Arthur's is my favorite burger joint in all of Cincinnati. The quality cannot be beat, and they are cooked to perfection every time. Medium actually means medium. The burger patties are hand shaped and the toppings are generous. Come for burger madness - which takes place on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - and you can choose any burger with unlimited toppings. If it's not burger madness, I typically order the Hyde Parker which includes avocado, bacon, and goat cheese which is an incredibly delicious combination. I'm a big fan of subbing their normal fries for sweet potato fries but you honestly can't go wrong - both are great! Another plus about Arthur's is they have $2 Miller Lites all the time. It's great place to watch a game, grab a drink, and eat a delicious, juicy burger! I love having this Cincinnati establishment in my backyard. read more

I have been to Arthurs more times than I can count with large groups, small groups, dine-in and take out and each time, this place delivers like a loyal best friend. First thing to know about Arthurs is Burger Madness on Sunday's, Monday's and Tuesday's. This is THE spot for a juicy, flavorful burger topped with all of the fixin's you could ever dream of.....for SO CHEAP. I also LOVE the Turkey Burger and Black Bean burger for those of you veg heads out there that need a meat alternative! I can always count on the salads being fresh and filling, and could honestly live on the buffalo chicken bite appetizer. They have a full bar and all of Cincinnati's local brews. Pro tip #1: Arthurs is one of the only places open later than 6-7pm on Sundays so if you're looking for a late(r) night bite to eat, go ahead and treat yo'self to Burger Madness! Oh, Arthur's, how I miss you. Vegans beware: The spicy black bean burger has cheese mixed right into it (and that wasn't noted on the menu, at least at the time we were there). I'd been loving this veggie burger. Then, during one trip when I asked for no cheese, the waiter informed me the burger has cheese right in the patty. What?! I've never heard of such things. That's a bad, bad move. Now you've just alienated a good portion of your vegetarians from one of the only vegetarian options on the entire menu! The wait staff is awesome. Arthur's is the quintessential neighborhood burger/bar. Burger madness on Sunday-Tuesday is probably the best burger deal in town. Tonight, I had the burger with banana peppers, jalapeños, bacon, cheddar AND provolone, WITH fries for $8.99. Whaaaaaaaaat? Family friendly enough at dinner time, there were multiple families with small children, a mixed work group, a girls night out and several couples in the dining room, and the quaint, cozy courtyard is a treat on pleasant nights. I'm going to keep piling on the love for this place. I finally had a chance to enjoy a great meal with friends on a surprisingly not so busy Friday night. The server Jessica was nice and worked hard to keep our drinks full and our food was served quickly. I had just come in from the cold, so I ordered a hot chocolate. It was warm and yummy, and only $2. I then had a Turkey Blackened Blue Burger ($9.75) and subbed a side salad ($1.75). Great flavor. I can't wait to come back for "Burger Madness". Ha ha! The food was terrible. The service was amazing don't get me wrong. They cooked my burger wrong and then took it back and replace everything but the egg and the bacon. Which that is a health code violation. The cheese wasn't melts. Food was kind of cold. Then we got a Ruben and there was a piece of hair in it. Which that is gross to me. Then we asked for some help and the lady completely ignored us. Then before we received our food the server on the left side was rolling with gloves and then touched the door and then touched someone's glass to fill. Our first meal out in our new neighborhood came quickly. We started unpacking boxes in our new house three Fridays ago, and the next day we made our way to Arthur's in Hyde Park Square. Friends of ours stopped by that afternoon for a tour of our place, one of whom was on her way back to Denver after a few month stint in Australia. After showing them around we made the quick walk up to the square for lunch. This was my first time heading into Arthur's but I quickly realized that this could be a popular spot for my wife and I. They have a solid beer list and a wide variety of sandwiches and salads to satisfy us for many visits. On this visit I went with the chicken salad croissant, a blend of white meat chicken, sliced water chestnuts, celery, snow peas, a touch of curry, and mayonnaise on a butter croissant with lettuce and tomato. I also upgraded my side to sweet potato fries with their curry ketchup. I was very happy with my choice and could easily eat this sandwich again. The croissant was very good and quite large. The chicken salad was great. I loved the touch of crunchiness from the various vegetables and the curry in the mix was a wonderful addition. The fries were good and the ketchup was a nice touch, though I would have liked even more of it. Arthur's specializes in burgers and a couple of people at our table verified their claim to a solid burger. My wife ordered the turkey burger "Santa Fe" style with freshly made roasted poblano relish and topped with pepper jack cheese, seasoned tortilla strips, sliced red onion, and chipotle mayonnaise. A friend of ours had the Arthur's burger and was also happy with his selection. I will definitely try the spicy black bean burger on a future visit, which I'm sure will be soon. read more

Would give zero stars if it was an option. The hostess made us wait an hour after telling us originally 30 minutes. She then asked us to sit at separate tables. We then asked if she could later move us to a six top when it opened and she said no. I was actually really pleasantly surprised by Arthur's. I happened to be in Hyde Park running errands one afternoon with my dad. I was starting to become hangry, and my dad (bless him), quickly suggested Arthur's. I had never heard of it before, and as we drove by, I was a little hesitant. It looked a bit like a hole in the wall, but once you enter, you're greeted by a bustling restaurant filled with warm and efficient staff. Although the place was hopping, we were seated right away. The menu offers a wide variety of very reasonably priced options. I decided to go with the fried fish sandwich with fries. (Super healthy, I know...) It was great! Sometimes the fish can end up greasy, but this fish was nice and light. Delicious! The service was great as well. I was dying of thirst, and our poor waitress refilled my glass three times within our first twenty minutes of sitting down. All in all, a great experience. I'll definitely be back. read more

