I had the best experience using Artelye. We were referred by our friend who had gotten work done with them. We were in the process of renovating our kitchen and Josh came and provided a very thoughtful and thorough consultation. We only knew the color we wanted. My husband and I are new to the whole kitchen redesigning scene so we wanted to use a professional who would provide us with recommendations based on the color we liked. He recommended the quarts counter and presented us with this beautiful grey and white countertop. We fell in love with it. After the consultation, a week later they took measurements for the counter and took photos to ensure that they weren't missing anything. After the measurements were taken, Josh mentioned that our older sink was not centered to the cabinets and that's a detail I would have never noticed. He showed us a new sink that would better fit our counter but wasn't pushy which I really appreciated. Once we choose the sink and finalized the counter top color, they came to install it. Don't use this company. They twist their words. Their reply to my review twists the facts. THEY provided bad measurements and admitted it in private. In tbeir response here they make it like it's on me. Plus their templater came with his pants falling down, showing more than I care to remember. Had to disinfect every surface. This is a nightmare. They say I get to keep the drawing, which I was forced to pay for. Why would I want a drawing associated with so much confusion (they first told me 70 sq ft then when I questioned it, said whoops it's really 54 sq ft. I bet some poor people just roll over and pay up for inflated measurements). The drawing is useless. Don't fall for their hype in advertising. read more

Apparently this is acceptable work from this company! Big gap between wall and granite. (See photo). They said (after already installed) that the wall bowed so nothing they could do. Well, when you measure you account for that! Also, tell us at some point before you just install it that there is an issue! Our kitchen install is also not level. Two phone messages so far and no return calls yet. I'm still hopeful they have some pride in their work and correct these issues. Update 5/16: Josh was very responsive and did seem to care about our issue. He offered several options to attempt to alleviate the gaps but ultimately we decided repairing the wall and not shaving the granite was the best solution. Artelye took my deposit, reserved my granite slab, then sold it to someone else. I picked out a slab for my kitchen countertops, my contractor placed a deposit, and a sticker with my name was put on the slab to reserve it for me. Three days after my kitchen was measured for cutting, I called for a status report and was told the owner of Artelye "had decided to sell my slab to another customer who needed it." No one called me, no one asked me, no one considered me. I was informed that I had to wait until more granite was ordered and go to the back of the line for cutting. This meant an added 10 days with no water in my kitchen. My sales representative was no help. As soon as the deposit was paid, I could not get in touch with her. She did not answer her phone, return my or my contractor's messages and was always "out of the office today." The front desk attendant became my main contact and he was very helpful, professional and responsive. Artelye has a good selection of product, but their sales force is weak and your deposit and "reserved" sticker mean nothing. I would not use this company again. read more

Second kitchen that we have had done within a year by Artelye. We had planned to downsize to a condo and things sort of happened much faster than we planned. We found a unit in Catonsville that was in a definite need of a remodel. This time we sprung for a little more of a pricey granite (even though we are still very happy with the granite in our present kitchen). We put in another kitchen from IKEA and had Artelye add the countertops. They were put in today and they look SPECTACULAR! We are uber pleased with how stunning they look in our 1000 square foot condo. The kitchen while smaller, was originally eat in. Since I do love to cook, we added cabinets and counter. The results were a very rich looking kitchen. I would (and HAVE) recommend(ed) Artelye to anyone. From start to finish, everyone is friendly and they do what it takes to make you happy. We live in NOVA and there are probably a hundred places to get counter tops. We went to at least a dozen, and every time we felt like we were at a used car lot, UNTIL we went to Artelye in MD and it was worth the drive! We worked with Hien and he is fantastic! He is super knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. We picked quartz for the kitchen and could have gone with a few different brands ie silestone, cambria, caesar, etc and he gave us the different prices which helped make our decision (we ended up going with silestone's calacatta gold). We also got some remnant pieces from their warehouse for bathrooms. And their warehouse is amazing! It's huge, well organized, and with super friendly and helpful employees everywhere. Finally, the measurements and installation were perfect. The whole process was seamless. I can't recommend them highly enough. Definitely the best (and least nerve wracking) experience I had while building my home. read more

