Another Granite Discounter project, another success, this time they even did the cabinets, the result: astonishing !

    granite and glass tile backsplash

From start to finish, our job was done perfectly! Farzad was great helping us make decisions on the granite, sink, faucet and hearth. Navid did a magnificent job of installing the backsplash tile. Took him an entire day (with help!) for our little kitchen, but the work is outstanding. Our new hearth looks amazing too. Speedy service, great price and wonderful company to work with.

They did a fantastic job. Customer service was great. Selection was great. They worked with me on the price. Most importantly they did it all, counters, sinks, backsplash, faucets, just made the whole process easy. I had a stacked stone which not many people get and the installers had to outline every electrical outlet with molding which took forever but that's what had to be done. Looks great.

The "marking" of our original slab

Buyer beware. This place says they are low cost but they are also low on quality and professionalism. After picking a slab there an employee, Heather, marked the cuts using only a tape measure and a white paint sharpie. She took no notes or accurate measurements when estimating the cuts. She assured us we would get the chance to go over cuts again after one of their employees took measurements of our kitchen. We set a date and time of 10am to go over cuts one more time and finish paying after measurements were taken. The man who measured at our house used only a tape measure and piece of paper as tools. When I tried to ask him questions and give him direction on what we wanted he did not seem to understand because he was not fluent in English. After he left I felt very uneasy about the entire event. Like we agreed with Heather I arrived at 10am the next day, the time the business opens. The door was locked so I knocked and then called-when no answer. The voicemail picked up repeatedly. I then waited in my car for another 15 mins when Sherry, a different employee, arrived. Sherry let me inside just to have to wait longer for heather who she said was running late. While waiting we learned that our slab had not been brought inside as Heather said it would be so that we could go over cuts a final time. It was sitting outside in the snow under other slabs. Heather had also told us they would not do Saturday installs but we learned the company did do Saturday installs. We also confirmed the company offered free sinks with every job. Heather had added an extra $100 to our bill for a sink. We called to discuss this with the owner since Heather had still not arrived and he confirmed everything and told us we would get a Saturday install and free sink. Heather finally arrived 1 hour late. Sherry told Heather everything the owner said. Heather said we had "ambushed her." She also threatened to charge us $400 more on the granite if we got the free sink deal and stated she wasn't sure they could do a Saturday install and would check on it. I told her to get the owner on the phone. She then left and when she came back she put him on speaker where again he agreed on Saturday but was now charging $50 for the sink. Several days later the owner called and stated that our slab's lot had "fissures" and would likely break if cut. We went to MSI warehouse to pick out a new slab. At MSI I was told by an employee that they had my color and were still selling the exact lot my slab came from that the owner had told us was damaged. The employee stated if "fissures" were an issue with a lot they wouldn't be selling that lot still and they would have been notified. I called the owner of granite discounter to let him know we did not wish to continue our contract and he stated he would terminate my contract and refunded my money. I went to a different granite company after we picked a new slab at MSI. The new company measured with a tripod laser, easily matched the price which granite discounters had made us fight to get them to offer, and used a CAD computer system to send me pictures of the cuts of my slab so I knew exactly the layout of my granite. From first contact to install it was less than two weeks. We had wasted about a month with granite discounters. Check out AGS Advanced Granite Solutions if you want actual quality and professionalism along with reasonable prices.

Kitchen install, Shadow Grey quartz and granite kitchen island (note: different company did the subway tile backsplash).

