr. Ferguson is listed as an in network dentist. I have sent several family members there. The day before his appointment they called and said his insurance doesn't work and canceled. My husband has been in tremendous pain for weeks waiting for this appt. I think they just don't want to do it unless you are paying them cash. Don't go here. They are a rip off and don't care. The girls in the office are especially rude and unprofessional and don't know what they are doing. Not sure how much Dr. Ferguson knows but should have a better handle on how her practice is run. read more

I Alex V. had an emergency at 5:30 on Tuesday July 14. I cracked a tooth and I than call Comfort Dental at 14575 W. 64th Suite A Arvada Co. and the receptionist asked what was my problem I said I cracked a tooth. She said sorry to hear that, but don't worry we have an opening at 6pm and could be there I said yes. I check in the receptionist say i would be seen Dr. Zimmet. the team took me to the dental chair in the back. It was beautiful with the all the new equipment. Dr. Zimmet looked at tooth and said we can fix it. The Dr. assistant was very knowledgeable and was friendly. They both made me feel comfortable and with in the hour I was walking out with a new cap on the tooth. I would like to say thanks to Dr. Zimmet and the whole staff and there professional knowledge. I had an appointment at 3 pm for a simple 6 month teeth cleaning!! My appointment was scheduled for 3 pm, it is currently 3:45 and I am still sitting in the lobby. I was initially acknowledged, however, I was informed I didn't have insurance. I asked them to make sure. As it turns out, I do have insurance. There are still 2 people ahead of me. Their appointments were at 2:30 and another also at 3pm. We are all still sitting in the front lobby. I just wish someone from the business would read these reviews and fix the problems. I am sure they wonder why everyone is giving them only a 1 or 2 star review. Now we know why. If you have an appointment make sure you set enough time to sit and read their magazines. read more

My son recently had to have cavities filled and baby teeth pulled which sounds horrifying enough but Dr. Ferguson and the staff at the Arvada office made this experience as painless as possible. They were friendly, caring and professional and I was very surprised with all of the steps they employed to ensure a great and successful experience. I normally never leave reviews, but this one is warranted. I made an appointment to come in for a fallen crown (one that a different Comfort Dental location had put in, hence why I'm calling a different location), and they made me an appointment for the next day at 1230. I get there at 1230, and they first tell me my appointment was at 12, then they realized they were wrong, and they tell me I can't come in because I was supposed to be there at 1215 due to being a new patient, even though none of this was said to me the night before, and I didn't realize I would be a new patient even though it's the same company-Comfort Dental. They should not think this is common sense knowledge to know that. The receptionist-Nicole did not not only apologize but was completely rude and not caring that I will have to wait two extra days due to it being Memorial Day weekend to get my tooth fixed. This is not the first time that I've had the worst customer service/poor quality jobs at these facilities. It would not have been difficult for the receptionist to have told me to come in 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment due to me actually being considered a new patient even though I've been to comfort dentals numerous times. read more

It took THREE HOURS to have a single tooth pulled. The front desk staff kept leaving to go to the back. While she was in the back there was a lot of talk and laughter coming from that area. Two different customers had to ring a "door bell" to get her attention. We waited for 30 minutes in the waiting room then we were called back and waiting for the dentist to consult in a separate room. Three people came by to see who we were and who we were waiting for. We were there for another 30 minutes before my wife was taken back for x-rays. They talked her into doing an assessment of her teeth. That was the most solid, uninterrupted attention she received. I was there to have a tooth looked at. I think it needs a filling but I didn't past the x-ray tech who was insisting on placing the x-ray piece not against my teeth bu in the middle of my mouth cutting that little tendon under my tongue. I complained twice and didn't get much in return. I think when you have to remove the equipment from someones mouth three times so they can say it it hurting that would be a clue. So I removed the lead apron and said I was done. I went into the room with my wife while we waited for the dentist, Dr. Scott Tidwell, to come in and start. It was now 5:45 pm and I watched as one of the employee's son was in the back eating food. He was standing next to the machine (I believe) that sterilized the equipment. We waited another fifteen minutes before Dr. Tidwell came in and used the local anesthetic and left again. Dr. Tidwell came back in at 6:20ish to administer the anesthetic and start. At this point I told him, very seriously, that we had two children at home (13yrs & 10yrs) who we had to get home and cook dinner for that we THOUGHT making a 4pm appt would give us enough time to have a single tooth pulled. He didn't give her very many shots, but I figured he was only pulling one tooth and that it would be enough. It wasn't and my wife was in a lot of pain throughout the whole procedure. This was after she told them of her fear of dentists and pain. She was scheduled with Dr. Tidwell because of his "excellent bedside manner". He was nice, but he also didn't stop when she said it hurt. At one point it hurt so bad she reached up and grabbed his arm/hand. He told her not to do that and went right back to work. This is without a doubt the very worst dental experience I have ever had and I wasn't even the patient. This includes the tooth I broke in half, which abscessed and then required a root canal which I was unable to be completely deadened for because of the infection. This was worse than that. The best part of the experience was watching the employees son vacuum while eating. He was around 8 years old. For my part they returned all my records to me without too much fuss so I didn't have to leave any of my personal information in quite possibly the most amateur doctors office I've ever been to. There is no way in hell I'd ever go back there. Ever. I'd do my own dental work, like Tom Hanks with the ice skate and a rock in Castaway, before I'd let them work on me. ***Pay close attention to the positive reviews on a business. Many businesses will have their employees, a friend or family member write a favorable review. Do they use shorthand for the company name or other "in house" slang in their review? Do they use the name of an employee specifically named in a negative review in their opposing positive review? Was the review completed shortly after the negative one? Does the opposing review state a strikingly similar situation only with an extremely positive review? Know damage control when you see it. Caveat emptor.*** read more

