I reached out to Johnny to get the walls in the closet ready for the wallpaper installation. He came to check the walls condition and to give the estimate, I shared what the expectations were. The quote was $600 to flatten the walls for the wallpaper installation (we had orange peel alike texture). When he and his son arrived to work on the walls. They only patched some holes and said that's it. It then came to the argument that that was not how the walls should be prepared for the wallpapers. Johnny offered to skim coat the walls for additional $400. And he was assuring me that the wallpapers can be installed on textured walls, which is not true. I received multiple quotes for the wallpaper installation and EVERY single company said that the walls should be smooth. My advice is when you work with them, record the process/conversation and do a full walkthrough of the steps and the process before they start. What was discussed during the quote doesn't match with the work done. Very disappointed. $600 to patch some holes. The walls are still not ready for wallpaper installation. None of the companies want to install on textured walls because they all say it will bubble up! Now I have to pay extra to the other company to properly prep the walls. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews let alone any reviews, but I did for this. I do not recommend if you require honesty in your interactions with anyone. Was told one project of repairing my dry wall from a plumbing issue was a certain price and we agreed and was then paid and after the job was fulfilled. I liked the work, and ask them to come back the following Monday morning for a PAINTING and BOARDING for a set price that was agreed upon after the 1st project. The first project was $500. Then I later asked about painting and boarding, which he then said would be "ridiculously cheap" of $150. I then confirmed that set price multiple times which we moved forward. Once the painting and boarding was completely finished, I then fulfilled John with the money that was agreed upon. But he then was persistent in saying that we agreed on "$650" more when that was NOT TRUE AT ALL. And if "$650" was the agreed amount price after the 1st project was completed, I would HAVE NOT have had them come back at all!!! We then got into a verbal conflict and they proceeded to say, "if you don't want to pay me, we'll just take it back right now, the boarding and the paint." And I then agreed and said "go ahead, take the boarding and paint off." My issue was that he DID NOT JUST TAKE THE BOARDING AND PAINT OFF, he damaged the walls more than just taking the paint off! (Pictures are provided and video). He cut my wall further than was EVER cut. And scraped and broke off pieces of the sheet rock from the 1st project! And even cut a wall on the RIGHT side under my window that had ZERO issues at all!! At least Johnny (the son) was smart enough to just cover my other bedroom wall with paint versus John who CUT my wall and scraped off the sheet rock and texture off the walls when that was initially paid for in the 1st Project. I proceeded to ask for my money back but was told, "this is for the materials, or actually this is more than materials" which he laughed and walked out my house. (Which I have on my Ring Camera) If you do business with them please have a written contract with them. I expect HONESTY and communication. Do not let them try and hustle you for money. KNOW who you're doing business with and what they're doing buisness for. I read that another was hustled another "$600" in her review with them, and I wish I took that serious. They do excellent patchwork. If they had used their time more wisely, this would have been good. It would not have resulted in rushed work on the last day. They do not know how to manage their time. They only spent a couple of hours each day on one project. Instead of doing work on smaller projects giving them a chance to appropriately dry, they left. They stayed gone for a couple of hours. They either returned that later the same day; or they just left it until the next day. This resulted in the entire project taking much longer than it should have. What should have only taken a couple of days took almost a week. They left the minor stuff last and rushed through it resulting in poor workmanship on the smaller projects. I was told work on items that were non-patch related could be done. These were the smaller items like filling in gaps on crown molding. They also installed new lights in a bathroom. On two of the lights, the direction was changed. The distance was also discussed. But when the holes were cut, the distance was nowhere near what I said. We were charged another $600 to move them to what was originally discussed. I believe this was on purpose. Yes, the lights came out nice, but this was not honest. The biggest thing is they nicked our brand new counter and didn't say a word. They are not responding to communication. For this, I would not recommend them. I expect honesty, better working habits, and much better communication. read more

Wow, just wow!! We had Fresh Coat patch our drywall before painting the kitchen. He did a terrible job. We had to have him back to fix it and you could STILL see the tape! AAA Patchmen did a outstanding job remodeling my fireplace area. They removed the original gas fireplace and took down the protruding 10'Hx6'w wall around the original fireplace and made it flush withe rest of the wall on the left and right side. They also fixed and patched areas in my ceiling where 4 dated columns were attached in 2 different rooms. John was his own worse critic, which I appreciate. I too take pride in my work and was happy that he would find any imperfection and point it out to me then fix it right away. Another thing I appreciated was that he was able to save me money, other contractors placed bids on the same work and tried to over exaggerate the amount of work it would take to complete the job, but John didn't, and saved me money. I enjoyed my experience with AAA Patchmen, John is a quarky guy and we laughed a lot while he was at my home. He was also very respectful to me and my family and tried not to be to disruptive since my wife and I work from home. I just purchased a house, built in 1961, that had visible cracks along doors and windows, apparently a Stockton settling thing, and floor to ceiling paneling on three walls. Additionally there were several pretty significant cracks in the ceilings in two rooms. After removing the paneling myself, the walls under the paneling were full of old glue tracks and more cracks. I had a bid for nearly $5000 and a week before the job could start. That's when I called John at AAA Patchmen. John came in and gave me a bid for less than 1/2 of the other guy and could start immediately if I needed him to. I was taking several bids and I asked if I could call John later that evening. Well I was so impressed with John that I decided I would go with him. When I called him that night he told me he would have to start in a few days as he had accepted two other jobs that day! Fine with me, as the day he was to come was approaching, I just sent him an email confirming date, time and price. He responded immediately to my email confirming the date. The next day, the day before my job started he sent me an email asking if he could come the day after the original date scheduled to start. That was fine by me and he showed up to do the job with his son, Johnny. I am so impressed with the job that John and Johnny did. They were very quick and had my job done in two days! All told I don't think they spent more than 8 hrs over the two days but their work was excellent! I told John that I wanted the walls ready for paint and he delivered! I have a very textured ceiling and when the ceiling is painted I do not think that I will be able to tell AT ALL where John and Johnny made the repairs. A rental property of mine had water damage downstairs from an upstairs water leak. My husband reached out on my behalf for a quote. Sent pictures and were quoted. I prefer someone come out and actually view the damage to provide a more accurate quote because I do not want to be told something else later on. John seemed hesitant to come out but agreed. My husband and I drove out to the rental property, waited about 10 minutes, and then John messaged my husband asking to give him a call. John said he wasn't going to come after all and the quote was the same. My husband said well what if the damage is more than what was quoted. John said they'd eat the cost. I do not do verbal business dealings this way, incredibly unprofessional, and wasted AN HOUR of our time in driving out there to the property. If they don't want to come out and view the damage, then that's a sign to me that they don't take their profession and customers seriously. read more

John and Johnny did and awesome job on refinishing our ceiling, bedrooms and hallway. We removed the popcorn ceiling. They came to the rescue to make the ceiling look awesome. Quick and efficient. We felt the price was fair. John came out on a Sunday by Monday the job was completed. Both John and Johnny came back the next day to do a little touch up work. Due to an alarm pad being removed from a wall it left a hole. John fixed the hole after mention " I fixed the hole in the wall." That was awesome and over and beyond what we contracted him to do.