First of all, I love my new granite countertops and I feel like I got a good price for the stone. The salesperson I worked with via email was friendly and made the transaction very quick and smooth, however, it turns out that it went a little too quickly, as nothing was properly explained to me. The installers arrived within the time window as promised, but were surprised that my laminate countertops and sink were still installed. I explained that I had no idea that these things needed to be removed/disconnected beforehand and I assumed they were included in the installation price, since it was never mentioned. After calling the main office, I agreed to have them remove the old tops for $250 (didn't really have any other choice.) The installers did a good job and everything looks good.... Except that they said they couldn't reconnect my faucet and garbage disposal because that's not included and that I needed to call a plumber. I couldn't understand why they couldn't reinstall what they uninstalled?! Well, I called two different plumbers to take a look and it is costing me another $600 to get the disposal hooked back up, plus we had to buy a new faucet ($200) to fit the deeper sink. Why wasn't I told any of this? The plumber said it's common for these countertop companies to install and "run away" without telling you how difficult it will be to reconnect/replace everything when the sink has changed. I was told none of this. Extremely disappointing. read more

I went and picked out the granite and they came to template and that process was fine. Then they scheduled an installation date which they canceled less than 24 hours prior to the installation. I had already scheduled the day off, etc. The next installation dates comes and they CANCEL AGAIN!!! Once again I had made arrangements, etc. So I reschedule for the next day. They call me stating they had chipped the granite when they were cutting it and did not have any more in stock. Additionally, there were no other colors there that I liked. I asked for a refund which they granted but are with holding $250 for the template fee when the reason why I am canceling is THEIR FAULT!!! I never would have order anything else and they never would have done a template. THEY BROKE MY PIECE OF GRANITE. Absolutely horrible experience and I want my $250 back. read more

Just had Artelye get the installation for a quartz countertop done last week. Aaron helped me with the estimate; he was very responsive during the entirety of the project. I wend down to their showroom to have a look at the options that were available for a quartz countertop. They really have a massive range of options. They did the templating very quickly. However, there was a slight issue with the countertop not fitting perfectly against the kitchen window so they had to take it back for adjustment. Although I had thought it would take them a good four or five days, they surprisingly came back two days later and finished the installation. The crew members were very efficient and din't leave any room for complaints. Every person at Artelye I dealt with were punctual, responsive and seemed to care about their customers. Overall, I am impressed and i look forward to hiring them again in the future. read more

The quartz vanity top this company installed looks good, don't get me wrong, but man were they difficult to work with. Ended up with this company after going through Home Depot, so Home Depot contracts out to them. Then after this company came to measure they pinged up with a bunch of new charges that we thought were already included in the quote. Including charging us for 2 sink cut outs (its a sink countertop, shouldn't one already be included by nature) and an extra $150 to carry it up the stairs (its a master bath, its by nature upstairs). Also with a promise to call a half an hour before they arrived, the installed called 1 hour before the window they gave us saying they were already at the house! Poor communication. STAY AWAY - A COMPLETE JOKE OF A COMPANY!!! We placed an order for our counter tops via home depot who contracts Artelye. What a disaster of a company from start to finish. 1- ORDER: our order is 6 weeks out and still not completed. why? - 1st they told us they never received the paperwork from HD. LIE #1 - we saw the confirmation of the paperwork sent by HD and dated. But this took about 3 weeks of back and forth. I spoke to a manager (Ryan) and he refused to apologize... actually he accused me of lying. Very classy. They finally sent the tech to do measurements. I was on site the whole time. 2- MEASUREMENTS and INSTALLATION #1: go through #1 all over again, another 3 weeks, but now its for measurements and install. When they finally showed up, to install they did not have the back-splashes!!! why? because RYAN said that I told the tech that we did not want back-splashes!!! WTH? We already paid for them, why would we have done that? He again called me a liar! 3- INSTALL #2: the back-splashes (4 total) were ALL CUT WRONG. Thank God the guys that came were different than before and they were able to correct 3 out of the 4. We just called again to speak to a manager to understand why the measurements were so wrong and when they would be back. NO MANAGER was available. I left Celia (manager) a voice mail and did not receive a call back. My wife called and Celia told her no one called them... MORE LIES 4- INSTALL #3 ... yet to happen... I didn't want to wait for it to happen before writing this and WARN others.... STAY AWAY and find a good reputable company.... if you use Artelye, your project has a low likelihood of being complete if at all. read more

