If you don't mind being charged at least double what another plumber charges, use this company. I used ARS Rescue Rooter for a decade and spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company. They are not the same and have gone downhill. I signed a Plumbing Contract on November 4, 2019 to have a pipe fixed. I took time off work to meet with ARS who was late every time or a "no show". When they finally did the plumbing work, which cost $9,210, it did not fix everything I mentioned to the plumber and he said that would cost another $9. When I said that wasn't happening, I was told that a permit was pulled so I couldn't get another plumber to come in and fix what I needed fixed. I called the City of Carrollton permit department and was told a permit was never pulled, even though I had paid ARS for that. Because there was no permit pulled by ARS, I had the other plumber come in and fix what was needed $4,265; half of what ARS wanted to charge me. ARS dug 3 holes in my yard and jackhammered in the garage and disappeared after the plumbing work was completed. I contacted ARS on December 18, 2019 to see what the status was and heard nothing until I wrote a letter demanding that ARS finish the work I paid $9,120 for or I will seek legal remedies. The work was then finished in 48 hours, with no apology or even acknowledgement that they were in the wrong. I will never use ARS again and urge anyone else to do the same. They will do the work you need properly, for double the cost and you have to threaten legal action to get what you pay for. read more

If I could give them a negative 5 stars I would. Worst service ever. I called early this morning about an emergency leak under my kitchen sink. I am a senior citizen and called them as 3rd on my list. They promised to be here today (Friday). After three follow-up calls to them and their promise that (at 4:30 PM) someone would be here within the hour, no one called and no one showed. I still have a leak under my sink and will have to live with it over the weekend because of their inefficiency and unprofessionalism. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Two people came out on August 9th and charged $413 to do nothing except tell me it would be another $3200 to remove the object from the drain. They never even found the clean-out after telling me that they had and were not able to extract the object without digging through the floor or under the foundation. They also attempted to scare me into making a hasty decision by telling me that they had pushed the object into the main line therefore causing the other toilets in the house to be inoperable AND my shower, bathtub, sinks and washer. When I said I wanted to get a second opinion, I was told if I didn't use them, there would be another $400 charge for a "finders fee", which I knew wasn't even legal as I had signed nothing to that affect. Long story short, we called a different plumber that night and he was able to extract the object (a piece of PVC) and unclog another drain for $285. He also told us that none of the other toilets were affected or any other area of the house based on where the clog was. Basically they were running a big scam. I'm still waiting for a call back to be refunded my $413 as their ad says they have a 100% satisfied money back guarantee. Update! After NEVER calling me back, they charged my credit card for half of the work they never did! $1625 hit my credit card on August 16th. I'm now working to get that money refunded. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Called them to repair a leaking sink. They call me back and notify me a tech is on the way and will be there in 45 minutes to an hour. Finally arrived an hour and 45 minutes later. I show him the leaking sink, he pokes around, turning the water faucet on and off. Finally after 5 minutes, he announces that he can't fix the problem, and the whole faucet has to be replaced! Didn't even offer to turn off water to sink. I had to ask him to turn off the water to the sink. The tech goes out to write up an estimate for the replacement, comes back with a $615.00 estimate! Total charge for this trip...$207.50, including a $20.00 charge for materials (no materials used) and a $187.50 leak detection fee (all tech did was turn the faucet on and off a couple of times) Total ripoff. Paid bill, reluctantly. Tech had to call in to process credit card which took 10 minutes. So, in the end paid over $200.00 for nothing and have a sink with the water shut off. A company with what seems like dozens of non-communicating distribution hubs and dispatches, and completely uninformed ground personnel, the receptionists are superb at apologizing for "managers" that never, ever call back once a job is botched. Two months ago, my toilet and washing machine line was clogged up. In the following weeks, all I got was a busted elbow pipe, a scarred up wall from an improperly-used roto-rooter, and a 900+ dollar additional bill for what should be covered under warranty. Tonight, the third technician dispatched asked me "So what do you want me to do?" and left without doing any work. He left his managers number. I