We were always very happy with wait times for appointments--they were often able to see us the same day for pressing matters. The knowledge and honesty of their vets was vast, and always appreciated. I highly recommend their Redhill and Reigate practices to anyone who loves their animals.

Grove Lodge have neutered, vaccinated and fixed them up when they've got themselves into trouble!! At all times the veterinarians have showed real care and compassion. Twice we have really needed them and they were so lovely both times. One morning we came down to find one of our boys in shock on the lounge floor, on a bank holiday weekend no less!! Grove Lodge saw us within half an hour and immediately took him in for x-rays etc. The results were sent to a kitten consultant in west sussex, as they wanted an expert opinion (something to do with bone formation), and he called us a few hours later to let us know he fractured his pelvis. They were honestly so kind and took the time to explain how to look after him when we picked him up. We were even given a little pack containing all the info plus the bits and bobs we needed. The other time wasn't quite so dramatic but we needed their emergency services (they have a 24/7 animal hospital in Worthing). I called them on a sunday morning as the other scallywag hurt his tail. They took a few details then a nurse called me back and he also sought the opinion of a doctor to rule out a broken tail over the phone...then they booked us an appointment for our local grove lodge the next day! So to sum it all up, they are all really friendly and show true kindness towards the pets and the humans too!! Excellent service, we're proud to have them as our vet.

We opted out of an operation for our dog (not because of money ) but the life he would or could possibly have after. since this they have not been interested and rude to my wife a few times over the phone. Our beloved dog passed away recently, we found out he had lung cancer after an x-ray done at a different surgery and he died a day later. Before that we went to St Francis 5 times in 10 days paid £275 in total (which I don't care at all), ended up with unnecessary pancreatitis treatment for the first week then found out it's not it, when a blood test is done a week later. Then a generic steroid treatment started which was luckily also helpful with his condition. He wasn't be able to breathe or walk properly which I've mentioned every time. Finally an x-ray was scheduled which he didn't live to see. That would be 16th day of our first visit there after his initial symptoms. I'm not saying they've caused this or his condition may be cured. But we could at least spend more quality time with our dog and spoil him with treats on his final days if we knew what he had earlier with a simple x-ray.

What…read moreyou expect is friendly reception, short waiting time, helpful and trustworthy doctors and a solution for your pet's problem if there's any. What your dog/cat/hamster etc. expect is a cruel 5 minutes in the waiting room with other terrified animals, a stranger who touches them like no owner would touch them, an occasional treat from that stranger and then a really quick and easy way out. The St Francis clinic offers you and your pet just that. I've heard about this place long before I actually visited it with my scary looking but soft like butter English Bullterrier, Liza. At least three friends PLUS my landlord suggested it as the best vet in town. The location is very central and easy to acces/find. The reception is small but the warm welcome is never missing. In the waiting area you can find the usual petfood packages, pet toys hanging from the wall and information leaflets about treatments, insurance and other useful stuff if you're an owner. We had an appointment, so the waiting was really short, about 5 minutes. Making an appointment was really easy via the phone, no unnecessary questions about my uncle's history with turtle diseases. The doctor we met with was really relaxed which is always important for doggies like Liza, who basically shits themselves on the way to the vet because somehow with somekind of sixth sense they know we're going there even before the owner does. Anyways, the doctor was really helpful and explained a lot, which I think is the least they can do since the consultation fees are way too high (think about 30-35 pounds every visit just for talking with a vet, and it's not just St Francis, other places are even more expensive!). The only thing he might have to consider improving is the actual syrange movement. I mean if you stare the mighty bullterrier/aligator in the eye, show them the syrange and try and stab them in the neck.. well, don't be surprised if the mighty bullterrier will show her teeth with a loud growl and you'll be jumping up on a ceiling trying to avoid the forced amputation of your arm. But to stay serious, I think a subtle, shot is workable too, I had vets before giving shots to my dog that I didn't even notice, not to mention the dog. Fortunately the shot was eventually given and arms stayed intact with their owners, the second try was near perfect. I can't remember much after the consultation since my dog was pulling me rather hard, she just wanted a quick way out. But I do know that this clinic is hard to beat in honesty, the amount of information given, the knowledge of the docs or the friendly atmosphere of the place. So do go there if you have to because they are taking the time to explain everything and anything to you and your dog will get his/her occasional treat as well.