We recently purchased a house and prior to moving in, wanted to make necessary updates throughout. We met with Josh and his team of trained professionals to discuss the design, select materials, and generate a work schedule to suit our needs. We had a great experience with Artelye from beginning to end. First day, they weren't too busy and they let our dog come into the warehouse with us. We browsed through the warehouse with a friendly girl. They were closing soon, but they didn't rush us. We got an estimated quote. The guys coming to measure canceled the appointment because it was snowing but they came out 2 days later and still honored the original promised install date. The install guys were quick & neat. One said he'd been with the company 8 yrs. They even brought their own vacuum. The counters look amazing. I appreciated their honesty in discounting the price from the original quote because we ended up getting a 13" ledge instead of a 20" ledge. I also appreciated that they showed us what hardware to get to support the ledge and didn't force us to buy it from them. My husband said they were always very responsive to phone & email. I wonder if the above review is real or written by Arteyle Granite. Arteyle has numerous websites that don't say Artelye on them anywhere. So watch you don't trip over one of their hidden websites. Let me be clear that this is the only review I have ever written about a company. I never had the time to write or a very good reason. I would just like to briefly describe my experience with Arteyle as one of the worst consumer experiences in my life. And when I went back to complain twice, I was met by Josh. In the other review it states that Josh is the owner. When I met with Josh I asked to see the owner to describe my issue and he said the owner was unavailable twice. He was very clear that he was not the owner. I can get into a long explanation why I am unhappy with Artelye and you would have to weigh who was right and who was wrong so I'll leave it to the facts. I'll leave you with this. I checked the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and tArtelye Granite had four other complaints open at that time. Mine would make five. And the message next to each complaint was "no response from company. So I'm not the only one with and issue. I did check other granite companies and almost every one was complaint-less. My recommendation is to move on to another granite company and save yourself the hassle and your money. Can you believe I can't give zero stars on yelp? read more

Nightmare. Ordered my granite counter top from Artelye through Home Depot. The company did not show or call on the day of installation. When rescheduled the counter top was installed with a visible seem and gap between the wall and the edge of the counter. Zero customer service from Artelye and from Home Depot. The slab Of granite I loved was smaller than normal, Suzanne worked with the supplier to find a larger slab with the same characteristics I wanted so as to have enough to complete my countertops. On the day of the install a problem was discovered with the granite around my farmhouse sink, Janet was not only remained calm and very professional but she managed to have the installer return that piece to the fabricators, get the work done and have an installer work over his normal workday to get my install completed the very next day. Now, that's exemplary customer service! Beside all of that, the installers were true professionals, knew their craft and did an awesome job! I am one very satisfied customer. read more

Worst sales department ever. We picked out a piece of granite and put it on hold. We subsequently visited again a month later to match tile. When our contractor asked about granite they said they had sold it since they could only hold it for seven days. We were there three times and they never said this to us. Our contractor, who had worked with them in the past said he had also never heard of this rule. Coincidently every time we came, a different salesman said someone else wanted our piece of granite. I guess that someone else got that piece for a few extra bucks. We certainly would not recommend doing business with these people. Our contractor also will not be using them in the future. read more

My husband and I got our kitchen renovated in March, in our house that is over 40 years old. We stopped at a lot of countertop stores to check out the stones. Artelye was also one of the shops we stopped at and it turned out to be the sweet spot between quality and cost for us. We met Aaron who helped us select a granite slab for our kitchen. After spending nearly 2 hours inspecting the stones, we finalized Baltic Brown Granite. While there were some minor issues we had to deal with during the remodeling process, the overall experience was great. Artelye provided a great customer service and resolved all the issues without any hesitation. The work completed by Artelye team really speaks for itself. After the renovation, our kitchen now looks very modern and sophisticated. I am definitely going back to Artelye for any similar project in the future. read more