won't be expecting a call back. Avoid at all costs. ARS was contracted through my warranty with AHS. I had a non contracted plumber tell me there were some issues in my older home. I filled a claim with AHS to have the issues confirmed. ARS was originally scheduled to arrive on Friday Feb 8th between 12:00-5:00pm. Their technician Terry arrived at 5:10pm. He did not introduced himself and gruffly insisted that I "take care of those dogs before any work gets done." At that point I went through what the initial plumber had told me. Terry responded that "there is no way AHS is going to pay for a repair like that." He continued to be rude and disrespectful as he looked at the remaining problems to the point where I heatedly insist he leave immediately. I have never been treated so poorly in my home by a service technician of any type as I was that day. I called ARS to complain and was told that all mangers leave at 5pm. I asked that I be called first thing Monday morning by a manager. On Monday, Feb 11th, I finally had to call ARS. I spoke with one of the managers, Bobby. He apologized and then booked my appointment with a senior technician. On Friday, Feb 18th ARS called at 2:20pm to tell me their technician was enroute. At 4:10pm, I called back to se where the tech was. I was told that the dispatch had sent Terry back to my house and when he figured it out, dispatch simply cancelled his visit. I never received a call and was told that no other plumbers were available. I asked to again speak to a manger and I was told they were all gone (at 4:20pm). But last week they all left at 5pm? Sure thing ARS. From top to bottom, this company is an embarrassment of a business. Customer service is absolutely their lowest priority and they will do nothing to remedy a concern. We chose this company based on past experience, which was great, absolutely not this time, and never again. On Thursday night we had a water line break in our yard. We immediately put a call in to our home owner warranty to have it fixed. The next morning I called them to check on it and get information about upgrading it to urgent as we had no running water to the house. They did so, but at 12 when I hadn't heard, I called the the warranty who called the service provider and we were told we couldn't be put on the schedule for the day. Company #1 who won't get my business again. We called ARS at about 12:30 and explained the situation. They said they would put us in for the next available appointment. At 5 I called to see where we were in the scheme of things and was told that we were next to be seen but that the plumber had been delayed. At 8 pm I called again, and then got a call from the local office saying that we were next but the plumber was still on this other call he'll put me in the 9-1 window for Saturday. I said, I need someone here in the morning. He said I was the next one to be seen. Saturday morning rolls around, I have a crew here doing work that had been started last week, but they can't finish without water, so at 9, I call the local office to confirm the plumber is coming. I'm told that I'm in the 9-1 window, to which I replied, that I was told I was the next customer, so he should be here this morning, right? He said yes. At 11 I called and asked again. He tells me that the plumber is still delayed. I told him that my crew for another job just had to leave because of no water and that I wanted to know how it was that since 5pm yesterday I had been next in line. He reiterated that the plumber was delayed. I asked if he was on the same job, of course I was told he was, but I don't believe that. So, is this the ONLY plumber they could have sent? I'm sure that's not true either. At 12:52, I get a call that the tech is on his way. An HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES later he shows up. After an hour I called back and confirmed he was on his way--I was told he was stuck in traffic. I mean this is ridiculous and I should have cancelled it but we had other things going on and were hoping it would work out in the end. So he looks at the pipe, which was easy since we had already dug the hole, he didn't have to do anything in order to see or locate the issue, he presents us with the estimate--$1,024.22! My husband says, "Seriously? That's 1/4 of what you all re-plumbed our previous house for!" The guy looked at us and said, "That wasn't us." I said, "It was, would you like me to pull the receipt?" He told me it was irrelevant, I told him it may be irrelevant to him but it certainly wasn't to me. Unbelievable. He offered us a 10% discount for having dug up the area--the hard part of his job. We should have only paid 10% of that outrageous quote for doing the majority of his work for him! Then to have the audacity to imply that we were lying about the work we've had this company do before? Wow. Never. Again. Incidentally...about a year and a half ago, we recommended ARS to my mother in law who had a leak in her yard. They came out the same day, dug up about 15-20 feet of yard to locate and repair the leak. Cost? $1500. Our issue was contained in a 1.5 ft (or less) space and even with digging