Subject: Buyer Beware Like many Arizona residents, I have artificial grass (putting green) in my yard and recently had a contractor out to estimate putting hole replacements. During the process, he pointed out my grass being dry rotted and recommended to check my artificial grass warranty, as they will often have a UV fade/dry rotting warranty. Luckily, the last homeowner kept records of all home improvements-including their purchase agreement from Artificial Grass Masters. I called multiple times to inquire about any warranty coverage - only to be met with emotional instability from the company owner. He was unnecessarily rude and lacked any decorum generally associated with a consumer-facing company owner. Although not the original homeowner who signed the purchase agreement, I did inherent artificial grass master's product and simply had coverage questions. In my experience, AGM's grass dry rotted after 8 years and they do point out their contractual allowance to make changes to terms and warranties should you chose to go with this company. I'm sure the owner will respond combatively as they did over the phone, but I wanted to share my experience with the product and service for anyone else shopping around. Do your own company research & read other reviews/responses. They are not a BBB accredited business for a reason. read more

One of the worst contractors we have ever worked with. They installed the artificial grass in our front yard, the next months, it has stripes! They reinstalled new artificial turf. For our back yard, it took many many tries to match up the seams and they still don't match! Also, just 5 years later, the grass is failing, it has holes as it was not UV protected as advertised. We called to get someone to come out for a warranty claim, they have blown us off, multiple times. Oh, and the owner kept calling me honey (how disgusting) and how he wanted to be my friend. We had our back yard done in 2021. Everything was fantastic until we signed the contract. From there the nightmare started. They had to rebuild our retaining wall 3 times. We've had to have them come out every year for warranty work due to the turf seems separating. Last year the owner had to come out to take a look. He informed me the seems were cut wrong and that was the issue. They had to cut a long strip of turf out and replace it with new turf, I now have two different colored turf in my yard. Fast forward the seem on that piece is now separating. I had a warranty scheduled in January, I asked them to push it back due to a family emergency. They closed out my claim without speaking to me. It's now almost June and it's been almost impossible to get a hold of anyone. Please avoid them and find a better company. read more

I spent roughly 35k on my backyard which came out good... until I had warranty issues! Due to tons of rain, I had seepage issues in my turf. Company came out and resolved for the time being, once again, tons of rain followed and Nick M followed up stating, it would be better to come out once more jobs were on my side of town. I rescheduled shortly after since it's under warranty and don't want my warranty issues to go unresolved. Nick M, had many reasons not to show (flat tire on side of road, soccer game, etc...) no call/no show) Nick M, also stated the owner personally wanted to walk my backyard which was another empty promise. I called the front office numerous times and talked with different ladies which always take a detailed message and promise to have directly go to the owner, never a call back! I was put in contact with Joshua A, with a promise of contacting me, which he did... Called him back 30 minutes later and never answered and went on a Hunting trip. Ugh. My backyard was hideous before, so beyond thankful for what it is now but there are too many issues for me to ignore. Arnold was great to work with, but that's as far as the positive experience goes. The project itself had some delays but I assumed it would. The workers were loud & obnoxious as the sun would set because they didn't come to my home to work until later in the day. The left TRASH in my backyard every time they would come (Big Gulp cups, wrappers, etc.) but it is what it is. My project was complete around October/November 2019. By December, WEEDS were popping up all throughout the backyard where the laid rocks and in the sand fire-pit they made. Very confused since there was supposed to have been weed barrier laid down throughout the entire backyard and to my surprise, there was weed barrier placed under the rocks but overlapped like paper so the weeds are just coming out in the bunches. There was NO weed barrier laid under the rocks near the dog run . The rocks weren't evenly laid, some spots have a thick layer of rocks covering the yard, other spots have a VERY thin layer covering; you take a step and you automatically see the weed barrier. I was having MAJOR issues with the bugs that lived in original dirt in the backyard. I experienced a severe reaction to bites from bugs just doing my walkthrough with Arnold. I was nervous about having sand in the fire-pit area because of this. Welp, after the backyard was complete, i sat in my new fire-pit and got bit...again. Why? They literally just covered the old dirty with the new sand i purchased. No weed