Unacceptable! !! I am so upset that they would allow one of their patients to be in horrible dental pain and not offer any other solution. I will be finding a new dentist.

It felt like their priority was making money rather than providing appropriate care for their patients. After my X-rays were taken, the hygienist told me there was a serious problem. However, when the dentist examined the issue, he explained that it was simply filling material. What concerned me even more was that the dentist seemed to leave the treatment planning to the hygienist, which made me question whether the recommendations were truly based on my dental needs or on selling more expensive services. The hygienist insisted that I needed to be numbed and undergo a deep cleaning. However, on the day of my appointment, she was unavailable, and another hygienist performed the cleaning instead. The second hygienist did not believe that I needed numbing or a deep cleaning. I have had deep cleanings before, so I explained that I wanted certain teeth to receive more thorough cleaning. However, the second hygienist performed what appeared to be the same superficial cleaning throughout my mouth, rather than addressing the specific areas I had mentioned. When I brought this up, she became visibly upset, walked away, and stopped the cleaning before it was finished. I found this behavior completely unprofessional and unacceptable. When I spoke with the office manager, instead of addressing my concerns, he told me that many patients liked the second hygienist and essentially offered me the option of leaving. This was dismissive and demonstrated a serious lack of customer service. To make matters worse, they charged me in advance. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I felt that my concerns were ignored, the treatment recommendations were questionable, and the staff handled the situation unprofessionally. From the first appointment, I never felt judged, I was treated kindly and with respect. We found the perfect solution for what I needed. The entire process took about 13 months, but I was very happy with the process. The ladies at the front desk were always very nice and we built a nice friendship along the way. Dr McKnight was AMAZING! He really listened that I was very fearful of dentists and pain tolerance was a high priority for me. He made sure I was comfortable the whole time and when I would show some pain, he made sure to take a step back and let me ease into it and he would take care of any pain right away. I appreciated that!! The cost came in lower at the end than what was quoted to begin with, so that was VERY NICE! And I am now done with the process and have a beautiful smile. No problem, I understand things happen but not a great intro to my next appointment that was *supposed* to be this week. I confirmed my appointment and then got a call 24 hours before needing to reschedule. I missed the call as I was working. I call back 4 hours later, after receiving 2 emails that my appointment was rescheduled for different times, and call to confirm my new appointment time I'd been assigned via email. I was told the emails were to get me to call them back to reschedule and were not real appointment times? There are no appointments until March of 2026 but I can get on the waiting list. Not sure why I have an appointment to be on a waiting list with and unknown of when I can get my cleaning and exam. March 2026 would have put me at 15 months from my previous cleaning. I am under the impression I am not an important patient here and am looking for a new dental office that values my health and time.

In response to Barron Family Dental's reply:…read more Before my appointment, I took deliberate steps to confirm that Barron Family Dental was in-network for my specific plan -- Cigna DPPO Advantage. I provided my physical insurance card to your front desk, explicitly asked for verification based on that plan, and was told more than once that your office and the treating provider were in-network. After receiving a significantly higher-than-expected bill, I contacted Cigna directly. During that call -- which occurred shortly after the appointment -- a Cigna representative and I searched their system for Dr. Abigail Nye. At the time, she was not listed under any Cigna network. Not just for my plan -- she simply did not appear in their provider system at all. Now, after the fact, Dr. Nye appears in Cigna's directory -- but only under the Total and Total Plus plan networks. She is still not listed under Cigna DPPO Advantage, which is the plan I have. Yet your office's own PDF -- linked on your website -- explicitly lists "Cigna DPPO Advantage Dentist" under accepted in-network plans. That was part of what influenced my decision to book with your office. The issue here is not just confusion over plan names. It's about negligent misrepresentation. I presented my insurance card, asked your staff to verify network status for my specific plan, and was assured that I was covered. Cigna's billing and coverage records -- both then and now -- do not support that assurance. I was billed at out-of-network rates because the provider was not, and is still not, in-network for my plan. Even if your network affiliations have since changed, that does not retroactively justify what happened at the time of my appointment. Patients have a legal and ethical right to rely on what they're told by a provider's staff when verifying coverage. If I had been informed honestly that the provider wasn't in-network, I would have made a different decision. This situation has caused avoidable financial harm, and I've submitted documentation to the appropriate regulatory authorities. The inconsistency between what your staff communicated, what your website claimed, and what Cigna confirmed is not acceptable. Your website says advantage dentists and I have a ppo advantage plan. Your desk people literally took my card twice and assured me I was covered, intentional or not if it wasn't untrue, that doesn't excuse it from being a point of negligent misrepresentation. This truly is a clear cut small claims case. As well as I have transcripts of the call logs with Cigna dental. Whether or not the dental board wants to waste their time with it is one thing but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is incorrect. In fact I have a feeling a small claims court would see otherwise.

While I have had amazing dental care from Dr Foster…read more(THANK YOU to her!), today I had the worst medical trauma of my life when Dr. Jung extracted my tooth while I was in obvious pain and extreme discomfort. My body was shaking uncontrollably and I was crying and asking for tissues Throughout the 40 min procedure. He put a 2nd shot of Novocain in when he was 1/2 done but continued working immediately, not giving it any time to set in... and I continued crying and shaking and yelling out in pain throughout the entire procedure. I couldn't even speak afterwards because I was weeping and deeply troubled by the violation that had just occurred. I know now I was having an anxiety attack. I just sat in the chair crying until I could get myself out of there as quickly as possible. I had even told Dr Jung and another member of his team about a prior negative experience involving a root canal specialist ripping my root out even though I was signaling I could feel the pain and he also never stopped. I specifically told Dr Jung "as long as you listen to me if I express I'm in pain, all will be ok." But he NEVER stopped the extraction. Just said he was "almost done" and I was "doing a great job." He didn't even check on me or say goodbye before I left. He was already on to the next patient as I wept in the chair. He never spoke to me again. Three members of his staff called to check on me in the days that followed but the OWNER who violated my face and my trust in dentists had not spoken one word to me since he said "I'll give you a minute" as I wept uncontrollably in his chair unable to even look a human in the eyes. He just went on with his day and week and life and let his (amazing!) team pick up the pieces. I sobbed in my car for 25 min before I could drive safely home. I had to use tapping to calm myself down enough to drive. In 2025, no one should have to go through that type of pain for a tooth extraction. It doesn't have to be traumatic or deeply painful both physically and emotionally. I was honestly still in shock and struggling with pain and sorrow and triggered trauma 10 hrs later. And then 5 days later when I got dry socket the pain was excruciating but I couldn't go back to that place for follow up care, so I spent $300 to have another dentist office treat the pain. Dr. Foster is an amazing dentist ... but I will never recommend anyone see Dr Jung and I had to tell my amazing dentist, Dr Foster that due to this extreme violation of body, spirit and trust I can never step foot in that office again.

It's now been a few years and I've been very happy with my choice. I've had a good amount of work done there. Fillings, crowns, and regular cleanings. In all cases the experience and the results have left me happy. I finally decided to write this long overdue revue after the significant "project" of fixing and improving the look of my front teeth. This was a big decision and I'm extremely pleased with the result. I won't claim that a dentist chair is the greatest place on earth. That said, I highly recommend Legacy Ridge Dentistry.