Wow, what a clown act. We walked into Home Depot in October and it has been a tour of incompetence ever since. We're being told March but they can't even promise that. No updates from HD or Artelye ever issue voluntarily, only when we chase them around and demand one. Artelye points at HD and HD points at them or both point at some third party (or us!) and no one ever takes ownership or seems to give a crap. We're told the product is worth the trouble but that's probably asking way too much. Google reviews say the same thing. Wish we'd seen those before we paid (which they processed with great efficiency and professionalism). I don't knock companies easily but you can't continue to treat people like this and expect no repercussions. If the HD relationship keeps leading to these outcomes then Artelye should have the sense to end it. read more

We ordered silestone quartz countertops through Whitemarsh Home Depot 8-22-15. Measurements were taken 8-31-15. Countertops were installed 9-15-15. There are several installation issue. First, I would like to say the installers were very nice, but not detail oriented enough to install everything properly. Here are the problems: 1. The sink is not centered left to right in the sink base. 2. The undermount sink reveal is almost flush in the back and deeper on the other 3 sides. 3. There is a gap between the sink and the countertop which was not sealled with silicon caulk. 4. The sink countertop extends past the wall of an adjacent room with which it should be flush. 5. The slab next to my range is too long and may be contributing to issues 1 & 4. 6. The slab next to my range has an odd edge and finish on the front corner 7. The slab next to my refridgerator panel is notched at the front corner, which causes a gap betweent the panel, base cabinet, and countertop. There should not be a notch, the end of the slab should be straight. The edge and finish are odd on this corner as well. 8. The caulking along the back of the sink slab has gaps, which would leak water into the base cabinets. Installing countertops requires meticulous attention to detail in measurement, fabrication, and installation. I believe mistakes in all three of these areas are contributing to these issues and it is not acceptable. I contacted Whitemarsh Home Depot with a detailed email with pictures 9-16-15 and left two voicemails. They have not responded at all. I contacted Artelye with a call to Ms. Brown and a detailed email with pictures 9-16-15. I have not heard back from Artelye. I hope the situation can be resolved promptly and properly. I will report back. Edit: They came back out and fixed most of the issues I listed above. One of installer severely dented my brand new cabinet door. The sink is still not quite centered in the opening, which I am baffled how you can mess it up. All you have to do is measure and mark the center of all 4 side of the opening and all 4 sides of the sink. They just don't do it. Overall, I am satisfied. The pricing is very good, however, the quality control and craftsmanship are lacking. Be prepared for a few appointments to get things right. read more

I will start by saying this, they are liars, do not care at all about their customers and they will not stand by their crappy work. We had a minor chip on our counter top and our builder recommended these crooks to us, the guy comes in and says that he can and will fix it. So, I left him alone and when he was done, I pointed out that the counter wasn't smooth at all. He then proceeded to sand the area and kept on for a good while, so I asked him to stop. He of course didn't speak English so tells me to use a translator on his phone. I called my husband right away so that he could be part of the situation and to feel the area. The guy stood there and with barely any English at all, said he could fix it. I of course said no because he was sanding our counter away and leaving marks on top. He kept on saying that he'd fix it, so I decided to call someone at their company that would hopefully understand the situation better and could tell the guy how to fix it. Well, Martin, the person we spoke with, turned out to be a complete jerk. We tried to explain to him what was going on and he immediately got defensive and told us that they do this work all the time and never get any complaints. I offered for him to come and look at the area himself but he asked that we send pictures instead. I explained that pictures won't show how it feels but obliged and sent pictures and a recap of what happened. Four days later after not hearing any reply I inquired as to the status and he replied and told us that he was still gathering the facts from all the "concerned parties", which simply put was us and the technician. He also told us that his initial findings didn't correlate with our story, in other words he called us liars. We replied and explained that not only were we not lying but that he was still welcome to come inspect the work himself. We did explain that we were disappointed that he was calling us liars and that ultimately we weren't looking for anything free or further discounted but that we just wanted it completed satisfactorily. He replied to this by sending another email stating that we were contentious and that they do this sort of work every day and never have any complaints so they wouldn't be coming out to fix the issue. He also pointed out that we had asked his technician to repair some other spots that we had not previously discussed. While we did ask the technician to look at them we didn't expect him to fix them and if he had we fully expected the initial quote to increase as the scope of the work had. In the end he accused us of abusing their hospitality and said that since we hadn't paid the initial quote that they wouldn't be returning. The best part of this is, the reason we didn't pay the initial quote, besides the fact that the work wasn't done satisfactorily, was because the technician got on the phone, spoke with someone in another language WHILE WE WERE ON THE PHONE with Martin trying to work things out and then grabbed his stuff and left. He literally walked out and drove away while we were on the phone trying to work things out. So do business with them if you want, but don't say you weren't warned. This is a company that accused us of lying but wasn't willing to come look at what they say we are lying about. read more

