One recent August morning, I discovered low water pressure at the barn and a dreaded "F code" on the control panel of my solar-powered well, which was DOA. With 30 head of livestock to water, "OOW" (out of water) in high summer is no joke. Arolo Pump and Well was the third service I called, and the first who could deliver a service call within 24 hours. A team of 2 led by the very capable Dan arrived on schedule and did a step by step diagnosis that led to the complete disassembly of my well and pump, with over 400 feet of pipe pulled up and out of the ground. This was very educational for a new ranch owner, and they were great about answering all questions and volunteering information. Happily, they found what appeared to them to be the cause of the failure and were able to fix the system on the spot without needing to replace any major, expensive components(!) They reassembled everything in rapid, expert fashion; the well has worked reliably in the weeks since and better than it did before. I did not receive a bill on the spot and was a bit nervous after seeing some of the reviews here. However, I was billed by mail timely and the amount was very reasonable for the work and expertise required, given what I have seen other well services charge. I'll definitely call Arolo again. read more

Overpriced. Owner was really rude to me when I questioned charges for clarification which made me feel like he was super shady. The guys who came out to do the work were very unprofessional and did not seem like they like where they worked and it showed. Hopefully won't need any more work done soon but if I do I will be calling someone else. read more

As a business owner, I hate writing a review like this. Their work was good, and they got it done quickly, but they were totally dishonest in the estimating, sales & billing process. I would avoid using them. read more

BE AWARE... they came to our property to give us a diagnosis of our issue. What they NEVER MENTIONED they would START charging the HOURLY RATE from the time they left the previous job site (BS). NIETTHER did they mention they would charge fuel. And for a pair of black latext gloves misc. Charge $20.. This company are thiefs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. We had chosen a local company to not only support them but to use someone from our own town well big mistake. Someone had already mentioned to me they were not honest. I should of listened. Later talked to several people I got the same feedback. read more

Arolo installed a water softener and sand filter. The plumbing was done beautifully. The water quality is the best it"s ever bin. Thank you Arolo. read more

Bummer to add to the chorus of people who reviewed before...I didn't look at reviews when I called them as an electrician referred them, but their time/materials were twice the cost of the prior well company I used (they worked OT without checking in with me), and they damaged a pipe when they turned the water back on which meant I had to tear up my flagstone patio to fix (and then charged me for the fix!). I will always look at Google reviews in the future before hiring anyone... read more

Never trust this plumber, he is very dishonest with an inflated price, please review hisi items on the bill.

Unfortunately this company was great when they were just Arolo but they have joined with Forester. I to have fallen prey to the scam the others mentioned. Forester installed an 8K booster pump in 2015 which leaked soon after which they charged for fixing then leaked again after that so I called Arolo who fixed it. Now in 2021 it sprung a new leak which is fine but when I called them they said they would have someone out to take a look and give me a quote if the cost. The man, Dan, who came said they were booked out 6 weeks, he couldn't fix it today, and it was going to "be very expensive". He gave me no quote and left after 2 minutes looking at the pump. This all was followed by a $261 bill. A plumber fixed it for me for a minimal price and I will never do business with this company again. Very disappointed in their misrepresentation of their availability and the cost of getting a quote. Obviously if I had known they were booked out I would not have waited three days for someone to come out only to tell us that our significant leak could not be fixed for a long time. This pump is what provides all the water to our house. Seems like they just wanted the fee to come out and look and didn't even bother looking since they knew they were booked. read more

Worker sat in his truck for close to an hour and then argued that I should be charged for that time. The owner was down right condescending about it. Interestingly enough, a day after I gave my credit card information to the workman, fraudulent charges started showing up on my credit card account. Can't prove it was the workman but another reason to not use this company...... read more

I can't speak to the quality of the billing practices or office manner which so many others have commented on, because I'm not the one footing the bill for their visit today. I'm the plumber on a project in Sonoma county and Arolo was called out to troubleshoot a well which was not working. The technician, who's name escapes me, arrived when they said he would, was friendly, funny, and efficient and even gave me an impromptu lesson on well pumps. read more

So very impressed with these guys! Our sump pump that handles all rain water drainage from the house suddenly went out last night, just as today's outpour began. After business hours last last night I left a message and bingo, they were on the phone with me at 7:30 this morning. They sent an excellent tech (Ian W) this afternoon who diagnosed that the old pump needed to be replaced. He removed the old pump, installed the new one, cleaned out the pump well, and was out of here in not more than a half hour. Ian was knowledgeable, and courteous. Highly recommended. -Tom Nolan, San Rafael read more