barrier, no nothing. So 1. Nothing but weeds growing in the fire-pit and 2. I cant even sit in it because i'll get bit . They did an OK job on the artificial grass except for a minor issue with the dog run. Overall, i'm very disappointed & frustrated. Thus far my experience has been disappointing. I paid a deposit in July expecting that late September or early October work would begin, no problem. We received notice that work would be performed on September 13th and 14th several weeks ago, great. We planned around these expected dates, however they ended up no call no show. Not even a simple text stating delays, which are completely understandable. After numerous calls in we were finally contacted on what was planned as the final day of work with updated dates of the 15th through the 17th. Delays are expected and acceptable, a lack of communication and updates are not. Once the work is complete I will reassess my review for the overall experience. Update 1: It appears someone came by on 9/15 to take account of what had been dropped of, either that or someone my just be looking to steal everything that has been left in my front yard for the past week. 9/16 - my wife received a text stating someone will be working on my yard on the 16th and all day the 17th. No one showed on the 16th. Still no one has showed yet on the 17th. Update 2: I called to speak with the owner whom was good enough to leave a response on my google review, due to again, no show, no call. However the owner is apparently out of town and unable to take my call. The GM reported that I am the 2nd job today. I didn't want to be told I was the priority, all I want is an honest assessment with integrity. I feel I have now been told twice two inaccurate assessments on schedule with no follow-up when scheduling has delays. It's clear I am not a priority and also that I can't get an honest assessment. Update 3: I was told that I'd have someone out to start the work in 2 hours at 11 am. It was 2pm at the time I called back, again no call, no show. I ended up speaking with a 3rd person for the day. I've asked to have everything removed and a refund. I thought that with the owners response I might have a chance at some honesty and action, but the constant apologies and lies were too much. At this point I would never recommend anyone do business with Artificial Grass Masters. It's unfortunate that they wasted so much of mine and my wifes time to be treated this way in the end. Final Update: After cancelling the work and starting the search for someone to install pavers and turf we met with the owner again to convey our experience and unhappiness, at which point he was willing to fully refund our deposit. To his Credit, he sat down and listened and as the face of the company accepted the responsibility for the lack of communication. We renegotiated the contract so I could come to a decision again on who would be performing the work. I went through several other companies that unfortunately weren't able to deliver on the sales side, there was a lack of samples and lack of concept/diagram of work to be performed. I stuck with Artificial Grass Masters on a new contract and direct line of communication with the owner. After a rescheduling of the work, I received plenty of communication and employees showed up for the work in a timely fashion. The employees that performed the work were professional and did a fantastic job, even with some changes to the work being performed. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the result. I would definitely work with Artificial Grass Masters again, however I would certainly ensure a open and direct line of communication with certain folks within the company and express the importance of letting me know of any delays and rescheduling weeks out if needed. Update: As we said before, the finished product looks great. After posting this, Artificial Grass Masters reached out to us to discuss. They are going to be using this as a training tool. We were apprecitive that they acknowledge the issues. What started off as a good experience turned out to be a nightmare. The end product looks good but getting there was hell on wheels! This company does not communicate with the customer nor with themselves. First issue: We ordered pavers, we went to the showroom and picked them out. We waited 3-4 weeks and finally called to see what was happening. We were told they didn't know which paver. Nobody called to say that there was an issue. Second issue: They put us on the schedule, promised their "best team" but nobody showed on the date they were to come out. They delivered half the material. We noticed that the work crew stopped by but drove off. This happened two times. We think they drove off because not all of the materials were there. Third issue: When we called the office we were first told that they didn't give out arrival times. We left a message for Frank, he never called back. We called them again and we were forwarded to our sales person Doug. He never called. The issues just keep coming. Finally, we were told that they would be there the next morning. No one showed. This went on for a couple of more days. We left message after message and no one called back. We finally were able to get the sales person to text us after we left a very nasty message. Shouldn't have had to leave that kind of message to get a response. They finally showed up a week later. The pavers still hadn't delivered. The sale person had to go them himself! This was a Saturday. The crew broke for lunch and never returned. When we called the sales person, he acted like we knew. They didn't return until Monday. We were out of town so they had to jump the fence to get in. They left a pile of rubble in the alley. When we returned we called to find out when that was going to be removed. Never heard back. The following Sunday they came to remove it. We even had to text them twice to make the final payment! We would think twice before ever recommanding or using them again. read more