I can't remember why I selected Arteyle but I was not only unimpressed but my wallet was much lighter for work that wasn't performed properly. I had contracted with Artelye to do my kitchen and it should have been a breeze but it didn't work as planned. The company installed a lower grade granite that was thinner than standard and off color. I had selected a slab and they changed the slabs around so I had a lower quality slab. I called into Artelye but nobody would respond back. I also wrote to the company via Josh and no response once again. The job and quality was so bad that I had to have it torn out and done again by another company. It's my house and I expect a quality product and not to be ignored by the entire company after a granite installation. My pockets are now thousands of dollars lighter by selecting the wrong company. read more

We purchased Quartz countertops from Home Depot and Artelye installed them. The woman, Suzanne, who did all the coordinating was great. She was nice, pleasant and always willing to answer any questions. We had our countertops measured and installed without a problem. The person who came to measure informed my husband that he needed to re-level some cabinets in order not to have a problem. The people that came to install the cabinets were great also - fast, pleasant, etc. We did have one problem - the person who measured didn't take into account our actual stove measurements and just did a basic stove cut out. Our slide in didn't slide all the way back as a result. It was the Friday before Memorial Day when we realized the problem and when I called Suzanne was out and I left a message. Immediately, the day she returned to the office, she called me that morning, and had someone out that afternoon to re-cut the countertop. He did a great job. We have dealt with multiple places in our kitchen remodel for cabinet purchases and appliance purchases. The cabinets and appliance companies have been an absolute nightmare. It was nice to finally have a good company come do our countertops. I would highly recommend Artelye! read more

We ordered countertops through Home Depot. We did not receive a call within 48 hours like we were told would happen. Finally after 4 days my husband called Home Depot and 20 minutes later I received a call from the company to schedule the measurement. This was a long process since there were no open appointments for 6 day and we were going out of town. The services rep told me I should have contacted them instead of waiting for them to call me since there is no guarantee they will contact me in 48 hours. When I informed them I spoke with their countertop rep when in home depot, they changed their attitude and scheduled me immediately. The information the rep provided me was they would be contacting me within 48 hours. They were suppose to send me info about ordering a sink. I never received it and a week later I found out it was sent to an address addressed at Yahooo.com and they were having computer issues and it wasn't their problem. They also sent the measurements and quote to the yahooo.com address as well. This was very confusing since my correct email was on the paperwork sent to them and I confirmed it with the rep at Artelye I was working with on the phone. After contacting their customer service representative they continued to state that their company was not at any fault. The only person that has been helpful in the process is the Home Depot rep. Artelye Marble and Granite's customer service is deplorable and they are completely unorganized. read more