Horrible. Dishonest. If you think mechanics are bad you have not delt with Justin at Arolo pump and well. I had a problem with my well cycling on and off, he sold me every part except the right one. I needed a new well pump. It cost $4000.00 in parts and labor for him to tell me that. Then he wanted another $7500.00 to put the new pump in. And change out the parts HE put in, that i already payed for. DO NOT USE THIS WELL COMPANY. read more

Super disappointed in their customer service. BEWARE of what you will be charged for! I first contacted this company in an emergency state since we had no water, the man I spoke to explained that it would be time and a half if they were out there after 4pm or we could make an appointment first thing in the morning at regular rate ($115/hr). I appreciated the honesty and we opted to purchase a new pump and install it ourselves that day in hopes that we would have water sooner than later. The new pump still did not fix the problem so my BF called the next day, explained the situation and they sent someone right up. The service man was great and knowledgeable and explained that the electrical wiring was done wrong and that is also the reason why our previous pump had burned out. He fixed the wiring and a couple other issues that came up. He gave us a handwritten invoice at the regular $115 rate for the 4 1/2 hours he was there and included travel time, no problem. Flash forward to today, we get a call saying that our invoice is being sent out at DOUBLE TIME due to the fact that they are working on "other people's equipment" and that they don't make money servicing pumps bought at Home Depot! Ummmm WHAT??!! After reviewing the handwritten invoice, my BF calls back and is greeted by an employee who says something along the lines of "oh yea, we heard about YOU already". This employee even had the audacity to say that he understands that we have the legal right to only pay the original invoice amount but if we do that then they will NEVER come out to our property again. Seriously, what kind of way is that to treat a new customer that is trying to clear up an obvious oversight on the multiple employees ends that we had spoken to over the course of this? I can't believe that a company would try to turn an already stressful situation into a bait and switch to get a little extra cash in their pocket. If the policy is to always charge double time for "working on someone else's equipment" then they would never get new customers. Furthermore, don't make customers feel like they are in the wrong when we chose to give YOU our valuable business and hard earned money. Unbelievable! read more

Customer service is not something you will get with this company! Was told that they would call in the morning to advise when they would be out to check out my pump. Called them in the late morning for a status on when they might arrive, and was told they would text someone. What I got was a call that they were on their way. I let them know I could be there in 15-20 minutes, as I was at work and was waiting for a call to let me know when they could be out. I was abruptly told that would not be soon enough and they would not wait for. Sure would be nice if contractors would not talk down to customers, including women customers. Time to call the following companies and see how they are: Jerry and Don's, The Water System Man, Cowarts, and Anderson's. read more

They responded within one hour of my phone call and had me fixed up within 30 minutes. Jason was experienced, polite and gave me an excellent customer experience. It is no fun to wake up to no running water so the fact that they came right out, Diagnosed the situation, and got the system fixed before I even went to work was just fantastic. read more

Beware of this company. If you are a residential consumer, you better know how to talk to them or you will be on a service call ticket. That's an open checkbook, you will be charged time and mileage. As suggested by others, customer service is not their strength and it starts with the owner. My advice, stay away and try someone else. read more

This family run business stays busy for a reason. They do quality work which they guarantee. I called them out for a faulty pump issue and they responded within a short timeframe. There were some issues to work out but Tony, the owner, handled it graciously and calmly. I appreciate their work ethic and fairness. read more

This family run business does quality work. Upon calling for a pump problem, was told I could expect a service person within a specific time frame and he arrived earlier than promised. During the course of repairs, I dealt with three different employees. Two in the office and service man in the field. All were very professional, courteous, and extremely willing to provide a quality job. Arolo will always be my go to pump company. read more

As others have said, BEWARE! Called them after hearing an advertisement on the radio. I am in the process of upgrading my well water treatment to encompass a second unit I am building. They gave me an outrageous bid of over $10,000, and did not even bid what I wanted, which was to relocate or remove my old system and treat water prior to going into the holding tank. To add insult to injury, they sent me an invoice for $570 for coming out! Have received bids from 4 other companies who did not charge a dime. read more