Artificial Grass Masters won the bid with a superior product, superior price and more importantly, a superior reputation. Their crew was here on time exactly when they were supposed to be and worked through 105 degree heat. The foreman, Raoul, was definitely a highly experienced contractor in installing artificial grass. Raoul and the other three installers on site did a great job and he made sure each step in the installation was to my satisfaction. I chose the "Legacy Pro" turf for its color and thick texture and it is absolutely beautiful, we LOVE it. We had turf installed in 2017. When we had them back out for a cleaning estimate a few months ago, they told me the turf they had originally installed was defective and we could get new grass from the manufacturer for free because it was still under warranty. However, with all of their labor, hauling and misc. fees to reinstall the replacement turf it's going to cost MORE than I originally paid for everything combined. And that's with the "free" replacement turf. The contract I signed also specified there's a prorated price for labor or replacing defective grass after the 5 year warranty period and they refuse to explain this to me. Now we are in 2025, and I need more work done on my yard. I called in March to have someone come out, no one called back to schedule so I called back in late March and got an appointment for April 4th two men came out took a look at my yard and said it is not worth cleaning better to replace, I agreed, I also asked them to look at my front yard and let me know what they thought would be best artificial grass or pavers. They said no problem, they would send me estimates for all three requests. Today is April 7th, I have not had any contact with Artificial Grass Master, not even an estimate. I must give this Business 2 Stars because of the Lack Of Communication from our Project Manager. When the installation was to take place the workers did not speak English at all and had a hard time reading the Diagram. In the middle of the job, they left and said the Truck Broke Down. Nobody contacted us and we were left with a job half done. We called and texted and emailed the company and got different stories as to why our project was incomplete. Finally the grass was installed, YAY. But the left over DEBRIS out in front of our house and in the street for 3 weeks. Finally someone from Quality Control came out and did a final inspection and had Debris cleaned up. I have updated my review to reflect the effort of the business owner. Original Post: This is a review for Artificial Grass Masters. I do not recommend this company. I shopped around quite a bit for grass installation. It is a simple job for the front yard. Removal of 3 shrubs and placement of grass. No pavers. No additional items. They were not the cheapest, by any means, but they seemed to have good reviews and could get it done fairly quickly. They are supposed to be doing the install now. They are not. I received a text on Monday that the installation would be done the following Tuesday (8 days away). The following Tuesday has arrived and, since I didn't get to pick my install date, I did make the choice to call off work to make sure that the install went well. The crew arrived at around 7:30 am. They said "where are the materials?". Great question... nothing at all has been communicated with me. I don't do artificial grass... I assumed that for a small job that perhaps the materials would be dealt with the day-of. I called my project manager. Apparently he came and marked the area earlier, but made no attempt to touch base with me while he was here (I am always up early, but he came and went without talking to me at all). He said he is "working on it". No news. The "Quality Control Specialist" stopped by, completely surprised that no work was going on. He is going to call the office since nothing had been communicated with him. Just received a call from a Sales Manager that "all the trucks are down and not working". ALL of them. Everywhere. I asked how long that had been going on since the work crew seemed surprised that no supplies were here and I was notified over a week ago about the install date. Total lack of communication. I asked what was going to be done to make this right, considering I have also now lost a day of work (yes, it was my choice, but it is something to be considered). I was told that "all I know is that all the trucks are having mechanical issues". Seriously. At least be honest. Not for the DIYer. After some research, my husband was set on ordering the grass from this company