Nothing was set up special for our party. This left me wondering what exactly do they do for parties? The selection of items was lacking. Many items were down to their last one. The paint selection was vast and plentiful. The brushes in the tables only included one brush of each size. If you wanted to do small, detailed work and someone else had the small brush you were out of luck. The bathroom didn't have a light and you had to use a flashlight in order to see where you were going. You could still see how filthy it was though. Cobwebs and dirt filled the corners. I didn't want to touch anything. In fact, the whole place was filthy. No one wore masks except our party. *Covid protocols were not enforced at all.* Restaurants have stricter mask wearing policies then they do! They started cleaning up 30 minutes before closing and the lady working had a loud conversation with another person about how she would "be in trouble if she was even 5 minutes late" so that we would be able to hear her. She and another person kept coming to our table asking if we were done with our paints yet. We felt rushed and disrespected. The passive aggressive attitude wasn't necessary. We drove over two hours to come to this little business that doesn't take credit cards and treats people poorly. Edit: January 12, 2021 -We are definitely getting the run around. Finally was able to get through and was told to call back. Called back and was told "I don't know anything about that call back." Called back and was told must call back. Looks like they are keeping our pieces out of spite over review. Three stars now down to one. Edit: February 7, 2021- Spoke with Kim, the owner. We should be getting our pieces soon. They are going to the post office tomorrow. She had been unaware of Stacey's treatment of us and has apologized profusely. I believe her to be sincere and very genuine.

I've really been debating leaving this review because I did enjoy the painting (for the most part)…read more We (my husband and I) went for the very first time a couple weeks ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We made reservations ahead of time and when we got there they were assigning tables to sit at. We got shown out table and then we got moved. We were shown the other places to sit so we started looking for the pieces we were going to paint. We returned to the table and another lady started telling us to move again, we would be better off sitting somewhere else. So now we've been moved twice and we end up at a table with little kids who have zero interest in painting. They are on their phones and pushing/knocking the table and my husband and I are having to stop continuously so our painting doesn't get messed up (it did when the kid hit the table and we needed assistance fixing the piece-and we complained at that time). I should note-when we first arrived we told them we were celebrating our anniversary (they asked) and we were told "oh, you need to do a tile!." We didn't think anything of it at that time. When we were almost finished painting the plate we had picked out, a tile was brought over to us. We never asked for it and honestly forgot all about it. It was given to us and we were told to enjoy it. We finally finished the plate and tile so we brought them up to the front. There, we were charged for the tile we never asked for and to be perfectly honest had zero interest in doing - we didn't even put much effort into painting it because at that point we wanted to get out of there. The girl checking us out had no desire to follow up on it so we left, mad. I was told "give us 2 weeks" for the pieces to be ready. No other instructions. So I go yesterday to pick up the pieces -2 weeks and 3 days later. I walk in and tell the desk I'm here to pick them up. "Did you call first?" Ummmm, no, I wasn't told to do that and it's been longer than the 2 weeks. Then she can't find my stuff in the computer, both by phone # and name. I tell her the date we were there and she has to go find the actual paper slip. Then she can't find the pieces and there are now 2 people looking for the items. They finally find them after about 10 minutes of me standing stupidly at the front. Did I enjoy the actual painting? Yes Did I enjoy the overall experience? No Was the customer service good? Not great Will we go back? Probably not, I might give them a 2nd try by my husband will definitely not.

We grabbed the quick bite and then headed over. Place was kind of hard to find - it's on the backside of the "plaza" it is in and for some reason the GPS doesn't know how to get on the other side (or maybe it was just us) - but since we knew we were in the right area we drove around and found it. They offer a lot of different craft services - pottery painting, mosaic building, candle making, and other kid friendly activities. We opted for the pottery painting. They had a decent selection of pieces to pant - lot of bowl, plate, cup, jewelry holder, planter, etc. types that are functional. The pottery pieces themselves are a little on the pricey side but they do not have a studio fee like other places, so the cost is all inclusive. They have a lot of paint colors to choose from and it's kept pretty organized, so it's easy to find what you are looking for. At the paint station, they had a display of the colors painted three ways - one coat, two coats, and three plus coats and a number for each color. The bottles were numbered accordingly and they had another little color display below the spot for that number. This was VERY helpful! You use the little paint plates (I forget technical name) and can get as much as you need and want as many times as needed. All of the workers were very friendly, ready and prepared to answer any questions, and were happy to walk you through the process, setup, and instructions. They had several table setups all of which were prepared with various brushes and water bowls. There were a lot of other supplies available too. We had a great time. It wasn't extremely busy which was good - I can see this place filling up, but I will say they have a lot of space to accommodate. The turnaround time given was a week, so I will pick up my piece soon and add an after photo. I made a coffee mug and my friend made a display like plate/tray - can't wait to see the results! Would definitely consider going back here for more pottery painting!

They even had pre-made paint palettes as an option. They also have some pottery pieces and things you can paint and take home the same day, but you can't eat from those items as they don't go thru the kiln. There wasn't a ton of variety in the pottery pieces to choose from, and the prices were a bit high compared to what I've seen in the past. We enjoyed our time. There were only two other parties there so it was very quiet and peaceful. Tip: if you use GPS for directions, it'll point you to the building across from theirs. They're right across from the Russian School. Their sign is a bit hidden. They do have a free parking lot.

I have been here several times and have always found the service less than impressive but with limited options, I accept it. My daughter and her mother in law went there and had a similar experience so I feel the need to share the experiences I have had MULTIPLE times. This store is much more focused on its students who attend the classes than your average customer. The general impression is that customers are a nuisance to them. If you ask a question, their answers are abrupt with no follow up. I've asked for assistance with selecting the proper yarn weight and learned to look it up rather than ask. It just isn't a pleasant place to be. If you need yarn, go but if you're traveling don't bother. Order from an online store. It's what I've started to do.

Not many yarn shops where I live so I made the 15 mile trek to this store. Scheduled to open at 12. I arrived at 11:45. It seemed there were people in the store and the door was open. So, I entered quietly as it seemed there were women at a table-turned out to be a class. The woman at the counter asked us to LEAVE!! She looks at me and says, "we open at 12". I said well what time is it? She says just around 11:50 she says. I was floored. If I'm not welcome I am not staying but I'm not sure how anyone can think sending a customer away for entering 10 minutes before opening when people are inside and the door is open is even reasonable. I was looking to buy enough yarn to make 1 dozen matching hat scarf and mitten sets in adult sizes and another dozen in kids sizes. I generally prefer to buy good yarn from local shops. I will drive much further this time. These people are rude!
