I don't even know where to start with how THANKFUL I feel for your company! I have a home warranty but could not get ANYONE on the phone to help with an emergency leak. After calling the city and having the water shut off I sat on hold for an hour with the warranty company with no answer. My parents suggested I contact ARS. I am SO glad I did! They came out immediately and George D. was so kind and professional! I am extremely impressed with the swiftness as to which he came to my house, diagnosed the problem and then made sure he could get someone out today so I could have the water on for my kids. To top it off, I was so shocked at the price. For an emergency plumbing service it was extremely reasonable. I will recommend you guys to everyone! So, I called to schedule an appointment and they said they could come from 12-2:30 pm. They called me at 2 and said they are running a hour behind. I called rem back at 4 pm and the dispatcher said they were one mile away. 35 minutes later I called back and he said they were having technical difficulties. I said huh? He said well, they are stuck in traffic. Around 5pm the tech comes and said, we need to shut off you water for four units and I need to give everyone 24 hour notice. The entire process was terrible. This company is not legit. We had an appointment to install a home ac coil. On the first scheduled day they never showed up and when we called they stated they were waiting on the part. The company scheduled the appointment two days later to install between 8-5. They called mid-day stating they needed payment before services were rendered. We had already spent $800 for freon 4 days prior. This company is in business to just make money. Would not recommend it. On Thursday, August 11, 2016 my shower started leaking. I googled emergency plumbers and after some transfers finally connected to the Dallas ARS group. They wanted to charge $120 for after hour repairs but they couldn't tell me how long it would be until the tech arrived. I was impressed by Jimmy - he called and walked me through turning the water off at the street to prevent a huge loss of water. That's where the good service ended. I scheduled an appointment for Friday, August 12 at 11:00 am. I didn't even hear from the company until 12:25 pm at which time they told me the tech would arrive in about 30 - 40 minutes. At 1:20 pm I called back only to find out that the tech was stuck in traffic. the tech finally arrived at 2:00 PM and proceeded to tell me it was going to cost $260 to replace the pins in the handles of the shower to stop the leak. I reluctantly agreed. 20 minutes later the tech told me that a screw broke off and he was going to have to replace everything. This jacked up the price to $395.000. He then told me he didn't have the parts in his big company vehicle and had to go to Home Depot. Almost an hour later he gets back, finishes the work. I asked him how much the parts cost and he deflected the question saying that the company pays their techs on commission so the repair rates are a flat fee. I looked up the parts he installed and the kit cost less than $60.00 and yet the repair cost went up $130.00. He also wouldn't provide an itemized account of the fees. By the time everything was finished over 5 hours had elapsed. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for plumbing work. I was in a bind and needed to get the work done but if I had known it was going to take 5 hours I could have done the work myself using YouTube and saving myself at least $250.00. read more

I had used ARS in the past and thought the prices were high for no longer than the time required to do the repairs...but this last incident was the final straw. I had a persistent smell coming from the bathroom which I thought was a sewer leak. The technician suggested changing the wax ring, though he did say he couldn't guarantee that was the actual cause. However, he would not look under the house, where I said I believed the origin of the problem was located. My dog had been pawing at an area next to the bathtub, and I told them something was going on there. They ignored my suggestion. He charged me $300 to replace a $10 wax ring. Then he told me I could caulk around the bottom of the toilet, that might help further. For $300, I'd think THEY could do it. It didn't fix the smell, so I didn't bother calling them again, as they didn't even have any insightful suggestions about where to look next. The next company I called wouldn't physically go under the house either, though they did perform a bunch of expensive smoke tests. Still didn't fix the problem. Finally I called 21st Century Plumbing, told them the whole story, and they sent out 2 guys, including one who was small enough to fit into the crawl space. Less than 5 minutes later, he came out with a dead rat. My dog was right the whole time. We spent over $800 with ARS and the other plumbers just because no one would look where I asked. I understand that plumbing is something of an inexact science, like medicine, and people make mistakes. But I used ARS several times and they were always overpriced, didn't seem to want to go out of their way if a problem was complicated at all, and once had to have them come back when a repair started leaking again. Don't waste your money on ARS. No plumbers are cheap, but you'll find plenty who cost less AND do a better job. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. They are slow and they are dishonest. I was locked into using ARS because they were the only provider that my extended warranty company uses. After waiting for 5 days for our appointment to come, ARS came out and verified the water heater needed to be replaced and called GE to activate the replacement process. Then they CLAIMED to have contacted the extended warranty company and that the "extra" materials to replace the water heater would not be covered and I needed to pay $250 out of pocket. I called the warranty company, and they said that was not true, and that in fact it might be 24 hours before their claims department processed the request to give approval to ARS. So why is ARS trying to charge me $250? I escalated the issue with the warranty company and will not be using ARS for this, or any other future job. read more

