Awful customer service. Cara was rude and disoriented when I came to the store with my issue. Will not be returning.

It is nice and glossy and it effectively removed that creepy unfinished clay like chalkboard feeling. They said it is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe so excited to get it in rotation! They have a pretty quick turnaround time (3-5 days) and are very generous with their hold times. I embarrassingly will admit it took me a few months to get back to pick them up, and thankfully they still had them waiting in the back. Also, the garage DOES go through to the back of the building where The Painting Place is - so the directions are correct. It was much easier to get there this time when I realized it was a pull-through garage under the building lol.... I will definitely keep The Painting Place on my list for pottery crafts in the future!!

Staff here is very welcoming and friendly. Explained the process thoroughly…read more The setup is very similar to other pottery painting places I've been to. They even had pre-made paint palettes as an option. They also have some pottery pieces and things you can paint and take home the same day, but you can't eat from those items as they don't go thru the kiln. There wasn't a ton of variety in the pottery pieces to choose from, and the prices were a bit high compared to what I've seen in the past. We enjoyed our time. There were only two other parties there so it was very quiet and peaceful. Tip: if you use GPS for directions, it'll point you to the building across from theirs. They're right across from the Russian School. Their sign is a bit hidden. They do have a free parking lot.

The Pottery Painting Place has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere with a helpful & friendly staff…read more There is a wide assortment of products to paint and they are ready to help and give tips if needed. I brought my kids frequently when they were younger and now we go together as adults. Highly recommend!

We went as a birthday party of 4 and had made reservations ahead of time. There are signs in the…read morewindow and throughout the store stating they do special events such as birthdays, bachelorette parties etc. However, when we arrived you couldn't tell our table from anyone else's. Nothing was set up special for our party. This left me wondering what exactly do they do for parties? The selection of items was lacking. Many items were down to their last one. The paint selection was vast and plentiful. The brushes in the tables only included one brush of each size. If you wanted to do small, detailed work and someone else had the small brush you were out of luck. The bathroom didn't have a light and you had to use a flashlight in order to see where you were going. You could still see how filthy it was though. Cobwebs and dirt filled the corners. I didn't want to touch anything. In fact, the whole place was filthy. No one wore masks except our party. *Covid protocols were not enforced at all.* Restaurants have stricter mask wearing policies then they do! They started cleaning up 30 minutes before closing and the lady working had a loud conversation with another person about how she would "be in trouble if she was even 5 minutes late" so that we would be able to hear her. She and another person kept coming to our table asking if we were done with our paints yet. We felt rushed and disrespected. The passive aggressive attitude wasn't necessary. We drove over two hours to come to this little business that doesn't take credit cards and treats people poorly. Edit: January 12, 2021 -We are definitely getting the run around. Finally was able to get through and was told to call back. Called back and was told "I don't know anything about that call back." Called back and was told must call back. Looks like they are keeping our pieces out of spite over review. Three stars now down to one. Edit: February 7, 2021- Spoke with Kim, the owner. We should be getting our pieces soon. They are going to the post office tomorrow. She had been unaware of Stacey's treatment of us and has apologized profusely. I believe her to be sincere and very genuine.

What a great little shop, it's been a pleasure to watch them grow…read more I'm far from a "frequent flyer" here but I stop in on occasion and see a lot of the same faces. It seems they offer a great sense of community and engagement with their regular clientele; it's always nice to see such a well loved shop. Every time I'm in, it seems like there's something new (products, events, etc). The staff are familiar; they used to run the other comic/game/collectible shop in town, before it started going down hill I'd assume. When I've asked for something they don't have, they've always ordered it for me or referred me to someone else who DOES have it - these guys aren't looking for sales; they're looking for happy customers. I hope to see the store continue to grow; I don't play table top games but I love graphic novels, comics, and all things nerdy, and they've made forays into just about every realm of geekdom. Not at all corporate; 100% community. If you're in Maynard, you simply must stop in.

A lot to improve here.