I went to Artelye originally because they were open on Saturday. I was taken in the back and shown all the granite and quartz slabs available --much better than just seeing small pieces. I placed the order, the measurements were taken at home with a laser device, I was able to review the design before it was cut, the installers came precisely when scheduled and it came out perfect. All's well that ends well. My experience with Artelye started off great, hit a snag, and ended with me being a happy, satisfied customer. 5 years ago, I had a kitchen installed by Artelye. They did a wonderful job, and when I needed granite countertops for another project, I choose them again. This time around, we hit a snag in the installation. The color of the granite was different than the sample provided (I learned that even if you are not explicitly asked, make sure you insist on picking out the actual slab of granite that will be installed in your kitchen!). Also the install team was not quite as detail oriented and friendly as with my original install. I met with Josh (the owner), who made it clear that he wanted to "make it right". He personally escorted my mother and me through his warehouse, where we picked out new granite for our job. One week later, I had brand new granite countertops installed (perfect color, and perfect install)! I was very impressed with Josh's willingness to make sure that we left satisfied customers. I was also impressed with the level of communication that we received. Artelye's SOP is to email you the day before to remind you of your installation appointment (standard 3 hour window), and then call you the day of when the installation team is 30 minutes away. On top of this, Josh personally called me the day after the installation of make sure that I was happy with the final product. I would definitely use Artelye again, and would recommend them to others as well. read more

We had this company come to our house to install granite countertops in our kitchen. Unfortunately from the moment they started working to the moment we spoke to the manager Kurt our ENTIRE experience was a severe disappointment. It started with the site inspection. The person that came over to take measurements did not measure the height of the cooktop. The granite is not as tall as our old countertops. So, obviously the cooktop will not fit correctly. We had also agreed in the contract to have a 4 inch backsplash. It turns out with out our approval a 4 1/4 inch backsplash was installed. We should have been told that there would be an issue with our cooktop fitting into our slot. I spoke to our sales rep Janet and a manager Kurt. Janet was extremely rude over the phone and I was not happy with her customer service or her effort to try and resolve the problem. I then spoke to the manager Kurt who came to our house to look at the issue. Kurt basically said it is our responsibility to know the dimensions of the cooktop and the countertop. So what is the point of having a site inspection if we have to measure everything ourselves? They basically said there is nothing they can do and they were not willing to help us resolve the problem. This shows poor customer service. Also, they did not abide by the contract. The contract stated 4" backsplash and they installed a 4 1/4" without consulting us. Then once the granite was installed they did not caulk the top backsplash against the wall. So, there is am uneven gap around the kitchen for food and debris to get into. Additionally they did not cut the granite outside. They cut it inside and did not close off the kitchen. So, as a result, the granite dust COVERED the entire first floor of the house. They also did not clean up their dust very well in the kitchen. After speaking to Janet and Kurt, I found that this company does not care about their customers and they just want their money and move on to the next. Also, we were told when we purchased the countertop that it would be 8-10 days. We did not have our countertops put in till about a month after we purchased it. I purchased the countertops through Home Depot and were installed by Artelye. From the beginning of the process with the measurement and installation, I knew that I will not be satisfied with this company at all!!! I should have read all the reviews and ask Home Depot to refer us to a different company!!! When Artelye cantacted me, they didn't have any appointments slots open in August to install our counter tops, so we end up waiting for 2 weeks! Yesterday, 9/13/17, they were supposed to deliver the counter tops between 3-5 pm. No phone calls to confirm the appointment time! At 3:30 pm I called the company number and asked them if they will show up on time. Mr. Robinson said that I will received a call with 30 minutes before they arrive: well, I got a call at 5:45 pm and the guy on the phone was rude and had a big attitude, when I asked him, why he did not call me in the time frame that he was supposed to call and informed me that he will be late and apologize for the delay. When the installers show up, the edge of the counters were different from the model that we order through Home Depot and when we asked about it, they had again a big attitude, rude and in a big rush to leave the house. Also, the installer did not hook up my dishwasher, complaining that it is too high and needs to be adjusted! I called the company first thing in the morning, asking to speak with a manager and I was "brushed off" by the secretary that somebody will call me back when they will be available, because they are in a meeting. I request again for somebody to call back before noon and with a rude tone of voice the secretary "brushed me off " again, that I will be called back when they will have time!!! This is what you call "customer service"!!! I will up-date you later how this "drama" will end and if I will drop one or both starts!
