I Had Terrible Experience By Mayco Auto repair. I was…read moreReferred by a Friend to here, But that was my worst experience in mechanic shops I ever Had. That's unbelievable. I took my Truck there with Running engine for repair. I asked them estimate, they wanted me to wait for 1 Hour. After that they gave me estimate of $4500 for some repairs on the Truck. It looked expensive to me and I wanted to Try another mechanic to make sure I'm not being over charged. Guess what? They car was not Running any more. They opened many parts from engine. I asked the mechanic to put it back on, He was very Rude and said: NO, YOU NEED TO PAY AT LEAST 4-5 Hours Labor to me, (4x$120), Minimum $500 to put them back on. They never had my permission to take off parts from engine for Diagnostic. I asked Manager to Talk and the Manager was even Worst and Rude. He was forcing to charge me. They never put parts back and I Had to get Tow truck to take out my car because I was sure their plan is to just charge you, No matter what. I called Tow truck to come and take it to another mechanic. Finally they charge me $100 for Diagnosing fee and my car was Not running any more. I payed a lot to tow the car to different mechanics and No one touched the car because some else took parts out and cut the bolts off. A few weeks later any other mechanics recommended me to take it to the original shop who took the engine apart and ask the to put parts back and make engine running like it was originally for Diagnosing and repair. I went back to the shop and talked to the Manager Which still was so Rude. Asked Him to fix the Car With His original Estimate around $4500. Guess what? This time he said $6500 for same repair. What normal person or Owner Does that? That was unbelievable. I asked them to do at least for $5500 for same original estimate of $4500. Same work just because I left and had to come back. They knew it and it was part of their plan. The manager said No. You have to pay $6500, Nothing less. I asked him to put the parts back like originally and pay him the labor he wanted. He Said No. I told the Owner I will leave reviews and let other people know about it. He said Do it, I Don't Care about reviews. I had to leave because I was sure even if I pay them the $6500 they never fix it and then want $10,000. The whole car Doesn't worth more that $6000. Took my Grand Cherokee for the brakes, oil change and a check engine evap system problem. The brakes and oil were done on day one. They got the evap system fixed quickly and for a reasonable price. I have heard nightmare stories about the evap on Jeeps. Check engine goes away and the car got inspected. Great work!

Several days later my car was trailered to our home, with brakes fixed. BUT My credit card was charged twice for the service, on June 14th for $1659 and then again for $1659.06 (note the new 6 cents) on June 15th. Even though the first charge was well in excess of what BMW would charge I was happy to have had their help BUT the second charge was criminal and no one is willing to explain the situation or correct it. My CC company apparently was unable to do anything. I am considering going to small claims court.

Foster's charged only $1250 and has been the best service with the most hospitable owners I have ever met within this industry! Mike and Alan will tell you exactly what problems your cars are having and offer you options for your vehicle. I let them know I only plan to use my car for a couple more years as it's getting old and worn. Unlike other places that are sketchy and corporate owned, they offered me the best parts but even offered me cheaper options knowing my car's situation. They don't make as much profit off it but Alan and Mike aren't in the business to cheat you out of your money; they're in the business for their love of cars and to carry on the family business. They even gave me a ride back to my place and picked me up once my car was done. These guys can get your car in and out of the shop within a day, whatever the task may be. Don't get cheated out of your money by going to a corporate owned shop. Not that I'm against corporations, but it's undeniable that a corporation's goal is to make as much profit as possible. I have called and visited around Houston and Foster's has by far the lowest labor rate, which is why they're such a great deal. They give you an even lower labor rate when it's your first visit. Mike and Alan want the best for you and will only recommend things for your car if you actually need it, not to try to yank an extra dollar off you. I asked service advisor Cameron to give me a estimate on an engine replacement. Cameron quoted nearly $5000 for an engine with 84,000 miles on it. He said the warranty would be only six months. I said no, I can't accept the estimate and asked for my car on Friday (June 19, 2026). Cameron stated that he could not get my car out because there was 20 cars in the way and that he did not have the man power to move all those cars and that I would need to come back on Monday (June 22, 2026). When I received my car, I could not drive it because the steering was malfunctioned. Cameron looked at my car and stated that the power steering fluid was leaking out. I explained to Cameron that my car was not leaking power steering fluid when I brought the car to Foster's. I am convinced that Cameron INTENTIONALLY damaged my power steering. I have had my car since 2014 and have NEVER had a power steering leak until I picked my car up from Foster's. Cameron is neither an honest nor an honorable man. I will NEVER take my car to Foster's again.
