This company has consistently been a let down. I live out of town and my elderly parents, now just my elderly mother uses their services monthly against my suggestions to replace them. They do very very little work. They hack bushes to nothing even when asked otherwise. This morning the young man with the hedge trimmer,(they only use the hedge trimmer, blower and trash can as tools in both yards), was standing on the brick wall leaning on the neighbors gazebo making inappropriate gestures with said tool while the "boss" of the team took a video and laughed not noticing the customer was sitting on the patio watching. The other employee also made sure to add nice wind effects by pointing the blower at the one up on the brick wall while he again leaned on my neighbors gazebo. After that still not noticing me on the patio he skipped over the other hedges and headed for the honeysuckle (not a hedge) to hack it to nothing once again this month! I stopped him and asked that he cut only the bottom shaping it more like a tree than removing the top that has flowers and also provides privacy from the 2 story house behind us. He gave me a dirty look and proceeded to half way trim the bottom. After I asked him if he would pay for the work in front of him he said, "no" but he wouldn't tell someone how to do their job and there was no f*cking reason for me to be watching him work. He told me his boss was out front if I'd like to speak to him (more cussing and disrespect accompanied this). Boss came back and as I spoke of my distaste he told me just because he's the owners son I don't get to f*cking talk to him however I want. And if I wanted it done right I should have left them alone to do their job (hack it to nothing). He called his dad the owner went out front of my house yelling obscenities loud enough for the neighbors to hear about what a b*tch I am and many more entertaining things. He came back into the yard, hacked a little more, waved at me and left. We will no longer be requiring the service from this company. read more

CWC did my yard maintenance monthly for a reasonable price on my Arrowhead house for almost 6 years until I moved out and even after I moved out until the house was sold!! They were always very thorough and very courteous and did a great job on my yard!! They even literally saved my neighbor's life when they were getting ready to leave and my 65 year old neighbor fell outside his house in the middle of summer after what looked like a heat stroke! The supervisor called 911 immediately and a couple of the crew went and gently moved him to the shade and EMT then came and took him to the hospital! I had an interaction with the the owner of this company that left me shaken and fearful for my safety. He yelled obscenities, racial slurs and insults. After reading their reviews I see this is a pattern with the owners. I suggest folks work with a company that is professional and take their hard earned money elsewhere. I was a customer of CWC for several years and it has been a constant battle with them. They have damaged many items in my yard, do not listen to what I want and try and sell me on things I don't need. When they make a mistake I have to fight to get it corrected and when it does get corrected the owner tells me they did me a favor by fixing their mistake at no cost. I wish I had room here to tell of my complete experience with this company as it has been nothing but a nightmare. CWC Landscape came out and gave me an estimate in late December and I arranged for bi-monthly service beginning in January. The estimate appointment and the first visit from the crew went well, and my front/back yard areas looked good. On February 17th, I received an email from the office reminding me that my next visit from the crew would be on Friday, March 1st. That email also included a standard warning statement: "Please remember that we do have a 24 business hour cancellation notice policy therefore if you need to change or cancel this appointment we ask that you please contact our office immediately at 602.451.5292 and leave a message if we are not available. This will insure you avoid any cancellation fees". I rearranged my schedule so that I would be at home all day on March 1st in order to point out some specific concerns. Instead, the crew arrived with no advance notice and completed their work on Thursday, February 28th while I was out. When I emailed Dedra in the office to complain about this, she replied that she "was hoping to email you and a couple of other clients I had to reschedule to today. We sort of had a wonky schedule today and tomorrow, normally I always notify you in advance so I do apologize". Since there had been a hard frost just after the January visit, I expected that several dead plants would be cut back this time and not left until May, since I have bi-monthly service. Instead, the crew left them untouched on February 28th, but cut them back on March 1st--though only at my specific request--when they did a good job of trimming and cleaning up the accumulated debris. However, there was then an issue with a mesquite tree. When I asked them to trim it a bit on each side, they said that they would "have to take a picture of the tree and wait for an estimate from the office" before getting back to me. No one ever got back to me. Without any further conversations, they trimmed the side of the tree that was overhanging the pool, but not the other side--so it looked very unbalanced. I was not watching them perform this work because they told me they were waiting for an estimate. Had I known that they were going to trim it that same day, I would have stayed with them to ensure that it was shaped evenly. When I received an email billing statement on Monday, March 4th, I was quite surprised at the extra charge for "1 hr. mesquite thinning" @ $50. The crew did NOT spend anywhere near a full hour working on my one single mesquite tree. I am very disappointed with CWC's service for all the above reasons, and although I remitted the full payment requested in the invoice, I will NOT continue doing business with them. RESPONSE TO DEDRA'S COMMENT DATED 3/8/2019: Dedra-- I believe that I wrote a fair and balanced review of my personal experience with CWC Landscaping. I clearly noted multiple areas of satisfaction (estimate appointment, outcome of first visit, and March 1st cleanup of frost damage) and I was equally clear about my dissatisfaction regarding other matters (scheduling error, crew's original plan to leave frost damage in place until the May visit, lack of response about the promised advance estimate for tree-trimming, and the lopsided appearance of the tree after work was completed). I most certainly DID contact CWC by email on February 28th regarding the scheduling problem and the lack of initial shrub trimming. If the follow-up work had been satisfactory, all would have been well--but new issues emerged. A satisfied customer should NOT be expected to follow-up with a provider multiple times regarding a service visit. Just for the record, YELP's rating system defines the 2-star review that I wrote as, "Meh--I've experienced better"--an absolutely accurate assessment, based on the other landscapers and tree-trimmers who have performed work at my home over the past 16 years. Also for the record, I saw only 2 men working on March 1st, and not 4. Please note that I did NOT leave a 1-star review (defined by YELP as "Eek--methinks NOT!") nor was it a 3-star review (defined by YELP as "A-OK"). This company does my neighbors yard. Every time they come our cars get dusty. They blow trash debris on my yard. We've said something to the workers couple times. It still happens each time. I work from home so I see it each time they come. Not a company I would recommend. read more