we had them out for some sewer work on thursday came out quickly to diagnose then tried to postpone the work until Monday. after being told we are very busy on the weekends. they fixed the major issue neglected the remainder of the small issues we called about. fast forward Sunday in the middle of our busiest the toilet is spewing water upward we have to close the ladies room. give them a call they say they're on the their way within 30 minutes. they never come and say we didn't answer. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst customer service ever!!!! We were overcharged and after 2 days and 8 phone calls later I had to drive to office to pick up refund because otherwise "it would take a few weeks to be mailed out and get approval" all this after being told estimates are free.... They are not. Once they get to your house (3 days later than promised) they the charge you a gas test fee to give you the "free estimate" they also charge you for a permit at that time to complete the work. When you go with a different company they then do not want to give you money back for the permit they did not actually pull for the work. Every time you call you speak with someone new. No one communicates and you never get a straight answer. There prices are also SEVERAL 1000s higher than other companies. I wish I would have read Yelp before calling them!!!! read more

I thought it would be a good idea to get a national service provider when I bought my house, which was a 2 year old foreclosure. This is not the service. I needed a cartridge replaced on 2 of the faucets for the showers because they had not been used for a while when I moved in. The tech that came out was friendly and knowledgeable. He quoted me a rate that was about $100 too high based on a quick Google search of the rates, so he called his supervisor, and lo and behold, a better rate was available. I felt like quite the negotiator. I also figured as long as I was well-informed about the rates, I could use this service. So I ordered the package for maintenance on the water heater, a/c/heater, plumbing so I didn't have any worries--all maintenance would be done and I didn't have to do anything besides be home twice a year for 4 hours. Unfortunately, I have had endless problems with them and the services that they have provided. One tech told me that I needed a whole new toilet when it was just that there was a tampon applicator from the previous owner clogging the toilet. I called and complained that I could not possibly need a whole new toilet or all of my plumbing redone and to send another tech for a second opinion...they sent the SAME one and he said the SAME thing--I needed a new toilet and possibly my pipes redone because the pipe thing they stick down the toilet was stirring up 'dirt'....on the third floor of my townhouse. He couldnt explain how dirt could get that high up in the pipes either. On the third call, I got a new guy who said I misunderstood the first guy both times and took the toilet off, found the tampon applicator and voila, all was fine. I also had a tech (at a regular service call) turn the water heater up only to be told when it broke 6 months later that it was turned up way too high and led to the element melting and costing $400. The tech was shocked that a 3 year old water heater would have this problem. After countless unreturned calls over the course of the past 5 months, I finally got someone in the service department to talk to me and he said there's no way that turning it up was the cause....so his tech didn't know what he was talking about. Also, about a month after my water heater service call, my neighbor (who I had recommended ARS to in the early days) had an ARS a/c tech service his A/C and the next day it broke...come to find out, he had a 'fake' certification and was fired. Not cool ARS, not cool. My advice is to steer clear of the lottery for good help at ARS. read more

Currently in a dispute with this company over reoccurring pipe leak that they have replaced twice before now. My 1 year warranty expired 20 days ago and now it seems that the "leaky" pipe they installed has corroded and is now it is my responsibility to pay their $1000 estimate, Dry Force water clean up, mold check, and cost for repainting my garage. I will post a follow up on how this matter was resolved. Thank you I had to pay over $1000 for issue. Now I have to call them back for another leak on new pipe they installed. Thank God it isn't coming through my ceiling but area is soaked and has water damage. Just dealt with these ppl in May, now it's August!! I was hoping their last repair lasted so I would never have to deal with them again. But their repairs that they do are not lasting! As mentioned, the practices of this company are a bit questionable at best. I had them come out for an 88$ clean out. Immediately I was told my back bathroom was different and there was no easy street level clean out. Ok, what does that mean? Well, Either they rip my whole toilet out for 450, or they clear it from the roof for 320. A far cry from 88$! After asking them to get some better pricing or go home, they called the manager (put that in quotes) and it was less. Still a ridiculous price for something that took 10 minutes...was in the middle of the day and not an emergency literally 10 minutes. With my usual plumber busy until tomorrow, I paid it, but I'm certainly not happy. To be fair though, the issue is fixed. 8/15 - To finish the loop. I was told that a follow up camera session of the drain..to make sure everything was repaired, and there were no further issues would be done as part of the astronomical pricing. Had appointment for noon, here it is 8:09 pm not a call from tech or from the company. Have called them many times and have been told 5 times a technician will be contacting me, still nothing. This is to repair a leaking water line that they repaired 3 months ago. Is leaking from the solder they put in. Terrible customer service will probably have to fix myself and just take the loss on the 500 dollars they charged me to fix it originally. Do not hire this company. Ok update, tech finally showed up said the original tech has to come out and fix for the warranty. They are commission based and he wouldn't get paid so now I have to hope the other tech can make it to honor the warranty. If zero stars were acceptable, then that's what they would get. When I had first moved into my new house there was some blockage that caused water to come back up in my bathtub. Called them up and the guy came out. He tried to up sell me on having a trap drain for the outside, so when this actually happens it's easy for them to access with a snake and fix instead of pulling up the toilet. Well... I told him I was new to the house and didn't know if there was already one installed. He looked and said, "No" and that he'd have to remove the toilet since I didn't want to spend a thousand or so creating one. Well, $330 later for pulling the toilet and running the snake the problem was fixed. I was a little peeved when I found out that there actually was a drain that was accessible from the outside and that he opted for the more expensive fix. --- A number of years later our hot water went out on a Sunday. Family is going nuts, so I call and pay the extra for them to come out on a Sunday. The guy comes and quickly diagnoses the problem and says he needs to run to Home Depot to get the part. The whole time he's telling me I should just get a new hot water heater and blah blah blah... Cost of the new heater would run almost $4k!!! WOW. Well, in all this fiddle farting around he finally runs off to Home Depot to get his part. Well.. by this time, they are closed. He calls another tech to see if they had a part. Nope... nothing fixed. I still had to pay close to $300 for this guy to 1) not fix anything and 2) just give me a outrageous quote for a new hot water heater. ummm... no thanks. read more

