The waitress was nice, attentive, and professional she kept checking on me as I ate. And The environment was quiet with nice tvs showing current events and the music wasn't loud and overpowering like other restaurants. You could take a phone call if needed. My girlfriends and I came here after going to the Dallas Panic Room across the street since we were starving and it was super close. They easily accommodated our group of 7 + seeing eye dog without an issue. I would say the service was not the best- this is why I knocked off a star. I ordered a steak quesadilla. They wound up dropping my meal and having to remake it- everyone else got their food- and then put chicken in it instead. At that point, I was so hungry I just ate it. This place is amazing! I never saw it when i was going to planet fitness next to it. My in laws went last week and i decided to try it out. They greet you right when you come into the door. They are such sweet people and are always there when you need them. The chips and salsa are bomb! I got the green chicken enchiladas and my nanny got spinach quesadilla. It was delicious. We were served chips and salsa. We had a fabulous server who wad able to get our food orders correct and to us quickly. I ordered a chicken enchilada and a cheese tacos. I'm not sure how a cheese taco is different from a cheese enchilada but apparently it is. I Thought my food was tasty and I left ready to tackle my afternoon. For my main course I had chile verde enchiladas which came with beans and rice. My gold standard for fajitas. Also, my favorite family-owned Tex Mex restaurant in DFW. The chips here are excellent and so is the warm red salsa! Steak fajitas for two cost a mere $22, and have a heaping, generous portion of grilled skirt steak that is tender and perfectly seasoned. The homemade flour tortillas here are the best that I've ever had, full of chew and so amazing that I have to keep from eating all of them by themselves! The rice and beans are made with love, you can just tell. The only thing I disliked was that the air conditioning didn't seem to be working at the time, but the food was so good that I let it slide. Went with my daughter and granddaughter for lunch. Ordered the cheese enchiladas with a beef taco, rice and beans. My daughter ordered just the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The food really lacked seasoning and the salsa lacked spice. I ate my food because I was paying for it but my daughter only ate her beans and queso and chips. Not bad tasting food but it really lacked flavor. It really needed some Mexican spices and seasoning. Maybe I'm brave, but when I see place on Yelp with no stars and zero reviews, I go for it with gusto. But only if the parking lot looks full. The gamble paid off handsomely while aimlessly driving around Irving. Arturo's is an unassuming little place in a strip mall with fantastic food and cheerful service. I had the Camarones Arturo's - bacon-wrapped shrimp served with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, onions and avocado. Flavorful yellow rice and bean soup with ham chunks rounded out the perfectly portioned plate. Only because I've had better bacon-wrapped shrimp elsewhere (it was a liitle dry here), the meal (and the margaritas) rates four out of five with the friendly environment and warm service warranting a return visit. Arturo's menu made for tough choosing. With so many other Mexican options in this area, it'll be a rough call after two nights of excellent dining. The murals on the wall are incredible (the place is undergoing some renovation) and the locals really seem to like it. I'm not sure when I'll be back to Irving, but Arturo's will certainly be a place to stop. read more

This is one of my favorite (and best) Tex-Mex restaurants since I was in Middle School. A friend of mine first introduced me any my family to Arturo's sometime in early 2000 as an occasional weekend celebration. The chips & salsa (and sometimes queso) were fresh, the sizzlin' chicken & beef fajitas were sizzlin' fresh...everything that's on the menu came out fresh, steamy, and homemade and worth the value! 11 years later, and it still at the 5-star quality I expected! The chips were so good. Warm & thin. The salsa was also delicious with just a hint of kick. The food was pretty good. Service good too. But we had a party of 10 and when we got the bill it was just a total, nothing showing for each dish/drink ordered. The bill seemed high to me but I couldn't dispute it as there was nothing to look at but the total. After I signed off on the bill I was asked if I wanted a copy. We were leaving town the next day after a visit w/ family/grandkids so I didn't look at the receipt until the next day. We were charged for 3 alcoholic drinks that no one ordered. No alcohol was ordered at all. We were also charged for 2 kids drinks that weren't ordered. The overcharge before tax and tip was about $36 and about $45 after tip and tax were included for items we didn't receive. I wrote the owner and sent a copy of the receipt but never heard from him. Whether overcharged or not, it seems like a bad practice to not show what the customer is being billed for. read more

My family and I had a great experience at Arturo's last night. The food was good and came out quickly. What was really great was the service. The waitress noticed my nephew was about to spill his drink and helped him with it. She was very friendly and patient. We ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas, chile relleno, and beef enchiladas. Everyone enjoyed their food. They also have a good kids menu. My nephew got a beef enchilada with rice and beans and he cleaned his plate. We also appreciated the quieter atmosphere. Standard Tex-Mex and decent prices. I've been here several times with different groups. It's not a restaurant that stands out for me, but everyone I have gone with really enjoys it. The chips are plain and the salsa is a bit watery, and not very spicy. I like it because I can basically slather it on anything I order, but if you like more heat you may be disappointed. My husband always get a chile relleno and cheese enchiladas and loves them. They have a special fajita, Jorge?, that is made with bacon and pineapple that I adore. The flavor reminds me of a pineapple fried rice, but diabetic or adkins friendly. Give it a shot. It certainly beats the chain Tex-Mex in the area. read more

Great Food, Great Prices, Great Service This little restaurant in Irving has reasonable prices for meals ranging from 8.99 to 16.95. Their shrimp enchiladas are grilled and very tasty. There are spicy meals as well as a milder version for the not-so-daring. I really like their appetizer platter that includes quesadillas, flautas, jalapeno poppers and a small quantity of lettuce and tomato with sour cream, guacamole, and queso. The sweet tea is super-delicious and the servers are very friendly and pace the meal well. We never ran out of drinks or chips either. Highly recommend this place. read more