Good and reliable! I can always count on Arthur's for when I'm craving a good burger. Being from Wisconsin, it's challenging for me to find a burger I approve of in the Cincinnati area. This is one of my favorites. The interior of the restaurant is not huge, but I have never had to wait more than ten minutes for a table. They have many different options as far as burgers go. I also love their potato skins. How could you not love melted cheese and bacon on potatoes? They also have some fun signature drinks to try which never hurts. I've always dined here with a group of about 6 and this is never an issue. It is helpful that they have many menu items, so even my picky friends can find something to enjoy. One cool thing about the interior is the large mural they have covering one of the walls. Arthur's has several things going for it: In nice weather, the vine-covered patio in the back is one of the more pleasant outdoor dining spots in the city. The main dining/bar area is unpretentiously comfortable as well. (The dated mural lining the entire wall across from the bar--circa early 1980s?--features caricatures of a bunch of local personalities whom I know nothing about, but it's pretty fascinating to look at.) I'm not a big fan of boutiquey, frou-frou Hyde Park Square, but Arthur's feels welcoming and egalitarian compared to most of its environment. Unfortunately, the kitchen too often goes off the rails, especially with the burgers. The menu's burger page prominently touts that Arthur's cooks burgers "to order" and even lists the range of various "orders," but this is a symbolic check that the kitchen almost never is able to cash. I order my burgers medium in places like this, just to be on the safe side, but I often receive juiceless, overcooked hockey pucks. One time I got one nearly tartare. Every now and then, though, the burgers can be top-notch. Much of the other fare on the menu is better than average for bar fare, but not by all that much. (As a measuring stick, Oakley Pub a mile or so away does a lot of this stuff quite a bit better, Habits Cafe probably a bit worse.) Beer list is pretty solid, the staff is competent and attentive enough, and service is pretty quick even when the place is crowded. Despite the flaws, we continue to go to Arthur's because most of the time it's a relatively inexpensive, comfortably casual, and hassle-free experience. UPDATE (12/12): We recently visited Arthur's for "Burger Madness" for the first time in a bunch of months. This was the best burger I'd had here: big, juicy, and properly cooked medium-rare with a nice sear, and it looks like they're griddling the buns, which is a plus. Fighting the crowd here can be madness at times as well, but I just visited last night and was able to get a table for five within twenty minutes which worked out perfectly. Arthur's casual character is largely defined by an awesome mural of Cincinnati notables on its north wall. You probably will not recognize 95% of the personalities as the mural is between 30-40 years old (judging by the overall style and the haircuts depicted in the mural). When the weather is pleasant Arthur's has a beautiful brick and ivy patio in the back. Last night I enjoyed the Grilled Gouda Cheese sandwich ($8.25) with Roasted Red Pepper instead of bacon. I was trying to go vegetarian for the evening and the sandwich was quite good, but I'm absolutely sure it would have been better with the bacon. I had no problem finishing the whole thing and all of the fries that came with it. If your friends are headed to Hyde Park and you want a relaxed atmosphere and a casual location Arthur's is a fantastic suggestion. read more

It was my first time being there, and it won't be my last. It was late on a Friday night which was a plus. it's hard to find decent non-fast food after 11pm. The service was great. Their back porch area is great, the food is always delicious and there's never a long wait when I go. I've been coming to Arthur's semi-regularly for about 5 or 6 years. They were one of the only places in town to carry Stella Artois about 3 years before anyone else had it. The place is small, almost always packed and has a great atmosphere. The mural on the wall opposite the bar always mesmerises me with the creepy charicatures. Looking for some late night grub, my friend and I went to Arthur's for burgers. I've heard the legends about this restaurant and was eager to try it out. Upon entering, I noticed a pungent smell of cleaners and wet mop. It was barely after midnight on the weekend and Arthur's is open until 2:00am. I wasn't sure why they were cleaning house early, but the stench filled up the entire restaurant. The menu was filled with tons of items: five pages of selections could suit just about any appetite. The full page of giant salads caught my eye, which I will have to return to sample for lunch one day. This night, I was in a mood for a burger and fries, and ordered the Gourmet: a beef patty with goat cheese, red peppers, spinach, and pesto mayo. It was a standard hand-pressed burger with the goat cheese carrying most of the flavor. For a $12.00 burger, I was expecting more. My friend had a Spicy Black Bean Burger with Arthur's infamous pink salsa (sour cream mix with salsa and tomato). She swears up and down by it being a fantastic vegetarian burger. The overall prices of Arthur's are higher than I'd expect, mainly because the restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall. There's no real theme going on here, like the kitschy signs and decor of Terry's Turf Club, or classic pub style of Habit's. There a yellowed dingy mural of celebrity charicatures that doesn't do much for the place.The food didn't warrant costing $12.00, and I was surprised to see some of the appetizers averaging around $8.00 (cheese sticks, nachos). Have been going to Arthur's Hyde park and Anderson for years now and have never been disappointed. My best friend in town from Atlanta and I chose the Hyde park location to meet with our families for lunch. She beat me by a good half hour and said she was still waiting for her prosecco. Took a little while for the waitress to come back and see my bf and I joined the table then took some time for my cucumber basil mule and his IBC root beer. All good, she was sweet, I'm a server myself and know things come up. My drink was amazing, I got vodka instead of gin and loved it. My friends sister in law got the tortilla soup.. absolutely astounding I can't wait to go back and get it myself. I got a grilled chicken sandwich cooked perfectly with fries and a side of buffalo. Nothing too special about the Cobb salad, your typical ingredients but all super fresh. We sat outside on the super relaxed patio, very clean bathrooms, and great draft options. My boyfriend got the burger (well done, ew lol) he said it was perfect for his and great size/quality. Overall great experience, maybe just need a food or bar runner on busier lunches.
