If you're looking for a plain old floor, this ain't your place, although I'm sure they do "plain old floors" too. These folks are true artists in every sense. Just incredible. I cannot say enough good things about Tina, Anna and Dylan or the spectacular job they did on our art studio. With little fanfare, they gave us precisely what we asked for in terms of design and material options. In this day and age it is so incredibly rare to find absolutely nothing wrong with a job or the timeliness of the work. Unprofessional & Incomplete Work -- Not Recommended We hired this company for a 3-day countertop resurfacing project at our rental property. Despite multiple extensions, the job was never completed. Delays were entirely due to poor time management--not outside factors. The work was subpar: sharp, lifting edges, incorrect materials, and damage to both counters and cabinets. When we raised concerns, the company denied and minimized the issues while still demanding full payment. A licensed professional confirmed the work compromised the structural integrity, forcing us to hire a new contractor to redo everything. Communication was poor, deadlines were missed, and excuses replaced accountability. This is now a legal matter. We've requested a full refund and cannot recommend this company. Use extreme caution. Tina was very friendly and responsive throughout the project but the quality of her team's work and the end product were disappointing. The new floors were not level, there were significant defects (bubbles, wrinkling, bumpy texture), and a 2 ft. hairline crack appeared within the first 2 weeks. Two of the defects (wrinkles in the floor at the entrances to one bedroom) I asked her team to leave as-is since I was concerned trying to fix them would make them more noticeable. They tried to fix them anyway and now they're much more obvious. During the design phase Tina and I both agreed there were significant challenges with my project and she assured me her team could handle them in a way that I would like, but they weren't able to deliver. If there is anything unusual or unique about your flooring needs I would recommend another company. read more

I've worked with Tina before and she was aware of how particular I am so she was aware of my expectations. I will not tolerate poor quality workmanship for any job that I pay for. We had a very lengthy conversation on the job site about what I wanted and she agreed and said she could provide the desired look. So her claims that she walked onto a job site that was not what she expected is utterly false. I judged Tina's work from pictures and never verified the quality of her work w other customers so I will take that responsibility on myself. I've since learned that lighting and angles can hide serious flaws and make poor quality work look good. I wouldn't have had to ask her guys to add color or address issues if she was on site. I signed the contract with Tina, not her son or her subs. Dylan was not always on-site as she claimed. I should know, I was there quite often checking on the status of work. Anyone can claim to be an artist. Just because you claim to be an artist doesn't make you one and it doesn't mean you can manifest a product that is appealing. It lends no credence to your level of mastery or proficiency. I have attached pictures of the type of "artistry"work they do and what she calls "not-picking". The carpet was just loose layers on the floor to pass inspection. There was no tack strips down anywhere. The carpet was removed in about 2 hours. The trim work/quarter round took about 15 minutes to remove because it's just in the kitchen so the claim that those items took three days is false but this is what Tina does. Tina also knew the baseboards wouldn't be removed and said it wasn't an issue that they would work around it. Every single inch of my baseboards received damage either physically or visually. You would think that someone that's claims to be an artist would be more cognizant of their environment especially when they claim to have years of experience. Also the "natural patterns" that Tina claims are actually due to poor quality work. I've never seen hard, angular lines in any stained concrete which has been verified by many other reputable companies that I've had to consult with. Oddly enough, many people know Tina or even used to work for her. She is not respected by her peers and the quality of her work is regarded as novice at best. The temperatures dropped numerous times during the job which caused significant delays in curing of the product which also meant that I had to keep pushing back all the deliveries I had scheduled however I just took it in stride. No one can control the weather and for the amount of money I was paying I wasn't going to rush the work being done. And I didn't have to be moved out of my other house so there was no pressure. The claim that Tina proceeded in good faith is also not true. She told me that she would file a lien on my house if I didn't pay her more money ..and this was before she was even finished! If that's not extortion I don't know what is. The "Sheetrock mud" on the back patio or "other trade spills" should not have have prevented the concrete from taking stain if the concrete were cleaned and prepared properly but then again Tina takes no responsibility for her workers or their results. I did not approve the work and I addressed it with her and she said she could fix it if I paid her more money! To say I'm obsessed speaks volumes about Tina and her "artistry" Tina's claim that I loved the work is greatly exaggerated. To imply or say that I'm unreasonable is Tina's way of not taking responsibility for poor quality work. I was completely realistic in what I was expecting as I discussed it at length w Tina and even went over photos. In none of those photos were there any hard angular lines. All stained concrete that I've seen has always flows from room to room and didn't have hard straight lines in it which is what happened w my floors. I'm sure that many other people are happy w Tina's work and that's great, I'm happy for them. We will see how happy they are in a few years when the chemicals start to break down and the work has to be redone. read more

