Larry and his team just completed a full bathroom transformation in my home. We threw a few extra projects at him that he wasn't expecting and the outcome was everything we envisioned and more. My husband and I are extremely happy with the finished product!!! The bathroom remodel included a full gut, new sub flooring, lighting, ventilation fan, new tile in the shower and floor, new tub, new toilet and vanity. He closed our hall closet and installed new cabinets in the bathroom, to accommodate a new barn door! We will definitely be using Larry again in the near future! read more

Larry is great, reliable, and ensures his work. He's fixed a few things on my condo both inside the condo and outside work as well. His prices are very reasonable & he doesn't over charge and is very honest unlike some maintenance men I've come across in the past, I always refer him to friends and family because he's professional and do great work. I really recommend Larry to anyone, buy especially to first time home buyers and single women or men who's not that handy because it is extremely important to find someone honest nowadays. One time my HOA thought the dry rot job wasn't completed or done correctly (I can't remember) by Larry, so I called him to let him know and he was at my condo the next day to meet with the property maintenance manager who then assured me that Larry's work fine and that there were no issues with his work. I thought his responsiveness was great and saved me the stress from get fined by my HOA. I will say this one last time it really pays to work with a reliable honest person like Larry...Thanks God I found 5 Star Handyman Service on Yelp! read more

Great custer services and good workmanship. I had to have the ceiling fixed on my rental to due a small fire in the bathroom from the exhaust fan and the Fire Dept openned the ceiling to check. The bathroom shower/tub valve failed and I could not shut off the flow of water. Tom came on Christmas Eve, in a major snow storm, and fixed it. Highly recommend him! read more

I needed a handyman for a property located in Stockton. I went on Yelp & noticed all the positive feedback for 5Star Handyman. I texted them & asked if they worked just in the Modesto area or would come farther? They said they occasionally worked Stockton & set up a Saturday appointment. Larry showed up to take a look at the various projects & said the commute from Modesto would be no problem. He said he wanted the job & would have a quote back to us in 2--3 days. That was 2 weeks ago. We waited a week to get Larry to come and take a look at the house & 2 weeks for a quote that never came. All in all, 3 weeks was wasted waiting on Larry. All texts & calls have gone unanswered & it looks like we've been "ghosted." This business might get 5 stars for their work, but they get 1 star for their professionalism and customer service. read more

I called several handyman businesses in the area and Larry was the only one who called back. I had a small job that needed to be done, which was replacing dry rotted wood on my chimney trim. He came with a gentleman on a Tuesday morning, quickly got the job done, and left the area where they had been working clean. Larry at 5 Star Handyman will be my go-to guy when I have a small job that needs to be done. He's friendly and found him to be efficient, quoted me a reasonable price, and friendly. I've been signed up on Yelp for awhile now, but this business is the first that I am compelled to write a review for. Great Job! read more

Again just wanted to update my previous glowing review. Larry and team came in and did more work as they are my go to team. They installed new doors, laminate flooring, plumbing and just did a great job. Even picked up the material and delivered. My home looks beautiful and it is thanks to the team. I also mentioned their ethics in a previous review and that is hard to find sometimes today, but I have found it in them. They will keep at it until you are absolutely pleased with the job and they are good to their word. Thank you for another wonderful job. read more

Well worth the name! I hired Larry from 5 Star handyman to remove the carpet from my livingroom/diningroom and put in a wood laminate flooring and he did a great job, was timely and stayed within the budget. I even hired him to come back and do baseboards and painting. I will definitely be calling them again with any needs I may have in the future. read more

Because Yelp reviews helped me select this handyman service, I'd like to pay it forward. We bought a new condo and I had a few things I wanted done before we moved in. Well a few things turned into a few more things and so on. During the process the Larrys (Father and son) were so professional and easy to work with. They take pride in their work, they want you to be happy and they are beyond fair in their quotes. I'm going to attempt to list all the work they completed for me, but I may miss something. Removed carpet, removed old laminate, installed approx. 700 sq feet of laminate, relocated light fixtures, installed two ceiling fans (one on a vaulted 15 foot ceiling), customized cabinetry to fit new fridge, installed garage shelving and organization units including a peg board, mounted bike racks, removed a huge mirror over the fireplace, mounted flat panel above fireplace, refinished a brass fireplace to a more modern look, leveled a crooked step platform, installed new electronic door locks on home and garage, installed new outdoor lighting, installed new door kick plates, redid the shower plumbing, tons of touch up painting and hung an oversized mirror in my stair landing. I hope this give you a great idea of their capabilities. Their demeanor was always pleasant and they can be trusted to work alone. Like I said, I took a chance on them and I'm so glad I did, because my home is exactly how I envisioned it to be. I am pleased to consider them my go-to people for any repair/remodel work I need. Please contact me if you have any questions about my reference. read more

I wish I could give Larry and his dad 10 stars. They painted, hung a new door, fixed a wonky fence and put in new fence. All done with care and quality work. On top of that, they're super nice. I've already started my list of chores that I just never seem to get the time to do and that they just will do so much better than I could. They return phone calls and do what they say they're going to do, when they say they're going to do it. read more

The duo of Larry and Larry were a huge help to me! Their prices are reasonable and schedules flexible. They were able to accommodate a quick same day job with a competent and professional manner. I had a door to install and they were fully appraised of city/state codes with regard as to door installation. The install looks great and I'll be using them for all future handyman tasks. read more

I called Larry last minute because I was in dyer need of help! I just purchased my first home and was in a rush to have three bathrooms demoed in order to have my new bathroom floors installed. He came out on a Sunday and removed everything I needed. He even took odd items left behind in my yard for no additional charge. His pricing was extremely low and fair. Come to find out he's able to assist me in my kitchen counter install. He's very professional, reliable, quick and efficient. I will definitely use him for all my upcoming needs. read more

Called Larry to fix a light in a closet that needed to be rewirded, centered, and install a new fan for it. Also to install a fan in my daughter's room. He came right on time, did the job within a timely matter and did it and beyond. Did such a wonderful job! I'm still amazed with the work he did, completely professional. He installed my daughter's fan quickly. And the closet is perfection. Cannot tell that the light was removed and repositioned. Will def call Larry back for some more work. 100% satisfied. I can't say enough good things about this handyman service. If I could I would give them 10 stars! Larry is so wonderful you don't find many handymen like him. Not only does he work hard and take pride in his work, but he tries to get you the best deals possible to save you money. It is hard to find someone you can trust fully when it comes to working on your home, but I know we have found that with 5 Star Handyman service. We have several rental properties and I would only trust these guys to work on our homes. I am so glad we found Larry and his handyman service. read more

Saw good reviews so I called and setup an appointment for an estimate. Had some drywall work for the kitchen. He came in on a Saturday and reviewed the work. I also requested an additional estimate on a separate job. He sayed my estimate would be ready later in the afternoon or the following day. No response until I emailed him on Tuesday. He responded with a family emergency and would get back to me in the evening. I respect when a family emergency occurs so I let it go. No response as of today. This pushed my repair further than I wanted. I have had very bad luck getting someone in the modesto area to return a phone call. I don't like leaving negative reviews but not responding to someone that needs repairs and is serious about getting it done is a red flag and unacceptable. read more
