With all the fires these days Edison shuts down our power as a safety precaution from time to time so we had to purchase a generator or live life in the dark. I hired AE to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage. From the moment I reached out, Randy was courteous and responsive. Even though I sent him a video of my breaker and location of install, Randy came out to my house to assess the situation and explain what his team would need to do. He was the only company that went out of his way to come out in person. After getting a few other quotes, I decided on AE. The only drawback I'd call out is that they're booked solid. So the next availability they had was about a month out. This was ok with me since my install wasn't urgent. The day before the installation Randy reached out to confirm the time they'd be arriving. If you need to convert to 240 volts to install EV charger, no need to waste your time calling around (like I did) and just call the father and son outfit at Armor. My job was a little more tricky because my breaker was upstairs and they had to snake the wires through walls and feed it downstairs to the garage. They also did a very nice job cutting out the drywall and providing the pieces for me to use later to repatch. The installation of the EV charger and outlet box was phenomenal. They used a leveler to make sure that the outlet box was aligned to the wall and on the EV charger to make sure it was perfectly aligned to the outlet box. I'm sure most electricians may have eyeballed it and said "good enough" but these guys made sure it was precise. I really appreciated the level of detail in their workmanship...and it really showed throughout the installation process. And even before starting the job when they came out for the estimate, they helped me figure out my load calculation so that I had enough watts/amps. This helped me to identify whether I should purchase a 24 amp or 40 amp charger. To save money, they recommended that I go to Fullerton city hall myself and apply for the permit. Because I had already done the load calculation, it was super easy to go to the city and apply for the permit. Again, great workmanship, super friendly, and really helpful to someone like me that had no clue how to get an EV charger installed. Brandon and Randy came out to install a Tesla Wall Connector and 2 x NEMA 14-50 outlets. I chose them because they are licensed and insured and provide help in getting city permits. I didn't want to take a chance of not being covered by my insurance in the event that an accident occurs and wanted everything to be properly documented. Apparently the three-way dimmer that you can operate from two locations is not a very common item. One Electrician I called, declined to work on it since he was afraid he would damage the switches.