I have been asked by the President of CWC Landscapes, Dedra Chambers, to reword or remove my review under threat of a slander lawsuit, so here is my experience with Mark Chambers, when he arrived to give me a quote for installing sod in my backyard. The following are facts and my opinions, with no intention other than to share my experience, which is what this forum is designed for. Mark Chambers was running late when he showed up to my house. I invited him into the backyard and showed him a picture of the design I hoped for. Mark started dragging his foot on the dirt to outline the space. I told Mark the space would be a little wider. He started over, dragging a little further out. I said: "That's still not quite it, but I think you get the idea." Mark said he would have to rip out all of the sprinklers, because "You're not gonna like this." I did not understand why I would not like it, nor did I understand why he would need to remove the sprinklers. I asked Mark to explain this. He declared that it was his job to make me happy and that he was a five star company and "I don't need your money." He said this in a raised voice. I said: "Okay, well it sounds like this isn't something you're willing to work with me on..." He repeated his words, loudly. I did not understand why he responded this way. I walked to my door and he continued towards my side gate. I told him that I would share my experience with others and would be posting online reviews. As he continued, he loudly exclaimed words. I locked my door. I felt unsafe. I followed up with his company and briefly shared my experience with the woman who answered the phone. read more

CWC Landscaping is Very unprofessional & does not care for the safety of residents. I requested my property management company to repair faulty sprinklers in our backyard. Later I was notified via email "You should be hearing from the vendor (CWC Landscaping) shortly to schedule an appointment for the estimate and/or repair." Several days passed with no contact from CWC so I called them using the info my property management had given. Monday June 27th 2016, I spoke to a woman at CWC explaining I wanted to schedule a visit. The woman then stated CWC already had someone visit my home & submit an estimate to my property management company. I was utterly confused & asked how that was possible since a visit hadn't been scheduled nor had anyone ever come visit. The woman then said "We don't need to contact you since the property management company contacted us, not you. If your gate was unlocked our person will go ahead and walk in but if it's locked they'll jump the wall". I was in SHOCK. At that point I asked "So you're telling me that your employee came to my home, jumped my wall and entered my property without first knocking at my door or asking permission?" She said "Yes." I am a stay-at-home mom of young children, have a small pooch AND we're home-invasion survivors which is the reason we moved to Surprise, to feel safe in our home once again. Knowing that some "Stranger" actually jumped my wall & entered our property without my knowledge or permission is beyond TERRIFYING. It's even more terrifying since my children are in & out of the backyard often throughout the day. At that point I sternly voiced my opinion in regard to their outrageous misconduct, being unprofessional, that I was notified an appointment would be scheduled & that my children play in the backyard often. Just then another woman got on the phone & loudly stated she was the "owner of the company". She quickly continued to state rudely that they didn't need to contact me then said "And yes someone did jump your wall, I know this because it was my husband". Now in UTTER SHOCK holding back my tears, the only thing I could come up with to say was "Next time I'm calling cops" and I quickly hung up. I immediately called my property management company & explained what had happened. The management's representative was shocked as well. She apologized & explained they never should've entered my backyard before scheduling an appointment first or getting my authorization. She also explained they would be contacting CWC in regard to this incident in hopes it wouldn't happen again. I requested to have someone come to our home to repair some faulty sprinklers so we could continue our new found family-fun-times in our backyard NOT to be treated poorly and make us feel unsafe being in our home again :-( If they had apologized for their misconduct and assured me that this wouldn't happen again I wouldn't have given 1 star... to be honest I probably wouldn't have even left a review but as of yet no one has tried to contact me to apologize. None of this would've happened had they showed some common courtesy & professionalism by scheduling an appointment or at least knocked on my door. read more