below the pipe it wasn't more than 12 inches deep and as I mentioned, we had already dug it out. I found the receipt from the plumb job and just to be clear, that house was the next city over. Total cost? $5075....1/4 would have been $1268.75, my husband was only off by $244. Considering what we had to do that day, we would have been willing to pay $244, even though we still feel like that was too much for the job, to not have to do it ourselves. Had we done it ourselves though, we could have had it done before the crew left and they could have finished the job instead of having to come back out on Sunday. If you can't get us in the same day when we call at 12 and tell you we NEED someone today, then tell us that--that at least gives us the opportunity to find someone else. But don't jerk us around and act like there's only 1 person who could possibly handle this job and keep telling us that he's been delayed--send someone else. Horrible, horrible service. read more

We found a coupon for $49* for a tune-up for our A/C unit. We had an appointment set for 5/30/16 between 9am & 1pm. No one called or showed up. We called them at 3pm, only to hear that their guys couldn't make it and to change our our appointment to TWO weeks later (6/13/16). Why did WE have to call? Is that how to run a business? They didn't even make an excuse. 6/13/16. We received a voicemail to call. We call 25 minutes later (as soon as we heard the voicemail) and are told that their guy WAS in our area and now is not...reschedule. WHAT? In DFW, located in Irving, and we live in Irving, they can't keep an appointment? Don't even bother with this company. The service we received from ARS Rescue Rooter Dallas was incredible!! Our mop sink in our utility closet had a severe blockage, and suddenly one morning, the standing water in the sink had permeated our facility with an awful smell. ARS responded to our call quickly and professionally. They were able to dispatch a plumber within a few hours, and before we knew it, Michael had come to our rescue! The blockage was so bad that it took him nearly two hours to unclog it. There were moments when we thought we might need to take a more invasive approach, like drilling into the floor to access our pipes. But Michael persevered, and with much determination and physical labor, he unclogged our mop sink without going to extreme measures! Michael was extremely professional and kind, and he completed a difficult, unpleasant, and grim-looking task with such discipline and poise. We could not have had a better experience. My AC was not blowing out cold air. Called another company and they came out and said I needed a new AC unit. I decided to get a second opinion and called ARS. ARS came out and said I needed Freon in my unit and it would be fixed. I was thrilled that it could be fixed without getting a new unit. Thought the other company was trying to scam me. I was wrong it was ARS that was the scam. After filling my unit with Freon at a cost of $99 a pound for 5 pounds and another $120 charge the tech then tells me I needed a new unit. This information would have been helpful BEFORE he went and did work that was not necessary since I have to now replace my unit and have now paid extra money for nothing. In addition the first company told me a new unit would cost $2,800 but ARS quoted me $4,200. Scammers! Go elsewhere! read more

I was scheduled for a drain cleaning and took time from work as they could only schedule me during the week. Appt. scheduled and they never showed up; I followed up with them and they kept saying they were on their way. They called me at 8:30 p.m. to be there by 10:00! Really, my appt. was 11-1. I then received a coupon for tune up for a/c so I thought I would give them a second chance on a Saturday so that I did not have to miss work. The appt. was 9-1; I called them at 11:00 to make sure I was on the schedule, they told me I was the next customer. Well, this is three days later and I am still waiting for the technician to show. I received a call from them 10 minutes ago indicating that "they did not have a chance to get to my appt. and they would like to reschedule". I terminated the A/C call due to questionable business practices. The tech hadn't even looked at my unit (5-year old Trane) before he started talking about maybe needing a new unit. about 2 months ago we went to Home Depot and they sent out their contact connection with ARS. The rep was pleasant, personable, and the cost and options of units went well. We made our choice and the install was set. All went smoothly until a week or 2 later. During the install the condensation pipe from the AC was pushed aside and not properly resecured so we had water drain thru the ceiling and into the bathroom. ARS was prompt about sending someone out to assess and repair the problem, then set up time/date for a drying service to come out. The next evening we had the drying service come to place 2 fans and 1 de-humidifier as well as set up their electronic monitoring system so they could monitor the drying process. For 3 days we listened to the fans and de-humidifier do its work, until the service