I have been going to this Comfort Dental for the past six years. It's easy for people to write negative reviews about a dentist office because nobody really looks forward to it. Let's face it, going to the dentist is not the most enjoyable experience. The sound of drills and holding my mouth open for long periods of time is tolerable at best. However, this office made it as pleasant of an experience as possible. Over the phone while booking my appointment, the receptionist was welcoming and helpful checking on insurance coverage. Once there, the office was clean, the wait was short, the assistants were gentle and checked in to make sure I was doing ok, and Dr. Tidwell was incredibly personable, taking the time to hear my concerns and thoroughly respond to them. All around great care here! I will be returning to this office as needed, and highly recommend it to others. read more

I don't normally review places, but I'm hoping someone else can avoid the pain and cost I've experienced from this place. I went in when I noticed a cavity to which I needed a root canal procedure. The dentist took well over 4 hours to complete this procedure because she was accepting and working on procedures for walk-ins in the middle of my appointment. Most of my time was spent waiting for her to finish working on other patients. The staff could not get the impression for the crown correct (which seems to be a normal thing there). That was when I decided to cut my losses and go to a different dentist who told me that Comfort Dental does not care about the fit of the crown, and many patients come to them to fix what Comfort Dental messed up. On top of that, I had a cavity filled, since it was next to the tooth getting the root canal. This filling is so sensitive that my tooth brush is hurting it. At first I thought it was residual pain from my root canal, but the pain is isolated in the filling. And hurts even when I touch it with my finger. Ouch, I can't imagine chewing on it. I suppose you get what you pay for, but in the long run, Comfort Dental is costing me a lot more money than if I had just gone to a private dentist in the first place. Save yourself the time, hassle and money. Go somewhere else. read more

As a person that only has Medicaid, I could not find anywhere to go to get dental care. As a Vet, the VA doesn't do ANYTHING for me (you). Amazing care. I have worked with many dentist offices in the role of selling them tech. They are behind in this way but have digital X-ray, a BIG plus as far as radiation is concerned. They go way beyond for treating you well and doing a great job. read more

Comfort Dental is a complete rip-off. Beware of their introductory coupon! My sister was out visiting me from CA and she chipped her tooth. I had a coupon for Comfort Dental that was for an initial check-up, X-rays etc... for $19.95. My sister had a check-up with the dentist at Comfort Dental and she was told that she needed to get a crown for her tooth. She asked if it could be done in the week she was visiting and they said that a week was not enough time to get it all completed in. My sister would have done the work needed for the crown at this Comfort Dental if they could have done it for her in the time she was staying with me. Since however it was impossible, she asked for her X-rays to take home with her so that a new dentist in CA wouldn't have to do another set of X-rays. Comfort Dental said that she would have to pay $25 for a "duplication fee." (Mind you this is MORE than she paid to have the dentist inspect her and get X-rays) My first question to them was, "Aren't the X-rays digital?" in which their response was, "Yes." I told them that we could bring them a CD or thumb drive to put the X-rays onto and their response was, "You don't need to do that; we can e-mail them to you." I said, "Wonderful, let's do that then." To which their response was, "But it is still will be $25 to do this." So, basically Comfort Dental was going to charge my sister $25 to send an e-mail with her X-rays that she already bought from them and are hers legally. I was so outraged. Then they said that she had gotten a really great deal to have the X-rays done at the coupon price, so to pay the $25 to get a digital copy of them was still cheaper than having the X-rays without the coupon. My response was, "So, if she had paid full price for the X-rays then you wouldn't charge her the $25 to have them sent to her e-mail?" Their response was, "No, there would still be the fee; it's Comfort Dental's policy." I asked to speak to someone higher up and got a similar response. I will NEVER go to another Comfort Dental again in my life and I would never recommend it to anyone. What kind of company has such ridiculous hidden costs?! read more

