Pets Practice

We came upon this independantly owned vet surgery after having bad experiences with 2 other vets,…read moreand I'm so glad we did. We bought our first ever pet, a german shepherd puppy, and were panicked when we noticed a cyst between 2 of his fingers. We took him to a local vet and they spent 2 minutes looking at his paw and without even explaining or asking us, booked him for surgery the next day and injected him with painkillers and anti-biotics. Having felt that we were being taken for a ride we made an appointment with the pets practice for a second opinion. The nurses were helpful and polite, and a convenient appointment time was very easy to arrange as they open later than most vets. Our vet, Kylie, was really wonderful about everything. We told her our concerns, and she examined him, and told us professionally, but also kindly, what we did and didn't need to worry about. We also got to discuss some of our other concerns as first time pet owners, and she was very helpful. For example, she in the course of the appointment had noticed he had dry skin and that he was a slightly under weight and we may want to consider a different diet. We didn't feel pressured or guilted into doing anything, and she didn't just add things to the bill like the other vet, but I was happy that she took the initiative to notice and let us know. I think what annoyed me about the others is that they didn't respect their ethical and professional boundaries, and it was so in tune with the stories you hear about vet's being scam artists (there was an episode of panorama about it). At the end of everything she decided to prescribe a course of antibiotics, which seemed more sensible than cutting into him at the first oppurtunity like the other vet. Her manner with us and our puppy inspired our confidence in her. We did change the diet which not only adressed the skin and weight issue, but his distaste towards his food which we had noticed. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's convenient as it opens late, has parking, and is easy to get to. It's always clean and a nice environment. We decided to our dog to the puppy class was good, and it was nice to hear about advice and training directly from a vet, and it turns out that this is the only place with a vet-led training class in this area. Since then our poor puppy has a few medical issues, in each case the advice was always good, and we felt safe trusting them as we felt that they really did have our pet's best interest at heart.

They have declined dramatically in their patient care over the last 3 years I have taken my pets to…read morethem. And if you have an exotic animal I would avoid this vets. In December I was quoted £600 for an operation In two places on the guinea pig. I agreed to go ahead with the operation until the vet ( who since left the practice) called me to say we could half the operation as the biopsy was inconclusive. Four months later I went again as the most concerning lump had grown a little bigger and was causing her discomfort, only to be quoted close to £1000 for exactly the same operation. A price difference well beyond normal inflation. They conceded to charge the lower price for the operation without apology and the aftercare was not good. Although I did my best to clean the most major wound every day and to make sure her living place was as hygienic as possible, I was made to feel like I was the problem that she was chewing her scabs and causing herself ongoing bleeding. The vet who operated Jon her was absent much of the time so I saw a fear mongering locum which resulted in two emergency visits as the wound got worse to different gets because of the absence of the vet who operated on her. One time I drove to London because I was told no vet was at trinity and the more local vet would charge me as a new client. The one in London wouldn't. When the vet in London charged a new customer price and realised I'd been referred they suggested I ask for a compensation from Trinity. However the staff who had had that conversation over price had not told the truth about what they had said to me and the conversation conveys in the email was entirely different. They said the would contact the vet in London to say I was coming but I arrived there and was nearly turned away at the door as that vet knew nothing about me coming fortunately they had space to see me. This catalogue of failures by Trinity vets shows a marked decline in Thier service. They used to be excellent. And the dishonesty of the staff upset me the most. They used to have at least three exotic vets and now appear to only have one. Mark is good and your pet is in the best hands with him, but he is only one man and cannot see to urgent problem since they used to have about 3 exotic vets there but now only have one. When my pet finally saw Mark again. The wound which other gets around Kent had labelled a serious concern, turned out to not be a problem and there was a very simply solution to aid the healing. But as you can imagine. One exotic vet in the practice is not ideal. Furthermore they don't respond to emails in a timely manner so if you have worries about your animal they won't put your fears to rest. The way the gaslight the concerns of thier clients is abysmal. Vets avoided. I'm now looking for a new exotic vets in case of needing them for one of my other two pets....

Nuria was the first person I got in contact with and she was extremely kind, friendly, and always answered my questions in a timely manner throughout the entire process. Dr. Jose was the one to physically come to our house and not only was he also extremely kind, but my dogs absolutely loved him (and they usually are petrified of vets). He got on the floor to play with my dogs and gain their trust before doing any work. Dr. Cesar became like a friend throughout the entire process. I had a different case because my rabies and all my documentation came from the USA originally; however, there was an issue with the paperwork from the original USA vet. Dr. Cesar worked with me even during the weekend to help get this issue resolved with my original vet in order for my dogs to be able to travel. I was such a nervous wreck but Dr. Cesar did everything in his power and thanks to him and his team we are all now in the EU in our new home. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this team. They were amazing from the very first email all the way to the follow up from them to make sure we got to our new home safely. I only wish I had met them when we first arrived in London as I would have loved for them to have been our vet from the very beginning. Thank you so much to the entire Home Vets London team!!

Grove Lodge saw us within half an hour and immediately took him in for x-rays etc. The results were sent to a kitten consultant in west sussex, as they wanted an expert opinion (something to do with bone formation), and he called us a few hours later to let us know he fractured his pelvis. They were honestly so kind and took the time to explain how to look after him when we picked him up. We were even given a little pack containing all the info plus the bits and bobs we needed. The other time wasn't quite so dramatic but we needed their emergency services (they have a 24/7 animal hospital in Worthing). I called them on a sunday morning as the other scallywag hurt his tail.
