It had no markings saying it was any kind of service dog, so I assume it was someone's pet. The dog ran around loose for a while, and then it CRAPPED all over the floor! It stunk to high heaven, and I thought I was going to barf. The room was full of elderly people at the time. I would like to know why this was allowed to happen, and would like to know why I shouldn't report it to the board of health.

I have been to countless doctors in boston and elsewhere and can not recommend Dr. Arrigg enough. They have state of the art balance and hearing service and are accesible unlike some of the doctors in Boston that take 6 months for an appointment. If your unfortunate to have to go through an inner ear problem than go see Dr Arrigg, he had helped me live a relatively normal life.

Are you telling me that the doctor just "walked" with no notice? I wish I knew where the doctor moved on to 'cause my family needs a new eye doctor now. I get a call less than a week before the three Saturday appointments (back to back) I'd set up over a month ago for myself, my husband and my son. Do you know how hard it is to book three appointments in the same block on a Saturday when your daughter does dance, your son does karate, your husband works nights and needs to sleep late in the mornings and you are running around like a nut case taking care of all of this. I booked things around these appointments because seeing the eye doctor is more important than a mani/pedi appointment or any other similar "pretty" appointments. This was the second time in less than a year that I've been "rescheduled." When I indicated this to the office she tried to "rebook" me. However, she didn't even realize she was rebooking a family of of three appointments. What was she going to do, call me three times to rebook us? So a July appointment for my family was about to turn into a September appointment to make it work for my calendar (something I'd already worked out if they'd only kept the appointments as is.) I informed the woman not to bother and that I'd be taking my family to another doctor's office -- one that actually keeps appointments. This prompted the office manager to call me back to try and resolve the situation. I'm at work while all of this is going on. I inform the office manager that I couldn't entertain the conversation since I was at work. She says she understands and lets me go. So with all of this the doctor calls. Again, he tries to keep my family there. He "agrees" to come in for the appointments as booked. At this point I start feeling like he's doing ME a favor. REALLY??? I attempt to let the doctor go as politely as possible but he wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise. I'm a receptionist. The office phone rang. I had no choice but I hung up on him. What does he do, he calls BACK and says that HE couldn't get his side in. HELLO???? This is a doctor's office -- not a hair dresser. Keeping appointments is more important than not in this business. You want to reschedule my hair appointment -- fine -- annoying but easily done more often than not. You want to rebook an overdue eye exam because you did't keep your last appointment -- not professional. Think twice -- that's all I can say.

No one asked if I had eye insurance(which was blamed on me), so in order for me to get refunded I had to file a claim backwards with both of my insurances. Several months after that I was billed a $25 copayment. Fine paid it, they cashed the check, still are sending me that bill several months after that(even though they cashed my check!) and now 1 year later I get a bill for $300. When I called about my prescription expiring on 11/26, I scheduled the next available appointment for 12/30, which meant I would be without contacts for 13 days and needed a few sample lenses to bridge the gap since I couldn't purchase more with an expired prescription. When I requested samples, the receptionist was dismissive and offered no help. When I asked if she could check with Dr. Chin, she replied--in a tone that made me feel as if I should have known better--that he was with patients all day. I explained that I understood, but hoped she could ask him at some point when he wasn't actively with a patient. Despite this, she never followed up. I emailed the office today, following up on my call from Monday, explaining the terrible experience I had with the woman I spoke with and again asking that my message be passed along to Dr. Chin, as he deserves to know why a long-time patient is leaving. And once again--no response. At the very least, a response to my email should have been a basic professional courtesy, but I didn't receive any acknowledgment whatsoever. Do better, front office at Andover Eye. After reading other reviews of AEA, there seems to be a consistent theme of dissatisfaction with the front desk staff. It's surprising that nothing has been done to address it, and it makes me wonder whether the doctors are even receiving this feedback. I hope this message ultimately reaches Dr. Chin. He has always been excellent, but the lack of support and communication from the front desk ultimately led me to seek care with a new provider. On a positive note, I want to give a shout-out to the optical office staff--they have consistently been terrific.