They way they handled the euthanasia of our cat was nothing short of shocking. I have spoken to quite a few people in the area about this and we are not the only ones to have issues. I have tried to complain and ended up with an email after a month of waiting which basically ignored the majority of my concerns. I have registered my other cats with a different practice and I would urge everyone to do the same. Highcroft vets is ONLY INTERESTED IN TAKING YOUR MONEY. YOUR PETS WELFARE WILL BE SECOND TO THEM. After an hour of driving from London, the vets is easy to find and very quaint, welcoming and with ample parking. Andrew is extremely knowledgable and examined our bulldogs and neutered them. We mentioned some other symptoms to Andrew and he said he would take a look when they are sedated. We decided to keep them at the vets overnight (optional) and delighted to say that Andrew covered everything off answered all questions and is a genuinely wonderful gentleman/vet. Whilst cost was not the concern finding someone knowledgable was we were pleasantly surprised the bill was incredible value for money. The last time we went to a vet we got a £130 bill to diagnose a cold! Andrew and everyone there thank you for looking after our dogs and thank you for making it such a great experience.

Firstly I was left waiting for over an hour, everyone who was just walking in was being seen before me somehow. This then led to me having to get up and remind the receptionists I was there, to which I was then finally seen. No communication, no apology nothing. The vet was then extremely rude to me, including when I asked a question about all the different injections she was trying to force upon me and my cat. He was terrified, this was his first visit to this practice and she was so salesy it was incredibly uncomfortable and offputting. She then said 'what, you don't know what luekima is?!' To which I responded excuse me?? Yes I know what lukemia is I'm not stupid thank you. You are bombarding me with all these different products, wanting to inject my cat with all different things so I think I'm entitled to know what they are. I then refused due to her attitude (for someone who worked in sales for 6 years I'm not stupid I can see she was trying to get me to purchase as much as she could) not caring or considerate so not happening. Then the receptionist had no idea i was on the membership, so was trying going to charge me for non membership however I realised before she took payment... she wasn't rude herself and said the vet should have done this so this was clearly another mistake (maybe) of that vet.. but this receptionist was polite and got this sorted. Not a great first impression to say the least.  Then, I tried adding my other cat to the membership which was proving to be another disaster. I asked my membership be taken on the 21st as this is when I pay all my bills, to no surprise it was taken weeks before several times and then I get an email to say I've cancelled. I emailed and a nice girl said she would reinstate this, just to call in with the details. I called in the girl couldn't find anything and told me she would pass this to someone else as she couldnt do this?? Once again something simple made difficult. The conversation was very long winded and she kept asking irrelevant questions that she couldn't even help me with. I then said don't worry I do not wish to reinstate anything, this has all been a mess I shall be registering elsewhere. I have never had such trouble with a vets and so many people who are just unprofessional, cannot do simple things and have no clue how to speak with a customer. She had said she will leave it all, I told her to cancel the appointment on Thursday and send through the complaint procedure.  Now, I wake up this morning to an email saying you have reinstated my cats membership and will be taking payment in a couple days aswell as looking forward to seeing me Thursday...so you've decided to give yourself permission to reinstate a membership and take money from my account when I've cancelled. You've still not even included my other cat, and clearly the appointment was not cancelled. Of course I'm beyond unhappy at this point. I've called in to be instantly hung up on, then called again to speak with a girl who was incredibly rude, kept speaking over me, wasn't listening to what I was saying and kept going on about 'her role'... I explained you have set up a membership without my permission, infact worse because I specifically said NO and you have kept the appointment in place that I told you to cancel. What on earth is going on I don't know. I advised If anything leaves my bank I will be filing a charge back along with all correspondence of this. The girl then talks over me trying to end the call and surprise surprise hangs up on me again.  I then put in a complaint and he blamed me saying I traumatised the receptionist because I was angry she hung up on me and then spoke over me constantly when I was already angry at their use of my personal details to set up a membership I had very clearly cancelled after the traumatic experience I HAD Worst customer service ever dealt with and highly unprofessional and unpleasant place. They have an overnight stay facility which is really handy if your working late or away for the night. They also have puppy parties, weight reduction clinics (the thought of that is making me laugh) and senior pet clinics. Vets aren't the cheapest of organisations but when they're as friendly and helpful as these guys are, you don't feel like your being robbed at all!