I had this company out on 2 separate occasions for the same problem. The first time everything was great. They came out quickly and fixed the problem. However, after it was fixed ($$$$) they said the fix was temporary and it would happen again. Now why didn't they tell me that before they fixed it! Any reputable company would have said you need a new one, fixing is not going to work for very long BEFORE fixing! So, when the item broke again I called again. I was told they would be right out. 2+ Hours later and a phone to find out where they were, someone came out, identified the problem quickly and told me they would get back to me with an price to fix, but it would probably be ~3x($$$$) the original fix. Well they never called back, I never got a quote in the mail or an invoice with a charge. A month later I get a bill for a diagnostic charge with a finance charge! A $100 invoice for not even 15 minutes? Are you kidding me! I will never call this company out again!!!! Not only were they rude on the phone when I called to see where they were, when they told me they would be right out, but the diagnostic charge is absolutely price gouging, especially when I am sure they knew my item's issue before they came out. Done! Customer lost. Oh, and I have been telling every person I know! read more

When your water pump dies, you are in a real situation with no water to shower, do dishes, or flush the toilet. This happened to us and we called Arolo. They answered the phone right away and when they heard of the emergency (no water) status of our need, they made sure were fit in that morning. The technician, Noe, came by and he was able to quickly identify the problem. He headed back to the business to see if they had a new pump and other supporting parts in stock. Fingers crossed--yes, they did. While he was gone, I got a call from the company with an estimate that was honest and accurate. Noe was back by the afternoon and spent a couple of hours (as predicted) to fix the problem. He was respectful, courteous and very knowledgeable. He was kind enough to answer our questions about how the pump and water system worked. When he finished, I was sure to ask for a company sticker to put on the pump so I would be sure to call them if there were ever any issues again. The bill came and was no surprise based on the estimate. Since I work nearby, I dropped off the payment in person and was treated well as I was shown to the business office. The office staff was friendly and personable. It wasn't any fun to have no water, but Arolo took care of us! Highly recommend this business! read more

When you're facing a large and complex project, you trust a professional with experience and know how, then get the heck out of their way. We trusted Tony at Arolo Company because our previous well contractor entrusted him with all his clients and business when he retired. For us, Tony and his crew could not have done a better job. Our experience was amazing and one that should be added to these reviews and shared for others in need. Five out of Five stars is well deserved. We lost three wells and water tanks to the CA wildfires last year and was faced with needing to restore them. Fast. For 30+ years, the aging system faithfully supplied water to the property which now lay in ashes spread out across five acres of steep and heavily forested hills. The job was not going to be an easy one. Besides the challenging terrain, each well was unique in terms of equipment, age, condition, and water quality. Too many variables for a DIY homeowner. We needed someone that dealt with this sort of thing every day and finding Arolo Company was nothing short of a godsend. Tony listened carefully to every detail about what we originally had. We expected he would simply put everything back in place. Thank god he thought for us. Knowing our wishes and anticipating County building code for fire suppression, he ended up designing and installing a system that far exceeded our expectations. We were completely blown away with their overall design and the superior quality of workmanship, material and installation. Friends seeing the system commented how it looked like the Board of Water supply. Very professional. Very sound. Very solid. Onsite, the field crew was timely, courteous, conscientious, efficient and professional. And FAST! The office staff was no different. And Tony was an absolute saint. We would recommend Arolo Company to anyone that asks. And when we're in need of any maintenance or service down the road, we will not hesitate to call Tony and his crew for assistance. read more

We have used this service before. They got one their wonderful techs Dan out right away and corrected a problem that could have otherwise been horrible. Dan was so efficient and tidy. The office was great to deal with as well. Jim and Tony were very professional as well and aim to please. read more

Be careful if you have work done by Arolo. Get an estimate detailed with unit cost before they start - they only want to give verbal lump sum. I was given a ballpark of $3,300 for the worse case scenario; a 25 gpm pump, 5 hours just to pull 200' of galvanized pipe, more to put it back, etc. They email you a paper "estimate" to sign when they have the pump out, still no detail, and won't proceed until you sign. It was still $3,300 so I assumed they just used the original ballpark until the job was complete. Smaller pump, reusable pipe, the job took 4 hours total. They have their technician do the paperwork with a carbon copy on site afterwards, but they are instructed not to give you a copy? Take a pic of what you sign! Then the bill comes, and absolutely no detail, not even what model pump. They replace my brand new controller due to warranty, but provided no warranty information. Not with BBB, but have a B- rating. And the 5 star rating from Jim on google? He works in the office. Make sure you get a kiss if you go with these guys... read more

Beware. Charged for call out. Did not confirm appointment. They charge regardless. Poor customer service. Look elsewhere.
