Love the atmosphere and there is ample parking in the back if it is not packed. Side note, the parking lot is all rocks- does anyone else love the sound of tires driving slowly on rocks? No? Just me I guess. This place was pricey for lunch. 50+ bucks for splitting a pie, one app and 2 sodas. The pizza was just a little more charred than I like- and I love crispy things. The burnt bubbles on top disintegrated into powder if touched. Okay pizza, better atmosphere but still overpriced for us to return.

Be prepared to wait because they don't take reservations, but it's worth it. It was an hour wait on a Friday night. They have an outside area where you can hang out and order drinks while you wait. 10/10 for vibes, food and drinks. Their pizza is one of the best. I can't wait to go back.

I enjoyed EVERYTHING about Artie's. Driving to the restaurant, you'd swear that it would be at someone's residence, but after passing a few homes on that block, it catches your attention. The restaurant's interior is spacious, I loved the separated layout of their tables, and the contemporary warehouse vibe was awesome. Known for its wood-fired pizzas, Italian dishes, baked goods, and operating in a larger space that was formerly Arturo's. It offers a full bar with wine and cocktails, and is praised for its fresh ingredients and unique pizza toppings. For the first time, I ordered a Brussels Sprout Pizza (Brussels sprouts, bagna cauda, leeks, fresh mozzarella, parmigiano) and it was EXCEPTIONAL. The crust was thin, the undercarriage was lightly charred, all of the ingredients remained firmly on the crust with every bite, and I cannot recommend this pie, enough. The Meatball appetizer was just as good as the pizza. Each meatball was totally covered with the sweet and savory sauce and it's the perfect starter. We also ordered the Orecchiette Piccante (spicy tomato sauce, herbed breadcrumbs, ricotta). Each forkful was pleasantly spicy and the pasta was firm, fresh, and delicious. For the first time, I ordered a Hibiscus Iced Tea and it was refreshing, sweet, and served in a large glass. The service was extraordinary. Andres tended to us with a smile, was attentive, and made us comfortable throughout every course. I became a huge fan of Artie's and it will be on the top of my list when visiting this area. Ohhhhh.... and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Artie's was an accidental discovery when I saw a coffee shop a sign saying "proudly serving croissants from Artie's." Anywhere proudly serving a croissant from a bakery is a place I need to know about. I figured I needed to drop in to see the source and very glad I did. Artie's is a huge buildout in a warehouse with two floors. There is a bakery section with pastries and coffee in addition to a sit down restaurant serving sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and cocktails. The we got the maple bacon pizza and it was delicious. I loved the crust and would definitely reorder. We also got the mortadella sandwich with Comte.. amazing. The bread was especially excellent. There is no doubt I want to return to Artie's for more pizzas and sandwiches. We got a table without a wait on a dreary Saturday afternoon, but I read this place has a pretty long wait for dinners and I imagine it's even longer on a beautiful summer day.

Cannot believe how busy it was on a Monday night! They have a waiting area outside and allow you to order drinks while you wait which was nice. As a party of four, we ordered two large pies: Zucca (zucchini and ricotta white pizza) and Caciocavallo (red sauce, shaved caciocavallo cheese, EVOO) and added jalapeños. Both were a hit, but I'd swap the Caciocavallo for a Margarita next time. Crust was super crusty. Small park lot in the back.

Everything I ate here was delicious! The whipped ricotta toast was a fabulous appetizer, and I couldn't put the pizza down. I'd definitely come back to Artie's for the food and the quick and friendly service

MAPLEWOOD: Artie's may not be a total secret, but it still feels like a special find. This cozy spot is beloved for its wood-fired pizzas, freshly baked bread, and a full bar that keeps the good vibes flowing. From the moment we arrived, we were drawn in by the laid-back atmosphere, just people savoring great food under the evening sky. Their seasonal outdoor seating is dog friendly, so your pup can join in on the fun. And if there is a bit of a wait for a table (it is a popular place for a reason!), there is a convenient outdoor truck serving up drinks and light bites to keep you happy while you hang out.

Service is amazing! Came here for dinner twice! Waited about an hour each time! My suggestion is to come at 5pm when they first opened for dinner service to save a little bit of time! But either way it's still worth the wait!! I cannot believe I waited this long to try this gem! I would order anything and everything on the menu, except for the olive cake on the dessert menu. The restaurant is very roomy but dark at times. We had to use our flashlight to read the menu haha But again ORDER AND TRY ALL THE PIZZA they have! Even the leftovers are delicious and to die for!

Such a cute hidden gem! Casual Italian restaurant with a cafe counter for pasties. I dined in and the service was great! I highly recommend the crostini, it was absolutely delicious and flavorful! I also had the margarita pizza and it was okay. For parking they have a free lot behind the restaurant.