came out again to remove their equipment and deem the area dry. We were told we'd have someone out soon to replace all the wet insulation that had been removed and fill in the screw holes from their monitoring equipment. A month later, and after many calls with no return calls, appointments with no one showing up, we finally had someone come out to assess what needed doing, then make an appointment to come back 2 days later to do all the work. He never showed or called. Another call to ARS and we finally had the appointment for the insulation and repair, except the team for the insulation did not come prepared to do the hole repair so we sent them on their way. Tired of the run around, and lack of proper customer service, the screw holes are being fixed by someone other than the ones who created the problem. ARS install service is great--they get a sale, money is paid, and all is good. But if you need anything more than that after the install, give up and find another way to fix it. Their customer service and follow thru practices are poor. The people are nice, and I'm sure the mean well, but the quality of service is just not there. read more

Dustin, the plumber, was fantastic, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. They came out to service my house faster than any other company could and got the job done efficiently. I saw that the carpet in my garage was wet.Opened the door to my hot water heater and saw water in the pan and wet cement. I called ARS Rescue rooter, this was on a weekend. The ARS Plumber came out, looked over everything. Told me that my water heater busted and that I had really gotten my money worth out of it because it was 14 years old. He also said he would have to replace my water shut off valve because it wasn't working. He was trying to turn off the water to the hot water heater so that I would still be able to flush the toilet, since hot water heater could not be replaced until Monday. He quoted me $2,000.00 for everything. I decided to call Lowe's and was able to get a top of the line hot water heater, installation and parts as well as permit for only $1,000.00. This is in reference to ARS Rescue Rooter (ARS) of Dallas. I am currently in the midst of an air conditioner problem that is now two weeks ongoing. Called American Homeshield (AHS) (warranty company) on June 23, and received a call from ARS the next day. Scheduled an appt for June 26th before noon. No AC for 3 days now. They showed up at 2:30 PM - no call to let us know. Had to get a part, scheduled another appt for June 30, 8-12. June 30 AM - after waiting at home for 6 hrs, (no call from ARS), I called them and was informed the part was not in. Rescheduled to July 2nd AM. We've now waited a total of over 12 hours in our house with no AC, and no call from ARS to let us know they would be late (or not coming as the part was not in). July 2nd - we again had a morning appt (before noon). They finally showed up at 6:00 PM, (6 hours late) no call to let us know. replaced the coil (this is a major job), completed at 10:30 PM, but realized they needed another part, said someone would be here first thing in the morning. I called about 10:00 AM and they finally showed up about noon, replaced the part and we had AC. Two days later, AC not working well. I looked at the work they did. Air leaks around the new coil, the duct plenum was warped, very shoddy taping around the ducts, overall D- work. Then I checked the compressor and found that the suction line was kinked in two places. July 6th I called again to ARS, was told I had to call AHS to schedule a re-call. I did, and called ARS back the next day as I had not heard from them. They said they would work me in. At 6:40 I received a call that a tech was on the way. at 10:30 PM I went to bed,,, still no tech. I called ARS back that night also, but the after hours people had no useful information. I called back the next day (July 9th at 7:30 AM) and was told a tech would be here by 8:30. At 9:00 AM, I got a call from ARS saying the tech would be here at 9:30. He showed up at 10:00 and is working on my AC unit as I type this. To sum up, we have waited for a total of about 30 hours for the ARS techs to arrive (this does not include the time they were actually here doing work. They were never on time, and never called to let us know they would be late (or not coming at all). It has now been 16 days since we reported the problem (15 since we first spoke with ARS), and the AC still does not work. I have had other issues with ARS as well, when they worked on plumbing problems. While they did complete the plumbing to my satisfaction, they were late, and when I asked them to quote on a main line repair, they were 3 TIMES HIGHER than my estimate from a local plumber. I find it interesting that while I was on hold multiple times, and in looking at their web and other advertising, they use on time and quality service as main benefits. It's your money, and your time,,, you make the call! read more