The customer service, finished product, and overall experience with Granite Discounter was excellent. I have a new home, and in order to save money I did upgrades after the fact, so I was especially nervous about people coming in and working in the new place, and wanted to make sure everything [including the new cabinets] were kept in perfect condition. I did my homework and got probably 10 different quotes of granite and quartz suppliers in the area. I sent Granite Discounters the rough measurements, and they responded promptly with a quote. Next, I visited the location, and took a look at their inventory. I worked directly with Farzad, and explained our budget, and the look we were going for. I originally wanted a "super white" which was in the top pricing tier, and very expensive. Farzad helped me work within my budget and find a granite that was very similar [I actually ended up liking it better!] and a contrasting quartz in Shadow Grey. I was very strict on price, and honestly I am a tough customer and have high expectations. We selected our stone, and Farzad was incredibly patient with all my last minute changes [I could not decide on island size]. He came by personally to take the measurements and make a template of our countertops. Once it was ready for install time, we had decided to do our master bath, powder room, guest bath, and kitchen. The install crew was great, they were very careful removing the existing counters, and careful navigating the stairs with the heavy stone. Overall, I am really happy with the finished product and customer service. You can tell Farzad is really involved and has a vested interest in delivering a great finished product. He was friendly and offered advice when asked, but he was also not pushy and let me take my time when I needed it. Great company, great people, and great results.

The staff and their team were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. The senior design consultant and manger, Brian was very professional , his recommendations were great, and extremely thoughtful. The production manger Angel, was absolutely fantastic and patient, always answering my calls promptly and attentive throughout the process. The stone company and their team were also outstanding. What should have been an exciting project has turned into an 18-month ordeal with no end in sight. This experience has been plagued by poor communication, poor project management, and incompetent craftsmanship. The project has taken far longer than quoted, and some of the finished work is so poor that it resembles a DIY job--most notably the installation of our patio door and beverage refrigerator. While some cabinets are acceptable, many arrived defective (cracked paint, loose supports, unfinished details), and others were incorrect or never delivered. It became clear that the initial plans were not properly reviewed, resulting in incorrect material orders. We have had to consistently push to get any work completed and repeatedly demand fixes for issues that should have been done the first time correctly. The project manager was largely uncommunicative, deadlines were missed, and there was little evidence of proper oversight. To be fair, the workers on-site were polite. However, the lack of leadership, coordination, and accountability from management made this a frustrating and exhausting experience. After 18 months, we still do not have a functional kitchen. We have been forced to rely on a microwave, air fryer, toaster oven, and frequent dining out. Outstanding issues include: * Missing and uninstalled cabinets (including refrigerator enclosure) * Incorrect and poorly fitting molding * Damaged quartz (including dulling from acetone use and unremovable smudges) * Incomplete drywall, painting, and ceiling repairs * Pantry shelving not installed * Misaligned patio door that does not open properly * Hardware (handles/pulls) never installed This has been a constant battle to get corrections made. Poor communication, missed deadlines, and low-quality workmanship have defined this experience. We cannot recommend VKB or their cabinet vendor. Do not trust them with your remodel.

I had selected a very specific piece of marble for my island countertop, and specified both verbally and in writing at least a dozen times that I wanted that particular piece with its unique veining. I paid quite a bit more than I was initially planning for counters because I fell in love with this specific slab - it was going to be the most unique and beautiful feature of the house and I felt that it was worth it. Despite EXTENSIVE communication from me and the designer (and multiple assurances that the desired section was being reserved), I found out a few days before scheduled installation that they had cut up that section to use elsewhere. After speaking to the manager Cindy, I got a corporate scripted apology and what sounds like questionable retroactive CYA-type nonsense about that section having a scratch that would have rendered it unusable. There was no scratch when I saw the marble in person, or in any of the photos that I took when I visited. Possible that it occurred later, but I was being reassured for WEEKS that the piece I wanted was reserved, and only found out it was gone days before the installation. I was crushed - I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. In addition to this, they accidentally released my marble slabs back into inventory at one point (I only found out because I randomly went to visit, otherwise they could have been sold without me ever knowing). There's no communication between team members, the senior people work remotely and clearly couldn't care less. Do yourself a favor and purchase from a business that actually has functional lines of communication and can accommodate simple and straightforward requests.

We ended up with a Cambria quartz that is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! The installation also went perfect. Our island is fairly large so in order to get the entire slab in the house (in one piece) it required 4 installers. Also we kept our existing backsplash which required them to be extra careful in removing the old quartz and also required a little shimmying of the new quartz to fit it just right. It was a GREAT experience all around and I would highly recommend CGM!!
