Upon their inspection it was determined that the leak was just early warning that more repairs would be needed in the near future. Our "valleys" on the roof had collected dirt and leaves so Armor Roofing came out and had to remove the cement tile as they went, clean and blow the "gunk" away, then put all the tiles back in place. 12 valleys took about a day and a half and they kept to their original estimate. I was particularly impressed with Mello who works at the front. She went way above and beyond to work with us in scheduling. Called to get quote they sent out a technician when I told him I wanted the whole roof done he kept asking me if I wanted all the tile lifted... I thought whole roof meant that but he looked at me like I was strange. When 2 weeks passed with no quote I finally called into the office and they said they couldn't give me a quote using existing tile I said I understand the gentleman told me it'd be cheaper to buy all brand new tile. He would get me a quote for that she said okay no problem and I mentioned that I need it done soon and she said well then I can't give you a quote. I asked them to give me a quote for next spring she goes I can't give you a quote for that either because you want it done now. I reminded her she had just told me she could give me a quote for all new tile roofing and she said well that was assuming it was going to be next spring I said well just give me that quote and she said I won't give you any quote cuz you're being rude. I called two other companies for estimates. Both companies came out looked at my complaint and gave me an estimate that I thought was absurd. I went onto Angie's list and Armor roofing company called me. I had them come out to give me one last bid. The gentleman came out looked at my area of concern. Then did a full roof inspection. He found around 30 broken or cracked tiles along with some flashing that needed some attention. All sounded expensive. I told him give me a quote for my original complaint then a second one for the other stuff he found. Bothe quotes I received was hundreds cheaper than the other two quotes i received on just the one area. I am glad I called Armor roofing out. It's nice to see an honest company in these hard times. They did a great job on repairing my chimney and a hole in my roof. They came out in a timely manner and did repairs. The only draw back I have was the billing & communications. The price wasn't the issue. It was trying to pay armor roofing, I had the service done and then it took a few weeks for them to send me a bill in the mail to pay. Then we had the local storm in February that had the 60+mph winds. I asked to have a hole repaired and added onto my bill. They said no problem came out with in a week and fixed it. I would call and ask about the new bill, nobody knew anything, and nobody would call me back about the bill. From time of last service until I was actually given a bill in the mail to pay, was 2 months. :/ So overall, they're fast on getting the work done. They're reasonably priced. Just the communication between them and the customer is lagging. read more

They informed me that do you the last down pour they were extremely busy, but they would get back with me. Understandable, it did rain heavy so I could've see that they were busy. Five days later - No call, so I called again they apologized and said they had not forgotten but it they were very busy. Third time ( should have just moved on by this time, but I didn't ) - they said that they in fact did send someone out and they would have a quote out to me via e-mail the next day , well guess what. That's right it never came , so I moved on. So everyone that I speak to regarding a roof. I tell them to stay FAR way from this place. I share NuShake is the place to go - may have to wait a bit , because they are busy, BUT they will call you back when they say they will and follow-up with you. He said that he forgot to bring his 100' tape measure and that he'd be back in a few days to take more measurements and give me a price. I had a covered patio that was drooping in the middle and leaking from the gutter. I also had wood rot that needed to be repaired. I called another company and got a quote. I tried calling to schedule them to come out and do the work, but I never got a return call. I called Armor Roofing and they were out the next day. They were less expensive and also pointed out several tiles that needed to be replaced. The roofers came out on time to do the job and were friendly and professional. He explained what they would be doing and told me that both of them have been with the company for twenty years. They were done with all the repairs except for replacing the broken tiles. He said that the colors did not match and that they would have to order the tiles. They would be back to finish the job when the tiles came in. They were back in two days and finished the job. This company was great to work with and did a great job! I appreciated the communication and that they did everything in the time they said they would. I would recommend their services to anyone. I hope I won't need any repairs soon, but if that time comes, I will use them again. read more

Although they did send someone out to put an emergency tarp on my roof, the price I was quoted over the phone was only half of what they actually invoiced me for. Called several roofing companies to give quote on a small repair. Armor is the only one that was interested. I talked with the office and scheduled a guy to come give a quote in about a week. Waited a week, took off a couple hours off of work to come home and meet the guy. They were supposed to be here between 3 and 5 pm and showed up at 3:15pm. I showed Robert the issues with the cement tiles and instead of just giving a quote and putting the repair on the schedule, he took care of the issues right then and there. Not only did he take care of the issues I knew about, but Robert found some other issues that were also taken care of that I was not aware of. Robert is great. Had this company reroof our house and install new rain gutters. The roof has a good guarantee from the manufacturer. After the days' work, I was informed that they would be coming back to finishing up. The next day, they did not show up. I called the company and was informed that they had been told the work was completed. Really!!! They did not patch the stucco after removal of old gutters, leaving holes and exposure to the elements prior to installing the new gutters. One of the gutters downspouts is at an angle and not flat against the house. Another one has the rectangular end piece missing and the downspout end was cut at the curve and was left jagged and sharp, Water coming from the roof would hit an area behind the drain. I purchased some leaf guards and when placing them in the downspout discovered that they had broken the stucco, leaving an over 5-inch hole exposing the inside of the roof. I telephoned the company and emailed them photos. No response. Poor work ethic,shoddy work and failure to correct mistakes. Pleasant on the telephone but the proof is in the pudding. Do not recommend anyone use this company unless you enjoy DIY work in repairing their work. read more

I went with another roofing company who determined that John Jewell did not repair any problem with the roof but simply removed some tiles and replaced them where the leak was. Tried to charge me $400 for his 15 minute mess. The other roofer stopped the leak by actually making repairs and the charge for labor and time was $200. Be careful consumers!