We woke up at 3am to water pouring out of the airconditioner vents in our bedroom b.c the hot water heater in the attic was flooding. We turned in an emergency phone call and due to prior scheduled appts it was early afternoon before the tech arrived. John was VERY courteous, he worked quickly to diagnose the problem, offer his solutions and then went to work to replace the unit. He was a wonderful Tech with a very sweet demenor. we will use them again, when it's time to replace the other hot water heater! read more

Made a appointment for today between hours of 8am 12pm no one ever showed I called three times throughout the day...they told me that someone would come and call before they arrived... called 3pm for the last time they told me that they rescheduled my appointment for Thursday without telling me! They also lied about telling me that they called me to reschedule...I never once received a phone call!! Stay away! Hot water heater needed a simple fix and ARS said I needed a new one even though the heater was only 5 years old. I did not agree to a new heater but the only estimate I got was for a new one. The plumber took the whole heater apart and didn't tell me. Wish i could give this company 0 stars. Had to replace my shower tub because of small cracks on my second floor...Small leak on my ceiling. No big deal.. Worker replaced it and covered it with water for inspector.. an hour later my ceiling is soaked. The worker had not sealed it correctly and all the water was dripping down my first floor. I called them and informed them of the situation and said they would take care of it. They had a drying company come dry my ceiling which required them to cut a hole. After that horrible situation I had a really hard time scheduling a day for them to fix my ceiling which they had agreed to pay for. My shower tub was "Fixed" on March 28,2015 and after many calls to the company my ceiling was finally fixed April 30, 2015. Unfortunately that doesn't cover my list of complaints during all that I had missed the City Inspector and had to reschedule due to the fact that they never called me to let me know that he was coming. Not only that but they wanted to charge me to reschedule. Thanks to the City who took care of it, I didn't have to pay to reschedule and said they always have that problem with this company and to top it all off when my shower tub was replaced the worker made unnecessary cutting to my bathroom according to the remodeling worker who I did have to pay to come fix the rest of my shower and that tub that they over charged me for was not even the same size so when the remodeling worker placed my door back there was a huge gap! We had a leak in 2 of our bathrooms. One was a leak somewhere in an upstairs bathroom. Water stains on ceiling below bathroom was the only evidence, so we did not know what was leaking. I called to ask the price for a plumber (hourly charge) and they said free estimate and no travel charges. They told us they would tell us the cost after evaluation and before repair. Downstairs bathroom problem was the supply line from toilet tank. I had called 4 plumbers and they were the only ones to call back. ARS got a plumber out within 2 hours of my call. The upstairs toilet was flushed several times, sink and tub were checked but could not find any evident leaking. He said could do diagnostics for $65. Mentioned when people take shower could be water coming through floor, there was a small hole around toilet where tile floor was not cut properly around toilet. Husband poured a little water around toilet base and heard a gurgling sound. Plumber said we just needed to re-caulk around toilet base. Plumber said the supply line fix would be $145, we agreed since water was leaking everywhere and could not get another plumber out. The supply line fix took him 15 minutes to complete. Plumber was there for a total of about 30 minutes, which works out to about $290/hour. Part cost at hardware store I found out later is about $5.00. I gave them a 2 because they were quick to respond and the technician was pleasant. They are extremely expensive, but I guess they count on people really needing their services. If I had not needed the one toilet fixed urgently, I would have found someone more reasonable. read more

Yes, they are expensive, but we feel you get what you pay for. We at first had twiddle dee and his son to fix a flooded bathroom. They couldn't even find a clean out valve. Went on the roof and fixed the problem, or so we thought... Two weeks later major flooding. ARS came out, found the clean out valve in 5 minutes. Paying for their diagnostics (colonoscopy of the sewer pipes) showed a break, water under the house, really a mess. SEE THIS COMPANY COMING RUN TURN AWAY ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This company came out to our home in November and the tech did not connect the wiring corrected and caused our electricity to pull from the emergency heat pump. In doing this caused my electric bill to double for the months of Jan and Feb. From November to Feb 5th we had 4 tech's come out to our home and we finally had a tech that knew how to correct their problem on Feb 5th caused us to go in further debt of $730 worth of electricity bills for those two months. The damn heat would not even come on