specifically. He has installed artificial turf a couple times now. We looked at options in the "showroom" and were supported by a really great guy! He gave us great advice and even gave my husband some tips on installation. We felt validated in our choice and purchased our grass. My husband paid for delivery of the grass, sand, and nails. Someone would call us for an ETA. That was a Wednesday. Monday, my husband called. Beware of this company. Juan was our project manager and lied the whole time, was not communicating with us and gave nothing but excuses. I had turf and rock installed, after installing the turf I had a major water leak from our irrigation, they just put pvc sleeve over it, tried calling our project manager who wouldn't call us back, had to shut off irrigation. They did fix on Monday but said they didnt do it. I had a tree stump that took them days to remove because the company was arguing about a saw they needed, I guess they wouldn't give it to the crew at our house. They finally get done with that, lay the rock and it's not the color I ordered. They know it's not the color I ordered but they laid it anyway, no discussion about it, didn't give me an option to choose another color, nothing, no communication! I spoke to the rude manager nick who seems to think it's ok that they laid a rock that I didn't order because it's the closest color..you do not get to choose what is at MY house and what IM paying for. Totally ridiculous! Now, I have to have them come and get the rock so I can have another company lay the rock that I want! We should be happy our front and back yards are done, instead we are so disappointed and angered at how we were treated by this company. Juan lies alot and nick spoke to me like I was dirt. Do not recommend and will never use this company again! UPDATE: Owner text my husband to ask him to help him out with my bad review, so here you go...still 1 star!!!! Promised to get all our issues fixed and promised a supervisor and team by 830am the next day, he also stated we would speak to him again before our project was done. Well, the team was 1 guy. They had 1 guy come and get all the wrong rock that was laid. The team did show up about noon. They finished the job and I never heard from the owner again until he asked for an update of this review! Let me add that I did receive a discount, it was about $400 just a bit shy of what my water bill will be because they wasted hundreds of gallons of water leaving my irrigation the way they did. So I technically got about $100 discount. I don't really care about a discount, I wanted a company that cared about the job and my home and would do this job without all these mistakes and terrible management that caused stress and headaches throught this project! I'm updating with photos of my capped water line, the wrong and right rock. You can clearly see the difference in rock color and the manager nick thought i should just keep this rock even though I didnt order this color! END RESULT: It finally looks good,but I still would not recommend nor ever use this company again. I received 5 different quotes and though they were not the least expensive they were able to come out within a week and complete the job within 5 days. The other quotes I received they were not going to be able to start for at least 6 -8 weeks. They would have come out sooner and finished in 3 days but the rain held them up. Eric the project manager was outstanding and held to his commitment. Arnold the other project manager was awesome as well. They were very honest and up front and did an outstanding job they met all of our expectations and more. I think the only reason they were nit the least expensive was because the company that provided me the quote prior to them was not licensed or bonded so that's why I chose Artificial Grass Masters. I got most of my backyard landscaping done through Artifical Grass Masters. This included pavers, curbing, artificial grass, and a raised garden bed. Randy was the project manager that I worked with. Overall, I thought he was great and he was able to provide guidance to stay on budget. I'll break down my rating by project- Turf 5/5: Crew arrived before the install to get a head start on the prep work. When the time came, they stayed until everything was done and did an amazing job. You can't tell where the seams are!! They also made sure that everything was cleaned up before they left. Curbing 5/5: I love the curbing. It was actually Randy's suggestion and I wouldn't have even thought about doing it if it wasn't for him. Pavers 4/5: There were supposed to be 3 different sized pavers but there wasn't enough of the smallest size delivered. In one area, the pattern ends up changing because the installers ran out of the small size. It would have looked better to not have even used that size but I wasn't given the option. The actual paver color and style looks nice though. Raised Garden Bed 3/5: This was the longest part of the project. There were problems getting enough of the brick to build the bed. It ended up coming in two different deliveries so there are two different colors. The first delivery was laid down and then the second on top of that, no cement was used. It also wasn't very straight. During the quality check, I brought this up and it was worked out. The bricks were restacked in a manner that the colors blend better, alignment was fixed as good as possible, and the top 2 layers were "glued" down. My overall rating is 4.25/5 stars and I would recommend using Artifical Grass Masters! read more