I highly recommend talking to Tina and her team if you are thinking about concrete floors, metallic epoxy, or anything like that. The floor she gave me is unique and beautiful--the sort of thing you notice as soon as you walk in the room. A layered, shimmering combination of silver as well as warmer tones, cool "minnows" and other varied features, all on top of a dark canvas that peaks through for effect in a few spots Not only did Tina and her team do a great job, but they helped demo the defective work of a previous contractor. I had initially gone with another contractor, and the job failed: it was cracked and delaminating from the base slab within a week, it had a lot of white outgassing bubble spots that looked like zits, and overall the texture was not great. That initial contractor told me that it was due to moisture in my slab, and was going to charge me more to fix it. I talked to a few other people, and did not have clarity on how to fix it. But as soon as Tina showed up, it was like a breath of fresh air. She knew exactly what to do, and was excited about the work. She clearly demonstrated why the other contractor's work failed, and that I didn't actually have a moisture issue in my slab after all. And in a weird way, I'm happy the first contractor's job failed, because what I ended up getting from Tina turned out so much cooler in the end. read more

I contacted several concrete staining companies based on reviews from Yelp. Due to scheduling issues, price, and or just some funky ass reviews I decided to go with Tina and Artcrete Designs. Tina also had a few questionable reviews that I absolutely asked her about. While there are always two sides to every story Tina actually showed me finished product pics of some of the recent complaints. I felt a lot more comfortable and reassured about the quality of work that was about to take place. Tina was by no means the least expensive bid and actually a bit on the higher side. Another main reason I went with this company was the length of time they've been in business.... not a fly by night crew for sure. We're in the middle of a home renovation / addition, typical Austin 1960's home, we already had stained concrete floors but added another 1k sqft. of new concrete. Our plan was to rent the equipment needed to remove the old stain and take the old and new concrete to a polished finish. However, with the state of things in the country the equipment / supplies need for this DIY project just were not available. Being at a point where our builder was ready to start drywall we needed to get the floors finished and covered to keep our project on schedule. Tina was able to get out to our house the day I contacted her and provided a bid within out budget and was able to schedule us immediately. We had Tina and her team come out to our retail clothing store to show us some options for a concrete overlay and decided to go with a nice milky white slick finish. We are getting rave reviews from our customers. They love the reflective surface that the white provides and it has really done wonders to make our space look larger. Tina came out and gave us a quote for staining our front and back patio. She said she was leaving town and her son Dylan would be the point of contact. After getting into the job, there was a big blotch that seemed to not take any of the color. Dylan worked to do something different in this area so that the stain would take. A little delayed with 3-4 days of rain, but as soon as the sun came out, they were back to finish the job. They taped and papered the foundation and pillars to avoid any over spray. When the job was completed, they cleaned up any left behind debris. I would use this company again. One day I will have my whole driveway done, and I will call them back to do the job. I was watching U tube and thought about doing it myself, however the blotch came up after the first or second step. Tina had told me that they won't know about any issues with the concrete til after they are into the job, so glad I didn't attempt myself!! We have stained concrete around our pool which was a serious slip hazard. It was like walking on ice when it was wet. The company who sealed it didn't use a slip resistant product & repeatedly told us there was no way to correct it, which we later found out was a lie. Anyway, we randomly contacted Tina at Artcrete Designs who quoted a fair price so we decided to give them a try. Dylan came out to do the work & did a great job. He meticulously repaired some flaws in the concrete from where acetone was spilled and took the time discuss what our objective were to ensure we would be happy with the results. He was polite and respectful and did a good job. We are happy with the results and no longer worry about our granddaughter possibly slipping and potentially seriously hurting herself. Tina was hired to repair, color, and seal a back and front patio. She also was to reseal and add color to the driveway and sidewalk, and repair an area that was cracking and chipping in the driveway. The roofers had also left a lot of black tar marks on my stained driveway so that was also supposed to be cleaned and removed. She had another crew actually doing the prep work and she didn't come until a few days later to do the patio overlays, coloring, and sealing. The tar marks were also never removed however power washing and some minimal sanding were only attempted. Once the concrete was sealed, the tar came