Arties, renamed from Arturos is a wood fire pizza spot that has move from its former location in Maplewood village to a much more fitting spot. Why more fitting? They have a nice sized outdoor area as well as plenty of indoor seating. The ambience here has a classy and intimate feel with dim lighting which along with the small menu print which is an upfront complaint. Food options of course include x amount pie choices and several appetizers. My friend and I split a couple personal pies - maple bacon and a Margherita but started with meatballs with the ricotta. The meatballs were excellent and sharable at 6. The sauce and ricotta tasted so fresh. This carried over well with the Margherita pie which had great flavor as well. The maple bacon had a nice well maple flavor along with the wood fire taste. My other complaint is that the pies seemed burnt like most of the slices were thin and crunchy and burnt. They weren't ruined but I remember eating at Arturos and it was better than this visit. To drink I had Arties's lemonade cocktail. I would try here again, its setting is great for a family outing, date or solo. The service is good with a lot of options in the way of pizza, baked goods and more.

We LOVE Artie's. The pizza, pasta, salads, everything is always delicious. Come early or come late because otherwise you are sure to wait an hour for a table. It's worth it! You can sit and have a drink while you wait. Now in the warm weather they have a bar trailer on the front patio with beach chairs. They have parking in the back and there's plenty of street parking.

Artie's - holy moly! Everything we ate was unreal. I can definitely see how they made it on the list of Yelp North Jersey's Top 50 Places to Eat in 2024. Before I was impressed by the food I was impressed by the space. It's a bright and vibrant space, almost like a dining hall with long wooden tables, garage doors that open up to face a patio and a fully stocked pastry counter / coffee bar. I like that you can sit down for a meal, or just take a pastry and coffee to go. Pizza is of course where it's at, but they have a really extensive menu with pastas, sandwiches, salads, apps, etc. The menu reminded me a bit of Porta's. Pizzas come in a small and a large. A small is more than enough for two, especially if you plan to order another item or so. The sausage, pepper and onion pizza was incredible. I like how the dough is light and fluffy and not too charred. Meatballs were a must get. That red sauce.... wow. We also loved the Italian sandwich which came on a very fresh piece of crusty bread. Pastries to end the meal were a must, and I tried some sort of creme brulee stuffed donut that was beyond. If we had a place like this in Morristown I'd probably come every week. Definitely worth a visit, and just a heads up that parking can be tricky!

Got there right before dinner opening and a crowd was already lining up. Luckily the interior was very spacey and airy (looks like it could have been a former auto body shop or garage from the outside). Menu specializes in wood fired pizzas. They also have small plates (like Italian style tapas) and homemade pastas. We decided to try a bit of it all. They also have a bakery section with breads and pastries. Got a Margherita pizza as well as a mushroom. For small plates we ordered the Ceci and crostini. We also got a farmers salad. All were excellent. The pizzas had chewy but crisp slightly charred crusts. The cheese not too thick and went with the crushed tomatoes and fresh basil well. The crostini came with ricotta (smooth and creamy) and extra virgin olive oil. The bread was very rustic with a good crust and sopped up the dips well. The farmers salad was very fresh. It had cracked pepper, pear slices, parmigiano Reggiano cheese, spinach, romaine and radish. It was very tasty. The Ceci had soft chickpeas, with shredded cheese, olive oil, pepper and garlic. The team of servers made everything go smoothly. Too full for dessert or pastries but definitely next time.

Does Artie's have any gluten free options?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. I've gone in before hoping for gluten free or even vegan cheese pizza's but they don't have anything unless the pm menu has changed recently. I'm hoping it's something they think about adding to their menu.

Is pizza served during their lunch hour? I remember coming here a couple of years ago and was only able to order from a small lunch selection.

Yes it is. And you can order it to go if the wait for a table is too long.

Best plan to secure table for 6 on a Saturday night?

Just go 30 minutes prior. U can wait outside and have drinks. All party must be present or you will not be seated.

Is this still Dan Richer's recipe? And does he still own the place?

Dan does not own it anymore but it is where he learned how to make great pizza

    Is this place byob?

    Sure is!

Do you not serve any chicken?

From what I saw on the menu.. the answer is no.

Being italian, but unfamiliar with Spaghetti all'Assassina, we were intrigued and then delighted by the chef and owner who not only served up helpings of his signature Assassina dish, but preceded it with a traditional antipasto and a primo of his special cheese filled meatballs over pasta. We topped our evening off with espresso/sambuca/dolci which left us satiated and satisfied. Added benefit is BYOB which keeps the price reasonable and the wine flowing. Food was delicious and the staff could not be friendlier or eager to please. Six italian brothers from Dyker Heights Brooklyn from the 50's and 60's give this place "Cinque Stelle".

Got the GARLIC-CHEESE FLATBREAD, the EGGPLANT PARMIGIANA, and the MAKE YOUR OWN with penne, meatballs, roasted garlic, and Napolitana Tomato sauce. 4/5 on the first two, 4.5/5 on the MYO. Flatbread would be really good if it were had at the restaurant instead of takeout, however air frying it to crisp up the bread would definitely address that. My GF said the eggplant was good. And the MYO I got was really good. Nice flavorful meatballs, really good sauce, and the roasted garlic was perfect a perfect addition. There was enough of a portion of each dinner for two nights of meals so value-wise, this was an excellent dinner spot. May have to try dine-in next time we come back (and we will be back).