Well I thought I'd make an update of my most recent visit. I went in for the second half of my extractions Wednesday, (48 hours ago). Like my first round of extractions (11 teeth) Dr. Varshavskaya was very generous with the novocaine and the last 12 extractions were totally pain free. I was so numbed up I not only couldn't tell which tooth was being worked on, I didn't even know when one tooth was pulled and the next one was started. Dr. Varshavskaya was finished in no time at all. There was a little discomfort that night when the novocaine wore off but taking one pain pill took care of it and I slept that night straight through. The next morning I took another pain pill and was good for the whole day. It's been 48 hours now and the swelling is going down and I'm not needing the pain pills at all. After the swelling goes away I'll be getting my dentures and learning how best to use them. (We opted for this instead of immediate dentures). Need your teeth examined and/or cleaned? Go here. Need work done? Keep looking. The dentist I worked with (for months) on one particular tooth was incapable of giving me an educated opinion on how to best handle the problem I had with the tooth. When I called to make an appointment with another dentist for a second opinion about the tooth, I was told by the receptionist that because Dr. Mangrum had already treated that tooth, that I couldn't be seen by another Dentist regarding that tooth. (in other words, that was a 'no' for the second opinion). At my last visit, I left in tears because of the pain I experienced in his chair. (In his defense, he did say that "everyone is human, and everyone makes mistakes"). For the next two days I was in bed, in pain, until I could have an oral surgeon fix what the first dentist had started. When I walked into the Oral Surgeon's office, he took one look at the copy of the xray I brought with me, and shook his head in disbelief. He said, "I'm sorry this happened to you. He never should have attempted this." The pain experienced in recovery from that oral surgery was far less than what I endured the two days prior from the dentist at 80th and Sheridan, Dr. Mangrum. I am not against Comfort Dental, as I know there are some great dentists out there with Comfort Dental that provide affordable dental care for families on a budget (the Oral Surgeon I went to was with Comfort Dental, and I had a great experience there). I would recommend that you avoid the 80th and Sheridan location, though, you WILL regret it. I learned the hard way. read more

I wish there was a negative star option! It was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I went in complaining of pain in two teeth on two different sides of my mouth. I also advised that I NEEDED to stay within my dental benefit range and practically begged them to fix the problem. Instead, they did a consult and found how many cavities I have ( I have god awful teeth and have struggled for YEARS) they then proceeded to work on my mouth for FOUR hours, while the dental assistant rudely jerked me around and didn't wait to make sure I was numb enough and then acted inconvenienced when I expressed pain before being fully numb. After all of that, I went home and was still in massive amounts of pain a week later. I went to a different dentist for second opinion and a free consult and was advised that the tooth that I had originally gone in for needed to be pulled instead of just having a filling placed. At this point, my face was swollen to the size of a bowling ball, I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep and the infection had spread to my ears and jaw. I went back to comfort dental to see what they could do and they advised me the tooth was dead and needed to be pulled (duh!) they then pulled it and sent me on my way with no other options for replacing it, a retainer, spacer... NOTHING. The girls at the billing area were less than kind and after all of that (and being told they were ONLY working within the bounds of my benefit... I got a bill for $300.00 several weeks later. Not to mention, the dentist who worked on me was WAY to touchy feely and was more concerned with my plans for the upcoming holiday then with my teeth. Finally, the dental assistant who had worked on me the first time (and another who had been around) were loudly arguing over who was going to have to "take me" as they didn't want to deal with my difficult mouth! I heard every word and then was forced to sit through a procedure done by someone who didn't want to do it because I was in desperate amounts of pain. I found all of my experiences to be despicable, disgusting and outrageously unprofessional. Their lack of professional dental judgement has ended up costing me a lot more money in the end, in addition to the pain I endured. read more

In 2017 I reluctantly let a doctor there put a crown on one of my lower teeth. I noticed as she was fitting me for the temporary crown it felt gritty and nasty. Like it had been used. Words cannot describe how disgusting it felt against my tongue. Well a week later I went back to get the real crown put on and had severe pain where it was being placed. I told her that it hurt even the water was sensitive to it. She put numbing gel inside the area where the crown was going. I had no idea the problems I would have down the road from this. Presently as of yesterday had to have that crown ripped open and my new dentist asked who did it. I told him CD he said they may not have had the right tools because he had to use the smallest tools they had because it was tight to get all the infection out. Basically she (Dr Marina) covered my infected tooth with a crown. I had to have a root canal and had an severe infection on that side of my mouth because of the abscess.. shame on you CD. My advice avoid at all cost. I was on antibiotics over a month. read more