in our home "Super Bowl", Feb 4th so we called customer service 3x to complain and was told somebody would be coming out to fix the problem, it was in the teens that day and guess what no one ever came!!!!!!!I demanded to speak to a manager and after waiting 2 weeks Dan Bennett contacted me promised he would reimburse us for the error on the company part but that didn't quite happen either. He reimbursed me for my January bill ($400) which my bill was $403.85 and once I sent my bill for Feb they pretty much told us that was our problem to deal with?????? Your guys came out and ran the wire to our emergency heat pump from Nov to Feb 5th (3 months total) and your telling me $400 repayment out of $730 is our remaining problem???? They charge you outrageous prices for the installation and equipment and I have in writing by their tech stating it was installed incorrectly and you tell me it's our problem. I will be taking this to Home Depot who we originally required the service from and they sub contracted out to these morons!!! I will take this to BBB, and to court before I allow someone to take advantage of my hardworking dime and think they are getting away with this one. The only descent people representing this company is Joseph Kelly (tech) and Kim in customer service. For everyone else that I came in contact with their I don't give a s&it attitude on correcting their mistake. Thank you to Israel for being honest and stating the problem in writing about the company's installation being wired incorrectly. I have a huge peace of mind knowing when we go to court I clearly won't have a problem from the judge in this matter. The worst company ARS worst company ever!!!! I heard their ad on the radio and decided to give them a call after my toilets and showers backed up. I figured 88 bucks was a great deal. After the first of 3 guys showed up, he told me that my house was built without clean outs. Ok, that sucks. So he says he's going to have to take off the toilet and auger it from there. Ok... Sounds like progress. Except it's going to be something like 267 (might've been more, but at least that). Holy smokes, that seemed like quite a jump from just 88 bucks. I mean, you're still shoving the same tool into a pipe right? It's cheaper to take the toilet off yourself, which I did in all of 4 minutes. That brought the price down to 217. Except he couldn't get his cable past the intersection of the pipes. So, he called another guy to come out and help him. They bring in the second guy's auger. Same problem, they can't get it in. They give up and say they will have to call another guy to come over to get it from the roof...they forgot they lent another guy their ladder. So, 2 hours later, the third guy comes out with a 7 foot ladder, gets on the roof, and augers the roof pipe...problem solved in 10 minutes. Except it's 300 bucks to have them get on the one story roof, and 20 for supplies. They said if I wanted clean outs installed, it would 1500. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not. They said yesterday that we get a complimentary camera down the pipe done with out service, so we waited around his morning (Saturday). They called and said that because we don't have clean outs, they'll have to get on the roof....and by the way sir that's not complimentary...and it's more money than using the auger! 387 bucks. They refused to come out and give me the complimentary camera they had promised. Poorly organized company. The workers were nice and friendly though. Refusing to honor your workers' promise...bad, bad form. One of the guys knocked over the toilet, and now there is a chipped tile in my shower that wasn't there before. Took off a morning from work for a quote on work. Received a call 15 minutes before end of their arrival period (8-12) stating they would not be there. Full of excuses I did not want to hear. This after I was told at 8:30 they would have someone there in 60-90 minutes. Wasted a half day off work. if they can't provide a simple quote on time, not much confidence they can do the work either. I would avoid this company if you can. read more

OMG! Where to start? Toilets were not flushing and were draining slowly. I tried to get someone out on a Saturday but they were busy. Tried on Sunday but was told my problem was not enough of an emergency. They then called on New Year's day to see when they should come out. After living with it for 2+ days I asked them to come out the next day. Appointment between 5-7 pm. He shows up around 6:15. Tells me I have roots in my line and he needs to send someone to video it. The $88 special apparently didn't apply to my situation so I end up paying $260 for him to run a snake down the line to open it up. He says he made an appointment for me between 3-5pm on Thursday. I take off work early. No one came. No one called. I called them and was told they had high call volumes. Yeah, so what?! I had an appointment. I was told that the other calls were more important and they could maybe try to come tomorrow. In the morning. maybe. This company sucks. They lie to you. Don't honor the deals they offer and blow you off when they don't feel like doing their job. RUN. RUN AWAY! Don't waste your time, money or sanity!!! read more