Ran a camera down the front out clean out and told me all my pipes had collapsed under my house Tried to get my to sign a contract for 35,000 to replace them. And tried to get me to sign papers for a 10 thousand dollar loan to get started Guaranteed me I would have to stay in a hotel and my insurance would cover it all. Sadly, although their installation was good, their follow-through after selling me a new system has been pretty poor. I can't get anyone locally to call me back to answer questions---"someone will call you back" is their standard answer to every phone call I've made. UPDATED 9/30/2014: This place sold me a home service plan over the phone, while one of their guys was repairing my old HVAC system, telling me I would receive a discount on the repair in progress, plus two checkup visits in the spring and fall, to get the heater or a/c ready for the change in weather. They never called to schedule either appointment, and when I called to inquire about my spring checkup, they told me they were booked for the next six weeks. I still haven't had my fall checkup, and my year is about to expire. Also, my year of service ended with last month's payment, but when I checked this month's credit card bill, sure enough, they've continued to charge me. I called to get it corrected, and was told someone would call back. Same old song: nobody called. I called again two weeks later, and was told the person who took care of that was out of the office, and would call me back. Big surprise: no call. I finally called my credit card company, and filed a billing dispute to get the extra money they'd charged me back, and to block them from charging me again. read more

If it weren't for the less than awesome people on the phone, it would be a five-star rating. You really can't beat having them come out the same day and fix the problem. Needed some help installing an oven and also a gas shut off valve behind my oven. The man that came over was very friendly and knowledgeable, I would give him five stars. The job was done in less than an hour and my new oven works great! He also helped me in moving around the old oven. Furthermore, he came on time even though it was bad weather. Gets knocked down 2 stars for two big reasons. One is the price, definitely an expensive service, shop around if you can. Second is bad over the phone customer service reps, they don't let you talk and constantly cut you off, I talked to two and they both acted the same. They are just trying to rush you off the phone and get you locked into a field visit with a technician ASAP. If I was a VP in the customer care department at ARS, I would put out some different scripts for the call center reps or put a training session together. read more

Called them for an estimate, the guy came out the next day, The water heater was a tight fit, BUT unlike the other 2 guys who came out he was UNABLE to figure out how to get the old water heater out , & wanted to cut a second door through the wall to get the old heater out & the new one in, he also semed interested in building a whole new closet in the garage, or installing it in a differrent closet & running all new lines to that closet... WORSE the water shutoff valve was right there & could have been cut of f & replaced with a single weld on just 1/2 of the valve as the water heater could be replaced later, for that SIMPLE job he padded the estimate to $400 , even though hois own company had replaced shutoff valves under sinks for me at less than $200 before & the part costs $30 at home depot......His total estimate for the complete job 2,900 which is NUTS. the Contractor I hired My Texas Home Services was able to start the job at 4pm that day, ordered a 40 Gal SLIMLINE heater that fit the space WAY BETTER than the original & lifted the old heater out with just 2 guys & EVEN EASIER than the guy who did the 1st install as that guy had cheated & disassembled the doorframe to get the clearance he needed & Len figured a better way.....He also included the shutoff valve & charged me WAY LESS way closer to 1k than 3k ........ Rescue Rooter was a TOTAL waste of time, not what they once were . They USED to be way better ... read more

