I love Arthurs Auto! Needed my A/C repaired on a 10 year old car, Adam worked with my needs concerning my A/C. Turns out it was a leaky hose that was no longer available because they discontinued my car model. But Adam was able to locate the part within a week then Storm Beryl happened and they took leave due to no power which was fine because we were in the same boat without power for a week. Anyway as soon as we were close to normal I took my car to have the A/C repaired. I then returned a couple weeks later to have my brakes replaced because I heard a weird noise while driving. Took to Arthurs Auto and within a couple hours Arthur called and said, "No, you don't need new brakes they were just really dirty and I cleaned them off and your cars ready". I love Arthurs Auto because they are that honest!!!! Instead of hundreds of dollars brakes were $73.00. Service is open only M-F the definitely earn the weekends off. read more

A/C went out while driving from Dallas to Houston, they agreed to let me come in just before close of business to recharge Freon. Very courteous, however they charged $140 labor plus the $30 Freon for 30 minutes of work and told me I had some other problem with my A/C. I agree I should be charged but $140 labor for 30 minutes seems excessive- not sure it was because they knew I was in a jam having to drive back to Dallas in triple digits without A/C but I feel a little miffed and won't recommend them. read more

I found Arthur's Auto Service from Nextdoor, which had high praise from a lot of people. I took my F-150 in because the A/C stopped working abruptly. The repair was simple and cheap, but Ford, nor any parts store, sold the specific part I needed by itself. Arthur took the time to brainstorm with me to come up with the best solution that would cost me the least amount of money but would be a permanent fix and not a band-aid job. Wherever I've lived, I've always wanted to have a good, independent auto mechanic I can trust. Arthur's is exactly that place for me in Houston. I've taken my vehicles there off and on for nearly 15 years and have always had good work done at a fair price. Too many auto service places will take any opportunity to gouge an unwitting customer, but you need not fear that happening here because he will always treat you right. For a most recent example I got a quote of $680 for replacing engine mounts on my vehicle from a repair shop near my office whom I have a favorable opinion of. But this quote just felt a bit high to me, so I called Arthur to make an appointment. (Since I live in Pearland now, his shop is no longer the most convenient, but I was able to make it work this time.) When I went to pick up my car, I was very pleased that he charged me well below half of the other quote and it was immediately evident to me that the problem was fixed. So if you're anywhere near the Meyerland area and need auto service, I will recommend Arthur's without hesitation. read more

I can't say enough about Arthur. He is excellent. I had a bad wheel bearing that needed replacing. He diagnosed the problem on a quick ride in my front seat, and then fixed the car and it back to me in less then a day. He then charged me LESS than he initially quoted. What char mechanic does that? I am happy, and a little surprised to find that there are still auto repair shops like Arthur's. My son recommended Arthur's to me because that's who had kept his old Mustang running long past its prime. Arthur's estimates are Usually lower than other shops that I've gone to for the same service. My fiance's parents have been customers of Arthur for 2 or 3 decades. I've been a customer for 9 years and have had my two Camrys, Lexus, and BMW X5 serviced there. Arthur's shop is always full of cars. He has always been able to fix whatever is wrong, correctly diagnosed problems unlike the "dealer", and did the work at a great price. I've had a quote from the Toyota "dealer" that was $3500 for a steering problem and had it fixed by Arthur for $315. The steering pump blew a seal and sprayed oil inside the engine compartment. The dealers mechanic said the alternator, steering pump, water pump, and CV joints needed replaced since they had oil leaking from them. Arthur cleaned the oil then ran the engine for half an hour to see what was leaking. Turned out to be just the steering pump which was replaced for $250 plus the part if I remember correctly. This was much better than the quote from Toyota!!! There are many other examples. Arthur is an honest mechanic. Glad my fiancé referred me to him. read more