flashing through like lightening bolts. She took It upon herself to just cover them with a dark brown/black color which was not discussed with us. Our color is a golden reddish color and now with black spots that appear some what like an "oil spill", description coined by our neighbors, in our driveway. However she says this falls under her "creative expression" as an artist. This happened again on the front porch when I said I wanted more variation in the color to match the sidewalk rather then the flat color that it was. She proceeded to put the same dark brown color on that which looked mismatched from the rest of the sidewalk that is the golden reddish color. They finished at night which at the time looked fine until the light of day which showed the true colors and then it is too late. Again, her color choice falls under her "creative" expression. The sealer on our sidewalk and driveway turned white and is now flaking off in places. We had the starts of this only after a couple of months which they came out and rubbed some acetone on, which put a bandaid on it until it came back in a fury. She implied this was my fault because I must have went around the entire area spraying chemical to ruin the sealer. All because I cleaned up some un-removed tar after the project was complete because there were areas where it was coming up thru the sealer and was sticky, which I have littles running through and riding toys. So I pulled up the sealer and color while removing the tar in a small spot probably less then 6 inch square. I fixed it and the area is completely fine...no white spots. She said because I touched this tiny little area that I voided the warranty on the rest of the thousand or whatever square feet. The sealer come to find out was applied so thick that it did not allow water evaporation to go thru causing all this damage. She herself said they put an extra thick coat on to seal up our porous concrete. Our concrete was so slippery that the cars would slide down the driveway if raining! We did have our driveway/walkway stained and sealed a few years previously without any sealer issues other then fade that occurs with time. During the driveway concrete repair she used two different types of concrete saying she was out of the other. One had a texture and one did not but again this falls under her "creative expression." I was not happy because to me it looked more obvious there was a patch and I had to get upset and throw a small fit before they agreed to do more sanding to try to blend which still looked odd. The concrete repair in my driveway lasted 4 months before starting to crack which was shown to them once when they came out to fix the white spots, and again to assess all the white spots and flaking around the 11 month mark. She didn't have an answer for the repair. Their warranty means NOTHING...good luck trying to get warranty coverage. That concrete repair now 1.5 years later is raised, cracked and falling apart. First, make sure you agree that no other colors will be added unless approved. Do not allow concrete work at night! Demand a sample of color before they start so you know exactly what it will look like. I would put in the contract that if these white area sealer issues arise that they will be repaired under warranty. Hire a concrete person to do repairs. Do not over seal!! Protect yourself because contractors want their money and then they are gone! read more

Tina just finished our downstairs, which was flooded back on Memorial Day. The existing concrete was rough and needed to be leveled before any new coating could be added. Her team did a great job throughout, taking great care to mask off the rest of the house and even a downstairs laundry room. Somehow this review was removed. I am reposting it. We contracted with Tina Harryman at ARTCRETE Designs to do an overlay on our existing 30+ year old slab, and stain the overlay. The work was performed on time and we paid cash - half up front, and half to be paid upon completion of the job. When Tina returned to collect the second half of her payment, she told us that the materials had cost more than she initially expected and could we pay her $300 more? My husband told her that wasn't our contracted price so she left and we both hoped we'd never have to deal with her again. We were both surprised that she'd jeopardize an otherwise good working relationship to make not even 5% more for the job. Fast forward a month and we started noticing our floors had an increasing number of scuff marks. When I looked online to try to figure out how to safely remove the scuffs, I found several suggestions and tried them all to no avail. The scuff marks were permanent and had something to do with the sealer Tina had used. We decided we had to contact her again and to her credit, she came back to our home and agreed the the sealer was malfunctioning. By this time we were nearing the Christmas holidays and she asked if we could get through the end of the year and contact her in early 2014. We did as she asked and she came back to buff out the marks and apply a wax coat. She also told my husband that if we continued to have problems, she would come back and re-do the floors altogether. We were very pleased for her to offer to make it right and for awhile we thought perhaps we had misjudged her. Anyway, the floors looked great for a couple months and we thought we were in the clear. Now it's July and we have fresh scuff marks again, as well as an increasing number of nicks and chips in the overlay. When we contacted Tina to discuss the ongoing issues, she made no attempt to make it right. She tried to blame us for the problems. We are very disappointed in the quality of our ARTCRETE Designs floors. We would never use Tina Harryman at ARTCRETE Designs again, nor would we recommend her business to any of our friends. read more