Once you write the check for the half down , things move pretty fast . The materials started getting delivered. The next day , their dumpster the next . Took them one full day abs a half to finish . Do not use this company. Enrique came out originally on September 3rd. We discussed at length my project and budget. He assured me that everything we discussed would fall into my budget. I got the estimate and it did fit into my budget, however, he failed to add in an approximately 300 sq foot of artificial turf install into that quote, including that error on his part would put the project out of budget. This error was not brought to my attention at any point after the quote came through, even after supposedly being checked by a boss. I thought the quote was sound and called to schedule a second apt. to fine tune the project. When he came out again, with me being ready to put down a down payment and schedule the project I made some adjustments, which I knew would be a small increase to the original estimate. He sent the revised quote and called to let me know he had sent it. He chose not to mention that he had made the error previously, I'm assuming he was hoping I wouldn't notice that he increased the sq footage of turf for my project, when our conversation was to significantly cut the turf patch size. The new estimate also didn't increase the envriofill sq footage to match the non error amount of turf, again deceiving me on the true price, nor did it include the sun screens/install that he said I needed originally. I'm assuming since he stated they were a requirement the first time that either that was a lie, or he again left off a significant piece of information from the final quote. All of this totals over $2000 in his errors left off of quotes given. I understand that estimates are loose and things change, but that is a significant amount to be off by and it makes me question what else he has left off and what surprise bill I will get at the end of the project. When I called to discuss these errors he told me not to get upset, which was very patronizing. He also tried to placate me by saying he gave me a discount that I didn't deserve (military). I did not ask for this discount or any discount for that matter. He also failed to realize that he gave me the same 'discount' percentage in the previous estimate, but just had it named 'manager discount' instead. This leads me to believe they inflate prices then give "discounts" to make the company appear better. I informed the company I would not be moving forward due to these issues. A manager asked to speak with me about these concerns. I thought great, they might actually care about what happened. He asked me to give them a second chance and gave me to another "manager" to discuss him coming out to redo the quote correctly. The first thing that manager said was sorry for Enrique always being late for meetings. I found that comical, as that was something I never mentioned nor experienced. This means they didn't even care to understand why I was was concerned with the project manager and using the company. read more

The original install took twice as long as quoted and they charged me $500 for a second dumpster that showed up over half full already. Within hours of install the seem came up after our kids played on it. It wasn't installed properly and the sales guy Joey blamed us, come to find out it wasn't installed properly. Them seem had no glue or backing to do it the right way. It took over a month to get it repaired. Every time we called Joey or George, Quality Control Manager. We got excuse after excuse as to why it wasn't getting done today. Usually the truck broke down or they had to finish a BIG job that was obviously more important then ours. When they did finally do the repairs they used a bag of sand I purchased from the Depot for another project. But even the right type of fill sand for the grass. Without asking or telling me. Then after it was down and final they loaded all the extra material, that we paid for, back in a dumpster and took it. Mostly just dirt and some crushed granite. Finally. We found damages to our pavers in several areas that we never reported because on the contract it states they are not responsible. Be careful with these guys! I only gave it 2 stars instead of zero because it actually looks great! read more

I saw their add in the local Home Concepts magazine and they sound like they will be reasonable and match lower bids. This couldn't be further than the truth. I had three bids and they were by far the highest. I sent Jonathan the quote from a competitor and all he said (after guessing what company) was my boss hates those guys. Never heard back from them and didn't expect to. Their quote had a charge for every little aspect of the job. Nothing bundled, including charge for delivery, waste haul away, every little thing you could dream of! It was 95% higher than one quote and 80% higher than the second quote. Oh and never received the $50 for not beating my quote. What a laugh...read the fine print! read more