We called in an emergency due to both bathrooms flooding as well as water coming through the floor of the master bedroom... they said someone will be out between 7-11 PM ! So, I sat around for hours, missed the concert I was supposed to be at, and NO ONE SHOWED UP!! No call, no show! when I called back today- zero apology, and gave me another 4 hour time slot... It's Fathers day! I am NOT missing my family to sit and wait on you not to show again! She said she will put us on their "emergency" list and someone will call 30 min prior....let's see if they actually show up this time. NOT HAPPY!!! read more

ARS is a horrible company. I would give them zero star if it gave me a choice. They only want to scam people. Our original purpose was to clean out the main sewer. They said that they had this video that would help us find out problems and fix them. The showed us videos of broken pipes and charged us $1600 to repair them. After that, problems in our plumbing didn't go away. They said that it was a complete different problem and needed to charge us $292 to fix those problems. They were upset when we denied the second service. When we looked into it, the broken pipes were for overflow in case of flood and they were not necessary to fix. No wonder people said that plumbers are paid too well and that the average age to retire for a plumber is 55! Please don't use this company again. I just wanted to share with everyone so that no one can fall into their trap again. read more

I had used ARS back in 2011 due to a water back up in my kitchen/laundry room. They are responsive, but they have a very high opinion of their services. They did repair the line successfully back in 2011, so I decided to use them again. I called on the $69 coupon to have my kitchen/laundry room cleaned out ("cabled" is the word they use). This was to include the camera review. When the technician, Michael V., showed up, he was very courteous. He reviewed why he was here (clogged drain) but he did not say anything about the camera run. (UH OH - Red Flag #1!). I asked him about the camera and he said that was not on his work order. He went ahead and ran the snake/cable and did find some lint and other material in the drain. After I asked him about the camera, he indicated he would call to office to set an appointment. I advised him I expected the camera to be run today since I had taken the time off from work. He indicated he would call the office to arrange to have the camera person come out. The ARS office called me about 30 minutes after Michael departed and discussed the service he provided. I then asked about the camera and the person on the phone said they would have a technician out today. The scheduler seemed incredulous that I still wanted the camera run since they found some material in the line. I guess the fact that the camera run was supposed to be a part of the service call as it was included in the coupon. (UH OH! Red Flag #2) . The technician, Chad, arrived about 30 minutes after I talked to the ARS scheduler. I showed him where the drain clean out was for the camera to be run. Chad informed me he did not do kitchen lines, only main lines. (UH OH!!! Red Flag #3) I informed him ARS did video kitchen/laundry room lines because they had run a camera back in 2011 in my kitchen/laundry room line, which was how they found the line break. Chad did not seem pleased that a video of the kitchen/laundry room line had been done before and realized the information he provided me about doing kitchen lines was probably "not as accurate" as he stated. So either he knew ARS did do kitchen lines and was not forthcoming in an honest manner, or else he did not know, which reflects very poorly on training he had been provided. I suspect it was the latter. I asked him to provide a video of the line run as well, since this is what ARS had done before. Chad informed me that he could prepare a video, but would have to charge me. That's interesting in that in the 2011 camera run, the technician was more than happy to prepare a video, gratis, which was included in the original price. At this point, I had lost faith in Chad, the ARS Technician. I had no idea if what he was telling me was "accurate" or if he would charge me for real or otherwise fabricated charges. So with his less than pleasant attitude, his denial that a kitchen/laundry room camera roll could be done and then his claim that he would have to charge me, I told him to disregard the camera run and he should go ahead and leave and not worry about running the camera. So ARS did come out and cable out the drain and did find at least some source of the clog. They did not run the video camera, which I did cancel after interacting with Chad the Technician. If Chad were my employee, he would not be at the end of the day. One of the things they do is try to sell you additional services and treatments. I would recommend you avoid these additional services. If they offer them, there is a very good chance someone else does the same service and at a much lower cost. read more