CWC did an excellent job helping me prepare my neglected yard for a house sale. Even though this is a small and one-time-only job on this house, they treated it seriously and took it to heart that there was no up-selling potential. Services included palm and bush trimming, yard sweep, weed spray, and a complete re-sod of the backyard (with deep clear of prior dead grass). Three total visits, 7 separate people, and each was timely, courteous and hard working. The charges were quoted during the first visit and did not change. Plus CWC did half-deposit and then half-at-finish payment, which is a real confidence builder. During the process, their foreman also diagnosed a long-standing sprinkler valve issue and fixed it in a cost effective manner instead of replacing the unit for a few extra dollars profit. Understanding we needed the front cleaned up before the HOA came back, they were able to accommodate us by taking care of the front super fast and then came back to complete the back yard. The worst landscape company I have ever encountered. They were out a little over three weeks ago. I terminated them within a couple of days. They sent out incompetents who were unfamiliar with my property and my requirements. I just discovered tonite that they disconnected and plugged the irrigation line to 5 large pots on my deck. Fortunately, I returned from being gone for almost 2 weeks and discovered what they had done --after I noticed that the plants were dying. In addition the trimming done on my large photinia was a hack job across the top. Two olive trees were trimmed contrary to my instructions - removing my screening from the street. read more

CWC removed a dead tree did a landscaping trimming and cleanup for me. In addition, Mark first did a walk thru with me to address my needs and concerns and discuss a plan going forward. This initial meeting took longer than I would have preferred but they explained that because of current job and vacation schedules, it would take a couple weeks to get together. I then got on their schedule for the initial maintenance. The crew showed up a couple days later than scheduled because of unanticipated work delays on another project, but this worked out fine since my schedule was flexible. JT, the foreman, was very personable, capable, and helpful in listening to my needs and explaining their approach and a plan going forward. The crew did a very good job, and the yard looked great. JT indicated that a different person would be in touch with me soon to check my irrigation system and make any necessary adjustments. read more

This company is extremely unprofessional. This company came to do work at my neighbors house but they blew his leaves into our yard and into our pool. I didn't even want them to clean it but simply went to ask them to be more careful next time. The guy was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Note that I was nice about it and was being polite. His response was "what the f*ck do you want me to do about it". And continued to be rude when all I asked was to be careful Next time. He used profanity several times and even commented on my where I was from. The neighbor who they were working for was embarrassed and couldn't believe their behavior. Our neighbor felt so bad that he wanted to help us clean up the mess. Take all the negative reviews as a sign that they are unprofessional, and take all the owners responses that take no responsibility as that they dont care. I contacted them about my drip system main line springing multiple leaks. Mark came out the next day we talked about the system probably being very old but we could try to replace about 10-15 feet of drip line to see if they could fix the problem for now for less money. I agreed and we gave it a try. even was fine with me doing that work myself and gave me a couple of couplings off his truck. I appreciated that he was fine with trying to make the system last longer and save a little money. In this case it did not work, the system was just too old and kept bursting a little further down the line. so we had to put in a new drip and decided to add sprinklers in the back as well. We got two quotes 1 from CWC and 1 elsewhere, CWC took into account that I had already dug up about 15 feet of line and gave me the better price so we went with them. they showed up on time, got done quickly and did an excellent job. I inquired about monthly service and they were priced very reasonable so now they come every month. I love that they send an email a few days before they come, always show up when they say, and it's so easy to pay via Paypal for me. the first time they came they accidentally cut a couple drip lines with the weed wacker but I called and they came out right away to fix it and now when they are done landscaping the turn everything on to make sure they didn't hit anything. I have been very happy with their services and will keep them on. I understand people make mistakes sometimes it's how those mistakes are handled that count. I can't speak for all these other reviews but I think people have to lighten up a little. I think CWC is a great company and I have appreciated everything they have done for us. read more

Do not use this company they are not a good landscaper. I also agree with last reviewer. I was a good customer with them and yet they failed to acknowledge when they did something wrong. They broke my sprinkler head twice in one year. First time fixed it with no arguments the second time I had to fight for them to take the charge off the second time when they tried to pawn it off as being my sprinkler heads being old. They did take the charge off but I had to fight with them to do it. This last visit they barely did any landscaping in my yard, like nothing. There response is that we usually do light shaping in the winter but will make up for it on next visit. When I said they did nothing they really didn't do any yard work at all. They are a rip off company and I would take heed in finding another landscaper. read more