After setting up service with a new electricity company, we were given a free A/C Check-Up with ARS Rescue Rooter. Though we didn't have any leaks, compressor problems, or any other A/C problems, the ARS Rescue Rooter service technician (Felipe) gave us such great service. He was very personable and comfortable to be around, and he invited me to join him as he went through each step of the process. As we went, he educated me on the A/C unit and things to be aware of and to watch for. Felipe also made good suggestions to help us lower our electricity bills. By implementing his suggestions, we will use less electricity (be greener) AND save money on our electricity bills. read more

What a great company, I had an issue with my plumbing. They obviously took care of it, but every person I interacted with their company was hands-down amazing. George came out tonight because the original issue we thought was handled started acting up again. Not only did the dispatcher keep me posted step-by-step throughout the day. George showed up at 8 o'clock at night seconds before a thunderstorm with absolute confidence that he would not leave until it was fixed. SCAM advertising...beware. Saw add on line $88.00 line clean-out. Called 8/16/17. Add said line must be accessible. It was my kitchen sink...nothing else. Upon arrival Josh said the coupon was not good for this and it would be $320.00?! Then he wrote me an estimate for $260.00. I asked why not the $88.00. He said that is for outside access only....No place on this on-line coupon does it say that. He then said, well I need to remove the P-trap.....Really and additional $172.00 for that? I said i will remove it for you. He then said, I also have to bring my equipment inside. My kitchen sink is 15 feet from front of the house clean-out. I have spoken to 3 other plumbers today and they said this is ARS normal practice. I sent Josh home with-out a job. Also found a plumber to match the on-line coupon of $88.00. I purchased a new Carrier air conditioner from ARS in 2018. Two years later the unit failed. ARS has a one year warranty on labor and a 5/10 year warranty on parts. I contacted them to repair my a/c but was told that there was a problem with my account. Being the weekend, and 106 degrees, I contacted another company to fix my unit. Afterwards, I requested to be reimbursed from ARS for the cost of the replacement part. Mr. Bennett, from ARS, contacted me to apologize for the mix-up on my account. He then reimbursed me for the entire cost of my a/c repair. Mr. Bennett went above and beyond my request and expectations on resolving this matter. I am quite impressed with ARS's customer service. DO NOT USE. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE GUARANTEED POST SERVICE. We are having to officially file complaints with the Texas Board considering we've contacted customer service numerous times and she wasn't willing to rectify the problem and wanted to charge again for the trip out to fix their mistake. This company was called after a home inspector found the main sewer line clogged. They cleaned the wrong line, only servicing the kitchen grease line. They were called again after explaining it was supposed to be the main drain line so they came back out and charged again and then said "no blockages"...fast forward two months with toilets having no use (because Buyers haven't even moved in) and the home was flooding when sewage water started coming up from the bottom of the toilets in the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. The Plumbers failed to clean the main sewer line out ONCE AGAIN which is accessed through the roof- not the kitchen clean outs like they kept trying. The are not offering any assistance for a solution and the toilets can't be used until everything is cleared out. Customer service said "well they probably won't even remember what they did and why they did it and they would have to charge to see what the issue is." Not the professional response you want when you've already paid them twice and they still haven't resolved anything. Plus this company's admin is very unprofessional, and was reportedly in shouting match with the Seller over this. Warning you, do not use this plumbing company!! read more

A completely useless organization. They had me scheduled to have a plumber here between 1500 - 1900. When I hadn't heard anything by 1800 I called them. The weasel on the phone claims he called and left a message at 1600. Except he hadn't no missed call no message on the phone. He read back the correct number but never called. So they were not coming out because of an incompetent weasel. Do not bother with them I have since found out from other plumbers this is standard for them. Our rain gutters were backing up. Turned out the gutters weren't the problem, but the underground drains they fed into were. The nice folks at Dallas Gutter & Repair referred me to ARS to clean out those underground drains. Drew with ARS was out the next day and worked his butt off cleaning out years of debris, pinpointing some areas I might want to change, and leaving the place clean and tidy. Fair price too. Everyone wore masks, social distanced, Etc. Could not be more pleased with ARS's performance. All of my expectations were favorably exceeded! read more

The tech, Michael called to let me know that he would be at my house in 30 to45 minutes. One hour and 45 minutes later he showed up. My water heater was not working and he said he would try to restart the pilot light for $169. I agreed and paid $169 for 1 minute of service. The tech told me that I needed a new thermostat which would cost around $600. I refused. Online the same thermostat costs $137. I don't trust ARS to provide honest service or reasonable prices read more

Tried to charge me $1000, for Freon, called someone who came out 2 hours later, and they charged $150 for the same Freon service!! I wish I could give them zero stars but it won't let me!!
